Join special guest speaker and founder of ISOM ministries, Dr Berin Gilfillan, for an amazing word!
Join special guest speaker, Pastor Gerald Brooks for an amazing message and a powerful word!
It's hard for us to rebuke an enemy that we are continuously partnering with. If we partner with our sin, we give a foothold to the devil... but if we partner with the spirit, we may rebuke the devil and stand safely on the foundation of Jesus!
How we act as Christians reflects where our heart truly lies. If our actions aren't reflecting Christ, then maybe we need to start by checking where our heart is at and identifying the areas in our life that can use more "flavor", so that we can be the salt of the Earth... the salt that Jesus has called us to be!
In everything we do, we should do our very best to seek wisdom! Our own self wisdom will take us in every wrong direction, but God's wisdom will take us exactly where we are called to be!
As followers of Christ, one of our main missions should be to work for peace... in everything and all we do! The problem is, it's hard to find peace if we are stuck in our pride. Pride is the root, and the roadblock keeping us from peace! Less pride .... more peace!
Join Pastor Hennie as He kicks off the beginning of our summer series, "Be Salty"
“You are the salt of the earth. But if the salt loses its saltiness, how can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything, except to be thrown out and trampled underfoot. You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven." Matthew 5:13-16
Join special guest speaker, Apostle Mike Keyes for a timely message on "the 7 most important words in human history."
How we think about others will ultimately determine the way we will act towards them. So let's shift our mindset and heart posture to a position of love! Once we start thinking in love, we can live in love... and when you live in love, you're living in Gods purpose!
Join pastor Hennie as he continues to walk us through what the bible says about love, the importance of true Godly love, and why we need to start walking in it!
Love is always the answer. God gave His one and only son to die for us because He LOVED the world! We have been given authority and power through Chris Jesus, yet we still lack in those God given gifts. The only way to fully tap into that power is by gaining understanding of the Father's love for us!
God has placed a specific gifting and purpose right in the palm of our hands. Sometimes, He has to ask and remind us what is in our hand... not for his knowing, but for ours. So what will we do with what He's given us? Will we step up and make the sacrifices that are necessary to advance the kingdom of God here on Earth? Let's use what we have to our best ability to pursue God's purpose!
Being Planted is crucial for our spiritual growth... in order to grow higher and deeper. Our time is limited and God has a mission for us, but we can't further our mission if we are not planted! Let's fully carry out the responsibilities the Lord has entrusted us with!
The difference between a finished life and an unfinished life is as simple as "the Lord's will be done" or "my will be done". So why go through life unfinished, doing things our own faulty way, when we can finish this life doing everything God's perfect way!
Those who are faithful with little will be faithful with much... and we always tend to want "much" or "more", but how can we even be given more, if we can't even be faithful to handle the little we have? God has much for us, but He's only going to give you what YOU can handle, and even more so, what YOU are faithful with.
God's plan for our life is greater then we could ever imagine. He has strategically placed us within the body to serve a specific purpose. In doing so, it's not going to look the way we want it, but the way He wants it! No matter how much we don't understand, or even how uncomfortable we are... He's working it all out for OUR greater good and for HIS glory!
God has called us to live accordingly to the plan and purpose He has for our life... to bring the the message of Christ to all of the world, giving Him glory in all that we do! The problem is... life is short, so are we making the most of it? Are we being willing and obedient in every area of our lives, and doing so with a good attitude and a good heart? We can't control the length of our lives, but we can control what we contribute in our lives!
What would faith be in life, without the trials and challenges that we face? James 1:2-3 says, "Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance." For it is the trials that test our faith, but through the hearing of the word, is where our faith is produced!
We have been created in God's image to imagine things on the inside of us, yet with our imaginations, we tend to lean towards or "image" the negatives... such as worrying. With worry at the root, it creates a picture of fear... but with hope, it paints a picture of faith! So why worry? Join Pastors Jim & Deborah as they tackle the issue of worry, and show us how we can be free from it... because where the spirit of the Lord is, there is Freedom!
