20But Christ has indeed been raised from the dead,the firstfruitsof those who have fallen asleep
3He humbledyou, causing you to hunger and then feeding you with manna,which neither you nor your ancestors had known, to teachyou that man does not live on breadalone but on every word that comes from the mouthof theLord.
22But the fruitof the Spirit is love,joy, peace,forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,23gentleness and self-control.Against such things there is no law.24Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the fleshwith its passions and desires.25Since we live by the Spirit,let us keep in step with the Spirit.26Let us not become conceited,provoking and envying each other.
19Why, then, was the law given at all? It was added because of transgressionsuntil the Seedto whom the promise referred had come. The law was given through angelsand entrusted to a mediator.20A mediator,however, implies more than one party; but God is one.21Is the law, therefore, opposed to the promises of God? Absolutely not!For if a law had been given that could impart life, then righteousness would certainly have come by the law.22But Scripture has locked up everything under the control of sin,so that what was promised, being given through faith in Jesus Christ, might be given to those who believe.
15Brothers and sisters,let me take an example from everyday life. Just as no one can set aside or add to a human covenant that has been duly established, so it is in this case.16The promises were spoken to Abraham and to his seed.Scripture does not say and to seeds, meaning many people, but and to your seed,[a]meaning one person, who is Christ.17What I mean is this: The law, introduced 430 yearslater, does not set aside the covenant previously established by God and thus do away with the promise.18For if the inheritance depends on the law, then it no longer depends on the promise;but God in his grace gave it to Abraham through a promise.
7Understand, then, that those who have faithare children of Abraham.8Scripture foresaw that God would justify the Gentiles by faith, and announced the gospel in advance to Abraham: All nations will be blessed through you.[a]9So those who rely on faithare blessed along with Abraham, the man of faith.10For all who rely on the works of the laware under a curse,as it is written: Cursed is everyone who does not continue to do everything written in the Book of the Law.[b]11Clearly no one who relies on the law is justified before God,because the righteous will live by faith.[c]12The law is not based on faith; on the contrary, it says, The person who does these things will live by them.[d]13Christ redeemed us from the curse of the lawby becoming a curse for us, for it is written: Cursed is everyone who is hung on a pole.[e]14He redeemed us in order that the blessing given to Abraham might come to the Gentiles through Christ Jesus,so that by faith we might receive the promise of the Spirit.
You foolishGalatians!Who has bewitched you?Before your very eyes Jesus Christ was clearly portrayed as crucified.2I would like to learn just one thing from you: Did you receive the Spiritby the works of the law,or by believing what you heard?3Are you so foolish? After beginning by means of the Spirit, are you now trying to finish by means of the flesh?[a]4Have you experienced[b]so much in vainif it really was in vain?5So again I ask, does God give you his Spirit and work miraclesamong you by the works of the law, or by your believing what you heard?6So also Abraham believed God, and it was credited to him as righteousness.
Galatians 2:15-18New International Version15We who are Jews by birthand not sinful Gentiles16know that a person is not justified by the works of the law,but by faith in Jesus Christ.So we, too, have put our faith in Christ Jesus that we may be justified by faith in[a]Christ and not by the works of the law, because by the works of the law no one will be justified.17But if, in seeking to be justified in Christ, we Jews find ourselves also among the sinners,doesnt that mean that Christ promotes sin? Absolutely not!18If I rebuild what I destroyed, then I really would be a lawbreaker.
6I am astonished that you are so quickly deserting the one who calledyou to live in the grace of Christ and are turning to a different gospel7which is really no gospel at all. Evidently some people are throwing you into confusionand are trying to pervertthe gospel of Christ.8But even if we or an angel from heaven should preach a gospel other than the one we preached to you,let them be under Gods curse!9As we have already said, so now I say again: If anybody is preaching to you a gospel other than what you accepted,let them be under Gods curse!
36When the voice had spoken, they found that Jesus was alone. The disciples kept this to themselves and did not tell anyone at that time what they had seen.
