The Birthchart Introduction
On the following pages you will find an in-depth look at your own individual character and life. At birth the chart represents a set of potentials, with the contents being added through the experiences of life. As this birth chart represents a map of the solar system for the time and place of your birth...it's a blueprint of your personality - unique to you and only you.
Most people are aware of the Sun sign that they were born under, that is, the sign read in a magazine or newspaper relevant to a birthday. However, it's not only the Sun sign that exerts a powerful influence over a birth chart and character. The Moon, the planets, their aspects, zodiac and house positions also play an important role.
But one of the strongest influences of all will be that exerted by the rising sign, also known as the Ascendant. The ascending sign shows the way in which you approach life and helps to shape your self image, general outlook, childhood and to some degree... your health. It also suggests the way in which you are seen by others, or at least their first impressions of you.
As you read through this analysis, you will occasionally notice that contradictory information may be given. This is to be expected, as each individual's character is extremely complex. For example, at times we can be aggressive and confident, and at other times withdrawn and moody. And if planetary patterns seem to be repeated time and time again, that's because the analysis is focusing on a particular and very important strength or weakness within your character.
Personal Interpretation
Ascendant
The ascendant is the beginning of the first house and represents the area of life concerned with our sense of self-identity.
• Sagittarius Ascendant
Possessing the courage of your convictions, other people's opinions won't matter. Believing in yourself, you tend to attract good fortune and unusual opportunities. Ambitions are geared to large scale goals but beware the tendency to take things for granted and assume that everything will go your way.
• Ascendant Opposition Sun
The Sun opposite your ascendant, shows that you have a need to seek approval from others in order to feel good about yourself. The Sun is our self, what we essentially are, with the Sun on the 7th house cusp you need constant feedback from the world in order to feel that you are alright in the eyes of others, and so maintain your self confidence and sense of self worth. You may tend to look up to and admire people who are really no better than yourself, you find it difficult to admire and respect yourself, so you project this on to other people. As a result of this, you may attract people with strong egos who attempt to dominate or control you. You need to be yourself and do your own thing, whatever other people may think you have to live your life for yourself as well as for them.
• Ascendant Trine Mars
The trine between Mars and your Ascendant indicates that you have a great deal of physical energy and drive. You can assert yourself aggressively when the need arises, challenges and competition stimulate you and rouse you into action. While this aspect gives you the stamina and energy to achieve your goals, it does not, of itself, provide the motivation or incentive to do so. As a result, a lot of energy can be wasted in useless activity if you cannot find some purpose or direction in your life. You have strong opinions which you are not afraid to express, but there is a tendency to take over and dominate in conversation.
The Sun
The Sun is your essential self, the centre of your being. It indicates what you are striving to become as an individual.
*Sun In Gemini
With the Sun in the air sign of Gemini, you're usually on the go, and have a natural ability to do two or more things at once. You're forever being accused of being two-faced and having a split personality. Nonsense! It's just that you're faster and more versatile than most, and other people resent this.
However, there is a tendency to change your tack in mid-course; then back again, then back. You'll therefore need to develop the willpower to see a particular course of action through to its conclusion.
There's a restlessness and a need for variety of different contacts and relationships. You also have a need for constant intellectual stimulation, and welcome the opportunity to express your opinions, which you can do very well on a number of different subjects.
*Sun In 7th House
The Sun is in the 7th house of your chart, which represents your self-identity. In this house, there's a need to define who you are through your relationships with others. Occasionally, you'll need feedback and reassurance from others to develop your own self worth. There may also be a tendency to expect too much from relationships, resulting in disappointment when the others don't live up to the image that you project on to them.
*Sun Sextile Mars
This sextile between the Sun and Mars indicates that you have tremendous energy and are eager to get ahead in life. You have the courage of your convictions and will not rest until you achieve your goals.
You can be forceful and direct in expressing your ideas. If you feel you're winning an argument you'll hammer the point home, but you're also willing to admit that you're not always right. Indeed ..if you can see that you're wrong, you'll admit defeat gracefully.
The Moon
The Moon represents the emotional and compassionate side of your nature and your immediate emotional reaction to life's pleasures and problems. It also indicates attitudes instilled in early childhood.
