How anyone can be rich 🎄

Christmas is an expensive time of year. 💸

But It doesn’t have to be.

It can be rich in other ways.

We get so focused on giving the shiniest, most prized gifts that we forget what this season is truly about...

It’s the season to celebrate Christ. To rejoice in Him.✨

The more meaningful and long-lasting gifts don’t cost anything.

They’re called Christ gifts.

It transformed my family for the better when we decided to do Christmas a little differently than we’ve done before 💗

On the podcast, I share how:

🎁 a poem by Deborah Ann Belkah reminded me of how my husband and I created our own special tradition during the Christmas season

🎁 Christ gifts shaped the way we show up for each other long after Christmas is over

I hope you had a wonderful Christmas and that this helps you change the way you celebrate the holiday season.

I learned the hard way. ⚒️

Not everyone in my coaching program was going to get the results they wanted. 🤷🏾‍♀️

I thought my program was solid, but no matter how much I wanted everyone to succeed, there’s a difference between those who…

👉🏾 Put in the work versus those who only talk about the work.

But if I really wanted to set myself up for success (and my clients) and make strides in my business, I needed to examine this ⤵️

What my clients loved…and what they didn’t.

I knew that I had to take it apart and rebuild it…even though I put a lot of energy and hard work into the program.

On the podcast, I share:

💥 How I refined my coaching program by tearing it down first

💥 The results of my program revamp

💥 Why you need to deconstruct in order to reconstruct

Ready to take a deeper look and implement the changes that’ll help you prosper in your business?

What’s blocking your blessings? 🚩

This was one of the biggest topics discussed at my most recent holiday event:

✨ Sisterhood ✨

We had a rich conversation about how we…

🌟 Show up for one another

🌟 Open doors

🌟 Pay it forward

🌟 Share our resources

🌟 Train and teach each other

It’s so important to know who should be in our lives.

But we also need to know who shouldn’t.

So, how do you know when it’s time to let go of a relationship?

Maybe you…

👉🏾 Don’t want to hurt their feelings

👉🏾 Instinctively know that something isn’t right, but you don’t know how to approach it

👉🏾 Feel like you can’t say what you want to because they’re close friends or family, so you keep quiet, even if it causes you pain

You know who these people are…

And if you bring them along with you, they block you from the blessings you were meant to receive.

On the podcast, I share:

💥 The scriptures that revealed why not everyone can go with you on this journey

💥 The one question you need to ask yourself about the relationships in your life

💥 Why I let go of one of my own relationships, even if it hurt me

If you move forward in obedience and understand that not everyone can go with you…you’ll start to feel a powerful transformation in your life and your business.

My $30K Gift 🎁

My love language is giving. ✨

It’s what naturally brings joy to my heart. And I’ve been so blessed in my life to be able to give back to others. 🙏🏾

So, during last year’s Mastermind, I told attendees that at the next event, I was going to give away a certain dollar amount.

And after thinking about it, I settled on an amount of $10K.

But you know what?

I wasn’t scared of that number. 🤷🏾‍♀️

I wasn’t even nervous about whether or not I could make it happen.

Which means my goal was too low

If I really wanted to bless others, I had to stretch myself.

So I prayed, and I remembered a book that really moved me.

👉🏾 It’s called the Blessed Life by Robert Morris.

This book helped me to…

🧠 Get into the right mindset

💖 Make an impact for organizations and the hard working women who need it

🌟 Continue to spread God’s blessings

And it will help you to do this, too.

On the podcast, I share:

💥The two things I learned through the Blessed Life that helped me get out of my comfort zone and gift $30K

💥 How I was able to sponsor several small businesses and important initiatives in 2022 alone

💥 My challenge for you in 2023

Is THIS affecting your leadership? 👀

👏🏾 Leadership should always supersede friendship 👏🏾

Every. Single. Time.

No one person is bigger than the entire team. 🙅🏾‍♀️

The minute one person feels like they’re bigger than the whole team (because of who their friends are), the group crumbles.

Placing friendships over the ability to be effective leaders happens more often than we think.

We don’t want to make the tough decisions, especially if it’s our friend’s work that isn’t going well...

We’re naturally resistant when it’s time to call out these challenges and create change.

👉🏾 This is not a good place to be.

On the podcast, I share:

💥 How I worked hard to make sure that the friend who was responsible for my hiring at an optical company never regretted her referral

💥 Why some people have the title, but not the talent, to be a leader

If you’re stuck in the wrong order of friendship over leadership, then it’s time to see how to turn it around so that you become the leader you want to be.

