People can praise you to the graveLife has hidden costs. Calculate the cost of doing vs the cost of not doing. For example, it is not what the the book cost, but how much it cost not reading it. It is not the cost of going to the gym, but how much it cost not going to the gym. It is not the cost of fixing something, but how much it cost not fixing it or not fixing it the right way. We calculate the cost of attending a seminar, a workshop, a dinner meeting or a network session but does not calculate the cost of not attending such meeting. There hidden cost of life is both the cost it self and the reward. It is the missed opportunity itself and the opportunity it self . In every opportunity there is a hidden thing: the benefit of the opportunity in tangibles and the benefit of the opportunity in intangibles. Often we fix our eyes on the tangibles, but miss the lessons of the intangibles. The later is how we measure an opportunity. The intangibles are the transfarables, the redoubles, the things no one can take from you and the lessons no book and no school can teach you. For example, there are ideas you may have had for years, sometimes the whole decade but you did not act on them. You did not act Ont hem becuase you felt the idea was too small to wa rant your attention or you did not have the technical skills to act on it. Or something else. If you had acted on it, you have have had it go one of the two ways: South or north (good or bad, successful or fail. If it failed/ you’d have learned what not to do next time, what to do better, when to launch, how to prepare, how to sell the idea, how to network your idea, how to hire (if it elated to that), how to work hard, how to pay attention. Some of these lessons can’t be learnt from a class, you may need to reinvent the wheel using available screws and rubber. You would have learned to be a better person inside or have actually a better, bold, clear thinking persons The opposite would be the idea worked so good it changed your whole life and opened even more opportunities. That is life. Send your voice note or text or email us for feedback and reviews. With every choice you make, there is a downside to it and an upside. Whenever you conceive a new goal, action, intention, dream or plan, your mind goes to work overtime to produce evidence of pain related to the new action. The evidence of pain has been passively recorded in your subconscious mind through past failures or abandoned attempts. What it does not do is to “actively” find pleasure related to that pain once you have gone through it. You have to actively pursue whatever goal, even if your mind naively says “it will be painful” Becuase that short-term mental, emotional, or physical pain is the only price to be paid for the long term pleasure you have been hoping for or dreaming about.

s to become another (the essence of our talk today) We all have to go through some form of change every once in a while because it is necessary for out growth, to achieve a new goal, to build something, etc. - if you always do what you have always done you will always get what you have always got. - To get to the next level, you have to become another person (meaning you have to change) - If two people experiencing happiness in their relationship, someone between the two of you have to initiate change. One man once said, if things look blurry, you have to change the spectacle with which you are looking. The sooner you do that, the sooner you experience new happiness. - There are some levels in your life, family, career or business that you will never experience until you decide to change. Courage is the physical and mental to act positively and progressively towards a goal even when circumstances tell you otherwise. Even when feelings of fear tells you to hide your thoughts and not act. Courage is the ability to refuse to be controlled or paralyzed by the thoughts or feelings of fear. It is the effective management of time, opportunity, and talent. It has nothing to do with what is happening outside, but what is inside. It takes courage to manifest a dream or reach a goal. It is possible to be a one hit success, but it takes courage to maintain success or grow it. It is the ability to jump and grab opportunities even when you do not have the full view of what it is all about. Sometimes success cannot be fully articulated or fully painted before it happens, courage gives meaning to dreams, it gives shape to imagination and gives power to your name, it earns you respect. Nobody wants to hang around cowards all the time. They will tell you I sow a door opened, I walked in and the rest is history. Some of your best of life is not found in the seat of comfort or certainty, but in the obscure step of uncertainty. When a brave man or woman takes a stand, the spine of cowards is shaken. The mind of critiques get aroused and the doors of opportunity widens, and the seat of obscurity flattens. Having courage does not mean you are afraid, but you have the wisdom to ignore feelings of fear and doubt even when it is most tempting to succumb to it. In other words, a courageous person makes the choice to willingly confront pain, uncertainty, danger and intimidation. You make the choice to leave comfort. You can find yourself saying or doing difficult things even when faced with opposition.