*Moon In Aries
With the Moon in the fire sign of Aries, you're naturally persuasive and can easily attract others to you. You react very quickly to situation around you, but remember to look before you leap!
You're potentially volatile and overpowering, but sincere and loving as well. You have an enthusiasm for life, and a naturally direct approach, but you may occasionally need to develop patience. Other chart factors may show you to be patient and understanding, but if you're caught unexpectedly, or your feelings are hurt, you can surprise yourself and others with the strength of your anger and aggression.
*Moon In 4th House
The Moon is in the 4th house of your chart, the house over which it rules. Both the Moon and the 4th house are concerned with our home life and childhood. With the Moon in this house you'll have a need to establish a secure home life, to which you can retreat from the cares and worries of the world.
Good relations with your family will also be important to you, but you may tend to depend too much on your family for emotional support and comfort. As a parent yourself, you'll want to provide a safe and secure home life for your own children, but must control the urge to be over protective.
*Moon Square Mercury
The square between the Moon and Mercury creates a tension between your emotions and logical common sense. At times, one may be sacrificed at the expense of the other. Also...whilst you're sensitive yourself, you may occasionally express criticism of other people - saying things that cause hurt or offence ..often without you realising it. Try not to be so overly critical of others. Perhaps this stems from past experiences where your own deeper feelings were hurt by unfair or unduly harsh criticism.
*Moon Sextile Saturn
The Moon in sextile to Saturn indicates that you can be reserved and cautious in your feelings for others. You need to understand the people you are close to before you're prepared to reveal your deepest emotions.
Nevertheless, you're dependable and are good at listening to other people's problems...and are willing to help practically, or simply by understanding. You have a common sense approach to practical matters, and can usually organise things to get by even in times of trouble.
Mercury
Mercury represents communication skills and how we think and receive information from others.
*Mercury In Cancer
With Mercury in the water sign of Cancer your mind is both intuitive and receptive. Your innate psychic receptivity enables you to pick up intuitively on what people are thinking and feeling. However, at times, you may tend to think too much about your own feelings, constantly analysing how and why you feel the way you do.
At best, this can give an unusually deep understanding of your own emotional needs. At worst, your rational judgement can be too strongly influenced by your emotions. Nevertheless, you'll make a good listener as you're able to sympathise with and understand the problems of others, followed by advice given from the heart.
*Mercury In 7th House
Mercury, the planet of communication is in your house of relationships and close partnerships. You'll therefore have a need to find a partner who you find physically attractive but an equal priority will be that they're also interesting and intellectually stimulating. You enjoy discussing other people's thoughts and beliefs, as well as expressing your own as you have a genuine desire for mutual communication and understanding.
Mercury, however, can never settle down to one thing, and as different people are interesting in different ways, so you may have difficulty in finding one person to whom you can make a permanent commitment. On the other hand, if you are looking for commitment you may find yourself constantly attracting partners who are unreliable and difficult to pin down. Now, whilst you may be hurt by such actions, deep inside you know that this is really keeping you free.
*Mercury Trine Neptune
Your rational thinking processes, symbolised by Mercury, are in a positive aspect to the imaginative planet Neptune. With this contact you'll therefore have a strong creative imagination, and a highly developed intuition that enables you to jump beyond logic to grasp the basic meaning behind ideas or concepts ..and then to verbalise this meaning in terms that others can understand.
Your thinking is often inspired, with ideas seeming to just come to you without the need for long and concentrated study....in fact even you may be surprised at how well you understand things for which you've had little or no formal preparation.
You would make a good actor, teacher, writer, politician or public speaker since you understand intuitively what your audience needs or can understand...so you're then able to deliver what you have to say accordingly.
You're also generally tolerant of other people's imperfections, and you can inspire others and help them to become aware of a deeper meaning in their lives.
*Mercury Sextile Pluto
With the positive sextile aspect between Mercury and Pluto, you have a deeply analytical mind, and a psychic ability that you're probably not always fully conscious of. Possessing an urge to understand the mysteries of life and death you need, more than most, to find some meaning in life and in your experiences. You seek the truth in all things.