We have been chosen by Christ to be world changers and bringers of the gospel! We are called to bring love and unity to the church, and the entire world... but in order to do so we need to make some changes. Join Pastor Landen as he shows us why more than ever, we need to respond to the call that God has for us, the body of Christ!
The God we serve is limitless, which means there is truly no limit to what He can do... for us and those around us. But how can we truly experience the limitless wonders of God, if we stay stuck in just what's comfortable for us? God has great plans in store, but in order to fulfill those plans, He wants to stretch us... which means stepping outside of our comfort zones!
Often times in life, we tend to handle our problems all by ourselves, or with the wrong people... Yet God calls us to rely fully on Him, and through that He brings in the right people to have in our lives, and in our corner! But in order to do that, we need to shift our focus and eliminate the distractions in our lives.
The biggest problem we will ever have to face is death. So if death is the biggest problem, and Jesus overcame it... then shouldn't He be able to take care of any other problem that we may face in life? Join pastor Joe as he takes us through life's problems and shows us how Jesus is the answer... before we even ask the question.
It's real easy to become victims through our problems and pain. But God hasn't called us to be victims, He's called us to be victors! Join pastor Hennie as he continues to show us how we can find refreshment through Godly reflection.
As we get ready for the new year it is a time for us to reflect on the past year and look forward to what God is going to do in 2022. Join us for the last Sunday of 2021!
Often times in our faith journey, our immediate response to a problem is running to everything outside of God, before we actually come to Him... when in reality, He should be the very first thing we resort to. Join Pastor Landen as he shows us the importance of going to "the source" vs everything else.
With God, comes infinite blessing... Yet, through His blessings, we find ourselves often complacent, ungrateful, and not so thankful. Join Pastor Joe as he takes us through the "Monotony of Manna" showing us how we can take our thankless attitude and turn it into daily gratitude.
Faith is the foundation of what we believe, and live in. With faith, comes obedience... making it's antagonizer disobedience. Join Pastor Hennie as he takes us through the scripture, showing us how the simple act of disobedience can hinder our foundation of faith.
The word is foundation in our faith. However, sometimes we are listening to the wrongs things. We see that God created the world the framework of his work, however if we discredit his word we ultimately will have a skewed perspective. However, we gain faith through God’s word. Join Pastor Hennie as he takes us through a journey on God’s word.
When we hear spiritual warfare we often think about the defensive strategies we need to take, However, when it came to spiritual warfare with Jesus, he was always on the offensive. Join Dr. Joe LoMusio as he shares strategies for Christians to overcome the Devil.
There is no room for fandom in the Kingdom of God. In order for us to move from fan to follower, we have to first understand the cost. Join Pastor Landen as he dives into Luke chapter 14.
Truth has become a hot-button topic in today's world. So many people fighting for their idea of truth. However, does absolute truth exist? Join Dr. Joe LoMusio as he shares insights into truth.
Jesus is the vine and we are the branches. However, many people aren't rooted in Christ and their vine comes from an unworthy seed. In order to grow to the place Christ has for us we have to be rooted in him.
We must strip off all the weight that is hindering our race for Christ, ESPECIALLY the sin that trips us up. Pastor Hennie shares with us how sin brings nothing but destruction in our life. It will keep you longer than you want to stay, take you deeper than you want to go, and cost more than you want to pay.
Pastor Hennie shared with us the power of faith in our lives. However, so many of us struggle with doubt. We identified two effects of doubt in our lives: cynicism and skepticism. In order to overcome these effects, we have to gain a revelation of what faith truly is. Faith is the currency of the Kingdom. Faith is how we move what is in God’s hand into our hands. Join us as we grow in our faith!
Pastor Landen reminds us that procrastination doesn't just pertain to schoolwork. Join us as we deal with the root causes of procrastination and figure out ways we can move forward in God's plan for our lives.
Join Pastor Landen as he shares how the habits in our life can propel us to our destiny or lead us to destruction.
Join us for a special conversation about the importance of fatherhood. Pastor Hennie gathers a panel together to discuss their stories with fathers.