I lost my wallet at an industry conference in Chicago…My ID, credit cards, money…you name it. Gone. 💨

I had nothing but my name tag to prove that I was Becky Davis.

The people I asked to help me were rude and ungracious.

And let me tell you…

what started out as a great day at the conference, ended with me going to bed asking God what he was trying to show me that day.

Ya’ll, God was working on me with that situation, because I was STRESSED. I frantically worked to cancel ALL my cards, because who knows where it was or who had it…

I didn’t even have any money for dinner that night.

So I prayed. 🙏🏾

And it helped me realize that this was a temporary inconvenience…and that I was more connected to these things than I thought…

I felt more in control…stronger when I had them with me.

And I felt some type of way because I couldn’t access it.

But after praying with God for two hours, I was reminded that while I lost my things, I did not lose Him. ❤️

I remembered that when I walk in excellence, when I focus on pleasing and being acceptable to God, He will protect me in any situation.

On the podcast, I share how:

💥 How God saw favor in Daniel through the spirit in the life that he lived…no matter what was going on

💥 How I got my wallet back, untouched, because I walked in excellence during one of my most stressful days

God wants to see what’s inside of you. And if you walk in excellence, it’ll help you in both your professional and personal journey.Listen to the full episode here! 🎧

If you don’t vote, you don’t exist 💥That is how politicians see it…

If you do not vote, you do not exist. 🤷🏾‍♀️

Which means politicians won’t focus or do anything to help the people they believe do not exist.

All that matters to them is who actually turns up all the polls.

And when you show up inconsistently, you lose your voice.

We all do. 👎🏾

When Trump got nominated, it changed everything for me. If someone like him can get elected, there’s gotta be more ways that I can get involved and put support behind people I believe in.

📣 Let your voice be heard.

Get LOUD, shift your thinking, and get out there and do more…because there’s power in it.

On this week’s podcast, I share:

💥 Why it’s important that we become consistent voters in every election

💥 The powerful differentiator between Clinton’s election versus Obama’s that changed the course of history

💥 How you and the most important people in your life can get involved in order to make up a sizeable portion of the politician’s voting base

About your inner circle…

“Walk with the wise and become wise. Associate with fools and get in trouble.”

- Proverbs 13 and 20

In my years of life, I’ve had some bad friends.

When I was trying to do right by them, they did me wrong.

But God has given me the wisdom to be able to let go…to not harbor anger and instead have a heart of forgiveness.

This doesn’t mean the relationship returns to what it was before.

It just means I moved past it. 🤷🏾‍♀️

I pray specifically for people in my circle to be life-givers. People who lift me up out of love.

The ones who help me to see me do better because they want that for me, and I do the same in return. Not out of obligation, but out of a genuine desire to make each other stronger.

This is your ✨LGC✨.

👉🏾 Your Life-Giving Community.

💥 The questions you need to ask yourself to identify your life-giving community

A simple way to get more opportunities 👀

I was in the room when it happened…

For the first time in two years, I was able to attend the Congressional Black Caucus in person.

It was an incredible event, but I didn’t just go to listen and take notes…

I went there as an active participant, fully engaged with the attendees (some of whom I knew and some I didn’t) who were in the room 💪🏾

And these are the opportunities that happened because of this ⬇️

✅ Invited to watch the Senior Vice President of Global Supply Diversity for Hyatt speak about diversity, inclusion, and equity for companies and corporations

✅ Attended a morning brunch with Melanie Campbell from the Black Women’s Roundtable

✅ Exchanged phone numbers with an executive from Goldman Sachs

✅ Received an exclusive invitation to a Gala that originally cost $2,000

And so much more.

Being in the room and doing nothing gets you nowhere.

Make yourself available, have those introductory conversations, and change your future.

On the podcast, I share:

💥 How I made essential connections through this ONE event and opened up so many doors

💥 How you can become a resource for others when you’re in the room when it happens

💥 My challenge for you

If you’re ready to be in the room where transformations happen, then it’s time to move outside of your comfort zone and 👏🏾 get 👏🏾 things 👏🏾 done.

Paint the big picture

I requested a kid’s menu.

Not because we had any kids at the table…

I was at a restaurant with a friend and I enjoy doing the activities, especially paint by the numbers (the one where you start to see a picture as you chronologically connect the dots and then color it in 💅🏾)

As I was doing this exercise, I thought about where I am in my life and journey of my business…the opportunities and the partnerships I’ve made throughout the years.

