  2. Do you have medication or go to therapy?

  3. How long have you had mental health issues for?

  4. Do your friends and family know?

  5. Does this affect your work/daily life?

  6. What makes you feel calm?

  7. What do you do during an anxiety/panic attack?

  8. What advice would you give to others suffering from a mental illness?

  9. Describe your mental health in 5 words.

This week I talk about my difficult week with stress, low moods and OCD.

I've not talked about my OCD openly so far, but that's mainly because it doesn't affect me most days. In fact my somewhat "mild" OCD is only brought on by stress. I also talk a little about how my podcast is now a year old! Whoohoo!

Content Warning: Suicide, suicidal ideation, self harm, self harm methods, abuse, depression, substance abuse mentions.

Chester Bennington was my hero. Bear with me if you assume this is going to a vapid celebrity obsession piece (even if it were, everyone has a right to do and feel whatever they like when it comes to celebrities!).

No, this is a difficult and very important subject for me, as this particular celebrity, and his death, were particularly important and difficult for me.

This week I discuss Chester Bennington's suicide and my own personal tribute to him in regards to my self harm.

Content Warning: Swearing, Talk of Suicide and Mental Illness.

This week I have a very exciting episode for you; I am talking with my long time friend David Gregory. David has, along with his friend & colleague James and talented writer Craig, created an incredible short film: We Progress.

We Progress is "... a positive and empowering drama focusing on male mental health. We progress tells the story of Simon and Byron, two young men that are at different stages of their journey, battling, depression. Ultimately discovering that sometimes it's the simple things that can truly make a difference. A story of hope and recovery".

The film itself premieres on YouTube tonight (Friday 8th May 2020, 8pm GMT) and you definitely need to tune in not only for the film itself but live chat with the creators and others.

There isn't much else to share in regards to the film, you NEED to watch it! Everyone and everything is linked below; I'll be tuning in too.

Content Warning: OCD, BPD, loneliness, medication and crying.

I'm struggling at the moment. Dealing with certain facets of Borderline Personality Disorder and OCD has exhausted me and I'm emotionally wrung out. Sorry, I get a bit emotional near the end, you have been warned. Being in lockdown is hard on everyone, I know. For some reason being confined to my home has amped up my normally controlled and "mild" OCD, I can't remember how to deal with it on a daily basis and it's causing some stress.  I've been feeling increasingly lonely and I miss my family so much.

Sorry, Spoiler? Ah, nevermind!

Welcome back to the Exercising Depression podcast, this week I talk about a job interview I had at the beginning of the week. It was something that came out of the blue a bit for me, I've not been looking for an extra job (I LOVE my job!) but it was an opportunity that popped up and i thought I was give it a go. I haven't had a formal job interview for MANY years, so this week I tell you how the interview itself went, the outcome and how it's all made me feel.

Welcome back to the Exercising Depression podcast, this week is a part 1 of my talking about my faith.  Having faith is incredibly important to me and is something I've discover, and continue to discover, mainly in my adult years. I was brought up Catholic but it took my real looking into what I did or did not believe in to come to a place i'm relatively happy in. This podcast is also a YouTube channel! Welcome back to the Exercising Depression podcast.  This week I discuss my reasons for starting weight training.  I started weight training around June 2019, it's something I have found real joy in and some incredible mental health benefits. Feeling strong has never been a familiar feeling to me, it's quite alien but I am learning to feel it with real achievement and it's helping me every day.   Exercising Depression started as (and continues to be) a podcast in June 2019 and now, in January 2020 i decided to record them as vlogs alongside the podcast. This is to hopefully reach a wider audience in my mission to tackle to stigma surrounding mental health, by having frequent, open and honest conversations about living with mental health problems every day. Whether the conversations are between myself and you  guys, or special guests, let's work together to lift the stigma,d make talking about mental health normal.  Please feel free to contact me!  Email: exercisingdepressionpodcast@gmail.com  Twitter: http://www.twitter.com/EDepressionPod  Instagram: @ExercisingDepression_Podcast YouTube: http://www.youtube.com/ExercisingDepression
