Its All In The Feeling by Jacquie Forde

Women are a marvel. We juggle careers, families, relationships, and let’s be honest—sometimes entire civilizations (or at least it feels that way). And yet, beneath all the multitasking and magic-making, there’s an invisible force quietly shaping how we experience life: thought. Thought is like that friend who means well but sometimes won’t stop talking. It can uplift us, hold us back, or keep us stuck in old stories we didn’t even write. We all have a drama queen going on in our heads. If you’ve ever gone from “I’ve got this” to “I should live in a cave and never speak again” in the span of five minutes, you know how powerful thought can be. Our minds love a good soap opera. But here’s the thing: not every thought is telling the truth. Some of them are just echoes of old fears, societal pressures, and—let’s be real—your mother’s voice reminding you to wear a cardigan.

Grandma's Emotional Baggage by Jacquie Forde

View Details

Have you ever noticed how the words we use can subtly keep us trapped in our experiences, even when we think we’ve moved on? We often use language like “I’m stuck,” “I’ll never be free of this,” or “This pain is part of who I am.” Without realizing it, these words can reinforce the idea that we are defined by our trauma.Trauma isn’t just a mental or emotional burden—it lives in the body, and sometimes, the very words we use keep us hypnotized by it. Healing requires not only addressing the body and mind, but also breaking free from the language patterns that hold us back. The Unseen Impact: Trauma and the Language of Being "Stuck"Let me introduce you to Clare. She came to me after years of traditional therapy, believing she had “processed” her trauma. But she constantly said things like, “I’m still carrying the weight of the world on my shoulders,” and sure enough, she physically felt that weight in her body—her shoulders were always tight and tense. Clare’s language kept reinforcing the idea that she was stuck in her trauma, and because of that, her body hadn’t let go of it.Once we began somatic work, combined with addressing her language, Clare’s story started to shift. Instead of saying, “I can’t let this go,” we worked on language that acknowledged her resilience. Her body responded to this new story, and the tension in her shoulders slowly released. She finally felt a sense of lightness—both mentally and physically. The words we choose matter. They hypnotize us into believing that trauma defines us, that healing is out of reach, or that we’re “broken.” When we change our language and address how trauma is stored in the body, we open the door to real, lasting healing.

Imagine your body as a highly advanced storage system—not just for memories, but for emotions, stress, and yes, trauma. Your muscles, fascia, and nervous system are quietly holding onto a mental archive of everything you've experienced—whether you remember it or not. And here’s the kicker: your conscious mind might not even know it.Let’s dig in.The Science of Stored TraumaYou know how out of nowhere, your neck locks up like it’s trying to make a point or your shoulders suddenly feel like they’re carrying bags of bricks? Sure, we could blame bad posture or too much time at a desk. But more often than not, these aches and pains are physical manifestations of stored, unprocessed trauma—both the obvious kind (like accidents or loss) and the more subtle kind (chronic stress, neglect, etc.).When we encounter trauma or stress, our body activates the fight, flight, or freeze response through the autonomic nervous system. This releases stress hormones like cortisol and adrenaline. Ideally, once the threat has passed, our body returns to baseline, and the energy is discharged. But if the trauma isn’t processed, the nervous system doesn’t fully reset. Instead, the body stores that unresolved energy, like pausing in the middle of a movie but never pressing play again. Over time, this "frozen" energy gets locked into our tissues, manifesting as muscle tension, chronic pain, or even digestive issues. But what if I told you trauma doesn’t just live in the body? Understanding how our thoughts and emotions interact with these physical symptoms can bring a whole new dimension to healing.

