1. Prewrite.
2. Know your funding sources.
3. Prepare your application based on those funding sources and their preferences.
4. Say “no” – Not all people, grants or situations are equally worthy.
5. Plan ahead (a year calendar will help).
6. Practice – You cannot improve without practice.
