Genesis 34 is one of the darkest chapters in the Bible — a story with no hero, where one man's small compromise sets off a devastating chain of events. In this message we trace how compromise rarely looks like rebellion and usually looks like settling, why the cost is never paid by us alone, and how a chapter with no one to save the day points us to the One who can.

Can God use your brokenness to become your greatest blessing?

In this message from our Bad Blood series, Pastor Craig Smith walks through Genesis 32 and Jacob's unforgettable wrestling match with God. It's a story about fear, faith, surrender, and discovering that God doesn't always remove our struggles—sometimes He uses them to transform us.

Jacob spent his life fighting for blessings from other people. But after one night wrestling with God, everything changed. He received a new name, a new identity, and a deeper understanding that the greatest blessing isn't what God gives—it's God Himself.

If you're walking through disappointment, uncertainty, or a season that feels broken, this message offers hope that God may be doing more than you can see.

In this message, you'll discover:

  • Why fear isn't the opposite of faith
  • How to fight fear with God's promises
  • Why God redirected Jacob's strength instead of removing it
  • What it means to wrestle with God
  • How brokenness can become the pathway to blessing

No matter where you are today, God hasn't let go of you.

Sometimes the greatest blessing doesn't come from escaping a difficult situation—it comes from changing how you respond to it.

In this episode of Continuing the Conversation, Craig Smith and Colin McFarland dive deeper into one of the most unusual stories in Genesis and unpack the sermon, "The Fastest Road to Blessing." Craig shares what it was like preparing one of the hardest passages he's ever preached, why Bible translation often involves interpretation, and how a fresh understanding of Jacob and Laban completely changed the message.

Along the way, they explore practical questions we all wrestle with:

  • How do you become a blessing in difficult relationships?
  • When should you stay in a hard situation—and when is it time to leave?
  • Why do we keep fighting for control instead of trusting God's faithfulness?
  • How can wise community help us hear God's direction more clearly?

Whether you're navigating conflict at work, tension in your family, or simply trying to trust God with what's next, this conversation offers practical wisdom you can apply today.

Feeling overwhelmed? You're not alone—and you're not stuck.

In this message from our Overcoming Overwhelm series, we explore a powerful truth: it's not the size of your problems that's crushing you—it's the size of your perspective.

Through Isaiah 40, we're reminded that nothing compares to God. Not your stress. Not your fear. Not the weight you've been carrying. When life gets loud and heavy, it's easy to focus on what's right in front of you. But what if the answer isn't fixing your problems… but lifting your eyes?

This message will help you:

  • Reframe what's overwhelming you
  • Recognize what you've been leaning on instead of God
  • Take a practical step to bring God back into focus

You don't need smaller problems. You need a bigger view of God.

Feeling overwhelmed? You're not alone.

But what if the real issue isn't what you're facing… it's how you're seeing it?

In this powerful message from Isaiah 40, we're reminded of four life-changing truths:

  • God is bigger than anything you'll ever face
  • God is wiser than anything you don't understand
  • God is stronger than anything working against you
  • God is worthy of your trust—even when life feels heavy

If you've ever asked: "Does God see what I'm going through?" "Does He care?" "Can He actually do anything about it?"

This message is for you.

Because what you focus on shapes what grows—and when you fix your eyes on God, everything else starts to fall into place.

👉 Take your next step: stop carrying what was never yours to hold—and trust the God who can.

Are you overwhelmed… or just under-supported?

In this powerful message from Isaiah 40, Craig Smith challenges a common assumption: that our stress comes from everything happening around us. But what if the real issue is what we're standing on?

If you've been trying to push through life on your own strength—or placing your trust in people, success, security, or "shiny things" that don't last—this message will help you see why that approach keeps falling apart.

You'll discover:

  • Why overwhelm isn't about your circumstances
  • The hidden danger of "shiny things" that promise peace but don't deliver
  • How your focus shapes your faith (and your future)
  • What it looks like to transfer your trust to something that won't fail

God doesn't want you stuck in survival mode. He offers a foundation that can actually hold you—no matter what life throws your way.