As a family we are experiencing a difficult time with one of my daughters husbands abandoning her and their two wee babies in the most callous and selfish way possible. Not many people understand that the human mind has two main functions; a thinker and a prover.Whatever the thinker thinks, the prover proves that thought to be true. So, if a person thinks they are stupid, their prover proves that thought to be true. If a person thinks they are clever, the prover will prove that to be true also.Over time, the circumstances of your life come into line with whatever you have been thinking.Sound far fetched?Your life conditions are a result of what you have been thinking and feeling over time. One of my clients, Isabelle was a 1st year university student when I met her for the first time. She was delightful, gregarious and incredibly intelligent both emotionally and intellectually but there was a dark secret she had kept hidden about herself for over 8 years.Like many young women Isabelle fell prey to the idealistic standards of how she should look, what she should wear and how she should present herself to the world from a very early age. Her generation was the first to be fully exposed to smart media, social media and everything else the internet and streaming television can bring into your life. She was seduced by the beauty of models, clothes designers and her older peers and imagined them all having the most wonderful life because of how they looked and presented themselves to the world. In her adolescent thirteen year old mind Isabelle made a decision that this was the life she desired above everything else. She wanted to look, sound and be exactly the same as the images of the women surrounding her.Utterly doable for a thirteen old right? Of course not. Her adolescent body was transforming as the hormonal changes that rage through our systems in our teenage years establish the next phase of our physicality, preparing us for motherhood. Her breasts grew far bigger than the models she adored, her tummy became rounded and wobbly. Her thighs and hips laid down fat deposits. You see puberty is a sequence of events in which physical changes occur, resulting in adult physical characteristics and the capacity to reproduce. Isabelle did not like what was happening to her and despised the changes that were unfolding in her body. Her body did not look like the women she admired. She became obsessed with staying slim..... This weeks podcast discusses the benefits of emotional regulation across the generations to understand ourselves more fully and heal the past.I use examples within my family to highlight how easy it was for previous generations to misunderstand their lives and mental health because there was a distinct lack of information to educate and inform them that their experiences were normal and not something to be stigmatised. The principles are the foundation of our experience and understanding them more fully really helps us to live a more rounded, healthy and joyful life with less anxiety and disturbance.I am running my next guided class of Exploring The Principles starting May 22nd. This week's podcast is a belter as we say in Scotland meaning it is a wonderful episode that I can't recommend highly enough that you listen into...that is if you want to become more conscious, aware and less stressed by life.In this episode as I speak to the authors we are discussing their new book which I thoroughly enjoyed reading and believe that you will enjoy reading it too. It is called,"The Complete Book of Awakening" and trust me its COMPLETE with lots of experiments, questions, playfulness and oodles of love and playfulness which you know I love and enjoy guiding you all towards in your quest to become Unashamedly Human. Take a listen in and if you enjoy the podcast you can buy the book here...https://thoughtfulraven.co.ukAnd find out more about Helen and Sara below:Helen Amery Helen's primary focus is to guide others in their awakening and enlightenment. After my own journey through corporate HR, then psychology-based coaching, I realised there was something more fundamental going on. It opened the door to something I never thought I'd have in my life - a spiritual understanding. It led me to the recognition of who I really am - who we all really are - awakening. And to how we can experience life in a much easier, more light-hearted way - enlightenment. My passion now is to bring that to more people with a practical, 'normal' person approach. helen.amery@wildfigsolutions.co.uk,Sara Priestley Sara had a career in corporate IT before leaving to become a massage therapist and then Pilates teacher. These reinforced for her the inward path of knowing who we are for ourselves, which led her to The Three Principles and then into nonduality. She now hangs out with her little cat colony, drinks a lot of coffee, helps clients solve life problems, supports people who have been hurt by cult-like groups, hosts her local poetry society’s online gatherings, reads, writes, teaches nonduality, serves on the board of the Association for Spiritual Integrity, explores emerging voices in this field, and plays with this expanded understanding of who we are and how it shows up.sara@livinglifesideways.co.ukAs always you can join my mailing list at www.jacquieforde.com. My guest this week is Linda Ford who is a master coach, author, and incurable optimist who imagines a world in which people wake up every day knowing who they really are, their value, and their worth, so that they can live out the vision they have for their life.

Linda experienced a radical transformation with her life-long struggle with insecurity, imposter syndrome, and hiding out and playing small in all areas of her life – and all of it has led her to her life’s work today.

At the heart of her work is helping people awaken and accelerate their magnetism for life, love, and business by changing their relationship with insecurity, the fear of being seen and heard, and of putting themselves “out there”.

She is the co-author of the Kindle best-selling book:

In this episode I am talking with a dear friend and colleague about a mahoosive challenge she has just pulled together called, "A Life Less Serious" a project I am incredibly delighted delighted to have contributed to by writing a chapter on my own experience of The Three Principles in a Business setting.

What becomes possible when you see beyond the stories you tell yourself and others?

