Parshat Noach: The blessing of Japheth is found in dwelling within the tents of Shem, marking the first instance of Gentiles being grafted into Israel. It requires courage to step out of your comfort zone and choose to dwell in another's tent, where the blessing resides.
Parshat Beresheet: If Eden was so perfect, then why did it need to be cultivated and worked? This is the reality of the Kingdom of God. We are placed in His paradise, but we co-labor with Him to perfect it.

These days, the Christian Church is a fierce supporter of Israel. But biblically, Christians are more than just supporters of Israel. They ARE Israel. Not in place of the Jewish people. With the Jewish people.
Parshat Toldot: For I, the LORD your God, am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers on the children, on the third and the fourth generations of those who hate Me. But showing lovingkindness to thousands, to those who love Me and keep My commandments.
Parshat Chayei Sarah: God made many wonderful promises to Abraham. But he would not see the fulfillment of any of them. They were made to his seed. We all have seed to impart to others that will live on and grow.
Just as the Spring Festivals foreshadow the events of Yeshua's first coming, the Autumn Festivals foreshadow the events of His second coming.
Parshat Noach: In the midst of the great turbulence, there is a place of comfort for the people of God.
John the Baptist was the greatest prophet "born of women." Therefore, that does not include those born of the spirit. For you who are in Messiah, with the Spirit of God within you, you are a prophet even greater than John.
Does the New Testament nullify the kosher laws? Let's look at "Kosher In Context" and see what the New Testament really says, and if there is a hidden spiritual benefit to keeping kosher.
Could the root of some diseases be linked to our thoughts? Could having chronic depression, anxiety, fear, hatred, bitterness, etc. cause sickness? Could not loving yourself cause illness? And when we repent to God of our misaligned thoughts, could we experience physical healing? Yes we can!
Recognize that you have aligned with a lying spirit of depression, anxiety, etc. Take responsibility for it. Repent of it. Renounce it. Ask the curse to be broken. In Yeshua's Name, remove the evil spirit that you have aligned with. Receive a fresh word from the Lord, now that the demon is removed. Rejoice in His healing. Repeat as needed.
Saul was not a villain. He was human. He had insecurities, doubts, and struggled with self-image and jealousy. Just like many of us do. But Saul let his brokenness get the better of him and cause him to disobey God. Let's not let our insecurities define us. We may have a Saul within us, but more so, we have a David within us.
Parshat Shelach: In these last days, God wants to give us an IN-couraging word. Be strong and of good courage. Courage is needed in this hour. So, be IN-Couraged!
Parshat Beha'alotcha: Yeshua is our High Priest, according to the Book Of Hebrews. Since we do His work here on earth, that makes us His Levites. If we study the Levites, we can learn much about our walk with Him.

