An introduction to why I have set up the BlackDog Club and what I hope it will become. A hub for others affected in any way by depression and signposts of more help, information and better understanding of this mental illness that affects 1 in 4 of the population. Including young children.

Ocean Waves possibly the most popular sound for relaxation. I once heard that the waves cycle at a frequency of 12 waves per minute, which is close to the humane bodies natural rhythm. Don't know if thats true, but works for me.

The combination of sounds of the ocean and imagery of sitting by the sea looking out across the waves helps slow the thoughts of most peoples minds. Also good for aiding sleep.

For me there is something special about the rhythmic tones of the Australian Didgeridoo. I think everyone has a resonant frequency and mine is in the lower registers which is possible why these appeal to me.