Mercy, something we love to receive, but find it so difficult to give. When Jesus said, "They are blessed who show mercy to others, for God will show mercy to them." (Matthew 5:7 NCV) It was a powerful statement. What is mercy? Mercy is being willing to give to others what they don’t deserve. Mercy treats everybody the way that God treats me. Jesus says, if I refuse to treat people the way He treats people, I would have to face God’s judgement and not receive God’s mercy. The question we have to ask ourselves: “Do we want judgment or mercy?”
Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness. What are you hungry for? Are you hungry for the things of God or the things of this world. When we truly understand how good God is, we will find it very easy to hunger and thirst after Him.
Matthew 5:5 (NIV) Blessed are the meek, for they will inherit the earth. Who wants to be known as a spineless, shy, frightened, spiritless, weak and weak-kneed wimp? Is that what Jesus was saying to them and to us? Not even close, not even in the same stratosphere. Our problem, just like theirs, is the fact that we have equated meekness with weakness. Meekness is the most identifiable character trait, whereby we show that we are followers of Jesus!
It is time for the church to be the church! We need to be persistent and resilient in our prayers. Don't quit in hard times; instead, pray all the hard. We won't stop, we won't give up, but we will belive that God will take care of us.
Let us not miss our day of visitation. We have to remember that just as Jerusalem celebrated Jesus' entry into the city, they mocked him all the way to the cross. During this season, we have to remember that our hope is found in Jesus and cling to him like never before.
Worry is like a rocking chair, it gives us something to do, but it never takes us anywhere. The Bible tells us not to worry, but to pray! Are we being prayer warriors or prayer worriers? Prayer fuels the joy in our lives. During these crazy times are we going to choose joy or worry? The choice is yours to make.
What happened to passion in our prayers? It is almost like we pray weak, anemic prayers. That is not how God intended our prayer lives to be! We should be praying bold, passionate prayers that shake the world.
Why is it that we as Christians struggle to pray? Prayer fuels our relationship with God. Prayer produces courage in our lives. As Pastor Hennie shares the word this week, prepare your hearts for a challenging but powerful message.
In Exodus chapter 4, God asks Moses a great question, "What is in your hand?" Many times in our lives, we can feel like what we have isn't good enough that we are not adequately equipped to handle what is before us. However, when God asked Moses this question, he was giving us a guide to our own lives. That all we have is all, we need.
Submission is one of the most misunderstood words of the English language. We have become so programmed to think that it is a curse word of a sort. However, we find through the word of God that submission frees us rather then imprisons us. Join us as Pastor Landen shares about the story of Moses and how we are all in need of a current update.
Love must be our highest goal. God's metric system is simply how we are measured in being like Jesus. Maturity is essential to the life of a believer. Are we becoming more like Jesus by becoming more mature, or are we satisfied in the current status of our lives? When compared to knowing Jesus, everything else is a loss.
This week we take a look into God's metric for maturity. The thing Christians should always measure to, which is Jesus. And to be like Jesus, we have to go through what Jesus went through. Maturity is always on purpose, and it only happens through careful and attentive work.
Everyone needs "soul food." No, not the music or even the actual food, but things that feed your soul. Weary souls make for weary people. So what are you putting in your soul? Join us as we go through a guide into feeding our souls with the right nourishment.
We are experts in stating what we believe but novices in living it out. This week we are challenged to look at our life tree. From heart to reward, every part of the tree means something different. To bring about change, we have to be honest about where we are at. Start today with a plan for change and see where God takes you this year!
Change can be difficult, but it is essential in our lives. Change cause conflict, it causes resistance, in creates uncertainty, and it challenges relationships. However, when we walk in the lights of God, we see the truths of God's word. So start to walk in the light!
We are all traveling somewhere; the question is where. Where does the path you are on end? As we go into the new year, we prepare for a change in our lives. Nothing new can come from maintaining the status quo. So as we prepare for 2020, we have to ask hard questions to get us ready for what God has in store for us.
We have been on this journey of the characters in the Christmas story, and today we talk about the wise men. While they may not have the most screen time in the story, their lives and journey share some critical biblical truths.
As we continue our Great Wait series, we take a journey into the life of Joesph. Even though Joesph's life wasn't recorded in great detail, we still have the right amount of info to piece some essential biblical truths.
