Inbound marketing is nothing but driving traction towards products or services through content marketing, social media. This type of marketing actually draws in potential customers. This type of marketing can be done through your own media, website that is through blogs, YouTube, etc. This is not a short term strategy, but rather a long term. Its effect can be noticed only in the long run. The advantages of this type of marketing are that you drive in potential customers. You can reach potential customers organically.
Marketing is nothing but connecting the consumers to a product with information(of course not a formal definition). It actually boils down to promoting and selling products to consumers. It may include advertising, selling, and delivering products. It may be B2B, B2C,C2B,C2C etc. The process of marketing may include market research, market targeting, market segmentation, etc. Market segmentation is nothing but a process of dividing market which includes potential customers to segments. The segmentation may be done on the basis of characteristics, age, demography, consumer behavior, etc. All these companies need one or the other type of marketing. You cannot actually tell how many types of marketing we have. We have a lot of types. One such type is discussed in today's episode that is guerilla marketing. What is guerilla marketing? It's a type of marketing that includes a surprise/ unconventional way of communicating with the customers. It is actually a low cost in nature and can be used by small businesses to reach potential customers. It was coined by JAY CONRAD LEVINSON. This type of marketing can sometimes backfire too. This backfire can be noticed when turner broadcasting's cartoon show's ad backfired them when it created a bomb scare. (2007 Boston bomb scare). But, it can elevate the businesses too, especially during this era of technology it can be used to increase the reach. The coca-cola showed this is possible through their ads. Some of them went viral. One of them is that a vending machine placed in between college students( https://youtu.be/lqT_dPApj9U ).
The key performance indicators help to track the progress of a company or an organization. There will be certain targets that need to be achieved within a certain period of time. Here, the KPI's help to know the position of where they are and where they need to be, what are the mistakes that need to be corrected while moving. A good KPI will provide objective evidence, helps to make better decisions, helps to measure the performance of the company, and gives clarity. Some of the KPI's maybe, Sales KPI's include the average time required for a conversion, net sales. Financial's KPIs include growth in the revenue, net and gross profit margin, turnover, and many more terms related to financial stuff. Customer KPIs include customer retention, market share, etc. And Marketing KPIs may include traffic, articles published, conversion through inbound marketing, etc. KPIs play an important role in the growth of a company as it keeps the track of progress.
Market capitalization also known as market cap is nothing but a method to estimate the company's value. This also determines the size of the company. Different types of market cap's are Large-cap, mid-cap, small-cap, and micro-cap. Market cap can be easily calculated by multiplying the current share price with outstanding shares. Outstanding shares are nothing but stock currently held by all its shareholders.