How can you face your ultimate challenges without the weight of the world on your shoulders?

Touching on health, relationships, work and travel, women from different backgrounds and stages of life share personal stories that reveal much about our relationships with ourselves, with each other and with the world.

A life Less Serious is a collection of stories collated into a powerful book that in my opinion stands heart head with Chicken Soup For The Soul it is : Real life stories from women to inspire, uplift and encourage new perspectives on living

From unlearning the habits of a lifetime, to dealing with personal challenges in unexpected and refreshing ways, like many of us, these women have been on the ultimate quest to feel better about themselves, only to find the answer is closer to home than they ever imagined.

You’ve been criticising and berating yourself for years, and it really hasn’t worked. Somewhere in you, you feel you deserve to be kept small, hunched, on edge; the soft, tender yet knowing part of you left unheard. It’s not true, and deep inside you know this too. You have taken on too many harsh voices and made them your own, turning your back on yourself. It’s time to turn around, to draw yourself into your body. Whispering, I want to hear you, I want to know you, I want to be you, I want to care for you; softly and courageously. —————— • Words by Brigit Anna McNeill •

All she ever wanted was to feel normal. To not be afraid, anxious, depressed or overwhelmed by the voices in her head.

Habits, addictions, compulsions, denial, outbursts, self sabotage, anger, sadness and hopelessness were the all consuming behaviours and narrative driving the course of her life.

No one understood. No one else felt this way. Therefore no one could help.

This darkness overtook her life destroying any hopes of joy and led to wild behavioural swings. She became anorexic. She was already bulimic. She became too anxious to leave her home. She withdrew from family and friends. In her isolation she became depressed. Dark intrusive thoughts kept her company. Kept her stuck.

The mind is a tool. The question is do you understand the tool or do you let the tool fool you. Jacquie Forde

This week I began my sold out Wild and Wise Inner Circle with a group of beautiful women intent on deepening their own understanding of life, business, love and the spiritual essence of the principles. As always initially when groups gather together introductions happen and opinions are formed as we filter for the familiar and unconsciously edit each experience to form a memory or map.

You see our left brain is constantly analysing our experience and coming up with stories about the reality in front of us regardless of whether they are true or not. Our left brain uses language and categorisation to help make sense of our experience and is indeed two of the mechanisms by which we create our sense of self.

You can read the full article at www.jacquieforde.com

Jacquie Forde is an NLP trained, Three Principles Teacher and Transformative Coach, dedicated to helping men and women reach their greatest potential, both personally and professionally.Over the last 27 years, people from over 20 countries have invested in her transformative online and in-person coaching programmes. Episode 041 The Unashamedly Human Podcast (Soul Shift Series)with Susan Wheeler Hall by Jacquie Forde

View Details

Join me this week for an inspiring conversation with Andrea Morrison as she discusses her story and how her life has improved since coming across the simple understanding I share in The Unashamedly Human Podcast.

Andrea Morrison is a Transformational coach, Tedx speaker and writer. Her journey into personal development started quite a number of years ago when she was at a stage when she had completely burnt myself out and had developed Chronic Fatigue. At that time she had been a practising Barrister for nearly 10 years, had a busy UK based practice specialising in Employment Law. It was her dream career and one that she had fought for as a mature student. But she was very stressed working really long hours, her life was completely out of balance, her confidence was probably at it’s lowest ebb.

Initially, she blamed the job, so she changed it and became a University Tutor, believing that this move would solve many of the personal difficulties I had faced. However, whilst it did in some respects, many aspects of my mindset that had dominated my career at the Bar, were still there.

So she started her own business, but it soon became apparent that if she wanted my life to change she had to understand how she worked, her mindset, otherwise she was going ever to get more of the same.

She then spent the following years training in Life coaching, Clinical Hypnotherapy, NLP, when she was introduced to a simple understanding, founded by the late Sydney Banks, who’s teachings impacted her so intensely, and had such a positive effect on all aspects of her life (including her business) that she is now passionate about sharing it with others. She has a special interest in mentoring professional women (both employed and self employed) who are feeling overstretched with competing demands, lack confidence or feel confident in one area of their life but not another, feel guilty or feel that they are simply not good enough. www.https://andreamorrison.co.uk/

This weeks episode of The Unashamedly Human Podcast is a gorgeous conversation with The Social Media Priestess, Lucy Bainbridge.

