We have all said it at some point in our life, "That would never happen to me." Well, it happened to a member of our Team, Wayne Williamson out of West Virginia. A Turkey Hunter's worst nightmare, getting shot while out hunting. We asked Wayne if he could share his story, not for Likes or Clout, but to help educate hunters and discuss how important safety is.
Wayne was shot by a trespasser while turkey hunting private land this spring. We will let him tell the story, but this one gave us goosebumps as it hits so close to home. It could have been any of us.
**Safety needs to always be top of mind while out hunting. If you ever need help or have questions on how to be safe, let us know. We are here to help. Cervicide is a hunting community that puts a huge focus on creating a place of unity, safety, education, and conservation.

The Hunter Sight was built for individuals that are striving to become better hunters, guides, or wildlife managers. We accomplish this by offering a versatile set of online tools for free with valuable upgrades offered at a low cost.
We offer ‘game trends’ which displays the patterns of your animals caught on trail camera. Simply organize your game photos and upload into your Hunter Sight account. The Hunter Sight will display in pie charts that animal’s frequencies at your camera based on wind direction, time of day, and moon phase. In this podcast Tony Weber joins me on the phone (sorry for the audio) and we recap how the the Spring Turkey Camp went down. Tony hosts a Turkey Camp at his families farm every year for Cervicide members where they have access to thousands of acres of public and private land in attempts to get on birds. I can't recommend this event enough for people that are on the fence about attending.

In this episode Brian rejoins me on the mic as well as Cervicide Field Staff Trevor Luth. Trevor is Medic in the Air National Guard as well as Certified EMT and Emergency Room Nurse in his hometown. We discuss and debate the things that should be and shouldn't be in your First Aid Kit when you are hunting. As hunters our main goal other than being successful in the Field is to make it back home to our families and one of the most overlooked pieces of Gear is your First Aid Kit.