We are to live in harmony with everyone. So many times, we have discord with people inside and outside of the church, but that isn't the life Jesus intended for us. Pastor Hennie shares from Romans 14 and Romans 15 on how we are to live our lives with each other.
What do you do when you face incredible challenges and problems? Everyone has issues; the reality is that we don’t always deal with them the right way. How we handle our issues, says a lot about who we are as people. When we mishandle situations, it shows our level of maturity. To face our problems, we have to face them with God because we can do all things through Christ who strengthens us.
As thanksgiving looms over our shoulders, we must remember what it means to live a life of thanks. We can become so preoccupied with things that don’t matter, but in this season, we must fix our hearts and give thanks for all that God has given us. We need to stand to attention all the things that God has done for us. Sometimes we focus too much on the prosperity, instead of focusing on what God has done.
When it comes to God's grace we sometimes think we need to earn it. However, the amazing thing about God is that he gives it to us freely. It is our responsibility to receive it.
As we come to the conclusion of our generation campaign we look to the future. Guest speaker Pastor Luke Cobrae shares what it means to give God our first. If we want to be a united generation, we must first seek after God with everything within us.
We aren't perfect people. Whether you are Gen X or Millennials, all of us have our challenges. But as time has changed so must our approach with each other. Pastor Hennie and Pastor Miranda share practical ways to reach out to the next generation.
Do you find it challenging to connect with other generations? This week we have 2 Rock Youth Ministry Leaders, and three students share practical tips on how we can all connect better.
What Is Kingdom Culture? Simply put, kingdom culture is being and living like Jesus. To have kingdom culture it means having our identity in Christ Jesus. We have to Godly character in order to embrace kingdom culture. We have to live it in order to pass it on.
What are the things dividing us? Many divides have been created in the generations right now. This week a panel of different people from different ages tackle this topic. Looking at jobs, relationships, and fear, we look at four different perspectives to build bridges between the generations.
What Is your generation responsible for? As we continue our generations campaign we take a look into the lives of Moses and Joshua, we find that both had certain responsibilities as the leaders of their generation. Not all generations are called to the same thing, but all are called in some capacity.
The start of our generations campaign! God is not over one generation but all of them. Four different generations represented — all of us having a conversation about how we can relate to one another better.
Look at the life of Jesus. Jesus was always humble. He was able to be humble because He knew exactly who He was. Jesus washed the feet of His disciples. That’s the ultimate act of humility. He was only able to do that because He was very secure in his position. He knew who He was, whose He was and what He was here on earth to do. Love is not conceited or proud. We have to demonstrate love, through loving humility.
Love is personal self-sacrifice. Love isn't a feeling or an emotion. It may create feelings and emotions, but it isn't confined to those things. Our highest pursuit is and should always be love.
What matters most to God? Love! Love must be our highest goal; it keeps no record of wrong; it does not envy it does not boast. Love should be the number one objective in your life. Love isn't a part of your life; love is your life. Without love, life is empty, so let's walk in love with all we do!
As we conclude on hope there is an important thing we have to learn. We have to get free from past pains in order to accomplish what God has for us. It starts by changing your heart.
If you don’t have hope for the future, you don’t have power for the present. Things will get better, but you have to have hope that they will get better. And if you become hopeless, then you lose all hope, and you lose all power. Hopelessness can kill you. So as we continue speaking on hope, it’s a reminder that you live a life of hope.
Moving past hopelessness means we must put our hope into action. To move beyond spiritual immaturity, we need to be confident in our hope. Hope, in and of itself, changes nothing. Actions do. Hope can be the catalyst for the change, but actions are what get us there.
Hope is the confident expectation of the future God promised that fuels my faith in Christ and my love for others. We can live 40 days without food, three days without water, but we can’t live a single day without hope. Many things can come against us to give up on hope. However, when we put our faith in God, we can be reliant on the hope that he supplies.
Faith is being fully persuaded that God is fully in control of my future. If you are going to operate in the kingdom of God, you need faith. Our lives should be completely given to God because God can do far more then we can even imagine. However, we have to have faith in order to give our lives to God.