Any man can father a child. But being a parent and a dad to that child is a process, it requires commitment, will, intentional thought, deeper love for nurturing, building, moulding, guiding, encouraging, strengthening, empowering, affirming, and more. Men are often very emotionally bankrupt people. Men often chose to replace or substitute their affection and emotional availability with material. It makes children grow up seeing you as nothing but a charity fund for their social ambitions instead of a place to run to when frustrated the first person to call when good things happen. Most parents get to hear the good of their children from helpers. My dad was not educated like many of are today. He was a handy man. His job was to operate a machine. When he was retrenched, he started a small business. Even taught it did not work out, he made sure that he spends his last days with us, bragging about us in front of all these people. His best gift for was the gift of the presence. When I was young, he sat with me to do homework and challenged me to think and love learning. The other day I was doing maths and he said he is a better mathematician than I am. He said his mathematical equation which did not make sense and said “one one up and cover up keeper two, what remains”?” It took us days arguing the validity of the question. Mom said it is 1+1-2. All the time, this man taught me what means to take care of his wife. How to take care of us. In most of his failures he taught me 7 lessons about life, relationships and business: 1. You don’t have to understand everything in the process of life. Just be always ready to learn 2. Do what you like now (like reading and studying) so that you can do what you really like and want later. 3. Be patient. Life follows a pattern, learn it, understand and wait for your turn. 4. Have a good understanding of time. every good thing takes time to build, but you have to put the work by yourself. 5. Don’t allow good products to dry out, they will die. If you want to keep growing, keep learning. Once you allow to be dry, you die. 6. Do not allow your lack of understanding of the entire process of life delude you of your goal 7. Don’t allow chaff to pile up, they will choke the life out of you. Deal with all bad habits before they eat you alive. He taught me to be careful as to who I allow into my life. Some things look good from a distance, but will drag you to the mud without notice. Research conducted in the US shows that 1 in 4 children live in fatherless homes. the following 7 effects of disengaged fathers. 1. Teenegers are 7x more likely to fall pregnant than where a father is present and available 2. Are more likely to have behavioural problems 3. Have 4 times greater risk of suffering the sting of poverty 4. More likely to abuse drugs and alcohol (if you add faithlessness and unemployment and poverty, the risk is worse) 5. More likely to go to prison 6. More likely to commit violent crimes 7. More likely to suffer abuse and neglect in multiple forms

Every next level of your life will require a different, better you. Often our goals are bigger than our current ability. Hence you need to pursue a little bit of a stretch before you can achieve it. Capacity is your maximum ability to contain something, to do something, to deliver something to carry something or to produce something. Problems cannot be solved at the level where they were created

This week I am joined by Ebenezer Mamabolo with Rebecca Phala to help you prepare your mind in setting your agenda for 2019. A person must set an agenda that clearly stipulates what needs to be done, when and for how long and where. It is not good to go about life as a wondering generality that’s waiting for things to happen without you applying yourself. You cannot be going everywhere with everyone doing nothing, but getting tired everyday.
Any person that you know who has achieved extraordinary results first had extraordinary thoughts, that grew into extraordinary ambition, then translated into extraordinary purpose driven plan and backed with massive action. So they set the agenda and work the agenda and work it with 10 times the action. Nothing just happens. You have to make it happen. Six things you need to know to stick to 2019 goals. * Have singularity Of thought: pick that which you really want to go after, and go after it all cost. Refuse mental distraction. Focus. * Be specific: know what you want and clearly define it. Don’t run around. Often what makes you not to achieve your goals is because you want to lose weight but don’t know how many KG and by when and how. * Be realistic: disappointment and hurts often comes from expecting too much. Know your ability and your potential ability. Master the small things before you climb to the big challanges. It’s ok to have a dream of being a millionaire, but first accept the challange if having R10,000 in your account and not be frustrated * Learn to manage time and relationships. Know what time it is. How long it will take to do what you want to do, who will be your partner, who will help you and what you will offer to benefit them. * Estimate the cost: what will it take you to achieve those goals for 2019: time, effort, money, losses, things you need to separate yourself from, etc * Plan how you will cope with competing desires. There are things that will keep poping In to frustrate your priorities. If you don’t have a plan to deal with this, when things that impact on what you do, you need to have an alternative route to keep the main thing the main thing. Do not be a Proffessional starter: some one who always begins something but never resolve to finish. * Develop a strong taste for risk. Get out of the comfort zone and jump into the new territories. It is very risky not taking risks. Set great goals to fulfil the vision Truth: if you don’t set goals, you will be used as n asset to achieve other people’s goals. 1. Determine the area that needs attention and know exactly what you want to accomplish. My advice is make sure you pay attention to the 8 life areas that influence your life : health, social, family, finance, personal development, career, spiritual, career. And write it down. 2. Determine the milestones for the goal. How will you know if you have achieved it? 3. Break the big picture into small doable things chunks. If you want to lose 10kg by June 2019... start by saying “ I run 2km on Monday, Tuesday and Friday. I want to loos 2kg by end of feb, etc. you don’t have to know how to go about the whole journey. Just know the end and the beginning . The rest usually falls into place. Don’t wait till you figure out all the steps.... 4. Break your goal into terms. Short, medium and final with time lines. This helps you to know if you are on track. And then you are able to review 5. Tell someone about it. Have accountability partners. Research shows that telling someone about your goals increases the likelihood of you doing it. You need to surround yourself with people who can or will support the goal. 6. Set priorities that influence the achievement of the goal. Once you set a goal, decide what things cannot be missed on daily basis: eg: saying the goals out loud twice a day (it helps you to become the person before you achieve the results) 7. Decide on loses: what are you willing to let go. 8. Action. Work the plan and resolve to stop at nothing.