If I look back, I can see how the connections happened…how I connected the dots and created something real for myself.

When we look at our lives, our goals, and our dreams, there is a paint by number for all of us that exists in order for us to start the process of connecting each piece of our journey together and realize the BIG picture.

Do you know what big picture you’re painting, [FIRSTNAME]?

On the podcast, I share:

When life gets crazy…

I need to know what God says about me.

Not what my friends and family have to say or the folks on social media.

Him.

I need to know so I can hide it safely inside my heart so that when life puts me through it…

I can rediscover the words that help me through whatever it is I’m going through.

For the last episode in the knowing podcast series, it’s time to talk about knowing what God says about me. About you. About us.

✨ There’s a scripture inside this week’s episode that encompasses the six most powerful things God says about us. ✨

🌱 It helps ground me — reminds me that I have blessings on the way… even on days when I don’t feel so blessed.

🌱 It reminds me why He has chosen me, and why I am worthy.

And even if you struggle with this idea of knowing

Even if you’re still unsure of where you need to go or the support you want on your side…

It’s important to know what God says about you, so you have a foundation of love and support for your journey, in business and in life. 💖

  • This was the game-changing question…

There are some areas in our lives where we need to be fully supported…

… and we might not even know it.

At a recent mastermind, we were asked a question that left us quiet for a few moments ⬇️

“What do you need to be fully supported?”

My mastermind sister, Janice, shared what felt supportive for her and what that looked like in her life.

And that really got me thinking…

How would that manifest for me with…

✨my husband

✨my kids

✨my friends

✨ my network

✨my business

If you’ve listened to the last podcasts in the knowing series, you know I’ve recently taken on a new role… and it can be a lot. So, I need to be able to do a couple of things:

☝🏿 Know what I need and what I can do to get it

✌🏿 Communicate and share how I need help

But first, you need to know what being fully supported looks like for you.

[FIRSTNAME], think about this carefully. What do you need in your own life that’ll help you go all out?

On this week’s podcast, I share:

💥 How Janice’s one question pushed me to examine what support I needed and where I should get it

💥 Why it’s important to take some tasks off your shoulders so that you can focus and prioritize guilt-free

Are you ready to figure this out?

…Then it’s time to finally jump start the conversation about what you need in your own life… so you can get support now.

Subject Line: [FIRSTNAME], go get what YOU need

I ask my clients this every time…

If I could help you right now, what would you need?

Guess what the most common answer is…

👉🏿 I don’t know.

That just kills me, because it means…

💣 You can’t move forward.

💣 You haven’t thought about what you really need for support.

💣 You know what you need but you stop yourself from getting it.

So [FIRSTNAME], when you look at your business, at the gaps and where you fall short, what do you need?

And what stops you from achieving your next level of growth? 🌱

When you know what that looks like — when you know what you need…

Go get it.

Don’t wait.

On the podcast, I share:

💥 How I identified what I needed to bridge the gaps in my knowledge

💥 The action you need to take right now if you’re stuck in the uncertainty of what comes next

If you’re ready to get clear about the resources and tools you must have in your corner…

Question for you, [FIRSTNAME]...

Can you boldly proclaim that you KNOW what you bring to the table?

Are you able to show up knowing what makes you unique – what makes you stand out – in the crowd? 👀

Knowing doesn’t show up as…

❌ Guesswork

❌ Presumptions

❌ Hunches

❌ Assumptions

That’s not knowing something…

Knowing is about what you consciously, deliberately, and intentionally know.

When you walk into the room, you have the skills and experience that someone else doesn’t have…

And that is power. ⚡

But it doesn’t just stop at business either. This applies to your most precious relationships… like in your marriage or in motherhood.

This isn’t easy though…

There have been plenty of occasions where I’ve not felt like I was enough. Like I didn’t have enough education, experience, or wealth.

But then I’d think, you know what? God has me in this room for a reason.

Same goes for you, [FIRSTNAME].

You have what it takes.

Now, ask for what you want. 👏🏿

And nobody can take that away from you.

On the podcast, I share:

💥 What skills I KNEW I brought to the table as the CEO of a company… and what I knew I didn’t…

💥 How you can show up to the table knowing how to identify what you need and what that looks like

If you’re ready to stand boldly in what you know and make a significant impact (personally and professionally),

…then tune into this week’s podcast, which kicks off a new series this month on knowing.