Check her out at https://www.facebook.com/groups/socialmediainitiation/ and find out more about her school - The Social Media Priestess School to be guided on all things social media.

THE SOCIAL MEDIA INITIATION An Online Circle of Men & Women looking to transform their social media presence from the inside-out

Having a ‘consistent social media strategy’ just sounds like the most boring thing in the world doesn’t it?

‘Consistent’,’ routine', 'best practices', ‘4 step system’ yawn, yawn yawn.

Especially if you’re a creative, spiritually led, don’t-know-whats-happening-tomorrow-let-alone-next-month, indigo priestess …

You've got profound gifts. talents, and abilities that you've carefully cultivated through the years ...

💜 revealing the magic inside the hopeless

💜 bringing etheric dreams into physical reality

💜 igniting passion inside the hearts of many

And, you want to change lives.

My love, that's what you came here to do.

You've found transformation, and you're determined to help others transform too.

But you can't change the world if the world doesn't know who you are.

We have an opportunity here in this digital age.

We have an opportunity to share our hearts, our voices, our healing with more people than ever before.

But how do we do it, honour our natural flow AND get results?

Well, part of the issue is that people start with STRATEGY.

There are two foundational pieces that must come before your strategy.

MINDSET & MESSAGE.

Without these, your house is built on sand.

Your strategy needs to become an extension of who you are and your message needs to become POTENT.

Then the ‘doing' part will become effortless.

I've worked with spiritual leaders, medicine women, non-duality practitioners, fertility coaches, hypnotherapists and many other coaches over the last year and I know what creates exponential results and what doesn’t.

Most of the time it doesn’t involve following the rules.

All of the time, it comes from following your INTUITION.

A very topical subject this week...climate change and the rapidly evolving environments we are all finding ourselves in.

The Unashamedly Human Podcast this week is with Kimberley Hare. You can find out more about this fabulous woman at :www.heartofthriving.com

Her bio:

I am a writer, a coach, and facilitator. My work is informed by my understanding of the Three Principles, or the Inside-Out Understanding of the human experience. My passion is to help people wake up to their own innate resilience, clarity, love, creativity and well-being, so that they can truly thrive as a human being.

Before coming to this understanding in 2009, I was an acknowledged expert in the Neuroscience of Leadership, Engagement and Culture Change, Positive Psychology, Social Psychology and Influencing, NLP, and Brain-Friendly Learning.

I am a master transformative coach, certified by Michael Neill, have been a mentor on his Supercoach Academy, and am a CpF (Certified Professional Facilitator).

I’ve authored three books. The first two were about the neuroscience of learning. My latest book "The He'Art of Thriving" was published in June 2017.

After 35 years leading a successful consulting and training business, I was ‘nudged’ to close this down as a commercial enterprise in August 2019 after waking up to the climate and ecological emergency. These days I spend the majority of my time leading retreats and workshops, coaching people who are suffering from climate distress, and creating local resilient communities. All my work is done in the gift.

This week I want you to meet Life Mentor and writer, Nicole Barton, something of a unicorn within the self-help industry for her candid notion that nobody needs self-help. Committed to supporting people in finding freedom from whatever their particular form of suffering is, she is a breath of fresh air in her admission that while meditation, yoga and anything that leads us into soul-led expression can be useful to drop us out of our heads and into our hearts, none of these practices are prerequisites to peace. Profound, in that Nicole’s life thus far has not been devoid of challenge or trauma. Find out more about Nicole at: www.nicolebarton.co.uk insta @wellbeingwriter

A leading teacher and practitioner of the revolutionary new paradigm known as The Three Principles, David was one of a select group of coaches to be personally mentored by Doctor George Pransky, the man who was famously described by English philosopher and writer Colin Wilson as "the greatest psychological mind of our time". The Principles - in David's own words - have 'turned conventional Freudian analysis on its head, sweeping away a century of misunderstandings about the way in which we human beings experience and process reality'. The insights he has gained have transformed David's life, both personally and professionally, and he now spends all his time taking the message to other trainers and coaches, to businesses and private individuals.

