In this episode, we push back the narrative represented in a recent TikTok and through celebrities of not having children so you can have the life you always wanted. Children have always been a vital aspect of the redemption story of the bible as Jesus was spoken of as the Seed of the woman in Gen 3, Christians are described as the seed of Abraham, and Jesus is then described as the seed of David. Parenting is vital for kingdom building, and it's not just for parents. We talk about how single people and others in the church play vital roles in the lives of children. We challenge the church to examine their view of children and to start prioritizing them more in their budgets and with their time.

In this episode, we take a look at the type of masculinity that is portrayed through the online persona of Andrew Tate. We discuss how Andrew Tate is a complicated character in his views. We explain some views that are clearly unbiblical, such as stating it is not intelligent to apologize and flaunting your earthly treasures. But we also discuss some views that promote some good morals, like abstaining from pornography, respecting women, and having a warrior mentality, which is done through a pagan worldview.
We then compare those views to the Biblical model of men seen in David, the Apostle Paul, and, of course, the ultimate man, Jesus. We look at how we should pursue being a dangerous man in the way that we learn to think, write, and speak Biblically.

In this podcast, we dissect some of the themes presented in the Barbie movie that shed light on societal norms and the shifting roles within the family structure they perpetuate. We analyze the film's portrayal of the destruction of the nuclear family and the downplaying of motherhood as well as look at how they leave life's questions of dealing with one's death unanswered. We discuss how the Bible has the answer to all of these issues. We make the connection between sacrificial leadership, servanthood, and the ideals of Christ's relationship with the Church. We discuss the important role of women having different roles but being equal in value and allies to men, standing side by side with men in the battle against the forces of evil rather than being subservient or lesser than men. We discuss how men cannot function in the way God has commanded without women.
As we unravel the movie's agenda of atomizing the family, we address the subtle strategies to weaken the family unit and its implications for the local church. We discuss how we need to refuse to play the power game and fight over power dynamics and instead strengthen the bonds of the nuclear family as a force for good. Finally, we discuss how the Gospel answers the question of how we should look at and deal with our death and offers hope in eternal life.

When it comes to living a focused life, we find guidance in Hebrews 12:1 which tells us that there is a race set before us. A focused life involves three interconnected elements: a deep relationship with God, engaging in evangelism, and discipleship. By aligning ourselves with Christ as our source of action and embracing trials, we can run this race with endurance and purpose.

On this this episode we follow up our episode on George Floyd with some unhelpful responses to "racism". We use Racism as it is the commonly understood term but we are adamant that there is only one race that God made. On this episode we discus the recent death of George Floyd while in the custody of the Minneapolis police. Mr Floyd was put in a venerable and dangerous position on the ground that eventually lead to his death. This sparked outrage in a community already stressed by recent lockdowns due to COVID and past racial tensions leading to many riots as people cried out for Justice for Floyd. But where is the justice in burning down a community? Certainly the wrongful death of Floyd demands justice but what does it look like? Paul and Heyward discuss what true justice is and how the church needs to talk about racism and reach out to the community with the Gospel and show them the God of Justice.

This week we talk about the tragic killing of Ahmaud Arbery. While the trial has not happened and the motives are still unclear, we do speak to sin of vigilantism based on the words of the accused and the video that has surfaced. We also speak to those who would call themselves Christians and try to justify the actions of these men. While a motive of racism is difficult to determine at this point, we do talk about how this relates to the ongoing racial divide in the US and how the Church has the solution, and thus the responsibility, to speak to these matters. We talk about how the Gospel is the only true and final solution to these problems because "God is big enough for all of this."

While the enneagram is mostly seen as just another personality test it has roots in gnostic and occultish beliefs that other personality tests do not have. Then we address the Christmas trolls and discuss how when you reject the Biblical model of relationships between men and women both inside and outside of marriage and replace it with the "ethics" of the #MeToo movement, you end up stating that God is a sexual predator of Mary and raped her when He put Jesus in her womb. You want to know what Gospel victory looks like? Well this week we look at the statement of recently detained Chinese pastor Wang Yi entitled My Declaration of Faithful Disobedience recently published by chinapartnership.org . The world may see this as losing because he was arrested and possibly executed but the Bible shows that, when the church is no longer afraid of the government but rather the government is afraid of the Gospel message of the church, that is winning and that is what we are discussing.

There is no neutrality and therefore the world is trying to influence us with their messages and we need to be able to recognize those messages and be able to compare and refute them with the only source of truth and that is the Bible.