You would therefore be suited to any form of investigation or research, since you're never satisfied with the obvious or superficial solution...you're always looking for some deeper and more inclusive connection between the facts. You will find that people will respect your opinions and your solutions to their problems, since your words will carry an authority and conviction based on a deep and instinctive understanding of the real issues.
Venus
Venus represents how you express your emotions within love, marriage and other personal relationships. It also indicates your attitude towards money, possessions and your aesthetic values.
*Venus In Taurus
Venus in Taurus in your chart indicates a loyal and steady approach to relationships. You'll want to feel stable and secure, and will be happy to reciprocate these needs to your partner. Although at times you can appear quite reserved, this masks a deep and passionate nature. You can be strongly jealous of any situation or person that you feel is a threat to your emotional security.
*Venus In 5th House
With Venus in the 5th house of your chart, you're incredibly creative and romantic. You're the sort of person who's in love with love...and you enjoy the fun side of life. You enjoy the very best in life and feel that if something is worth doing, it's worth doing well. As a parent, children can be a source of pleasure and fulfilment.
*Venus Square Jupiter
With the square between Venus and Jupiter, you may at times give in to self-indulgence, especially when difficulties give you the excuse to neglect duties and responsibilities. In any case, you don't like to be hemmed in by responsibilities. You'll expect a partner to allow you personal freedom, but you may not be too generous in extending the same rights to them.
*Venus Square Saturn
The square between Venus and Saturn indicates some difficulty in the handling of your personal relationships. You may have difficulty in finding a partner who lives up to your rather exacting expectations. Judging the other's faults harshly, you'll not allow anyone to get too close until you feel that they're safe and can be trusted. You don't express affection easily, withholding your feelings out of the fear that they will be rejected.
This feeling may result from experiences as a child as one of your parents, possibly your father, may have been indifferent or difficult to get close to. The rejection you felt then has carried through to the present and you'll therefore approach present relationships warily. On the other hand, the father may not have been around at all.
The way around this conflict is to establish this missing sense of security by achieving something through your own efforts. When you realise that you don't need the support of anyone to make something of your life, you'll feel happier and more secure about yourself.
*Venus Opposition Neptune
With the opposition between Venus and Neptune you'll have to take care not to place unrealistic expectations on your relationships. There's also the danger of attracting partners who are elusive and difficult to pin down. You might see qualities in your partner that aren't really there and fail to see qualities that are there. With this aspect it's therefore advisable to take some time to get to know your partner before any firm commitment is made. Glamour will attract you.
*Venus Trine Pluto
Venus and Pluto in a trine aspect gives a deep intensity to your emotions. The powerful and energy of Pluto charges your personal magnetism with a charismatic quality that makes others attracted to the hidden depths beneath the surface. This same magnetism will easily attract lovers to you...and with this aspect there's every chance that you'll eventually find the right kind of partner with whom you can experience a deeply spiritual and fulfilling relationship.
Mars
Mars represents your sex drive, stamina and how aggressively you assert yourself and express your desires.
*Mars In Leo
Mars is in the fixed fire sign of Leo in your chart, indicating that you can be direct and forceful when it comes to going out and getting what you want. You have a passionate belief in the power of one - yourself - and will often fight for anyone in need. Charities often benefit from your generosity.
You'll tackle difficult situations head on and won't be easily dissuaded from a particular course of action once you have decided on it. However, at times, you may have to make a conscious effort to balance your own needs with the needs of others.
*Mars In 8th House
Fiery Mars in the 8th house indicates a deeply passionate nature. A great deal of energy is put into relationships, but there may also be the occasional tendency to try to be boss...resulting in emotional battles.
In business partnerships, this rather hard-hitting and determined approach can be an asset; but take care not to go too far...as being overly aggressive in business could again lead to unproductive disputes with colleagues, employees or business partners. One more word of warning...if things go wrong ..and you know they were your fault ..don't try to shift the blame.
*Mars Conjunct Uranus
Mars in conjunction with rebellious Uranus makes a pretty dynamic combination. You're fiercely independent, impulsive and self-motivated and when you know what you want, you'll go for it with a tireless energy and determination that will find a way around all obstacles...or crash straight through them! Your emotions can explode at a moment's notice.