Have you ever thought about how we can activate the gift of faith that God has given us? We learned that faith is not passive, but something we need to use in our everyday life. We were reminded about the many people that had faith in the Bible and what their outcomes were because they believed and trusted in God.
Faith is a journey. As with all journeys, there has to be a destination. If you are not clear on where you are supposed to end up then you will always be confused. We are to remain strong in our faith in order to receive for what God has for us.
We need faith for the battle and faith in the struggle. However, sometimes, things occur in the lives that cause us to grow fatigued. We see circumstance fatigue and character fatigue as everyday struggles. If we are to live by faith and fight by faith, then we have to have our eyes on God. Being fatigued is a product of us doing too much by ourselves, instead of trusting that God will supply all that we need.
Trusting in God is the firm foundation for everything. What is trusting in God? Faith! Faith is being fully persuaded that God is in control of the outcome of my future! We must cultivate and built through an Intimate relationship with God. The greater the trust or faith, the greater the intimacy and the greater the intimacy the greater the trust.
Faith is knowing that God is in control of the outcome of our future. We gain spiritual ground by faith, because it attacked the problem head on. David was willing to face Goliath head on. The armies were hiding and fearful, but David went straight to the giant.
This Father's Day we had such an incredible move of God. Pastor Hennie poured out to us and addressed the father wound that so many of us carry. Some of us hear the word father we celebrate, but others have such a negative experience with it. However, we have a Heavenly Father who gives us safety, love, grace, and compassion. The Father is always waiting for us to take that step toward him.
We have been building an understanding of kingdom economics. The root of this is that love gives. Money is neither good nor bad; it merely obeys the person who controls it. Money shows what we value and what we despise. We must use the funds for kingdom purposes. Money shows the type of people we are. When we give ourselves entirely over to Christ, we see money as a tool and not as a boss.
The spirit of generosity is wholly founded on love, but it is so much higher than just with money. However, we can become so full of excuses that hinder God's blessing in our lives. Just like Moses was so unsure about himself, he questioned why God would choose him. However, God asked him what was in his hands, because even though it was just a staff, God was going to do something powerful with it. We have to stop looking at excuses in our lives and use what is in our hands.
What if we choose to live our lives in such a way that the only explanation that makes sense is because of our faith in Jesus Christ! "Apart from faith in Christ, there is no explanation of such a life." We see in Mattew it says, “So those who are last now will be first then, and those who are first will be last.” Do you want to be first now and last when it matters or are you willing to be last now so you can be first when it truly matters?
Is tithing just an Old Testament principle that we have made a rule of the church, or is there something greater about it? Tithing is the only thing that God says we can test him in. We find that tithing is a test. We can't first receive a blessing from God without being obedient to the tithe. We need to honor God where he has placed us.
We’re all in different places when it comes to finances, but the wisdom of God’s Word applies to us all. We learn from the widow in 2 Kings that we need to start with God, consider what we have, and to act decisively even if it feels uncomfortable. God has a plan to bless your finances and unleash a spirit of generosity in you! But his plan requires our participation.
Everyone has storms in their life. And there are many types of storms, but instead of looking to people or things we look to God. Guest Speaker Pastor Gerald Brooks, the Founder of Grace Outreach Center in Plano, Texas, brings us a fresh perspective on how to face storms with a kingdom mindset.
Why does Jesus sacrifice matter? Listen as Pastor Hennie takes us on a journey of answering such a question. Celebrating the resurrection power of Christ that will impact us for eternity.
We have to start with giving! If we want God's favor and blessing we have to obey his word. Obedience is the highest expression of faith and love. By following God's word, we allow him to work in our lives. Giving always supersedes managing, generosity isn't just about managing what you have, but creating room so that God can bless you more and in turn, you get to bless others more.
Kicking off Holy Week, we look at three examples of life change found in our church. Join us through these journies as Amy, Tanner, and Warren share their testimonies of life change through Jesus Christ.
The greatest challenge to living generously as greed. The self-serving nature of greed prevents generosity and faithful stewardship of the resources God entrusts to believers. We see Luke 12 as a model for breaking free from the power of greed and unleashing a spirit of generosity.
