The miracles in the Book of Acts are foundational to understanding how the Early Church grew and how God's power worked through the Apostles. In a world where skepticism is rising, the miracles remind us that God continues to intervene in believers' lives today. As believers in Christ, we are called to have faith in His power to intervene and to be a vessel through which His miraculous power can flow, leading others to Christ.

Grace, love, and all of the above. A Holy Spirit empowered group of believers is on the rise. Expanding the gospel to all the people of the earth. The growth of the church raises new questions which must be answered. Are there non-negotiables in Christ? What about the law? How do we co-exist with others in the church?

Often overlooked and not taken seriously, laziness is a sin that destroys the lazy and its surroundings. We are called to act, have higher standards, and by no means be idle Christians in our walk with the Lord.

Considered the wisest man to walk the earth, King Solomon was still flawed to his human sinful nature.

A man after God’s own heart. Join us as we explore how David went from boy to giant killer to King.
The people of Israel wanted to be like the others, pushing the true King aside and begging for a king of their own.
Choosing a king off of eminence, the Israelites soon found themselves once again in bondage from their own sin.
God grants them their desires but it only gets them so far as their new king becomes a blueprint for what the king of God’s people is not; putting God’s people in a position yet again, in need of a true King.
With Joshua passing away after leading the Israelites to the Promised Land, the people of Israel quickly bounded to rebellion without any leader.
God, faithful to restore and fulfill His promises, called certain individuals to stand strong in a land of lawlessness.
Through the example of the judge Gideon, we read how ultimately the judges were flawed and the people of Israel were still desperately in need of a Savior.
Joshua, having all the courage and strength before crossing the river Jordan, soon learns that victory sometimes comes after defeat.
What do we do when faced with defeat? We look at the leadership of Joshua to see how he responds to defeat and how he leads the people of Israel into the promise land.
Tens of thousands migrating through the desert being led by a Pillar of Cloud by day and a Pillar of Fire by night, Moses had to rely solely on God to help lead the Israelites.
With Moses being just a man used by God, as he grew old in age, the people of Israel soon found themselves needing a new leader to bring them to God’s Promised Land.
Since the fall of man, there is a longing for the one who will set things right. His name is Jesus.
Jesus is the picture of the greater Moses who is to come. So when Jesus came, He not only set us free but, became the atoning sacrifice on our behalf.
As for you, you meant evil against me, but God meant it for good, to bring it about that many people should be kept alive, as they are today.
Betrayed by his family. Sold into slavery. Accused of wrong. Wrongfully imprisoned.
How does Joseph overcome all these obstacles to save not just the people of Israel, but the world?
Then he said, “Your name shall no longer be called Jacob, but Israel, for you have striven with God and with men, and have prevailed.”
Seen across Abraham to Isaac to Jacob, God’s divine plan is being fulfilled through the acts of faithful men.
From his deception to Esau to his wrestling with God, the story of Jacob paints a story of forgiveness, redemption, and reflection to the overall story of Jesus.
From Ishmael to Isaac
From Hagar to Sarah
From a testing sacrifice to a sacrificial lamb.
For Abraham, his faith in God’s promise would be directly bound to his love for his son, Isaac. The story of Abraham and Isaac reveals that God’s blessing always prevails through those who are willing to carry a legacy of faith.
What will our legacy be?
The LORD said to Abram:
I will make of you a great nation.
The father of a multitude of nations.
To believe in God’s promise, Abram was forced to give up everything he once knew, in order to receive any miracle from God.

