I. How much will God protect/help me? A. One request: Slay the wicked (v. 19) B. Two characteristics that identify God's enemies 1. They are irreverent. 2. They use profanity. As David confronted the problem of evil in his day, he did five things: 1. He Evaluated. (v.22) 2. He Separated. (v. 19b) 3. He Grieved. (v. 21b) 4. He Hated. (v. 21-22) 5. He Trusted. (v. 19a) Romans 12:19 C. Final Request/Prayer David asks God to do four things: 1. Search me. (v. 23a) The Hebrew word for "search" means to "explore, dig, probe". 2. Try me. (v. 23b) "Try" means to "test metal in a furnace" 3. Reveal to me. (v. 24a) 4. Lead me. (v. 24b)