We say because we love God all day every day and in every way, we can’t help but grow daily, serve daily and reach daily. We live our lives loving, growing, serving and reaching. We do not stop because we cannot stop who we are! There is no switch or season, where we do one or two and not the other. We cannot turn our God loving off, or our Christ growing, or our other people serving or reaching our world, because that is who we are! And by practicing this we simply are being who we are!
God has called ALL of us, not some of us. It is our responsibility to answer this call. In order for us to reach our world we have to be obedient to the call. Just as Jesus called us through the great commission to make disciples we have to step out. We may not be able to change the world, but we can change our world.
Serving is so important to our relationship with Christ. Serving is not simply something I do but it is who I am. You cannot divorce serving from the Christian to do that is to divorce Christ from the Christian. It says in 1 Peter 4:10 that, "God has given each of you a gift from his great variety of spiritual gifts. Use them well to serve one another." We are to use these gifts to show the love of Christ to the world by serving in our local church, in our homes, and in our communities.
Growth is always intentional, never by accident. Growth is always by purpose, not by chance. Growth is not an automatic thing but a necessary thing. To grow is to change, if you are changing for the better you are growing up regardless of the way you feel.
You don’t have to feel your way through growth, you can know your way in growth. It is very obvious and measurable according to Scripture. We grow by Following Jesus – Following Jesus simply means learning from Him, how to live my life and do the things that empowers me to live in the fruit of the Holy Spirit. That’s what we call discipleship and for us as Christ followers it is nonnegotiable! As Dietrich Bonhoeffer so eloquently put it: Christianity without discipleship is always Christianity without Christ.
What does it really mean, to love God? Many of us are fans of Jesus, but being a fan is superficial. Loving God means placing him in the center of our lives. Allowing him to touch anyone and anybody rotating and revolving in our lives.
We have to make efforts to grow our faith! How do we do that? By working with joy in our lives. Not all things bring us joy or are enjoyable, but if we engage with God in everything we do, we will have his joy. God is working in us to create desire and ability, and by partnering with God in our faith, we will grow and have great joy!
We don't have to earn the grace of God, because he has freely given it to us. So many times we serve God with the idea of working for our salvation, but that isn't the case in Christianity. Jesus didn't die to make us valuable; he died to prove how valuable we are.
We are called to live in freedom. Sin will take you further than you want to go and cost you more than you want to pay, Whether it is a sin that is obvious, or beneath the surface, we have to reject it in all forms. But before we confront it in other people, we must face in our hearts.
We all have at some point in time desired to change. Whether it is a spiritual matter, a relationship, a way of responding, or simply the way we were thinking. Change is hard! It is one thing making a decision, it is another managing that decision on an ongoing basis. We have to recognize that we are in a spiritual battle and our mind is the battlefield. What we arm our minds with, will determine our success or failure. Preparing our minds with the right arms, helps us to move from despondency to hope and ultimately victory!
Dealing with stinking thinking starts with us expelling the toxic thinking in our minds. When we have negative thoughts, the more we feed them the more they will grow. Stop feeding the negative thoughts in your life.
Don't copy the customs of this world, but instead renew your mind by changing your thoughts. The question we ask ourselves is how do we build healthy thinking? It is simple, by recognizing that it is all about the soil. The soil of your mind is either good or bad; it is up to you to choose the ground in which the seeds are sowed.
Our thought lives can make or break us. We have to begin to think about the thoughts that run through our mind. We have to control our thoughts because are feelings come from our thoughts. When we have an unhealthy thought life, it leads us into sin, but when we allowed God to renew our minds, we can resist temptation.
This new year we need to identify where we are so that we can know where we are going. You then have to identify what are the tools you need to grow. There are many principals that we see from scripture, but one of the greatest things we need to build is sight because without sight we can’t anticipate making the adjustments that we need.
As we look into the new year, a common question that we ask is, where do I start? The first place we have to start is by eliminating hurry from our lives. We need to be intentional about gaining a good sight that only God can provide.
God's timing is everything! When we look into the scriptures and see the time and place where Jesus was born we realize that God knew exactly what he was doing. God has it all planned out. This principle applies to our own lives too. Be encouraged that God has a plan for you, even though you may not understand it completely.