David was the very first ANLP Accredited Trainer in the world. He was invited by the President of the ABH, Dr. Tad James, to become an Internationally Accredited Master Trainer of Hypnosis. More recently he was the recipient of the prestigious APCTC Outstanding Achievement Award, 2015 which was for his outstanding contribution to the coaching industry.

David’s vision is simply to share his grounding in the Principles with anyone looking to transform their experience of life, irrespective of their presenting challenges. With that aim he has created a series of Online and Live Transformational Programmes www.davidkey.com

I am talking to myself again this week simply looking at the spiritual nature of autumn and it's relevance to our being.

I don't know about you but I have always loved autumn or fall and every year since I moved to this cosy corner of Scotland I like to invite other enquiring souls to come join me for my final grounding event of the year.

Autumn or Fall is a season drenched in tradition, it is the perfect time to reflect and embrace change. ... it is the end of many things but it can also represent the beginning. My invitation is for us to gather together and take a cue from the spiritual nature of life and use this season to help us find the peace and balance we need to become more deeply grounded in being.

Autumn reminds us that our bodies, minds, and surroundings are always developing. It focuses on the impermanence of life, emphasizing how vital it is to embrace the present. By doing so, we can savour what we have before it is gone.

The Unashamedly Human Autumn Seasonal Gathering is a small group event at my home in a quiet picturesque fishing village in Scotland, which many of you have visited for courses and events previously and there is no shortage of accommodations with beautiful local bed and breakfasts, hotels and self catering lodges for you to stay in nearby with or without sea views.

We will have long days and lazy evenings bathing in our essence and nature as we sit by the roaring log fire indoors, take long walks on the beach and huddle next to the outdoor fire-pit in my garden looking out to sea.

This year the theme is, "Letting Go" a 2.5 day deep exploration of our true nature to release any myths, misunderstandings and stories that are still holding us back from what we want to achieve in life and business through releasing the hidden and often invisible stories we innocently hold onto.

The date will be from 18th - 20th October 2019. This event is for you if you want to bathe more deeply in the spiritual nature of life and learn more about the practical wisdom that exists within the Three Principles. This event is for you if you are feeling stuck in any area of your life and desperately want to find peace of mind and simply move on with your life. This event is for you if you if you want to share this understanding deeply and simply with others.

I'm so excited to offer this very small group immersive retreat again this autumn and I'm looking forward to sharing space and time with you and can't wait to have you join me in love, laughter, wisdom and nature to let go of what needs to be let go of. After all isn't that what nature encourages in autumn?

In 2014 I realised that the one thing I consistently enjoyed doing was filming and I dropped everything else I was doing to focus on that. Over 300 films later I love what I am doing more and more. I’m learning from all the people I film and all the films I make and, in my own way, I am changing lives for the better. I haven’t written a blog in a wee while so forgive me if I’m a little bit rusty. I’ve just finished an intensive with a beautiful soul called Lin. She has been listening to my podcasts for years and has loved reading and listening to my blog audios too. It’s refreshing to know someone does but with over 1500 listens a week without much promotion I know for sure people are tuning in globally. I’m also currently renewing my website with another beautiful soul, Susan Wheeler Hall and I do believe she tried to secretly chastise me in the most lovingly gentle way to get off my ass and start writing again. So I listened to what they both had to say yet only only felt compelled to write today.Today I was on a teeny tiny twin prop aeroplane flying with Mr Lovely to the beautiful Scottish island of Lewis for a wee holiday together. Our flight was quite early and I woke this morning with even more of a sense of naughtiness and mischievousness than usual at the thought of the opportunity of adventure with Jerry. We travelled by car to the railway station, took a train and then a bus to to the airport. I’ve been giggling, laughing, having fun with Mr Lovely ,talking non stop and sending our daughters pictures of the tiny plane and their tall mother and father. It’s a wondrous sight and if I could earn money from Mr Lovely’s eye rolling at my being this morning I’d be a very wealthy lady!I was buzzing inside yet totally calm. As the plane took off. My heart was full of gratitude for this moment and that we are both able to enjoy this adventure together. My eyes filled with tears.I excitedly took photos and film of the plane taking off, secretly feeling like a tourist capturing every single moment of motion.  I got lost in thought watching the plane fly through clouds to a clear sky and in each and every minute of the plane ascending I was reminded of energy. The gorgeous spiritual energy of all life that supports the atmosphere, the weather, the changing seasons, the air we breathe. Also the incredible intellect of man in discovering the gift of flight and the creation of aeroplanes to fly humans all over the world. And then my thought-stream reminded me of my conversations with Lin, my intensive student this week, she is roughly the same vintage as me and was gentle, loving and wise. During one of our conversations I expressed to Lin how I feel about life. I know beyond doubt I am spiritual energy in a human form. I call it my meat sac .... I also know beyond any doubt that my spirit is ageless and my human form is not, it is subject to deterioration. That’s the nature of the game. I can look after my human form as best I can but I can never stop it ageing. Yet my spirit has no age nor does it age. Lin and I discussed this a lot. I love that we did because it appears to me that so many humans believe and get caught up in their thoughts about “age” and restrict and limit their life accordingly.Your sense of who you are will determine what you believe you need and what matters to you in life and whatever matters to you will have the power to disturb you. Are those thoughts obvious to you? This morning I felt even more mischievous and naughty than usual. My conversations with Lin about her true nature have by default ignited my own with a beautiful sense that something has been let go of within me. I feel lighter and even more peaceful than I did yesterday. I know that insight has happened without content and to be honest I really don’t care what that insight was because the feeling I’m living in is simply divine. What an incredible space to live life from. How about you ?