👉 Take your next step and discover what it means to stand on something solid.

Feeling overwhelmed? You're not alone—and you're not stuck.

In this episode of Continuing the Conversation, Craig and Colin unpack the real reason so many of us feel overwhelmed… and why the first step out isn't doing more—it's seeing differently.

Building on this week's message, they explore what the Bible really means by "wilderness" (hint: it's not a peaceful mountain hike), and how seasons that feel empty or frustrating might actually be shaping something deeper in you.

You'll discover:

  • Why "wilderness" in the Bible feels so overwhelming—and what that means for you
  • The difference between a gap mindset and a gain mindset
  • How to find growth even when nothing seems to be changing
  • Why you might not be as stuck as you think

If you've been feeling stretched, stuck, or just tired… this conversation will help you take a breath—and take your next step.

What if you could say all the right things about Jesus… and still completely miss Him?

The sermon may be over… but the conversation isn't. This week on Continuing the Conversation, Craig and Colin unpack one of the most uncomfortable questions Jesus asks:

"Do you want to get well?"

It sounds obvious—of course we do. But as they dig deeper into John 5, they explore a surprising truth: sometimes the things we want freedom from are also the things we've built our lives around.

In this episode, they talk through:

  • Why we turn "it's complicated" into "I can't"
  • How our struggles can quietly become systems that keep us stuck
  • The subtle ways we blame others instead of taking ownership
  • What it actually looks like to step toward healing in real life

You've probably prayed for God to fix something in your life. A habit. A relationship. A wound. A pattern you can't seem to break.

But what if Jesus asked you a surprising question first?

In John 5, Jesus meets a man who has been stuck in the same condition for 38 years. Instead of immediately healing him, Jesus asks something unexpected:

"Do you want to get well?"

It sounds like an obvious question… until you realize something deeper. Sometimes the thing that's hurting us has also become the system we rely on. Sometimes our weakness becomes the way we get sympathy, avoid responsibility, or stay comfortable.

In this message from the Answer Honestly series, Pastor Craig Smith explores how:

  • Your issue may not actually be your real issue
  • "It's complicated" is different than "I can't"
  • The systems we build can keep us stuck
  • Jesus wants to free us from more than just symptoms

If you've ever felt trapped by patterns, pain, or circumstances, this message will challenge you to answer one honest question:

Do you really want to get well?

What would you say if Jesus looked you in the eye and said, "What do you want me to do for you?" In this week's episode, Craig and Colin unpack one of the most disarming questions Jesus ever asked — and why the answer matters more than you might think.

We're kicking off the Answer Honestly sermon series, and this first episode dives into the blind man Bartimaeus, whose bold, unfiltered ask to Jesus is a masterclass in honest prayer. Craig and Colin explore why Jesus asks questions He already knows the answer to, what gets in the way of us being that honest with God, and how to hear His voice clearly when life feels loud and crowded.

Plus: Craig goes deep on a fascinating biblical rabbit hole — why the Gospel of Mark doesn't include a resurrection account, and what that might actually tell us about the heart of the gospel message.

What if the breakthrough you're waiting for is on the other side of obedience?

In this message, we explore the story of Blind Bartimaeus in Mark 10 and the surprising question Jesus asks: "What do you want me to do for you?"

At first glance, the answer seems obvious. But Jesus isn't just interested in the man's condition—He's inviting him into something deeper.

In this message, we talk about:

  • Why your condition doesn't get to define your identity,
  • How focusing on what you can't do keeps you stuck,
  • Why Jesus sometimes calls us before He cures us,
  • What it looks like to answer God's call even when it feels awkward.

Many of us are waiting for the fear to go away, the doubts to disappear, or the circumstances to change.

But what if the cure is on the other side of the call?

If you feel stuck behind a wall in your life—this message is an invitation to take your next step toward Jesus.

