Good morning and welcome back to another episode!
Today we are joined by Christie Jenkins, an associate at Blackbird Ventures and professional athlete.
Christie has balanced her professional career with her athletic career, having represented Australia in trampolining, beach volleyball and CrossFit. In this episode we discuss her journey from university and how she got to where she is now. We chat about what it’s like to work in the venture capital industry, including her ‘day in the life’, how it differs from working in a more traditional asset management fund and advice for students wanting to enter. Christie speaks to the increased activity in the venture capital space and what is driving it.
Finally, Christie touches on high performance psychology - the lessons she has learnt from her athletic career on how to achieve your best, and how everyone can apply this to their own careers.
