She also serves on the Accomack County School Board and produces #UsingMyVoice, a platform for racial and social justice discussions. Dr. Johnson enjoys amateur photography and manages LCJFotos. Married to Timothy Johnson since 1988, they have two children and grandsons, whom she lovingly calls her “heartbeats.”

Rena A. Finney’s thirst for reading and writing blossomed when she was very young. Even though Rena put her childhood stories away with her paper dolls, her gift for storytelling remained. She penned and self-published her first novel in 2000. Rena was offered a two-book deal with Urban Soul an imprint of Kensington Publishing in 2006. Her first book Halfway to Tomorrow was released in 2007. She went on to release seven novels and contributed to one anthology under this imprint. By her second book, Rena earned the title of Best Selling Author, selling in both the Women Fiction and Christian markets. She gained popularity crafting stories that hinge upon the “happily ever after” and intertwined with faith, hope, forgiveness and love. After a few detours and a couple of unexpected turns, she returns to the literary arena with her newest novel, On the Way to Happy which will release in February 2025.
