Disney’s Animal Kingdom is a park filled with the wonder of the natural world, where it’s hard to distinguish between what’s real and what’s not.
The park is filled to the brim with exotic animals, thrilling attractions and delicious food.
If you’re planning a trip to Disney’s Animal Kingdom on your next vacation to Walt Disney World you’re going to want to listen up on these 13 tips on the park, including the best spots to eat, minimizing wait times on top-tier attractions, and where to meet Mickey and Minnie Mouse!
Before we get into the main Animal Kingdom tips, let’s go over how to conquer the Flight of Passage. Without a doubt, Flight of Passage is the hardest FastPass+ reservation to snag at Walt Disney World.
First, get to the park about an hour before the official park opening for the day. This will get you through security and at the front of the line to get into the park.
Once inside head straight for the stand-by line of Flight of Passage for a minimal wait. The second option is to wait until the very end of the night to get in line.
The stand-by line wait time will still show a long wait, but the line inside will tell a different story, and most of the time the actual wait is about 30 minutes!

Do you know where to start when getting your Universal Orlando packing list together?
I receive a lot of questions about what to bring to Universal Orlando Resort. Many theme park travelers want to know what basic Universal essentials are needed for a day at the parks and for the best vacation.
**Can I bring a backpack to Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure?
You absolutely can as long as you do not pack any prohibited items. To prevent any embarrassment at the security checkpoints, I’ve listed the items you are able to take with you inside of the Universal Orlando parks.
Please keep in mind that Universal is very strict on what it allows you to bring.
Acceptable items:
- Bottled water
- Small snacks that do not require heating
- Any food required for medical purposes and medically indicated nutritional supplements
- Food required for special dietary needs
- Baby food/baby formula
- Soft-sided insulated bags no larger than 8.5″ wide x 6″ high x 6″ deep
**How should I pack if I’m going to Universal with children?
If you’re not traveling alone to Universal, then you’ll need to think about the needs of your child or kid that is with you. You’ll want to have:
- A change of clothing
- Water
- Autograph book
- Cheaper souvenirs purchased before trip
- Snacks
- Hats
- Sunscreen
**Can you bring bags on rides at Universal Orlando?
On most thrill rides at Universal you are not allowed to bring your bag or any loose articles.
There are lockers provided for free for you in front of the rides that require you to place your items inside of them.
**Packing for a trip to Universal Orlando is not always an easy feat.
Whether you intend to be at Universal for a few days, you should be prepared not only for moody teenagers, but the Florida weather.
In order for you to do this, you need to step up your packing game.

If you haven’t been to the Walt Disney World Resort in a few years you’re probably wondering what are MagicBands and do I even need to use one?
Well, a MagicBand is basically a wristband that is your theme park ticket, credit card, room key, Magical Express Ticket, and PhotoPass all rolled into one.
We are now on our second version of MagicBands which now has a removable center puck.
This allows you to swap them between bands or add them to different accessories.

Is the Walt Disney Dining Plan confusing to you as it is with most Disney guests? Let me help you unpack and learn everything you need to know in order to conquer the Dining Plan!
Let’s first start by understanding what is the Disney Dining Plan:
The Disney Dining Plan is a prepaid meal plan for restaurants on the Walt Disney World Resort property. You can buy a pre-set amount of meals and snacks ahead of time for each traveling person, per night.
The amount of meals and snacks you receive in each plan depends on the type of plan you choose, and each type of meal or snack can be redeemed using a credit from your meal plan. It sounds like a lot, but meal plans can be very simple and a great money saver if you do things right.

Today we are going to step through time to experience a traditional afternoon tea, served in grand British style.
Join me and Lauren of OutDoorsyDiva.com within the walls of the Garden View Tea Room at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, as we indulge in the relaxing ambiance of an era long since passed.
Overall, the Afternoon Tea dining experience cost a little over $100 with tax and tip. Although this experience is unique for any of the central Florida theme parks, the price is still steep.
I enjoyed my time and am glad I got to knock this one off my Disney World bucket list.
The Garden View Tea Room is Located on the first floor of Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa takes place daily from noon until 4:00 p.m.
In addition, beginning at 3:00 p.m. each day, you can enjoy the atmosphere within the lobby as music begins to play—courtesy of the Grand Floridian Lobby Pianist.

Happy Autumn!
I am so glad to finally say that. This day has been on my mind since it ended last year. Fall has always been my favorite time of the year and although the seasons in Florida don’t change as drastically as other parts of America, I am grateful for what we do receive.
Things such as cooler temperatures, fewer people at the ThemeParks, and an escape to the true Florida outdoor life!
We come out of our summer hibernation in Florida and bask in the fall décor both autumn and spooky in nature as it kicks off the holiday season.
Our guest today is the owner of RideSoother.com. She has a strong love and passion for immersive theme parks rides; particularly at Disney and Universal.
As a child, Diamond was terrified of any fast-moving attraction. She wanted to first try a ride with one loop. She finally gave in panicking and crying, but rode Batman: The Ride at Six Flags Magic Mountain. She eventually ended up working at that same park.
She is the host of Diamond Hearts Theme Park radio show. She wants to continue to help others enjoy theme parks as much as she does especially fans who are afraid of rides or who may suffer from motion sickness!
She’s also one of my favorite people.

Question of the week: How to Socialize on Your Solo Theme Park Trip?
If being alone scares you, don’t worry.
Since I started traveling to theme parks solo, I’ve noticed that I’ve become more confident in introducing myself to new people. This gives me a chance to truly be myself, since I am in my “zone.”
You may notice when you’re with your friends you’re more involved in the conversation, but when you’re alone you’re pleasantly nudged to spark up a conversation with someone waiting in an attraction line with you.
It goes without saying that my solo trips to parks like Walt Disney World, Universal Orlando Resort, SeaWorld, and more are refreshing. However, there are moments when I want to reach out to others in the park, but the introvert inside of me has to push through my own self-limiting thoughts and strike up a conversation.
Throughout my solo theme park travels, I’ve found a few little tricks for learning how to socialize on a solo theme park trip.
And I want to show you how!

There aren’t many thrill rides here, but the rides at Epcot come with more of a purpose then what you will see in other Disney theme parks. The classic dark rides, the theatrical entertainment, and the seasonal events are great for a more mature audience.
This isn’t to say that kids won’t enjoy Epcot.
But a lot more adults truly love and enjoy it and I’m TOTALLY not being biased…
…well maybe I am.

On today's episode we're going to discuss theme park hopping alone... What?!? You’re probably thinking there’s a misprint on the title of this post. There are so many tips and tricks on the web about globetrotting alone, but hardly anything to guide someone interested in going to a theme park unaccompanied.
You guys know me as the ThemeParkHipster and many of my virtual tales are written based on my solo excursions. I personally travel alone because it is hard to find people who love theme parks as much as I do. I’ve learned that many individuals find this concept of traveling to parks such as the Magic Kingdom or Busch Gardens alone to be sort of taboo. Some wonder what others will think of them, but most don’t understand why anyone would want to do it.

Solo theme park hopping is sometimes compared with people who also enjoy a dining experience or who may go to a movie theater alone. Neither is common, but both appear weird and unusual to an outsider. I encourage you to look beyond the naysayers and try this life changing form of travel. The best thing about traveling solo is the limitless opportunities to do anything imaginable, within legal bounds of course.
