Sandra och Johan Malmsten fick aldrig ett svar om varför de inte kunde få barn. Det gick bara inte. Efter 12 år, flera missfall och behandlingar har de nu en son. De berättar i två delar för Sundsvall Möter Podcast om hur denna resa har påverkat dem.
Sandra förklarar: "Det var det värsta. För det var verkligen att en gång i månaden skulle man totalt brytas ned i alla år. Det sitter fortfarande i. Varje gång jag får mens nu så är det fruktansvärt. Det jobbar jag fortfarande med. Jag var hos psykologen när jag var gravid och då sa han att det troligtvis skulle bli så eftersom det blir som en posttraumatiskt stress. Då är alla lugna och nöjda och då funkar allting väldigt, väldigt bra."

Därför känns det extra bra att då att ha dispuderat och nu är doktor i medie- och kommuniktionsvetenskap. Det kan man säga var en väldigt stor utmaning som jag antog."

Hon berättar: "Utsätt dig för saker du är rädd för. Det är därför han får ta en kniv. Hon säger att han ska ta en kniv och lägga den mot hennes hals eftersom han är rädd för att skära halsen av någon. Förstår du? Hon är så säker och duktig och inläst på tvångstankar att hon vet att det kommer inte hände någonting. Det händer ju inget. Han kastar iväg kniven och gråter. På så sätt märker han att han inte vill det här."

Tina Christoudias-Spyrou is on the podcast today to speak about navigating your thyroid health and “finding your normal” when it comes to lab values. ”Jag hade absolut ett tvång när jag var 14 år. Jag hade inte en pistol mot huvud, men då handlade det om heder. Det är svårt att förklara. En person kan hota med att berätta att du inte har varit en duktig och fin tjej. Att de ska berätta för släkt, familj och framförallt vänner.
Jag skulle få skämmas att jag hade gjort så mycket fel. Bara att jag gick med på det en gång av skuldkänsla till den här personen. Jag är väl skyldig henne att jag skulle träffa den här kunden en gång. Jag kan inte tala till mig själv som 14-åring och säga: ja det var väl intelligent, för trodde inte du att det skulle användas emot dig?"

Om ondska, ilska, hennes föräldrars resa och vad som formar oss.
”Jag har alltid varit gränslös. Kunde bli sjukt arg också. Alla tonåringar är arga, men jag tog det till en ny nivå. När jag var 15 - 16 år blev jag utredd gång på gång. Det var som: ’hon reagerar inte i proportion till det som har hänt. Det är inget tak på ilskan’.
Nu i vuxen ålder, på tal om gränslös. Jag får ofta feedbacken att: ’Du är så ärlig med vad låtarna handlar om. Shit, har du blivit kär i gifta män? Har du påbörjat något med dem? Var du aldrig rädd för att de var gifta. Tänkte du inte på det innan?’. Nä, för att jag tänkte att det en gång kunde gå. Konstigt nog.
Man kanske inte ska säga gränslös utan fri. Det kanske låter bättre?”

"Det påverkar mycket vad vi kallar personer. I mitt arbete, om fokus ligger på nyanlända då tänker vi att det är en person som har kommit precis till Sverige utan att förstå språket och inte har någon aning om vad som händer samhället. Men många nyanlända vi har mött har varit i Sverige en tid, gått på SFI eller andra skolor. De har lärt sig hur delar av samhället fungerar. Vår planering och det vi har satsat på är meningslöst eftersom det inte passar dem längre. Jag kommer förklara för en nyanländ att det här är hur samhället funkar, våra traditioner och här hittar du olika butiker. Men efter ett år så har alla fått den informationen, då kommer de vilja veta vad som händer med min rösträtt, hur fungerar ett banksystem i Sverige och hur jag kan öppna ett sparkonto.
Vi har glömt bort att efter ett år så har vi andra behov, liksom barn. Ett nyfött barn har andra behov en ett barn på ett år.”

Han hade problem med tillit och relationer. Reza förstod till slut varför:
”När jag var 11 år blev jag trakasserad, sexuellt trakasserad av en gammal man. Jag försökte att glömma det. Jag började fokusera på andra saker. Blev verkligen en nörd.
Jag hade problem att lita på folk efter den här händelsen, försökte att verkligen vara ensam. Jag gjorde alla individaktiviteter. Under många år hade jag skaffat en persona som verkligen var individ, individ, individ. Och allt var: ja, det var bra, jag hade en bra relation med människor, men ingen kom nära en viss gräns. Det var samma problem som landade i mitt förhållande. Jag kunde inte låta min flickvän komma nära den gränsen, för att jag inte kunde lita på henne. Det var verkligen omedvetet tills jag gick i terapi och började träffa folk.
Officiell statistik från Iran visar att 60 procent av alla pojkar har blivit sexuellt trakasserade i sitt liv. Det blev en wow-faktor för mig. Någonstans så måste vi ändra på det.”

Trångsyntheten och framförallt den här svepande generaliseringar över att det går inte, samtidigt som det ligger barnskor på en strand för att någon har tappat den, det går liksom inte ihop."