Parshat Tzav: This Shabbat was Shabbat HaGadol, the Shabbat that commemorates when the children of Israel brought a lamb into their homes, in preparation for slaying and eating on Passover. Why do we eat lamb on Passover? Because we are what we eat.
The Book of Exodus starts with salvation. It ends with the people operating in such synchronicity with the Spirit of God that they only moved when He moved. This is our walk with Messiah.
Parshat Ki Tisa: After the sin of the golden calf, the Levites crossed the line to align with Moses and God. Afterwards, Moses crossed back over the line to intercede on behalf of the sinners, saying, "If they are written out of the book, then write me out too!"
The service was in response to what God is doing with the young generation at the Asbury University Revival. At Mishkahn David, we agree!
Parshat Yitro: The story of God giving the 10 Commandments on Mount Sinai gives us the secret to overcoming fear and claiming victory over phobias in our lives.
Greatness in the world is defined by status, wealth, fame, power. Yeshua turns greatness on its head. To be great in His Kingdom, we must be the least. This message is for those that struggle with jealousy of those who seemingly have more than you.
Parshat Va'era: Pilate asked Yeshua the poignant question, "What is Truth?" Many people have their own truths, and there are truths we experience in our lives. But is there a Truth higher than our personal truths?
Just as Yeshua was wounded and rejected, so will we be. When we are hurt by those we love, it is painful. The Bible teaches us how to react to hurts in Godly ways.
Parshat Vayigash: In the middle of the story of Joseph is the story of a man named "Praise", Judah. Judah descends into sin, but God uses his fallen state to effect deliverance for Israel and activate his calling to be the forebearer of the Lion of Judah.
Parshat Vayishlach: Jacob contrived multiple plans to escape the wrath of his brother Esau. But when he encountered Esau, something happened that he didn't expect. Esau had a heart change, and hugged and kissed him. We have our plans, and we devise ways out of our difficult circumstances. But God is the God of Surprises, and He is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all we can hope for.
Parshat Vayetze: Leah had weak eyes. Rachel was attractive. These are examples of labels that people put on us, which we can spend our lives trying to tear off. Yeshua wants to remove the labels of limitation that were placed on us and stick them to the cross of Messiah, where they belong.
Parshat Chayei Sarah: God never wants us to forget that death is not permanent in His Kingdom. This is why "sleeping" is used to describe death throughout the Bible. And when we're sleeping, we can be awakened.
Yeshua said that if we don't receive the Kingdom as children, we will not enter in. We encourage our natural children to eventually leave father and mother, and find their own way. With our Father in heaven, we should never lose our child-like dependence on Him.
Not a sermon, an assignment. When we repeat patterns that are not in line with God's truth, speak life and truth to counteract the lie. Do this for three weeks. Three weeks to change the pattern.
Rabbi Brian speaks of revelations received on their vacation to Europe and how they relate to our preparation for Rosh Hashanah and the Day Of The Lord.
We didn't choose Yeshua. He chose us. And He gave us His Holy Spirit, so now, with His help, we can make good choices.
Sometimes when we are going through tough times, we need to remind ourselves that God just may be saving the best for last.
On Tisha B'Av, we remember that the Rabbis attribute the destruction of the second Temple to "Baseless Hatred." When are our feelings "baseless?" They are baseless when they are not fully based on fact, but based on our internal biases.
In Parshat Masei, we learn about the cities of refuge, where a manslayer can be safe from the avenger of blood. But in reality, both parties are in their own prisons. This parshah teaches us the tools to be set free.
Judaism commemorates the three weeks between the breaching of the walls of Jerusalem and the destruction of the temple. What can this concept mean for us personally, with the understanding that we are now the temple of God?
We know what it means to be "myopic" (nearsighted). The body of Messiah needs a dose of "hyperopia" (farsightedness) so we can see our circumstances from God's heavenly perspective.
Yeshua was a friend of sinners. He never celebrated or validated their sin. But He never avoided them either. This is the holy narrow road we are called to walk on.
Not the Motown band... but the red flags within us that warn us that sin is knocking at the door. If we acknowledge the temptations but do not sin, we are victorious.
The road to the Promised Land is always paved with giants. Do not fear. If God called you to it, He'll bring you through it.
When God blesses our lives, we are grateful... until we get used to it and it becomes common. Then we complain that we are not blessed. This angers God. Let's not block our blessing with our "kvetching!"
In this sermon, we learn about the "Shmitta", the yearly Sabbath for the land, and how it teaches us to glean blessings in our times of lack.
When Yeshua asked Peter three times, "Do you love me?", He needed to deal with and heal the hurt within Peter for rejecting the Lord three times. He needed Peter to let go of this disappointment, because Pentecost is a few days away, and there is work to be done. Let go, and LESS GO!!
Parshah Kedoshim begins and ends with the phrase, "You shall be holy for I the Lord am holy." Between the two "holy" statements are God's commandments to live by.
Yeshua asked His disciples two pertinent questions: "Who do the people say that I am?" and "Who do YOU say that I am?" In this hour, we need to answer question #2 Biblically and accurately, because the people's answer to question #1 is becoming more and more distorted.
Nisan 1 is the Biblical beginning of springtime, and it is always a blessing to mark the day with declaring that a new season of growth has begun.
When we are hurting, being told to just "get over it" is the worst advice you can receive. But regarding what hold us down, the Spirit of God will want us to get "OVER" it, meaning to rise "above" it.
After a year of hunger, thirst, warfare, complaints, sin, judgement, in-fighting and loss of life, the Glory of God descended on the camp, securing His presence among the people of Israel. Why would God manifest His presence after such a year of backsliding? Because God's love for us, and His passion to be in proximity to us, is greater than our sins.
"Let Us make man in our image", God said when He created man. When it comes to creation, our Creator doesn't want to do it alone. He wants you as a partner in creation.
There is mystery around G-d's ineffable name, YHVH. But most important is the meaning of His name, which is "I AM that I AM." What you need Him to be, I AM.
Don't let the smallest of your upbringing become an inferiority complex that prevents you from reaching your purpose.
In our Torah Portion "BeShalach", we are introduced to the nation of Amalek, which Judaism views as the embodiment of evil. Since the Torah tells us that the Lord battles with Amalek in every generation, we can learn how we can identify a Spirit of Amalek in our lives and how to overcome it.
When Lazarus was resurrected, he came out of the grave bound with wrappings. Have you experienced G-d's resurrection power, but still feel bound? Yeshua made a second resurrection proclamation that perhaps you are waiting to hear: "Unbind him and let him go!"
For all those that believe in Yeshua, the Holy Spirit will transform you into the best version of yourself... if you submit to the process.
There is much division in this world today. The opposite of division is unity, and unity is so vital to God. But between division and unity lies reconciliation.
We inherit faith from our father Abraham. We also inherit "Laughter", the name of the son of promise, Isaac. And we also inherit the giving up of the same son of promise.
It's no fun to get sick. But the unfun symptoms of the sickness (sore throat, fever, etc.) is your body doing what it is designed to do by God.,, Recognize a threat, fight it, beat it, remember it, and be strengthened from it. So it is with all trials. The purpose of adversity is to strengthen your immunity.
The battle is real. But it is possible that God doesn't want you or need you as a soldier in this war. Our Torah portion gives us the divine right to not fight.
Messiah took the curse of the Torah upon Himself. This leaves us only with blessing. Let's live like it!
We need to be brainwashed.... by the Lord. He is capable of washing our brains from depression, anxiety, jealousy and every thought not of the Kingdom.
We are called to impart spiritual blessings to others. But beware. Spirits, whether good or bad, are sticky!
Every good thing in the Kingdom of God has a demonic counterfeit that we need to beware of.
We are to love our neighbors as ourselves. The laywer asked Yeshua, "Who is my neighbor?" The way we answer that question speaks worlds about our character.
Yeshua is our healer. When His healing power marries up with our elevated faith, miracles occur.
It's ok to be "under the influence". It all depends on what you are under the influence of. Are you under the influence of the world? Your negative emotions? Yeshua was fully under the influence... of His Father in Heaven. Let's be under the influence of that.
We learn in the New Testament from Rabbi Gamaliel that sometimes we need to leave a thing alone.
On Nisan 1, Spiritual Winter is over and Spiritual Springtime begins. And Lord knows, this world needs its Springtime.
The Mishkahn (Tabernacle) was the visible presence of God in the wilderness, that was simply "there" for people whenever they needed to experience Him.