You're also not very good at taking advice as more often than not, you have to do things your way or not at all. Others may therefore occasionally regard you as arrogant and reckless, but you need excitement and stimulation, and if your life becomes too routine and boring you are likely to stir things up just for the hell of it.
Your physical desires are strong, and you don't need emotional closeness or involvement in order to satisfy these desires.
You also don't like any restrictions placed on your actions, preferring to be free to act on your own initiative, and in any way you choose. Therefore your insistence on this right will probably end up causing you some conflict with others during your life.
This combination makes your life a constant fight for freedom and independence on one level or another but if you can use this tremendous energy to fight for the freedom and independence of others who, for some reason, cannot fight for themselves, you will be expressing this aspect in its purest form.
Jupiter
Jupiter represents expansion, your sense of fun, optimism and generosity. It also gives information concerning your religious and philosophical beliefs.
*Jupiter In Aquarius
Jupiter in the air sign of Aquarius shows a strong sense of justice and an attraction to various causes. Your philosophical or religious outlook will be humanitarian, and probably different from the established and conventional views. There can, however, be a tendency to overdo the importance of such activities in your own life, leading to an intolerance of anyone or anything that tries to prevent you from expanding in the directions that you want.
*Jupiter In 2nd House
With Jupiter in the 2nd house of your chart you'll enjoy accumulating life's little luxuries. Although the acquisition of money and possessions will not be too much of a problem through your life, it could be a matter of easy come easy go. You're generous and what you earn could be spent just as quickly...so occasionally you'll have to be somewhat discriminating in your generosity and spending.
*Jupiter Conjunct Saturn
The effect of Jupiter and Saturn in conjunction can be summed up as tremendous possibilities ...achieved through hard work. These two planets are, in a sense, opposite influences, Jupiter represents optimism, expansion and good luck...and Saturn is more pessimistic and restricting work.
However...with this combination each balances the excesses of the other. Therefore you're generally able to balance optimism with realism...enthusiasm with caution and extravagance with discipline. You aim to make an impact on the world...but you're also able to plan the next step before you take it.
*Jupiter Square Neptune
With the square between Jupiter and Neptune, you have high ideals...but you may lack the discipline required to make these ideals a reality in your own life. Understanding and sympathetic to others, you may at times unknowingly allow others to take advantage of your good nature.
If you can discipline your imaginative mind, perhaps through meditation or self-analysis, you could gain a great deal more understanding about yourself.
Saturn
Saturn represents your sense of responsibility and limitations. It shows how you react to setbacks and the areas in which you are most fearful and insecure. Nevertheless, it's also the planet that teaches the important lessons of life and can become your greatest strength.
*Saturn In Capricorn
With Saturn in the earth sign of Capricorn you'll have a strong ambition, and a need to achieve something tangible and of lasting worth in your life. Even if other aspects of your personality suggest unconventional behaviour, your attitude toward security may actually be more conventional than you'll care to admit.
You'll also probably have a powerful ambition and drive to achieve, which may not surface fully until your first Saturn return, about the age of 28-30. Indeed, if you can overcome any obstructive personal fears, you have the ability to reach the summit of your chosen career or life's work.
*Saturn In 2nd House
With Saturn in the 2nd house of your chart, you have a powerful need and ability to earn your keep through your own efforts. Even if you come into money through luck or inheritance, you'll still feel a greater sense of satisfaction from what you make through hard work. On the other hand, financial security may at times be hard to come by and only gained through considerable effort.
Uranus
Uranus represents the expression of your need for freedom and independence and the way you choose to experiment with life. Uranus is the motivation behind your future dreams.
*Uranus In 9th House
The planet Uranus stimulates the search for truth, and in the 9th house this search will be in the realm of philosophical and religious thought. You will need to find a philosophical or religious belief system by which to order your life. You'll not, however, be content to accept the beliefs of the past.
You're able to bring new concepts and ideas into whatever field you're working or studying in, although your eager search for knowledge may cause you to suddenly abandon the work you're doing before it's completed.
