Naked and Raw is a show that explores classic rock music by breaking it down to it's original multitrack format and listening to the individual elements that make a hit. Hosted by Stormy and the Jungleking, this show will introduce you to a new perspective on the songs that make up the soundtrack to your life. Recorded at the Eagle Radio Network on the campus of Mt San Jacinto College. About your hosts;
Stormy's Bio: It all started with a transistor radio when I was 10. A little gift from my uncle made a huge impact on me. I found Rock n Roll on that radio: Zeppelin, Aerosmith, Queen. Years later as a local stage tech I’m now part of that scene. My study for my Advanced Certification in Audio Engineering landed me in Junglking's classroom. Now in love with all things audio, I took up singing and developing my radio personality. This podcast is an extension of my desire to be a broadcaster.
Jungleking's Bio: I have worked in the concert production industry for 30 years. I've had the honor of being the front of house engineer for many of the worlds top recording acts. From Four Tops and Beach Boys to Nickelback and Maroon 5, I've worked with the best. I also have had years in radio broadcasting, as well as being a performing musician my whole life. I've been a professor of Audio and Recording Technology for the past 12 years at MSJC. My love and knowledge for music runs deep and Naked and Raw is a perfect outlet to share that passion!

Check it out as we strip down Morresey's vocal tracks, and pick apart the layers. Stormy is out this week and so we welcome our very special guest, the one and only Queen of the Jungle.... a self proclaimed connoisseur of The Smiths.
We've gone of the rails and taken a break from deconstructing to bring you this killer mash-up mix of 7 hits in their own right. All of it is layered over the core groove of Watching the Detectives by Elvis Costello. You kinda need to hear it a few times to fully appreciate it. There's just a lot going on....in a good way. You like horns?... We got 'em! You like 60's funkified, jazz fusion, rock, and R&B? This Canadian-American group delivers. This week, we deconstruct Spinning Wheel by Blood, Sweat, and Tears. This classic hits hard right out of the chute, and doesn't let up, all the way through to the crazy calliope woodwinds climax. It found it's way above the pot smoke haze to make it to #2 on Billboards Hot 100 and winning Album of the Year Grammy. Dig it!
This week's song is Smokin"! No really, that's the title... And we break it down for you in honor of 420. Boston was the ultimate DIY project that turned into 20 million copies sold. Tom Sholz is the genius behind the band. He played all guitar, keys, and bass on the entire album. Brad Delp's vocals are one of a kind badassery. Dig into this one with Jungleking and Stormy for a thoroughly satisfying experience.
The legendary Eagles get to be front and center this week. Expert musicianship and beautiful harmonies are what these guys do.... with their eyes closed and one hand tied behind their back. Hotel California is from the album with the same title in 1976. The songs hold up perfectly to this day.
The band's name sounds like a little old lady, but the music sounds like someone else......hmmmm.....can't seem to put my finger on it. Anyway, these group of rockers are a young age 19 to 22 and play with the skill and bravado of some other band that i can't quite grasp...... Today, we dissect When the Curtain Falls, from Greta Van Fleet's 3rd album, released in 2018. Give 'em a listen and let me know who they remind you of.........

A pioneer in the early days of MTV, Peter Gabriel hit with force. Hits like Big Time and Red Rain catapulted him to stardom with videos that garnered many awards. 1986 saw Peter Gabriel's 5th album, So, hit the charts in Canada, US, and Europe with it's first single, Sledgehammer! We break it down for you....... the funky guitar rhythms, the synth and horn riffs, the playful vocals, and the shakuhachi flute....... Can you handle it? Probably. Check it out here!
Happy New Year. Our first podcast of 2019 pays homage to the staple of your Goth rock diet, The Cure. We have wanted to do a goth segment for a while, but raw tracks are hard to come by. This hit was one of just a few available. The happiest goth song ever, Friday, I'm In Love. Listen for some fun vocal improvisation at the end of the track. Robert Smith might have actually been smiling.......
This entry is from David Bowie......after he grew his eyebrows back from the Ziggy Stardust and Aladdin Sane phases of his career. David stepped out from the guise of characters and was truly "himself" for a change. The album, Young Americans, spawned a number of hits for Bowie, but Fame rocketed to #1 in the USA, to Bowie's surprise, as it wasn't his favorite song on the album. Here, we solo all of the tracks to sample the raw ingredients of this classic hit.
Epic talent is represented on this episode in the form of Freddie Mercury and David Bowie, backed by the signature bass line of John Deacon, thick guitar work of Brian May, and thunderous drums of Roger Taylor. Before we break down the tracks we explore the history and encounters leading up to the making of Under Pressure, from the Queen album, Hot Space.

Back in the studio together and back to our punk ways with the premier American punk band, Ramones. Blitzkrieg Bop was the first track from the first album in 1976. We break it down and listen to Joey's vocal track along with the backing vocals. We examine the bass, drums, and guitar as they bash out this punk classic. Hey Ho, Let's Go!

From the 1983 smash album, Synchronicity, this titular track draws Jungian comparisons between two seemingly unrelated events. A more mature and complex band by this point, this song is both driving and haunting. Listen to guitar squeals and chorus harmonies as you've never heard them. This album would be their last release before disbanding.