In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth…
Genesis 1:1
One of the most read, most debated, and most misunderstood passages. Answering the questions: who are we? Where do we come from? Why are we here? Whose story are we a part of? What’s the point of it all?
Every story has a beginning. Ours begins in Genesis with the creation of all things and the announcement that our story is HIStory.
For the tribe of Judah, the walls around their city meant more than just a structure around the city. For them, the walls brought security from outsiders. So when the walls were destroyed, the Hebrew people lost their fortitude. As we read in Nehemiah, man cannot re-build any wall and expect it to last. They knew they needed to go to the Lord. For us today, why do we need the same type of walls in our lives? When we remember Christ, and the atonement He paid for our sins, we remember that Jesus broke down every wall of hostility, so that we might have freedom. So that when we rise in victory, we are able to raise our banner and declare Jesus is Lord.
As one church, each individual member with their own unique role is essential to the one body. No part is more important than the other, as the church can only function in unity. But oftentimes, our sinful nature creates comparisons, and wrongfully places importance over certain positions. By placing our full focus on Jesus, will true unity be found, as we all use our gifts He's entrusted us for His glory.
For the children of Abraham, the promises of God was directly attached to their birthright. As seen between the brotherhood of Jacob and Esau, one of the brother prioritized their hunger for food over what God had in store. When we are faced to the deepest parts of our heart and desires, are we left with a hunger for God? When we bring our desires with urgency to God, that is when we will encounter Him.
What classifies someone as successful? Is it intelligence? Business relationships? A common characteristic that has been visibly proven within the majority of successful individuals is the ability to deal with adversities, problems, obstacle, pressures in their lives. For the Kingdom of God, can you be considered successful? In order to be effective for the Gospel of Jesus, passion and perseverance is required. In his letter to the Corinth church, Paul teaching in chapter 9 that for him, all he does is for the sake of the Gospel.
Through Christ's sacrifice on the cross, we are free in Jesus, but bought with a price. Freedom found through Christ provides power to act without hinderance or restraint. Yet, our freedom is not a freedom to sin. Rather, it is freedom from the yoke of sin. With Jesus interceding for our sins, we are not only saved from sin but given eternal life.
When you eat of this bread and drink of this cup, do it in remembrance of me. This commandment of Jesus is more than a simple symbol, it is a powerful statement. The elements of communion is a shared reminder of Christ’s suffering, death, resurrection, and of His second coming. As we eat of His flesh and drink of His cup, our intention is then to deeply remember who Jesus is and what only He did for us.
A Godly marriage is a direct reflection of what values the marriage is built upon. Yet, the time spent single before marriage is valuable in establishing a foundation. Whatever shame from freedom that hides in the dark created by the enemy, by bringing it to God's light, shame and anger finds healing in the light. The goals of marriage should be to seek the One as you prepare for the one, ‘we’ not me, and giving glory to God through marriage.
The city of Corinth is very similar to our culture today. A land filled of paganism, sinful desires, and selfish acts. In the same way, the church of Corinth struggles with things we still struggle with today. At the core, we all are born sinful humans. But the saving grace found in the Gospel brings us from our sinful nature into a new creation. In 1st Corinthians 5-6, we look at how we deal with our sinful past and look forwards to our holy future through Christ.
As Christians, we are all called by God. While all have a personal calling, all believers also share a same calling for the Kingdom. God has called all believers to witness and bring reconciliation through the Gospel. God has also called all to be humble and an example. If you want to be effectively used for God's Kingdom, it does not come only through talk, but from full authority of his power of the Holy Spirit.
In 1st Corinthians 3, there are two main questions that can be asked. How do we build the Kingdom? What does it mean that we are the temple of God? With Christ as the established foundation of our faith, the Gospel message brings unity and order to our lives. As our salvation being brought only by Christ alone, we are still called to have growth and sanctification in our personal lives through our character and content. For it is our personal character and content that will determine if we are true vessels and temples of the Holy Spirit.
Filled with their personal sins, the church of Corinth seemed to be influenced by the outside culture. Yet, as Paul continues to remind in his letter, the Corinth church was planted in that city for a divine reason. With the truth of the Gospel being the story and message of Jesus Christ, Paul retains that the Gospel Message is enough! At the same time, within the simple message of the Gospel, Paul begins to reference this "secret wisdom" of God, a wisdom found deep in the Kingdom of God.
We need to understand God's mercy. Mercy is defined as not receiving what we deserve. In result, the mercy of Christ imposes a power dynamic. If you forgive other you will also be forgiven, if you do not forgive, you also will not be forgiven.
No one is righteous not even one. Jesus is the only pure and righteous one, as He overcame all sin. Only through Christ are we a new, holy creation. Before Jesus, we are spiritually dead in our sin. After Jesus, sin no longer has any dominion over us. Yet, Jesus was not crucified, buried, and resurrected for us to keep on perpetually sinning just to have grace cover all. You have to kill the sin in your life or else it will kill you.
The law cannot save. The law can only provide direction of what it takes to live a life of perfect obedience. Yet, the law will never save because, Christ alone is our righteousness.