Join Jacquie as she relates her recent experience of moving house. “Just as the note on the piano reaches it’s perfect pitch the professional tuner acknowledges that fact and then leaves the key alone.”

In my experience that is how our true nature works. We experience the right note playing within us and our human musicality resonates with the pitch and tone of what is being shared, knowing whatever we have seen is perfect without our interference. There is no need to fiddle with our insights or analyse them to within an inch of their lives unless we are guided to enquire more deeply from a gentle place and not a fearful, hungry quest for knowledge space.

Crossing The Threshold into Our Divine and Spiritual Nature

If a teacher is indeed wise, he/she does not bid you enter the house of his/her wisdom, but rather leads you to the threshold of your own mind. Khalil Gibran

Last week I attended and presented at the 3PGC conference in Los Angeles. It was a beautiful conference filled with love, friendship and wisdom in many guises from souls from all over the globe. We shared stories, laughed, cried and established friendships new and old as we crossed the threshold into the essence of our true nature, together as one.

In all religions and spiritual paths crossing a threshold is a sacred opportunity to become enlightened. A threshold is a doorway between worlds, a mystical border between the divine and the ordinary. For me, that was my experience of the 3PGC conference, I crossed yet another threshold in my understanding of life as I talked with and listened to speakers and attendees alike. Written into the human design is a wonderful trip switch just like the ones that protect us from electrical issues in our homes but most of us don’t even know it exists. We should get to know about this switch as it allows us to distinguish between real life problems and mood related speed bumps. It is or inner guidance system, our wisdom or instinct.

Don’t get me wrong we all have issues in life to contend with and sometimes access to the trip switch is more apparent than others. However, how we experience life is very much related to what kind of mood we are in.

Our moods are just a fact of life. Sometimes we are in a good mood and sometimes we are in a bad mood. Our state of mind and our moods fluctuate throughout the day. That is part of the human design.

Over the years I have become familiar with my moods. My high moods have certain characteristics as do my low moods and knowing what they feel like has been invaluable. In a high state of mind I am carefree, unbothered and extremely patient. In a low mood I am a bitch. I am impatient, judge-mental and opinionated. Read more at www.jacquieforde.com

Spiritual Awakenings In The Boardroom

This week I have been privileged to have the opportunity to run several Three Principles Trainings in corporate organisations, non profits and at my home.

Like most of you reading this article I love sharing this understanding and every time I share I am blown away by how quickly silence falls in a room and the deep sense of peace that accompanies it, even in a corporate boardroom.

My trainings this week have been incredibly humbling.

On entering the training room of one of my jobs the nervous energy and chatter amongst the delegates was palpable. People were present not because they wanted to be but because they were told to be in the room to learn something about wellbeing. I could feel the challenge from them, unspoken and passively aggressive. Mostly they did not believe they could be shown or taught anything and dare I say it especially from a curvy, middle aged woman who lives life light heartedly finding humour in daily living. I love these situations nowadays but in years gone by I would likened this experience to being in a room with a pack of hungry wolves that hadn’t been fed for a week and I was the tasty appetizer. I used to feel scared in situations like this and would assume a commanding attitude to get people to listen to me. I don’t feel or act that that way anymore because I understand how I create my experience of life from the inside out.