One year from now, you will look back and wish you had started today.
Everywhere people make some yearly resolve (resolutions) to do certain things or achieve certain goals, but often, those are ordinary rhetorics used without understanding.
“Rome was not built in one day,” an expression that affirms that whatever the dream is , what ever the desire is,for you to realize its true potential, you have to START
Starting is a hard thing Sometimes. The reason why people do not achieve goals is because they are used to what they have, even if it’s hard.
But if you going to have a great year, you need to make a resolve to start
Where do you begin? 1. pre workout: inner work, Personal introspection. Review what worked and what did not work last time. For every success and failur, there is a cause. Check what it is and first deal with it. You cannot build a new house on a old Brocken foundation. If you want to get married, deal with past wounds. If you want to start a busines, deal with past failures. Accept past rejections. Then on the another side, improve what did not work best. 2. Do a SWOT analysis: do you have that it takes. What are the risks. What are the opportunities of pursuing your goal. What are the benefit of not pursuing your goal. What are the threats: what’s new around you, should you stay the same, what can happen to you. Should you launch, what can happen to you 3. Develop the mindset and the personality of the person you want to become 4. Make a proper assessment of your life: health, emotions, finances, personal development , career, social life, family, spiritual. How healthy are you? 5. Before you start anything, the first place to go to is inside and address these 8 areas.

For you to fit in the “US” you need to fit in the “I”. For you make a meaningful contribution in any relationship, you need to first who you are. “I” in the marriage makes the “US”, the “me” makes the “we”. Every entity that needs to succeed needs to know the power of team work, but the chain relies on the individual entities within the team. Every team is as strong as it’s weakest member. The I AM factor teaches you that your attitude, perception and opinion about YOU contribute greatly to all that happens to you. It’s not selfishness, but it is recognizing that you have the power over your life.

As a people, we often have a tendency to look for the things that go wrong on our lives and complain. We should, on the contrary, look for the little positive things that happen in our lives. The things that happen to our good and add value to our lives. You need to Develop a habit of expressing thankfulness in your life, daily. Sometimes things do not go as you hoped they would, but you should be thankful for the person have become. Be thankful to God, to your family and thank your self for not giving up, for starting that project, for trying again...

When was the last time you had a great idea and was excited about it? When was the last time you fell in love and ended up destroying it with poor habits? There are people who were given great opportunities in life: such as to start a business, to get married to a good person, to get a promotion at work, to inherit a legacy from parents that would set them off to a good success. However, they destroyed it without the help of any other person. Today Nhlanhla and Rebecca Phala discuses how the person we see inside us can destroy everything we have.