Sometimes following God starts with an idea that sounds… a little crazy.

In this episode of Continuing the Conversation, Craig and Colin sit down with Dennis Ferrigno to talk about the unexpected story behind the Ark of the Covenant "rendition" used in the Power and Presence sermon series.

  • It started with a quiet moment in prayer.
  • A simple prompting.
  • And one question: What if God is actually asking me to do this?

Dennis shares how that moment of obedience turned into something far bigger than he expected—bringing together artists, craftsmen, and even unexpected challenges along the way. Through it all, one theme kept showing up: when we step out in faith, God does the rest.

This conversation explores:

• What obedience really looks like in everyday life • How God's presence still moves through ordinary people • Why small acts of faith can lead to bigger stories than we imagine

If you've ever wondered whether God might be nudging you toward something—this episode is for you.

Why do things sometimes fall apart even when our intentions are good?

In this week's message from 2 Samuel 6, we explore one of the most sobering moments in Scripture. David sets out to bring the Ark of the Covenant back to Jerusalem. The worship is loud. The celebration is intense. The passion is real.

But underneath the celebration are small compromises.

The wrong people. The wrong method. Good intentions that ignored God's instructions.

And the result is devastating.

This message challenges us to wrestle with some hard but necessary questions:

  • Are we choosing convenience over obedience?
  • Are we substituting intensity for integrity?
  • Are we trying to protect God instead of simply obeying Him?
  • Are small compromises creating bigger damage than we realize?

The good news? God's heart has not changed. He still wants to bless us with His presence.

But we have to prepare for it.

If life feels off, distant, or spiritually stuck, this message is an invitation to reset and realign.

What happens when people try to control God instead of honoring Him?

In this powerful message from 1 Samuel 5, we watch what happens after the Ark of the Covenant is captured and placed in the temple of Dagon. The Philistines assume their god has defeated the God of Israel.

But by morning, their idol is face down. And the next morning? It's shattered. This message reminds us that:

  • God will not share His glory.
  • Idols eventually fall.
  • Pain can be a wake-up call.
  • The power isn't in objects, rituals, or strategies. The power is in the presence of God.

If you've been tempted to prop something else up in God's place—career, relationships, comfort, control—this message will challenge and encourage you.

God is loving. God is holy. And He refuses to be treated lightly.

Take your next step. Press play.

Have you ever asked God to bless something you never asked Him about in the first place?

This week on Continuing the Conversation, we go deeper into 1 Samuel 4 and wrestle with a hard but honest question: Is God truly leading our decisions—or are we bringing Him in after we've already decided what we want?

Israel went into battle without seeking God. When they lost, they tried to fix it by bringing the Ark of the Covenant—treating God's presence like a lucky charm instead of a holy reality. The result was devastating.

Craig and Colin unpack:

  • Why God doesn't bless plans we never surrendered to Him
  • The difference between inviting God to lead and using Him as backup
  • How our preferences can quietly outweigh God's commands
  • What it actually means to give God "weight" in our lives

If you've felt spiritually stuck, defeated, or distant from God, this conversation will challenge and encourage you.

Don't just listen—take the next step. Let's keep continuing the conversation.

Motherhood is messy. And it’s not just dirty diapers or cleaning out the sports bags and nasty lunch boxes.

It’s the middle of the night prayers for your kids (even when they are adults). It’s going back and apologizing when you’ve lost your temper. It’s learning how God made your kids uniquely and how to parent each of them differently. It’s learning how to surrender them to God, from the first day of preschool to dropping them off at college. It’s celebrating their successes and letting them experience the consequences of their poor choices. It’s navigating new technology, cultural influences, and life challenges by relying on God’s grace.

Motherhood is the hundred tiny ways that you model the gospel, day in and day out.

And while motherhood is messy, this Mother’s Day we pray God shows you the meaning in the midst of the mess.

