Summary: The Gospel of grace alone through faith alone in Christ alone must be LEFT alone. Only Jesus merited God’s favor. The rest of us must rely on God’s unmerited favor (GRACE) by relying on Jesus. Attempting to ‘help’ our standing with God through works of the Law is a form of LEGALISM, and it actually reduces our reliance on (FAITH IN) Jesus. On the other hand, saving grace is NOT ‘cheap grace’ that grants people LICENSE to live lawlessly (IDOLATRY & IMMORALITY).
