Humans came from a powerful and profound design. How can we live at our full potential? Whatever we grew up with became our "normal". And we humans are very good at reproducing whatever is "normal" to us. That is fantastic for a few but really stinks for too many others. Between what you already believe about life and the losses you've faced, you may want to break up with your "normal" in order to discover a life can exceed your expectations. Imagine getting comfortable with that.
If we're open to it, we can become whole inside beyond what we've ever experienced, and life can exceed our expectations. Let hope arise.

The Secret Battle No One Sees: Your Relationship With Yourself.
Have you ever stopped to consider that the longest relationship you'll ever have is the one you have with yourself?
The way you talk to yourself—whether with grace or criticism, hope or shame—quietly influences every area of your life. It shapes your confidence, your relationships, your faith, and even your ability to receive God's love.
In this episode, Lenora shares a deeply personal story about discovering that her greatest obstacle wasn't her circumstances—it was the broken relationship she had with herself. Through Scripture and practical encouragement, you'll discover why so many people unknowingly live under the weight of negative self-talk, self-rejection, and shame, and how agreeing with what God says about you begins to change everything.
Instead of striving to become "good enough," you'll learn how to stop believing the lies, renew your mind with God's truth, and begin seeing yourself through His eyes. You'll also discover simple, biblical ways to replace destructive thoughts with life-giving truth and experience greater peace, freedom, confidence, and joy.
If you've ever struggled with feeling unworthy, stuck, or never quite enough, this episode will encourage you to embrace your true identity in Christ and the incredible value God has always placed on your life.

What if the greatest obstacle to your future isn't your past—but believing something God never said?
Every one of us has believed lies at some point. Words spoken over us. Labels we've accepted. Failures we've carried. Fears that quietly shaped how we see ourselves.
But what if those voices were never God's?
In this episode, Lenora shares two humorous stories with her young son before exploring one of the most profound questions in the Bible:
"Who told you that you were naked?" (Genesis 3:11)
That question reaches far beyond Adam and Eve. It invites each of us to examine the beliefs we've accepted about our identity, value, purpose, and future.

• What Jesus meant when He promised abundant life
• How a distorted view of God can hinder receiving His promises
• Why trusting God's goodness is part of the "fight of faith"
• The surprising realization that God is not only holy and powerful—but also joyful, generous, and deeply personal

World empires rise and fall, but those who know God remain strong.
In this episode, we explore one of the most powerful verses about spiritual resilience found in Daniel 11:32 — a verse placed in the middle of one of the Bible’s most detailed prophetic chapters about geopolitical turmoil.
In times of confusion, competing narratives, and global uncertainty, Scripture reminds us that the key to discernment is not simply more information — it is knowing God personally and walking closely with Him through prayer.
Jesus invites us to abide in Him so that we can live with clarity, courage, and strength even when the world feels unstable.
In this episode we discuss:
• Why Daniel 11:32 highlights spiritual strength during times of political upheaval
• How deception and flattery can lead people off course
• Why knowing God deeply through prayer is the key to discernment
• What Jesus meant when He said “abide in Me”
• How believers can remain steady when the world feels chaotic
You’ll also hear a prayer asking God for revelation, protection, courage, and clarity during difficult times.
If you feel overwhelmed by voices, opinions, and world events, this episode will encourage you to draw closer to God — the ultimate source of truth and stability.

In a world that feels uncertain and vulnerable, one truth remains steady: God hears you when you pray.
In this powerful and encouraging episode, Lenora shares biblical truth about the power of prayer and the reality of God’s protection. Drawing from scriptures like Psalm 91, Psalm 121:7–8, Isaiah 41:10, Proverbs 18:10, 2 Thessalonians 3:3, Mark 11:24, John 14:13–14, 1 John 5:14–15, and Philippians 4:6–7, this episode reminds you that prayer is not symbolic — it is effective, powerful, and heard.
Whether you’re feeling exposed by world events, personal struggles, spiritual opposition, or anxiety, this episode will help you:
Psalm 91 declares that those who dwell in the shelter of the Most High abide in the shadow of the Almighty. That protection is not poetic language — it is covenant reality.
You are not forgotten. You are not overlooked. You are not spiritually vulnerable when you are under His name.
God planned for you before the foundation of the world (Ephesians 1). He is faithful to guard you against the evil one (2 Thessalonians 3:3). His name is a strong tower (Proverbs 18:10). And when you pray according to His will, He hears you — and you have what you’ve asked of Him (1 John 5:14–15).
This episode ends with a prayer of protection, forgiveness, healing, and bold faith — because your life matters to God.

