Whether you are 5 or 95 you have experienced rejection. Let’s be honest rejection stings! It hurts and it can lead you down that, “I’m not enough pit… I’m not smart enough, talented enough, pretty enough, you name it enough! But that is misdirection, and God wants to take your rejection and redirect you! When we surrender rejection into redirection, God can open doors and put us on the path that is according to His plan, which is the best plan! In this episode I talk about how we can use Jesus as a model of how to handle rejection and some questions we can ask ourselves when we are facing the pain of rejection. Enjoy today’s Coffee Break!

Calling all dynamic women entrepreneurs in business and Ministry! Are you interested in sharing your journey as a business owner or ministry leader and empowering others to pursue their dreams? There are so many women who have a dream that God has placed on their hearts to pursue, but they just need that extra encouragement, inspiration, and practical information on how to get started. In the last newsletter, I have a call for guests to be on the podcast for this very topic.
However, I wanted to see if anyone would be interested in participating in a one-day, small summit where women inspire women to turn their passions into thriving businesses and impactful ministries! This could be interactive workshops where you get to guide aspiring entrepreneurs, sharing your wisdom, insights, and secrets behind your business or ministry. I am thinking of October/ November.
Here's a brainstorm of what the workshops would entail:

This month we will study the Proverbs that talk about the power of our tongue. The tongue has the power to bring life or death, and the impact it has on those around us is tremendous! Today I discuss Proverbs 12:18 “The words of the reckless pierce like swords, but the tongue of the wise brings healing.”
The Key Reflection Questions are: 1. Are your words giving life to the people around you? Do you encourage, build up, and restore? 2. What reckless words do you find yourself saying, if any, and think about where those words are stemming from? Is there bitterness, envy, anger, or sadness that you may need to tend to that is simmering? 3. Think about how you can intentionally bring healing into the lives of your family, friends, and people you don’t know well? Think about this in terms of interacting with strangers; how can you be a peacemaker instead of a peacebreaker? 4. Think about the verse, Can both fresh water and saltwater flow from the same spring? We know this can not happen, but do you find this happening in your life? Are you praising God and cursing man? Thank you for listening! Let's be peacemakers in a world of peacebreakers!

In today's Faith, Coffee & a Kid Podcast episode, I discuss my 30-day commitment to improving my physical health. The past year has been full of ups and downs, and all around, that has left me feeling physically unmotivated, and it shows. Yesterday, I had the opportunity to see Nick Vujicic speak; if you haven't heard him, he is amazing! He has an incredible story that reminds you that you can can overcome any obstacle with the strength of Christ and an attitude of faith. Nick was born with no limbs, and to see what God has done through him is inspiring! But, I was reminded of the Wisdom Wednesday Series about the sluggard and how we have to be willing to get up, take our mat, and plow in season.
I made the commitment to myself to work out for the next 30 days, which includes cardio every for at least 20 minutes, strength training with weights, crunches, and stretching. Today I talk about a new movie streaming on Pureflix called “Courageous.” This is a movie about five men and how they navigate through being in the police force and interacting with their families. It is a film about fatherhood, trusting God, obedience, grief, character, and choices. We can never underestimate the measure of a man. Written by the Kendrick brothers, the film gives an important message about the great impact that fathers have on their children. It shows men being countercultural in the best light!

Today is all about plowing in season to either reap a harvest or not. Proverbs 20:4 tell us, “ The Sluggard does not plow in season so at harvest finds nothing.” Don’t you love how the Proverbs gives us practical wisdom on the consequences of our action or non—action? When we do not plow in season we often miss opportunities, we miss God’s blessings and we miss the opportunity to be a blessing to others. Today I dive into this scripture and reflect on how we with reap a harvest or not. Some reflection questions are: what seeds are you planting in your life in your ministry in your family that you are nurturing? Or what seeds are you not. 2) are you plowing in season? What are you investing in? How have you invested in the gifts you are blessed with? Are you moving towards God‘s purpose or away from it? 3) Think about the season you are currently in, is it a season of opportunity or a season of preparation, to sit in prayer and get ready for the next chapter of your life? Today’s episode is my review of the 2023 romantic comedy, “Heaven Sent,” featuring Karen Abercrombie and Leon Prigden. It’s a delightful movie about being open to love at any age! Hospitality is not just about a pretty table, it's about how you position your heart to serve others and to make them feel comfortable. If you are at ease your guests will be too. We always hear it's not about being perfect it's about being present and I 100% agree. The presentation doesn't matter if your guests feel uncomfortable. Often we get caught up in the presentation because we try to give our guests the best experience we can give them, but the best experience starts with a relaxed hostess. Preparation and pre-decision help you be present and not worry about those details that drive us crazy.
Today I will discuss how to take Thanksgiving inventory so that you do that pre-decision work and get prepared so you can be present! In this episode I'll talk about taking inventory of the following:
- Tables, chairs, and serving tables
- The number of plates (main course, dessert, and any appetizers) you need for the number of guests you are hosting.
- The number of glasses, coffee cups, or wine glasses
- Silverware
- Napkins whether cloth or paper
- Serving Dishes & Utensils
- Tablecloths