Subject Line: Are you TOO comfortable? 👀

Sometimes, you get so comfortable with what you do that you don’t even notice when you lose something important ⤵️

Your leading edge.

When you don’t stretch your brain to push yourself to new levels, a couple of things happen:

❌You stay stagnant.

❌You don’t gain any of the knowledge that helps you thrive in business and in life.

❌ You lose sight of your goals, both short and long-term.

So… when was the last time you stretched your brain? 🧠

And even if you have gained new knowledge recently…

Did you use it?

Ladies, I have stretched my brain in ways I haven’t done so in a long time since I’ve become the CEO of Community Bridge.

And while I’ve consumed an abundant amount of information so that I can effectively run and elevate this company, I also know that the work I put in now will help me grow personally, too. 🌱

I’ve pulled my expertise from years of experience as a coach and consultant, and not only utilized it purposefully… but strengthened my confidence and competence ALL while expanding my own knowledge.

Are you ready to do the same?

On the podcast, I share how:

💥 I tackled a huge company project that took me out of my comfort zone (even with all my experience as a BOSSprenuer)...

💥 The search for knowledge can lead to questions that you NEED to ask yourself when you’re ready to implement new ideas…

If you struggle to find a way to push yourself and your business to the next level, then it’s time to stretch and strategically put the information you’ve gained into motion.

I sat in the boardroom as the CEO of a new company and was given a task that kept me up at night…

In addition to the revenue the current contracts and clients of this company brought in…I needed to somehow add an additional $3-5 million in sales for 2022…

…In the next 6-7 months…

And I thought…How the heck do I make this happen???

This was a critical moment.

Now I’ve dealt with contracts in corporate America before. I know what it means to hit a sales goal…

and what happens when you don’t…

So I knew I needed to do these 3 things, and I needed to find a way to do it NOW

To find someone who knows what I need to know

To significantly cut down my learning curve time

To make an impact SOON

After many sleepless nights, I had an idea.

In my own company, I’ve made amazing connections—people who are experts that I trust to bring onto my platform to help educate my clients.

So I reached out to those that happened to be a perfect fit for my objectives as the CEO.

And in four months of me leading this company, we bid on a BIG contract that would have taken at least a year or two on my own…

I needed help, and I know you need it, too.

On the podcast, you’ll learn:

Who I hired to actually achieve my goals sooner rather than later

Why do you need a team to help you get where you want to be

If you want to make an impact sooner…

Do you know what feels good?

When you’re able to move forward in your business without fear in your heart and in your mind…

When you take the initiative to expand your knowledge so that you lead from a place of strength…

When you start to feel all your hard work pay off…

This feels good.

But the truth is, you don’t know what you don’t know.

It’s up to you to seize the opportunities to shrink the gaps in your knowledge.

I still have so much more left to learn!

When I started my new position as the CEO of a multimillion dollar company, I went through growing pains because it was a new industry for me.

As part of my job, I performed site visits, but I wasn’t able to fully engage with the clients or ask the necessary questions. It wasn’t an area I was comfortable with, so I let others around me do the talking.

I hated how that made me feel…

And you know what? I never want to feel that way again.

So, I did what I needed to do…

I put in the work

Ahmed, you can do this, too.

It’s time for you to be a beast…and the BOSS.

On the podcast, I share:

How I went from frozen with fear to EMPOWERED (even when I was filled with doubt)

The questions you need to ask yourself so that you can stand in your CONFIDENCE

If you’re ready to address the fear that keeps you locked down…

Not only that, I’ve spoken to audiences internationally

…And all across the country!

But here’s the most important thing I have learned from my experiences

No matter the size of your audience…

Whether you’re about to speak to a room of 7,000 people or only to 1, this is a particular skill you need to refine.

And that skill is speaking

When it comes to being a better speaker, these 3 books made such an impact in my life and my business.

It’s changed how I approach my audience, understand what captures their attention, and how to deliver my ideas.

On this podcast, you’ll learn how these books teach you to:

Keep your content succinct (especially when you’re short on time) Deliver your presentations with greater commercial success Package up your speaking package so you understand the business of speaking

This is the last in my Blessed by A Book Series—the books I hope will shape the way you think.

These books have inspired me to be better… to become more.

Which, in turn, makes me a better businesswoman so that I can live the life I know God has planned for me.

I admit it…

…I felt like a small fish when I first started to work with corporate organizations.

They felt like giants, and I was intimidated.

I would go to the table for negotiation, but I would see myself as small. When it came time for them to see what I could do, I didn’t come from a place of strength.