God thinks deeply about you. He loves you profoundly. And He has always had a powerful, eternal plan for your life.
In this episode, we walk through Ephesians chapter 3 (with insights from The Passion Translation), exploring the breathtaking mystery God revealed through the apostle Paul—that through Jesus Christ, all believers are made co-heirs, brought fully into God’s family, and filled with His very life. We reflect on how God’s plan was set before the foundation of the world, why this mystery was hidden for generations, and how it is now revealed by the Holy Spirit for our strengthening, confidence, and freedom.
This conversation addresses real life—emotional pain, loss, discouragement, unbelief, and spiritual opposition—while continually bringing us back to the unchanging truth: God is good, God is faithful, and His promises are yes and amen. You’ll be encouraged to recognize spiritual authority in Christ, resist unbelief, and grow in confidence through God’s Word, faith, and relationship with Him.
We close with prayer and practical encouragement to speak life, trust God’s promises even when the battle feels long, and allow His extravagant love to become the very foundation of your life.

We are living in an intense and volatile world—marked by anger, division, fear, and constant pressure to find meaning somewhere outside of God. In this episode, Lenora Turner walks through a deeply biblical and hope-filled study of wrath, identity, and belonging, drawing from James 4, Ephesians 1–2, Romans 8, John 1, Psalm 91, and the life of Jesus Himself.
Many believers were taught that being “children of wrath” means God is angry with them—but Scripture tells a far more liberating story. This episode unpacks what the Bible actually means by children of wrath versus children of God, showing that wrath describes a condition of fallen humanity, not God’s posture toward those He loves. Jesus took judgment upon Himself so we could be reborn into a new household, a new identity, and a living relationship with God as our Father.
You’ll hear a reframing of repentance—not as shame or fear, but as turning toward a better source of life—and an invitation to step out of striving, exhaustion, and distorted views of God. This conversation offers clarity, rest, and confidence for anyone weary of chaos, confused about God’s character, or longing to experience real peace, security, and purpose.

Do you feel weary from the chaos, pressure, and constant striving of this world? In this encouraging episode, Lenora invites you to step back into truth—rooted not in opinion, performance, or external success, but in God’s eternal plan for you.
Drawing from Ephesians chapters 1 and 2, we explore the breathtaking reality that you were chosen, planned for, and deeply desired by God before the foundation of the world (Ephesians 1:4–5). Long before your failures, struggles, or doubts, God had already set His love on you—by grace, not by works.
This episode gently addresses weariness, depression, and the false promise that “more” (money, success, approval) will bring satisfaction. Scripture reminds us that true life is found in knowing God (John 17:3), and that even when we were “dead in our trespasses,” God made us alive together with Christ because of His great love (Ephesians 2:1–5).
You’ll hear biblical encouragement on:

In a world filled with violence, uncertainty, and deep suffering, how do we remain anchored in hope, truth, and God’s love for all people? In this episode, Lenora Turner invites you into a reflective and Scripture-rich conversation centered on Ephesians chapter 1—one of the most powerful revelations of who God is and who we are in Christ.
Beginning with prayer for people around the world, including those suffering under oppression, this episode reminds us that “God so loved the world” (John 3:16) and that His heart is for every nation, every person, and every generation. As believers, we are invited to grow in compassion, gratitude, and bold prayer rooted in God’s Word and His eternal purposes.
Lenora walks verse-by-verse through Ephesians 1:3–23, highlighting what Scripture reveals about:
This episode gently dismantles religious performance and replaces it with relational knowing—learning to abide in Christ (John 15:4–5), to remain, continue, and live from intimacy with God rather than striving. You’ll hear encouragement to read Scripture across translations, to ask God for revelation, and to discover the strength, peace, and confidence that come from truly knowing Him.

God’s Presence at Christmas (and Always)
What do you do when your emotions tell you one thing—but God’s Word says another?
What if you feel hopeless when God says, “I am your hope”?
In this Christmas-week episode, we talk honestly about faith when feelings run deep, loneliness during the holidays, and learning to recognize God’s constant presence—even when we don’t feel it. Christmas can be a beautiful season, but it can also be complicated. Family dynamics, grief, anxiety, and unmet expectations can leave us feeling empty instead of fulfilled.
Through Scripture, prayer, and personal stories, I share why God’s presence is what truly sets us apart—and why knowing Him personally changes everything. We reflect on Moses’ bold prayer: “If Your presence does not go with us, don’t send us” and explore how walking with God is not about religion, but relationship.
You’ll also hear about my book 100 Prayers Releasing 100 Cares, a practical prayer guide designed to help you let go of anxiety, align with God’s promises, and pray Scripture with confidence—especially when words are hard to find.