I am devastated by the murders of the children and teachers in Uvalde Texas. My heart like the rest of our country is broken and I’m mourning these precious children. Why does this keep happening and why are we not acting? We are called to Do Something! We can not tout being a nation of family values when we do not protect our most vulnerable. Today is raw and I’m speaking from my heart and as a mom. As a community we need to have an open honest dialogue but we also need to be a community of action, our children’s life literally depends on it.

Matthew 11:28 “Come to me, all of you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take up my yoke and learn from me, because I am lowly and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light."
Happy New Year Friends! In the first podcast episode of 2022, I encourage you to create the most important and formative habit you can ever form... that is finding rest in Jesus! So before you go full steam ahead on those big goals you're pursuing, make sure that you are taking time to refresh, replenish and restore through Rest in Jesus who is the center of everything we do or plan to do. We were not created to go, go, go! In fact the very first book of the Bible, Genesis 2:2 says, "By the seventh day God had finished the work he had been doing; so on the seventh day he rested from all his work." If God the Creator and Author of Life took time to rest, shouldn't you? What's wonderful about resting in Jesus is that he renews our strength, refreshes our faith, and restores our spirit. Christ never meant for your to carry your burdens alone, and in Mathew 11:28 he gives us an invitation to come to find rest in him.
Listen in as I dive into why we should find rest in Jesus and how it keeps us in alignment with our identity in Christ; how the Lord replenishes our spiritual tank and the ways he restores and cleanses us so we stay in relationship with him. You will see how much the scriptures support us finding rest in Jesus and what happens to us when we make the choice to take time to be in his presence. I also give 7 Practical Ways for You to Find Rest in Jesus in your day-to-day life.

Fear is the mother of all invisible fences! It keeps us confined, robs us of opportunities and makes sure our talents and gifts stay tucked away. In this last of the 4 part series on breaking down the invisible fences holding you back, I tackle fear from a spiritual and practical perspective, giving you tips on how to topple this fence and live a life that is authentic and on purpose!
In this episode I dive into my own personal experience with fear, what scripture says about fear and how to handle it along with practical tips such as:
-Examining and reflecting on the core question...why are you afraid? -Evaluate the cost/benefit of fear -How to choose freedom over fear -Taking inventory of your fear by looking at triggers, and how they manifest (for ex. Does fear manifest through one of the other invisible fences such as limiting beliefs, holding onto the past or being complacent in a narrative that doesn’t reflect the story you want to live)
You are more than a conqueror! Don’t allow fear to overcome your faith! Faith is believing what you can’t see and having trust in the Lord’s perfect plan and fear is the exact opposite! Fear is being afraid of what you can’t see, and not trusting in the sovereignty of God to pursue His plan.
When fear is put in its proper context it protects us from danger and keeps us safe when it dominates us it stops protecting and instead prevents us from living authentically.

If we stay mentally and emotionally stuck in the past we can not perceive what God has in store for us. The past doesn’t exist but it can build an invisible fence that keeps you confined to a small place that doesn’t fit who you are in Christ!

Recently, I presented a lesson on Lot's Wife in my Ladies Bible Study and I could not believe how much meat was in my study! This was perhaps one of my favorite lessons. Lot's Wife doesn't even have a name in the scriptures, but her story, has many lessons it in it for us today. I found that we are not so different than Lot's Wife. How often do we look back, trying to hold onto a past situation, relationship, habit, or lifestyle that doesn't fit who we are in Christ. When we refuse to look forward we are living in disobedience and we become immobilized unable to receive blessings or be a blessing!
