Big stuff happens! Remember what all of the various objects and individuals represent in a symbolic sense.
Just a suggestion ... Read the questions on the sheet before you listen to the chapter. Answer the questions as you go. Just pause if you need to.
Pay attention to what is happeneing with our symbol of civilization (Ralph) and what is happening with our central conflict (Ralph & Jack).
Remember, chapter 5 ended with the boys wanting a sign from the adult world. This is their sign.
This is chapter 5 of Lord of the Flies. It is approximately 37 minutes. Pay close attention to what fear is now doing to their society, which is part of what Ralph is talking about in his meeting.
Chapter 4 is a hugely important chapter and one that will change everything for the boys. Be sure to pay attention to how we see the boys going more and more savage.
