The Resources Minister has again put gas producers on notice, taking the first step towards implementing the so called gas trigger, which caps the amount of gas available for export.

The move follows the consumer watchdog's interim gas report which predicts a domestic gas shortfall equivalent to ten per cent of the east coast market.