This weekend Craig wrapped up our current message series. So far, we've covered the Trinity, the separation of sin, and the gift of Jesus as a way back to relationship with God, and how the gospel is personal. This weekend, we learned how we can trust that the Bible is reliable.

As moms, we’re surrounded by messages like “You’ve got this” and “You can do it all if you just [fill in the blank].” For many of us, this translates into trying to be everything for everyone around us, which leaves us feeling defeated and flat out exhausted. But what if motherhood wasn’t designed for that? What if you can’t do it all, and that’s actually the point? In this special Mother’s Day service we’ll learn it is in the surrender of our weaknesses that we can experience the joy and freedom that God provides.

View Details

So far, we've covered the Trinity, the separation of sin, and the gift of Jesus as a way back to relationship with God. This week, things get personal. Craig shares that God doesn’t just love the world, generically, He loves each of us individually. The Gospel is personal and it's a difference of believing facts and believing in, or having faith, in Jesus.

View Details

Over the last two weeks, we have talked about the Trinity and how devastating our sin is to God. This weekend, we are excited to share the Good News that God makes a way for us! We have to get both our heads and our hearts right for God, and we need to turn toward Jesus to leave our sins behind.

View Details

God hates sin because He loves us! When you sin, it creates a barrier between you and God. Not only that, but the message from sinning is that God is dead to you. When you turn from sin, God is faithful and welcomes us back to restore the relationship. Is sin keeping you from experiencing grace?

Between the peace of the Garden of Eden and the promise of the Garden of the Redeemed, we live with the pain of our separation from God. And yet, even here, in the midst of your disappointments, your hurts and your sorrows, the resurrection of Jesus can give you abundant life between the gardens.

God doesn't need perfect people, but what happens when we have elements in our lives that go unchecked? When everyone but you knows it's a problem? It's easy to see something, become enamored with it and let it lead us to sinning. How to move your marriage from wherever it is – good but could be better, or struggling and in need of improvement – further down the road towards what God wants it to be. Craig and Coletta Smith will share some important lessons they've learned along the way in almost 30 years of marriage.

A great marriage not only gives life to each person, but has the power to impact families, neighborhoods, churches, and communities. This weekend, Craig kicked off this two-week series to see why marriage matters and how to build a marriage you’ll love.

What if heaviness in dark times, and seeming silence from God, is the precise way we can see the reality of Christmas? Jesus stepped into the darkness after 400 years of silence from God; how did believers keep their faith over all that time? When life feels most dark, the promises of God are the promises that we can cling to to carry us out of our hardest seasons and bring us into His light.

As we approach the Christmas season, we need to remember that our expectations frame our experience. Those expectations are driven by the heart, and they are powerful. Unmet expectations can cause bitterness, doubt and a misplacement of trust. Times like this are a perfect time to reflect on what Jesus has done previously so that we can reorient on where our focus should be and where our hopes can be for the future.

The time period between the Old Testament and the New was called the "silent years" because the Jewish people were waiting to hear from God. Then we see in Isaiah when Jesus speaks to the people that JESUS is the end of silence and because of his coming, the celebrating can begin. Jesus is God with us. It is easy to assume that when God appears silent, he is inactive, but really, God may be preparing more than you could ever imagine.

Our attempts to control others comes from trying to fill needs that are unmet. Unfortunately, what we try to gain by controlling others often comes only by trusting God.

Everyone has questions about suffering and why it is all around us. We know that even as believers in Christ we will still experience pain in this life. But our Christian hope is that we are now placed in Christ for eternity and we look to the future glory to come. We wait for that glory, making our way there through patience and prayer, knowing that to experience resurrection, you must first experience a death. We wait for that time with eager anticipation.

As followers of Christ you are no longer a slave to sin. Of course sin remains an option, but it isn't an obligation. Through the power of the Holy Spirit with your faith in God, you can escape acting out of fear and instead operate within the freedom of God's affection for you. You are a child of God who not only loves you, but who likes you.

