Michele Timms brief bio: Michele is one of Australia’s best known and loved female elite #athletes. Playing for the Opals in 264 matches; including three Olympic Games, she is one of the game’s all-time greats.
Michelle appeared in four world championships between 1986 and 1998 and captained the #Opals to its first ever Olympic silver medal in 2000 #Olympic Games in Sydney.
She was the first Australian basketballer to play professionally in Europe and played in the inaugural WNBA season with the Phoenix Mercury. Her number 7 WNBA singlet was retired in 2001 as a mark of respect.
In Australia Michelle was a cult figure for women’s basketball and won five #WNBL Titles, playing in 285 games. Michele's achievements include:
First Australian female basketballer to play in Europe (Germany).
Played 264 matches for Australia.
Played 285 WNBL matches and won five Championships – 1986, 1987, 1988, 1989, 1992.
Represented Australia in four World Championships – 1986, 1990, 1994, 1998.
Represented Australia in three Olympics Games – 1988, 1996, 2000.
Basketball Australia Merit Award – 1991.
Two-time Basketball Australia International Player of the Year – 1994, 1996.
Played in the inaugural season of the WNBA for Phoenix Mercury – 1996.
Captained the Opals to their first Olympic silver medal in 2000.
Inducted into the Basketball Australia Hall of Fame in 2006.

Rising young football star Paige Zois joined Kaylee and Zoe for Primary Perspectives debut 'Women in #Sport Special' and the team spoke with #FEI #Equestrian, Hacia Atherton who has been #horse #riding since she was 6 years old and started competing at Pony Club by the age of 7! Hacia is now riding at international level and has her sights set on one day representing Australia at the world's top equestrian events such as the International Grand Prix.

Paige Zois joined Kaylee and Zoe for Primary Perspectives debut 'Women in Sport Special' - as both guest and guest host! At just 13 Paige has a packed sports CV that reads like an adult in terms of achievements, such as being picked to attend the Manchester City #Football Club Academy in the UK for a 1 week training camp as part of the U12 Northcote City FC boys team, where you were the only girl! JadeHameister - Jack, Jessica and Miani speak with Jade Hameister, one very determined and inspirational 14 year old who has just become the youngest person in history to ski to the North Pole from anywhere beyond the last degree, which is an extremely impressive feat! Jade climbed Mt Kosciuszko and completed her first triathlon season by the age of 6 - and by 12 years old she had conquered the Mt Everest Base Camp Trek! Now Jade has her sights set on being the youngest person to complete the Polar Hat Trick and National Geographic is following her journey closely,with the documentary ‘Jade’s Quest’ scheduled to premiere on the National Geographic Channel in August this year as part of a series of documentaries about extraordinary and inspirational women who are changing the world around them. SummerSimon - At just 14 years old Summer Simon is already a two-time Open Women’s champion at the Australian Indigenous surfing titles 2015 and 2016. Summer, who lives in Port Kembla in New South Wales, won her second consecutive title at the event at Bells beach, which ran from May 20 to 22 this year. Summer has been surfing since she was 7 years old and is now a student at the Illawarra Sports High School, where she gets extra support and training through her school. Besides her recent title, Summer also won the Wandiyali Indigenous titles Championship in 2015 and placed 3rd in 2016 and she is the 2015 Juraki Surf Titles Champion – all by the age of 14!