Hello! Today, begins the re-launch of my podcast as "Getting Personal with God". I share the process and what you'll like about it. We also start exploring whether you or I have any assumptions about God. (Spoiler alert... we do :)
I'm super excited to start this journey with you! I know that God is actually excited about this podcast because He is excited about YOU and wants to know you more intimately. This is one way to help connect you with Him more often. Of course, God knows everything, and it is His plan for you to be on the earth at this time, but how much we let Him in is up to us.
If I didn't sense how much God wants to talk with you, work with you, and walk with you, it could be quite vain of me to dare say God is excited about this podcast. However, He numbers the hairs on our heads, so He is pretty focused on us. He doesn't want us to be lonely, to feel shame or guilt, or to be unable to hear His voice. Plus, He likes us both, and He was the one prompting me to begin.
So today starts a fun journey to walk closer with God and get our eyes opened to the wonderful plans He has for us.
Please subscribe so that we can meet again! Lenora

Everybody’s got an opinion. Share it with caution. Real communication takes real effort.
What is an Opinion? o·pin·ion /əˈpinyən/ noun
a view or judgment formed about something, not necessarily based on fact or knowledge. way of thinking, point of view , viewpoint, outlook, angle, slant, attitude, stance, perspective, reflections, idea, assumption, conviction, in my view, if you ask me, the beliefs or views of a large number or majority of people about a particular thing.
Forming opinions are part of how we learn but are risky. Sharing opinions helps gain perspective but opinions could become judgments where we stop listening, stop asking questions and bring division.
Work vs social media response patterns
Bald like a lion? Funny stories of what was said versus what was heard.
Couple communication: Listening versus interpreting. Slowing down to speed up.
Seeking common ground and communicating good will.
The benefits of debates
Discussion matters, debate matters, listening matters, telling the truth, getting to the “truth” matters….. in my opinion.

Mentoring happens on accident and on purpose and being a mentor can be as rewarding as for someone who is being mentored.
In this episode, my associate producer and I talk about the many ways you can be mentored on purpose and even by accident.
When I was younger, I thought that people grow up and whatever happens kind of happens. I really didn’t think you had a choice in your future. If you were born poor, you’d always be poor. If you were born into a rich family, you’d always be rich. Cause that's your lot in life; your normal. And I didn't realize how much you could change what your normal is by changing your focus or input.
As an adult, I had a mentor who changed how I thought. He really focused on asking what's your vision for your life? Your vision is your future. Having this mentor, in this case my pastor, really gave me new ways to think about what you put in your eyes goes into your brain and into your subconscious, which becomes your expectations, and changes your future.
Discover how to change your future by making some of the same decisions successful people make and focusing on what you can take responsibility for.
Benefit from the habits of others. Step by step, new input will bring new output.
Don't rely on an accidental harvest. Choose what we plant to gain what we want to harvest.

This week's guest has a dream of making the dreams of others come true.
President and CEO of ARS Roofing, Gutters & Solar, Letitia Hanke is also the founder of The LIME Foundation in Santa Rosa, California.
Letitia shares how she said "Yes" to opportunity and became the CEO of her own business in her early twenties when her hard work made her stand out and her boss asked her to take over his business when he retired.
She knows how opportunity changes lives and even saves lives. Her own escape from terrible bullying brought her a love for music. The kindness of a teacher and her unexpected opportunity to own a business helped lead her to also start a foundation that seeks to harness each individual's potential by providing vital skills in music and the performing arts, construction, technology and health.
Letitia and Lenora both have experience supporting Opportunity programs and their passion is heard in discussing the life changing work.
In 2020, Letitia was a guest and recipient of a generous donation on "Returning the Favor" with Mike Rowe. Since then, people have reached out to her from across the country to learn how they can create a program for youth as well. She was also a guest on the Kelly Clarkson show.
Her website is TheLIMEFoundation.org and full of information and videos about their work.

