The spreading of the story of Jesus, the Gospel, depends on the Holy Spirit working through the followers of Jesus.
Once you are a follower of Jesus your primary responsibility it to share the story of Jesus (who he is and what he did). This is according to Jesus.
Our sin may have a lasting and devastating impact on our family and everyone we love. In our sin, we make life messy.
If you give into temptation and sin, then you’re going to hurt a lot of people. And you’re the one to blame.
At the end of your life only one thing will really matter. Did you trust Jesus with all that really mattered: Your Life? DID YOU BELIEVE.
At some point, to be a follower of Jesus one must confess that the resurrected Jesus is Lord and worship him as such.
Jesus didn’t appear to people just to convince them he was alive. His appearances, like his death and resurrection, had a purpose.
And we know that to them that love God all things work together for good, even to them that are called according to his purpose.
In a collision with a culture that attempts to undermine your relationship with Jesus, you need a forever faith in Jesus.
If you reject, compromise or change Jesus, for whatever reason, there is no other way or hope for your salvation. You can’t and won’t come to God.
Is Jesus the only One, or is there some other person, belief, philosophy, or combination that gets us to God?
How does a follower of Jesus honor God, grow in faith and reach people for Jesus in a collision with a culture hostile to Jesus?
What I want for you, to get out of this today, is an understanding of what generosity should look like in your life as a believer.

We don’t get to determine how to follow God. God does. So, do things His way. Obey God.
Historically, God chose certain people to reveal to us something about who He is and what He expects.
If you live or believe like a person in rebellion against God, then you are a person in rebellion against God.

We need to champion marriage and family because God created them and Jesus affirmed them.

Jesus came to provide an authentic way to God. In doing so, he broke away from all religious systems.
In all of human history, Jesus broke into the world at a special moment in time. And he made possible something special, a breakthrough in the struggle with sin.
The birth of Jesus guarantees the uniqueness of his nature, which is essential for our salvation.

To reach someone for Jesus you may first have to impact their life. Impact takes preparation. Prepare for impact.
The blind man represents on a physical level what we all are on a spiritual level… born blind.
Those who rebel against God and reject Jesus as Lord will face the eternal judgement of God. God is not ok with you rebelling against Him.
The way of rebellion, which is the way of the false teachers, is a way that is condemned by God.
As a follower of Jesus sometimes we are called into conflict against false teaching or false teachers to defend and explain the Christian Faith.
If you claim to be a follower of Jesus, you must live like a follower of Jesus. Your life is all about Jesus.
Jesus Christ is the only life-giving bread that can truly satisfy your greatest needs and desires.
We must do everything we can to bring the Cross of Christ, and all that it means, to the people we know, love, and encounter.
For the follower of Jesus everything comes back to the cross. You cannot separate the cross from Christianity.
At the cross, something was accomplished. It was achieved with success and finality. What was it?
At the heart of the cross, that is, the decision for Jesus to die on the cross, is God’s love for us.
For the follower of Jesus, everything ultimately comes back to the cross. Everything Jesus did was in preparation for it.
God is just. For life to make sense, we must know and believe that a holy and just God will one day set things right.
God is the Creator. For life to make sense I need to understand the power of the Creator and worship Him.
God reveals Himself to us. For life to make sense I need to understand the significance of that revelation.
When there is nowhere else to go and no one else to turn to, there is Jesus. In Jesus, there is always hope.
The culmination of our life is to encounter Jesus and believe in his death and resurrection.
All that really matters is that you trust Jesus with all that really matters: Your Life.
Avoid people and organizations who try to trick, manipulate, or guilt you into giving, even if they are Christian.
Honoring God is not about contributing something from your life to Him, but about committing your life to Him.
Our sin is disastrous for us and cruel to others. And, while we can repent of our sin, find forgiveness, and follow the Lord, we can never undo the damage of our sin.
It was not killing Goliath that made David a legend. It was his faith in a Lord he honored all his life.
There are some people who look, act, and talk like followers of Jesus. But, in reality, they are not.
If we love and serve like Jesus, people will see a connection between his authority and our authenticity.
On the cross, Jesus won. And when Jesus won, we won. Sin was defeated. All that was left was the resurrection.
The suffering of Jesus took all the sin, all the rebellion, all the rejection of the world against God and brought it right where God wanted it to be, on the cross.
At the cross Jesus paid for our sins. All it cost him was an eternity’s worth of separation from God.
Your understanding of the Image of God will shape, influence and determine your understanding of what it means to be human. It is that important. Image is Everything.

We can trust Jesus because he has an authenticity that no other person and no religion can legitimately claim.
The world in the time of Jesus needed Jesus. The world still needs Jesus. You need Jesus.
God’s relentlessly detailed plan for your life will always make your own plan look small and incomplete.
The peace that God gives is not subject to the circumstances of this life. It is a spiritual peace; it comes from knowing that all is well between us and God.
God delights in displaying his relentless grace and mercy to his people, for their good and His Glory.
At some point in your life, everything will turn upside down and you’ve got to remember that God is relentlessly working behind the scenes.
We want to encourage you to involve yourself with us in worship, service, and community.
Followers of Jesus are called to remember Jesus together by way of the Lord’s Supper or Communion.
If you get nothing else from this series get this; a believer in Christ, in dealing with a hostile culture, continues, through their faith, to follow Christ.
Facing a culture hostile to you as a believer in Christ gives you an opportunity to bring glory to God
Strange as it may seem to American Christians, Jesus and the New Testament writers expected believers to suffer for living as followers of Christ
In a culture that is hostile to followers of Christ, do this, follow how Jesus calls you to live.
Followers of Jesus may face hostility and harassment because of their faith. Peter tells us this type of suffering reveals the legitimacy of our faith.
How does a follower of Christ live in a culture that is increasingly hostile and unreceptive to Christianity?
What responsibilities and sacrifices are you willing to take upon yourself to guarantee a loving, peaceful and healthy marriage?
Embracing our culture’s values in rejection of God’s values will destroy marriages and families.
When you say “I do”, you are saying I love you and no one else will ever have my attention and affection in the same way as you.
God created us with a basic and essential need to share and spend our life with someone in the way He intends.
Christianity rises or falls on the resurrection of Jesus Christ. Your forgiveness of sin and your salvation rises or falls on your commitment to the resurrected Christ.
We are called and commissioned by Jesus to bring people to Jesus so they might become his followers.
If our worship, service, and commitment don’t completely glorify and honor God, God will completely reject our worship, service, and commitment no matter how much we claim to love, believe or follow Him.