Travel in foreign lands, and meeting people of other cultures would be particularly beneficial to you, deepening your level of understanding and revealing possibilities that you've been previously unaware of.
Neptune
Neptune represents your spiritual self, dreams, imagination and creative abilities.
*Neptune In 11th House
Neptune in the 11th house of your chart indicates a need to help others less fortunate than yourself. However, there may occasionally be some confusion and uncertainty surrounding friendships. You can attract, and be attracted by friends who seek a deeper meaning in life and an awareness of deeper levels of reality. On the other hand, you may be attracted to friends who seek to escape from dealing with reality through drink and drugs. Most likely your friends will be a mixture of both.
*Neptune Sextile Pluto
This aspect between the two outermost planets first occurred in 1942 and will remain in effect for the next hundred years, although the sign positions of the planets will change, so everyone born during this time will have it in their charts. This contact will therefore affect everyone for the next hundred years and represents changes taking place in the world's collective psyche. The keynote of this entire period will be the complete transformation of our existing scientific, religious and political belief systems.
Pluto
Represents the secretive side of your nature, your obsessions and shows us how to come to terms with and deal with our deepest insecurities.
*Pluto In 9th House
The 9th house of the birth chart is concerned with our search for meaning in life, either through a religion or through travel. Your belief system may at times undergo dramatic changes, where all that you previously held to be true is destroyed, to be reborn on a different level. On the other hand you may react by denying any meaning or purpose to life altogether, taking the view that there is no point to anything since it all ends in death anyway. One way or the other, there's a strong urge to examine these issues and what you find or discover may force you to go through inner changes. Learning from different cultures and traditions could also be of tremendous benefit to you.

Sexuality
The interpretation of the Sun's sign and the other planets i.e. Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter and Saturn can help you to a greater understanding of your capacity for sex, the way you make love, how you think and feel about it. The planets Uranus, Neptune and Pluto reveal our attitudes as a generation, towards sexuality.
The Sun describes what making love means to you.
• Sun In Gemini
You can easily become bored and therefore need lots of variety, actively liking to try new techniques both oral and manual. Sex is not to be taken seriously, it's a fun way to communicate and should be just as mentally stimulating as physically pleasurable. Delicate flights of fancy are preferable to heavy hot passionate scenes. Real love comes through friendship not just sex. You are not happy with the heavy demands of partners and should avoid jealous lovers. You yearn to be free and are very easy going.
Mercury represents the way you think when making love.
• Mercury In Cancer
You are a person who shares sexual secrets and inner desires only with a very special lover. You can tease and sexually arouse your lover, by slowly exposing to them your innermost desires. You can be over serious, reading more into to situations than really exist. You also like emotional privacy, and quiet.
Venus indicates what you value and need most in your lovemaking.
• Venus In Taurus
You need a lover who can satisfy those burning desires, who has the staying power to match your own. Patience and expertise as well as sensuous surroundings are what is needed to take you to that point of ecstasy where you can respond directly to the loaded passions of your partner's endeavours.
Mars represents the driving force of your sexuality.
• Mars In Leo
You are a lover who once aroused is full of exotic energy and vigour for sex, and then it's anything goes and all the way! You make love passionately, in a grand manner offering the delights of your most treasured parts for the total consumption of your adored and deserving lover. Your bountiful energy may overwhelm the more timid of your lovers but they cannot fault your generosity once you've made up your mind to give them your all. You are stylish when in your luxuriant and extravagant mode, but may tend to repeat your love-making once too often, just for your own pleasure!
Jupiter represents your overall capacity for love making.
• Jupiter In Aquarius
You are a lover who can play many roles. These various parts or characters are most beneficial to any sexual relationship that you are involved in. When making love these ways of expression build inextricably and somehow come together in an explosion of electric energy seemingly from nowhere. Each tantalising embrace or manoeuvre may seem strange, but the final coupling can be perfect, all-surrounding.
Saturn represents times when you might feel awkward or inhibited with your lover.
• Saturn In Capricorn
You will begin to feel happier about your love-life when you understand that what is conventional and accepted is relative to a particular time and culture. An achiever, you pride yourself on your ability to focus your attention totally on some worthy goal and then attain it.