Without exception I know that I am only ever feeling my thinking.

As people get settled it’s a joy to encourage conversation about what lights them up inside and what bothers them. This gives me time to understand the energy and dynamics in the room always working from instinct to guide me into when it is a good time to start sharing this understanding. Last weekend I held one of my Gatherings in my home in Scotland with Ami Chen Mills. People came together from across the UK to listen and learn.

The aim of the Gatherings is to bring a small group of 3 Principles Teachers and students together in an intimate space to take a deep dive into various topics that help us learn to live and share this understanding more fully in our day to day lives.

Over the past year I have led and participated in these wonderful gatherings. I have watched strangers come into my home who then leave as incredible friends. Human beings who came to learn become souls together resting on my sofa searching for truth. Whatever way I look at it the Gatherings in my home have become one of my favourite ways to teach and learn more about the principles.

Episode Fourteen: Who is Driving The Bus ? by Jacquie Forde

A number of years ago I had what was probably one of the most valuable and amazing insights into how I was living life and how in that living I was un-intentionally hurting myself.

It happened one weekend when I was on a small intensive retreat with one of my mentors. He was talking about creativity in a very simple and unassuming way and within moments I was crying gently without knowing why.

Listen in to find out why reacting to life is often not your best choice.

Everyday someone somewhere will become unsettled in life and ask, “Am I living on purpose. Am I making a difference?”

And I wonder how often we believe that making a difference or living on purpose has to be a grand gesture, a grand display of living that other people look to and admire.

I Am What I Am

Ever woken up in the morning with a song dancing in your head that simply wants to stay and play?

I love it when that happens!

The other day I woke up with a song playing in my head that was really powerful when I was a young, tenacious and at times fearful soul. It was my relationship breakup song or the one I went to listen to when I felt sad, confused or weary about life. We all have songs like that. Songs which lift us up and make life seem possible again when we are in low states of mind. Songs that make us feel as though we are on top of the world again. I would sing this song so loudly full of passion, venom and purpose. I was through this song telling the world not to mess with me. It just kinda made me feel alive and at the time reminded me that little old me was enough , especially when I was hurting like a wounded animal inside.

This song just kept dancing in my head until I acknowledged it.

I got so curious that I played it on my ipod listening carefully to the words as if I was searching for a grain of truth that had resonated in me so loudly many years ago. That grain of truth that lifted me up when I was down. It was hysterical to watch myself singing and dancing along to “I am what I am “ by Gloria Gaynor from the musical, La Cages Aux Folles as though I was a 20 year old again. I was instantly transported back to my youth. I bet this song has helped countless men, women and children get over themselves lifting their spirits to new heights, music does that especially when we hear truth . Last week was such fun. I spoke at the Tuesday Intro Class at the Innate Health Centre in London and was completely blown away when Terry Rubinstein asked me to facilitate a Practitioner Training day on the Wednesday. I had a blast on both days with some incredibly wonderful people. I am always honoured and humbled when people ask me to train, present or speak at their events.

But I have a secret…..I firmly believe that I don’t know anything that you don’t already know!!

My business friends really tell me off for saying that. They believe that the above statement is a one-way ticket to failure for a Coach and Consultant to say out loud. I don’t care…it’s the truth and for the record it has never hindered my potential to attract clients ! You see I may have had different experiences and adventures and lived a longer or a shorter timespan than you and worked in different professions and have different qualifications but what binds us together is “This Being Human”.

What if you dropped who you thought you are meant to be to just be who you really are?

People seem to love how I show up, they enjoy the humour, wisdom, authenticity and honesty I bring to any discussion and begin to see very clearly and quickly that because I see there is nothing separating us then effortless, deep and transformational conversations frequently occur. People begin to drop down into what makes them human without all the erroneous thinking that keeps us stuck in life and business.

I know with certainty that the greatest gift I have received from understanding the principles behind life is that I am no longer scared to be me or to have any of my experiences. This was huge for me because I was one of those people who glided along life like a swan, looking elegant and graceful on the outside but I was paddling furiously underneath it all just trying to make sure everything turned out to be what I considered RIGHT !!!!