I wish the virus had never come to me. I wish none of this had happened. So do all who live to see such times, but that is not for them to decide. All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given to us.
I believe one of our primary lessons in our quarantine/lockdown is "focus". God removed distractions so we can refine our focus. Will we focus on the snakes around us at this time or will we instead look at the bronze serpent on the pole? The choice is ours.
The Passover experience in Exodus was a foundational moment, but it also foreshadowed something greater. The death of the Messiah of Israel.
Coronavirus makes us feel that the world, even the body of Messiah, has gone backwards. But G-d doesn't know backwards. He moves in one direction... forward.

Jacob was named after his worst characteristic. He was a cheater, a supplanter. But after an epic wrestling match with divinity, his fleshly identity was replaced with a greater spiritual identity: Israel. So it is with your own wrestlings with the flesh. It may take overnight, but if you don't quit, you win.
When you were a rundown, unwanted, unrepaired house, put up for action, and the only bidder was the enemy, Yeshua came in and outbid the enemy by paying full price for you.
When you don't need another message to have faith that God can resurrect what is dead. When you just need to know that it is ok to accept that He will not, and to move on.
Being a children of Abraham means that when God says that He'll bring miraculous birth from barrenness, we are crazy enough to believe it.
How do we know when the presence of objects and activities in our lives has any linkage to occultic practices that Adonai would want us to eliminate?
On the day when we mourn the destruction of the holy temples, Rabbi Brian calls for a 4-week season of rebuilding the temple, by only speaking prophetic life and creation over ourselves and each other.
Rabbi Brian Samuel uses the game of Operation to illustrate that we have places within us that go "buzz" when touched by someone or something. And these places need the Lord's healing.
After the Ten Commandments were spoken by God from Mount Sinai, Moses went up to the mountain and told the people to wait here until he returns. Same with Yeshua… He went up to the mountain (heaven) and told us to wait here until he returns. But Moses delayed in his coming... and the people who eagerly awaited him fell away and built an idol. This is a prophetic warning of what can happen to us, those who eagerly await the coming of Yeshua. In this sermon, we discuss how this generation can avoid such a deception and can be used as God's special possession in the last days.