As humans, we are led by our longings. Often those longings can lead us to sin, instead of to a life lead by the Spirit. Thankfully, every follower of Jesus has access to the Holy Spirit by faith. The same God who raised Jesus from the dead has brought you to life, even out of things or places you may think are dead. The more we tune into the Holy Spirit, the more we can experience the life that's ours by God's grace.

We kick off the new year with a series on Romans 8. It has been called the most important chapter of the entire Bible by some because it is almost a summary of the heart of the Christian faith and instructs on how to take hold of everything that following Jesus has to offer. It begins with words that are a fresh wind to a weary soul.

Joy is a choice. If the angel commanded Mary to rejoice, then that means that joy is actually something that was under her control, no matter what her circumstances. That's good news for us because it means that joy is always an option, regardless of our circumstances.

Why is light so central in the Bible? It’s the first thing God says in Genesis – “Let there be light” – and at Christmas we celebrate the coming of Jesus, the light of the world. This week we’ll look into the importance of light, and the good news delivered to humble shepherds on the night Jesus was born.

We continue to lean in to our sermon series on rejoicing in spite of our circumstances. This week addresses our relationship with control. Everyone has areas where they are trying to control what they can't or shouldn't, which limits joy. But when you trust God's control, you can experience mega joy.

Waiting is never easy, but there are steps you can take as you wait for God's promises to come true. Join us as we cover keys to unlocking the joy to be found in the period of anticipation and to counteract the resignation.

Now that Thanksgiving is over, how do we stay thankful moving forward? Jesus doesn't ever demand gratitude; however, expressing thankfulness unlocks an opportunity for us to be in relationship with God. We must move from just having grateful hearts to employing grateful habits which lead to appreciation that shows itself through actions.

When Jesus enters your life you are changed and challenged to devote yourself to that which is good. You should not be a distraction to the mission of the church; instead coming alongside your leaders as they guide the church body in the mission of God, teaching you and others how to eagerly do what is profitable for everyone.

We continue on with Paul's instructions with a look at how we respond to those in authority over us and why that matters. Why does it matter how we respond to authorities in our lives? Two reasons: first, because obeying the authorities allows you to stay focused on God’s mission. And second, because our attitude towards authority affects the way others respond to the Gospel.

As followers of Jesus, you are the clearest picture of him that others will ever see. You are encouraged to live so that others can see past you to who He is. You can enhance this process by being eager to do good for others.

Jesus longs for us to have a peace that passes understanding. This week's message wraps up our Chasing Peace series and examines the juxtaposition of what character traits God despises and those he would bless us through. We can gain peace by becoming more like Jesus.

In continuing pursuit of godly character and seemingly elusive peace, Craig relates how you can subscribe to biblical patience and trust in what God has done before to bring you a peace for today.

Continuing in our series on finding peace in spite of our circumstances, Reza speaks on what righteousness is; how God wants us to have a heart that seeks to be set apart, purified and restored through Him, leading to a peace we cannot achieve on our own.

Compassion is the act of suffering with someone, showing kindness even to those who do not deserve it. Peace then follows compassion by killing hostility. Join us for a retelling of how Jesus describes compassion in action.

Deception pushed peace out of the world and invited conflict in, but we can work to invite peace back in by creating a foundation of truth. Without truth, grace cannot be extended by God or other humans.

For most of us amidst the pandemic, or just because of how our life is going, we aren't feeling a lot of peace. But peace isn't a product of our current circumstances, it is a product of what (or who) we pursue. We begin a new sermon series with a focus on humility and its counterpart, pride. When we pursue character even in the middle of whatever trials we're facing, the focus shifts and suddenly peace becomes a real possibility.

All of us have moments where our circumstances seem insurmountable, but the act of having faith is being able to move forward as led by God, without knowing all the answers first. Instead, we need to trust that God is god who intervenes; he is who he says he is and he will do what he says he can do.

But God knew Abraham to be a believer and was able to use him for great things.
