Hello, I’m Nathaniel, and I’m here to help you out with various things. I’ll mostly focus on historical European martial arts and Dungeons and Dragons, but I’ll touch on other things. I’ve got a lot of content to go through and a rather mediocre life expectancy, so I’ll be doing two, if not three, episodes a week, either here or live on YouTube. Don’t just read about what I’m doing, observe it for yourself.
CR is an inaccurate rating of challenge for a creature. Ditch that XP value and Challenge Rating and throw your party in a world of hurt. Trap them in a collapsed tunnel or stab them from murder holes.
Today, I’m talking about how weapons can influence the way things happen and how you can find an alternative solution to crimes. If you can indiscriminately kill a whole civilization of goblins, can you do it to humans? There are a lot of questions that can be asked like that, and their answers are almost universally morally grey. Today is Tuesday, a “Sharp Tuesday”. Every Tuesday I will be talking about knives, swords, and other sharp implements and how they can be used in a way that respects the peace of the public and is generally safe. On this Sharp Tuesday, I’m talking about some rather different uses of medieval weapons.
For a long time, I’ve longed for a chance to see combat in D&D reflect combat from what I’ve seen. Most of this information comes from watching copious amounts of HEMA and knight fights. It’s possible that this has little to no balance, but I was trying to achieve realism, not balance or playability. Hey, I’m back a little earlier than I thought I’d be, but I want to show you guys the wonderful world of historical weapons and armor.