The Book of Devarim (Deuteronomy) marks a shift. In the other books of Torah, G-d spoke to Moses and told him specifically what to say, word for word. In Devarim, Moses speaks on His own. It is as if G-d is saying, "I've fed you enough. Go now and feed."

Bilaam was a prophet who heard from the true G-d and had the Holy Spirit upon him. Bilaam also served Balak, the King of Moab, who hated Israel. He only spoke the words of G-d when on the mountain. Down below, he strategized with Balak how to defeat Israel. He served two masters. He was compromised. Are you also a compromised prophet? Do you answer to the Lord, but also have an unholy alliance with the Kings and systems of the world? You cannot serve G-d and mammon.

In this Torah portion, the children of Israel elected to send spies into Canaan, without being instructed by Adonai to do so. That didn't turn out so well. We can learn a lot from their experience on fearing the future and trusting G-d when He says the land is good.

But later, he spent his remaining days in jail wondering if he got it right. G-d wants us to not focus on perceived outcomes and our own understandings of success, but to trust the fruit of our actions to Him. If Adonai ordains the beginning of a thing, the end of a thing, and the road between them, then what is the value of praying for situations? Does our prayer mean anything, since the results are predetermined? This was something that I've been contemplating, and I believe the Lord gave me a firm answer.
The sermon from Shabbat was about our patriarch Judah. Judah's story is nestled within the account of Joseph in the book of Genesis. What's not obvious in the story is the depth of sin that Judah fell into. Yet through his deep, dark journey into depravity and isolation, in a single moment, Messiah rose up in him, and the salvation of Israel burst forth. And this broken, fallen man ultimately merited the most awesome blessing given by his father Jacob... that the scepter will never depart from him... that Israel's Kings and ultimately the Messiah will come from his lineage. The story of Judah is an incredible story of G-d's redemption.
Jacob is the child of promise. But to receive the blessing from his Father, he put in the skins of his older brother, who was an unrighteous man. Is there a blessing when a righteous man clothes himself with the unrighteous? I believe there is great blessing in this, and is at the core of G-d's heart. If this makes no sense to you, you'll need to listen to understand.
In so many places in Scripture, we are reminded that G-d is not limited to our human understandings of what is possible. When we have radical faith and believe beyond the boundaries of the possible, we then can operate in the realm of the impossible. As Yeshua said, with man it is impossible, but with G-d all things are possible.
We as believers ascribe many of our inclinations to the leading of the Holy Spirit. That may be true... but it is important to realize that there are other forces at work within us. Our own filters and perceptions also speak into our brain, and can trick us into thinking we are hearing from the Ruach, when really we are hearing from our past hurts, pains, experiences, etc. We need to ask Adonai for help in distinguishing between these two competing voices.
Noah's Ark not only survived the flood, it rose above it. Yeshua, who lives within us, walks on tumultuous waters. We as His Body need to learn to float... to not be consumed by the waters of the world, but to rise above it.
When our spirits are aligned with principalities such as fear, bitterness, self-hatred, others, our health can be impacted. We will be hosting a special service on Yom Kippur to recognize when we have aligned with such things, and repent and renounce of them.

Adonai's Kingdom is one of justice. The laws He put forth regarding how cases are to be tried are no less than revolutionary, and are unparalleled in the world. However, as just as G-d's Torah is regarding how guilt is to be determined, Yeshua uses those same laws not to condemn but to set us free. As it is written, "Having canceled out the certificate of debt consisting of decrees against us, which was hostile to us; He has taken it out of the way, having nailed it to the cross. When He had disarmed the rulers and authorities, He made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them."
One downside of Christian theology is that its creeds were documented while tossing out the Torah and rejecting the Jewishness of Yeshua. So when Yeshua is placed back into His original context, a world of revelation can open up. Even well-known Scriptures like "The Word Became Flesh", when looked through the lens of Torah, opens up new understanding. And this Torah-based understanding reveals in greater ways who He is, and who we are, as we "grow INTO Messiah" (Eph 4:15).
