Australian journalist Peter Greste  started as a foreign correspondent, in Kabul in 1995.

It was a time of civil war between rival Mujahideen factions in the country, with the Taliban emerging.

Greste's twenty year career as a foreign correspondent was book-ended with imprisonment in Egypt, along with fellow Al Jazeera journalists.