Until I read these books that changed the way I approach negotiation and pitches…

It’s easy for a small business owner to get caught up in the size of being a small business…But don’t be fooled by your size.

Because the impact you have is like a giant.

These 3 books have given me strength…to the point where I now strengthen my community when they struggle in these areas.

Whether you’re a mother, wife, or business woman, the truth is, we struggle to negotiate—to ask for what we want.

It’s time to see yourself as a GIANT.

The books I talk about on my podcast will

Give you the framework so that you can see the giant within you (and for everyone else to see it too)

Teach you how to control the deal, the pitch, and the conversation so that you lead from a place of power.

Show you why we struggle to negotiate as women in business and the framework we need to be able to push back

Come to the table confidently and in control.

I became a better business owner after I read these books.

Not only were they a form of self-help, but they kept me motivated and inspired in different areas of my life.

I became a better individual.

Which also means, I became a better business owner.

In honor of Juneteenth, I have FOUR books by Black authors that will impact your life for the better…just like it did for me.

And listen, you’ll feel like you can conquer the world after this. Tune in to today’s podcast to hear about the books that:

Show you what’s possible from a different point of view Get you to think about the future you want, especially in retirement Teach you how to live your life OUT LOUD Remind you that your voice is necessary, so it’s time to show up

These books will bless you, give you inspiration when you need it most, and help you become more.

There are only so many hours in the day

And there always seems to be something in the way of your productivity.

Just to name a few…

#1. Procrastination #2. Fear #3. Stress

It’s a constant struggle…unfortunately. Something we all deal with daily.

So what can you do to create habits that give you energy AND deliver you results when you need them? On today’s podcast, you’ll hear about the 3 books that have blessed me in my business and taught me how to increase my productivity

This first book shows you how to narrow your concentration, especially when you have too much on your plate.

My second one tells you exactly what you need to do to achieve greater focus, increase urgency, and multiply your results. (This is how you make decisions count!)

And the final book explains the importance of your energy clock and why classifying your tasks into categories can help you get more done, faster.

If you’re ready to learn about the best methods to knock out that to-do list…

There are times where I’m like, “Lord, where are you?”

Do you ever feel that way?

When you think about all the things you’ve done for your business, yet…

Your pitch failed...

You weren’t able to close that contract with a dream client…

Your launch wasn’t successful…

Your new product/service isn’t selling as well as you’d hope...

It’s hard not to feel like you’ve failed…

And you don’t know what you need to do to get the answer.

When I say, “Pick up the phone, God...”

Here’s my translation: “I feel like a failure…and I need to have a conversation.”

So if you find that you say things like:

I’ve tried everything, but nothing works…

I can’t seem to get it right…

What if I fail…?

Tune into this episode to hear God’s answers to statements like this.

These are scriptures that give you the answers you need, right now.

When you think about the Bible story of David and Goliath, you probably don’t immediately associate this with your business…

But think about it:

Goliath, as gigantic and as good as he was at fighting, was still defeated by David.

And here’s why:

David learned to fight so that he could bring home food to his family, so God helped him prepare.

David was secure in his belief in God, so he was confident God would give him what he needed.

David knew that he was not alone, so God gave him victory.

When you think about your business, do you go into it with the knowledge that you’re not alone?

Or… when you’re the one that drives and handles all the needs of the business…

Do you forget that God is with you?

When things aren’t smooth in your business, do you believe in God enough that if you continue to walk with God, He will be the provider of all things like He did for David?

On the podcast, you’ll learn:

When to recognize when you’re the Goliath in your business

How to reframe the way you think about your business and strengthen your relationship with God

If you want to have the confidence that you can handle anything that comes in the way of your business, then it’s time to start running your business like David.

I recorded this episode before the passing of Chadwick Boseman. But I feel like this episode ties into what he has gone through the last 4 years of his life. At the age of 39 he was diagnosed with stage 3 colon cancer. For a lot of people that would have been the end. But not for Chad. He would go on to be the Black Panther in 3 films and film up to 7 more pictures. All the while no one knew what he was battling. Everyone knows now and unfortunately Chad isnt here to tell the story. But you are here and maybe you have a story of overcoming something. Maybe you beat some illness, got out of a bad relationship, lost a loved one. You could have a triumphant rags to riches story. Either way you have a story and if you are here you have a business or you want to start one. And I want to show you how you use your story to build your business to Become More....RIP Chadwick Boseman.