At times I was innocently scared, worried and fearful of life. I buried difficult experiences deeply into my subconscious mind but they always show up in one form or another via addictive habits and sabotage behaviours to name a few human distractors.

But there is another way to live life, a way that doesn’t require control or fear.

A way that allows us to see where our experience of life is coming from which is not our circumstances or the events that unfold or happen in front of us but simply how we think about these events or circumstances. Since time began innocently we have thought everything worked the other way. For example if my car breaks down it must be the fact that my car has broken down that has caused me to feel upset or if my kid isn’t keeping their room tidy it must be the fact that their room is untidy and they are ignoring me that is keeping me upset and angry.

Wrong………

It is the simple fact that you THINK that is making you feel anything in any given moment. Our thoughts affect our feelings not the other way round. And once you see this simple fact of life this being human thing becomes simpler to navigate and easier to enjoy, irrespective of our circumstances.

Rumi says that every experience, every situation and person that comes into your life is here to guide and teach us to become more human. Syd Banks told us that life is a contact sport and I want to tell you that life is here for us to live fearlessly. This being human thing is a marvelous adventure, full of laughter, giggles, love, upset, birth, death, illness, wellbeing, success and failure. But boy what a trip it becomes when we understand where our experience of life is coming from.

Go do it – live life !!!!

I really enjoy pointing people to a new understanding of how life works, an understanding that has both the potential and the hope to raise the consciousness of individuals and nations, to elevate them above war, famine, greed and hatred. Helping them illuminate their awareness towards a wellbeing that has no end and just a beautiful knowing that everything is and always will be OK no matter what our circumstances are. An understanding that the human race has simply forgotten; an understanding that will evolve humanity to new levels of consciousness, effortlessly once known and understood.

“Any sense of restlessness is a sign that your soul is ready to grow. Answering the call of your soul by pursuing a new entrepreneurial activity or a form of creative expression, such as writing, playing music, or sculpting, would be a natural process in aligning yourself with Spirit. If you are restless, this is how you’re being guided or invited by your soul to find deeper fulfillment through more satisfying work and meaningful service.” – Ernest D. Chu

Is this You….

Do you feel you are living in a state of perpetual unrest? Inexplicably fidgety and anxious? Perhaps you have trouble falling asleep at night. I see this in my clients all the time. They are tired but just can’t sleep. They have a longing for something more that can’t be found outside of themselves and they are ready to see and hear something new. But sometimes we don’t listen to that call and begin to sabotage various areas of our life quickly becoming a victim to our circumstances.

This is what I have come to see when I don’t listen…

Life will show me what I need to see or listen to whether I like it or not. To the outside world it could look like I was being sucker punched by life and a number of years ago I too would have felt that way, that life was being unfair to me. I had lost my parents, lost major work contracts, was written about unfairly by someone who didn’t even know me and was creatively lost as I was trying to build my business. I was depressed and life really looked bleak.

But…..

I was really fortunate to have come across an understanding that kicked me into touch about how life really works. For the first time ever I didn’t become the unsinkable Molly Brown character I was used to becoming to handle stressful situations, unwilling to feel what I was meant to feel to evolve and grow but smiling through the pain as if nothing was wrong despite feeling like I was dying inside.

I settled into life..

I stopped paying attention to the thoughts spinning round in my head. I realised that any feelings I am having are only ever coming from my thought in the moment which is just part of our human experience. But we can be taught that feeling emotions is a bad thing and that we should at all costs avoid feeling anything bad or uncomfortable. Perhaps this is why so many people take anti depressants because they are innocently not allowing themselves to feel life and as yet do not know where their experience of life is really coming from ? Just imagine for a moment every experience helping you to evolve us as a human being so that you can learn the lessons you are meant to learn.

So how do you shift your soul?

In my experience it was coming across an understanding that allowed me to see a deeper truth about life. I had an insight or an instinct to learn more and found myself taking a huge leap of faith which had an underlying certainty to it that I was looking in the right direction after decades of self help addiction. I am talking about the kind of truth that shows you who you really are and challenges your perceptions of the world you live in.

Once I understood this my soul had no choice other than to effortlessly and my depression disappeared.
