Classically trained pianist. I enjoy playing not only the traditional repertoire but also pieces from unusual composers.
A majestic and solemn work that offers young pianists a taste of choral-style music within a solo piano setting
Schumann’s New Year's Eve, the closing piece of Album für die Jugend, Op. 68, is a reflective and hopeful work. Its moderate tempo invites players to explore a nuanced sense of timing and emotional warmth, perfectly suited for advanced students ready to express deeper musical subtleties. New Year's Eve combines nostalgia and optimism in a gentle, captivating farewell to the set.
Little Fugue stands out as one of the most challenging in the set. This piece, with its intricate counterpoint and layered voices, demands both technical skill and deep musical understanding, making it best suited for the very advanced young pianist.
This is a beautifully evocative piece that captures the calm, yet melancholic spirit of northern landscapes.

Composer Ricardo Castro (1864-1907) was a Mexican concert pianist and composer. He wrote for both piano and symphony orchestra.

Atrevido , Brazilian tango published in 1913 Casa Arthur Napoleão (Sampaio, Araújo & Cia.), dedicated to his friend Dr. Jorge Fragoso. The son of the dedicator stated, in an interview with the biographer Luiz Antonio de Almeida:
"My father was graduating in medicine when he met Ernesto Nazareth. He was leaving college and going to play at Cinema Odeon, listening to Nazareth. From there, a friendship was born that would last a lifetime. After graduating, my father moved to São Paulo, even hosting the composer in our house. On one of my father's trips to the Odeon, Nazareth introduced him to new music. And since he had, my father, some notion of music called Nazareth's attention to an "oversight". as to the number of bars contained in a certain part of that song, or something along those lines. He then looked at my father and said:
' - You're pretty cheeky, huh!...'
And what was my father's surprise when Nazareth appeared with the 'Tango' Atrevido , dedicated to him..."

This song gets its initial spark of inspiration from "Sisi Ni Moja" by Jacob Narverud and is composed to reflect the songs and styles of powerful female singers such as Taylor Swift, Rihanna, and P!nk. It was composed for the bat mitzvah of a young woman who is herself creative, inspiring, and powerful.

I still remember being ten or eleven years old and listening to this one in a student recital in the conservatory. Great times!
A small choir in a church sings as the listeners meditate. Kids cannot wait to go back outside to play.
Charming, but so short! Is happiness so brief? wait... if I play it slower... would it be as happy?
My sister used to play this one growing up. I can still remember her practicing the "fast" middle section. I even made some funny lyrics to go with it... and she was not happy with that.
(untitled), C major (based on "Prison-Terzetto" ("Euch werde Lohn in bessern Welten") from Beethoven's Fidelio)
After I recorded this I checked YouTube and found a bunch of kids playing this one. I guess is a popular piece for young pianists.

"Here a small "etude", although it does not have the difficulty or virtuosity dimension to belong to that category as understood by romanticism, which defined this genre, but has some interesting musical ideas in my opinion, and in the technical aspect, it works especially arpeggios and transfer of the hand on the keyboard, while having to sing the melody." -Santiago Vega November 2019.

"I couldn't tell you who I am influenced by, it is probably everyone from Tchaikovsky to Radiohead, so I'm not really sure if these pieces fall under the genre of neo-classical, new classical, avant-garde, new wave, contemporary classical or one of the numerous other genres out there, but I do know that they come directly from my heart and soul." -Keith Hide.

Received some recordings by Brazilian bands in the first decade of the twentieth century, but a few years later would become one of the biggest international hits of Brazilian music (and perhaps the first in large-scale), when it was published in 1914 in the USA and Paris it became the great example of the maxixe, being danced in the halls of the 1910s"

I don't know much about this composer, but I am playing this Nocturne in the 'romantic' tradition... it seems very fitting.

Thanks to Patrick Gordon-Davis for creating/editing the score. He wrote: "I copied the sheet music to Musescore because the sheet music is only available on one website and the pages of music are too small on the page and faded, and this is a song I would like to play. I think it would be nice (pun not intended; Balbi was apparently from the town of Nice.) for more people to hear this song!".

Composer: Charles-Valentin Alkan Piano: Carlos Márquez
Nothing melancholic about this one!
"Marche Triomphale" in B Major was composed by Alkan in 1844 and is dedicated to Duchesse de Montebello.