We matter to God. We see time and time again the people are defined by their jobs or positions, but you aren’t. We see this through the example of the shepherds. The announcement of the Jesus wasn’t to majesty, but it was too ordinary people. It doesn’t matter if we are the rejects of society because we matter to God.
We love to imagine the Christmas story as a peaceful time, but the truth is that it was chaos. Between the birth, Herod, and the consensus the birth of Christ was hectic. However, in the midst of chaos, there is hope. God sent Jesus into a chaotic world because he wants to show us that he can handle all of our messes. Jesus coming to earth was good news for all people.
We must live our lives in such a way that honors God in both private and public. When we say we believe something but don’t live it out, we are a stumbling block for people who aren’t believers. We want to live honorable lives before God and before people.
While we may be passionate about some people, God is passionate about all people. It is our responsibility to be peacemakers, not troublemakers. When we have the ability and opportunity to be a blessing we must do so. God doesn’t just want you to be blessed he wants you to be a blessing.
When we serve Jesus, we have to use our brain as much as our heart. Some people think that Christians are all about spiritual and not about the intellectual. Common sense and wisdom are an integral part of our lives. We must use good common sense just as the Proverbs writer tells us.
We are called to live an honorable life, but we do that through wisdom. True wisdom comes from Jesus. If Christ isn’t our pursuit, then we will miss out in the divine wisdom that he provides. Jesus is our wisdom and power, and he enables us to live a life filled with wisdom. He must increase, we must decrease.
Discipline can be an intimidating word. However, when it comes to our relationship with God, it is an integral part of it. We have a propensity towards sin, so we must be open to the correction that the Lord provides.
Giving has become a taboo subject in the church today. However, if the scriptures point to one thing, it is that God always wants more for you than he wants from you. Giving is a matter of heart more than it is a matter of actions. We put our faith in our stocks, the economy, or even our 401k, but isn’t it time we put our faith in God?
Sometimes we become to wise in our own eyes, but the Proverb writer makes it very clear. We must practice humility. By walking a life in humility we build up a awe and holy fear of the Lord. Fearing the lord allows us to walk in his wisdom.
We notice that we honor God when we trust him with all our heart and trust in him. The blessing comes from honor God, because he will direct our paths. By honoring God we value his will for us.
We live in a world that has separated kindness and truth, but the Bible shows us that truth and kindness go hand in hand. Check out today’s message as we learn how to incorporate both kindness AND truth in our lives.
What does it mean to honor or treasure God’s Word? It might surprise you to know, that the emphasis in the Bible is not on studying, but on remembering, meditating or pondering it. The problem is not that we are stupid, but that we are forgetful. A lot of us know quite a bit, but we don’t enjoy and soak in it. Thereby we don’t apply it and live beneath the life that is available to us....
Throughout Scripture, we see you again and again that it is our responsibility to practice on her in everything we do and say. We are told to honor God, honor Gods Word, honor people, honor our civic leaders, honor our spiritual leaders, honor our parents; we are told to build honor in every aspect of our lives. Honor makes things work! Imagine with me for a second if everybody that you know, suddenly decide to live a life of honor. How would that change things? Real honor is more about my character than it is about someone else’s behavior!
There is no such thing as a problem-free life. Life is full of ups and downs, highs and lows challenges, difficult circumstances and difficult people. Jesus reminds us that we can have the greatest life stance even in the midst of a negative world. In John 16 Jesus says to cheer up despite our challenges. Why, because he has overcome the world. How can we live positively in a cynical world? By following the example that we see the apostle Paul leaves us in the book of Philippians where Paul continually reminds us to live a life of joy despite our challenges
When we live within the space God created for us, we truly discover life without limits. Living in His presence, produces, refreshing, renewal, direction, power, protection and freedom! The question is are we willing to SLOWDOWN to be in His presence?
Life can be crazy, but as Christians we know that rest is a vital part of our lives. Pastor Hennie shares with us what it truly means to rest in God.
Pastor Luke takes us a step deeper this week. Teaching from Joel, he shares the importance of walking with God and how God is closer than we may think.