Happy New Year! 2021 is here. We don't know what we will face this year but today we talk about what we can do to outgrow our problems.
Kathy Townsend and Lenora Turner have a fun conversation talking about practical and creative ways to strengthen the body, the soul and the spirit.
Most know it takes exercise and good food to strengthen the body but can we exercise the soul? Yes we can and it will make us stronger, and maybe help us conquer some problems along the way.
We can strengthen ourselves by putting different conversations in our head. If we don't have peace in our soul, then it's hard to give our bodies rest. We should do the things we can do to make ourselves healthier, to feel better and to be better.

Lenora Turner interviews Ken Falke, 21 year Navy veteran, entrepreneur, author of Struggle Well and founder of Bouldercrest.org. Many are familiar with PTSD and the intense challenges that can follow the aftermath of trauma but too few know of the hope that can be found in Post Traumatic Growth.
After extensive research and disappointing data on the mental health treatments for PTSD, Ken came upon the research of Dr. Rich Tadeschi and Post Traumatic Growth. From there he began a partnership to document and scale what has been discovered through those who've gone on to thrive after trauma.
Boulder Crest foundation locations in Virginia and Arizona have been the proving ground to test and improve the program and now Boulder Crest Institute can equip others in the methodology to scale this effective program to countless other locations.
The interview and conversation is honest and brings awareness to the low percentage of success until this proven program approach. You'll want to get the book "Struggle Well" and share this information with veterans and first responders struggling with PTS or PTSD.
Visit Bouldercrest.org for more information and to discover new hope for a future where individuals and their families can learn to thrive after trauma.

3Ps In A Pod is about discovering purpose, connecting pathways and sharing perspectives. I have been working with connecting young people to opportunities for over 10 years now and it's allowed me to see a whole lot, learn about what I think are disconnections within education and the workforce, and disconnections with individuals knowing about opportunities. I think there's a lot of ways we can help solve those disconnections.
Purpose: I grew up not really having any idea of what my talents were and pretty insecure about really having any. It turns out that a lot of things you may take for granted about yourself, are the very talents you've been given. If you invest in your talents, they become skills and lo and behold, you can do things for a living that you're actually kind of naturally wired for.
I knew some things I wanted to do but didn't really believe I could do them, but I could. So I want to help young people find out what their talents are, a bit about their own purpose and enjoy the pathway.
Pathways: When you think about pathways, you may not have a very good idea of what the options even are. So it's hard to know what the heck you want to do if you don't even realize what's possible. So at different times in this podcast, different episodes, I want to share, various pathways. Sometimes there'll be interviews with people from different industries or different organizations and you'll get to learn about those.
Perspectives: Then there's perspectives. That's a favorite topic of mine and a favorite word of mine lately, because boy, it's a time to be learning. It's a time to be listening to new perspectives right now in our world. A perspective is a point that you're viewing from, how you're seeing something, the angle you see it from. However I grew up or however you grew up that became your "normal." How we learn is kind of, line by line precept upon precept. We build experience.
The downside of that is that you can lock in so strongly to the way you learn something or what you now have accepted as reality that you no longer see other options. That's the downside of a single perspective.
I share a bit of what I learned while volunteering in jails and prisons for five years.
I realized each one of us have filters on how we hear. We have filters in how we think and when we say something, we assume everyone hears it like we mean it. We assume, somehow, that others have the same perspective that I do.
It's powerful to listen. It's powerful to learn, to see from someone else's perspective. In future episodes we'll have conversations and share stories and touch more on that. I just think it's too important not to include.
Please click subscribe and give me feedback. Tell me what you want to hear about. You have more potential in you than you've ever thought possible. Invest in yourself. There's a lot of great content out there, get it in you. Lenora is your host for 3Ps In a Pod.

Host Lenora Diane introduces her first podcast called three peas in a pod.
Curious by nature she will, over time, talk about a lot of different topics. Sometimes just with Lenora and sometimes there will be interviews. If you're like her, a lot of people in your life make a difference for you.
The podcast is to help you if you're curious about your perspectives, curious about different ways in our life of how we can do things better or sometimes faster, and also purpose. When we find out our why, find out how we're wired and what we really care about. It really helps us. Do either what we do right now better or begin to shift over to things we really care about and can even more naturally make a greater difference.
Lenora grew up in the Northwest and was born in Southern California. She tells of one of her first memories at age two, a bit about her family and re-entering the workforce as a mom. She's spent more than ten years helping youth, and now veterans, gain opportunity in workforce pathways.