In one of the last letters scribed by Paul, he holds nothing back when writing to the church of Rome. Utilizing his letter to correct them, Paul divinely addresses the issues brought forth by a collection of Jews and Gentiles. In the book of Romans, Paul reminds us that whether Jew or Gentile, we are all sinners and in need of a Savior.
When in seasons of drought, we look to the mountains of life and become weary of what we are up against. Yet, our solutions will never be found in those mountains, but rather only through Christ. In Scripture, we are reminded and encouraged that certain seasons in life are meant for a divine reason. Rather than trying to place a limit on God, eliminate any power of the enemy by calling upon the Name of the Lord.
The clarity of our sinful nature and need of a Savior prompts us to respond in repentance and obedience. Often, practices which propel this desire comes from a life of prayer. Yet prior to Christ and His new covenant, we read how God required sacrifices as a means of cleansing. In the life of Abraham, we see that on Mount Moriah, bring his sacrifice to God meant bringing his everything.
For every mountain high, there is a low valley. Seen in the first chapters of Genesis, God sovereignly intervenes in Noah's life, warning him and his family of the incoming flood. When God wants to bring us to those mountain moments with him, we must realize there is a season of flooding too. But just as the Ark landed Noah onto Mount Ararat with the promise of the rainbow, so too does God fulfill His promises to us.
When left with the questions of now what, the truth is that we are not alone. A Gospel centered community will never fail you. Because, it is the outworking of His love seen in us as the way we love one another. We need to stir up one another in love and good works. Are you open, honest and vulnerable with each other?
In our worship, in our requests, in our prayers, we all seek and anticipate for global revival. Yet for God to move on a global scale, God must first work in you. Blessed to be joined by brother Mark Moldovan, we are reminded that if we are wanting to fan the flame of God's saving power around the world, we must first walk in obedience in our own lives.
Today, it is never more needed than for our personal relationship with the Father to be publicly apparent and alive. The good news of the Gospel is the testimony of Jesus Christ. Through Him, His testimony gives us the assurance of eternal life. It is through that confidence of faith, that we are to be propelled into overcoming the world.
If you know God, you know love. With God's Word as our guiding truth, His truth in 1 John leads us down the path of love. In the same way, if you do not know God, you do not know real love. True love requires sacrifice. You have to love your neighbors as yourself. No matter what will event from extending forth to those around us, we have confidence in our relationship with God, because we are fulfilling the will of the Father.
1 John 1 A true sign of a Christ follower is if they love their brother. Through our authentic love, the love Christ displayed for us is what we are to extend to others. Walking in the light means that we understand who God is, what His Word means, and what He wants from us.
From Jesus and the Apostles to the early Roman church and Luther, 600 years later, the Gospel story soon found itself on America’s soil. The Good News of the Gospel was needed in a newly founded land which did not have their definition from God. Through faithful men like Jonathan Edwards and George Whitefield, God brought revival through these familiar grounds, which is ever more needed for our culture today. Revival starts with you.
From the one person of Christ to His subsequent 12 disciples, the way of Jesus found itself in a position of power and notoriety. With the social and political influence that the church gradually imposed, the Catholic church no longer was mirrored to the original purpose placed by Jesus. What seemed to be sparked by one man in Martin Luther, was quickly blazed by men who were willing to stand for truth.
What started with 12 apostles, soon found itself hiding in result of direct persecution. With cultural leaders trying to hide the light of Christ, started off in a time or turmoil. Yet, in the same area, Christianity also found itself as the main religion in the Roman times. With a political emphasis the Gospel, the church quickly found itself splitting into different beliefs. Because of lack of order we have church splits and little church plants. Yet, the truth found only in Jesus thrived to save us today, centuries after The Dark Ages.
The birds in the air with no worries of when their next meal will come. And yet, how much more does God value us? When waking up, the anxieties of life continuously bombard us, attempting to take our eyes off Jesus. Our loving savior promises in His Word that He will care for us as He is the One who created us.
When the world asks who are you, how will you respond? If God knows who you are. Do you know? Oftentimes, we find ourselves identifying with characteristics in which we are not. Through Christ alone, we are a new creation and beloved children of His. You are free through the Son.
From the midst of Earth's dust, God breathed life, and created out of it, us in His image. Only God can take the broken humans that we are, to be embodiments of His grace.
In accordance with the church, 2021 is a year of spiritual revival. Seen all across the world, people go out to the ends of the earth to spread this gospel. Growing up in Portland within our church, Bryan Ciupei answered that call, planting himself in the mission field of Romania. Seen in his testimony, God worked a personal revival within Bryan, in order to prepare him for God's will. If we want to see a spiritual revival in the world around us, we must first experience one within ourselves first.
Our faith in Christ has made is into a new Creation. The free grace received in our lives transforms our depraved souls into a child of God. Yet, with a new identity comes a new calling.
Seen in Christ's parables in Matthew 25, Jesus makes a clear distinction between the one who utilizes the talents and oil given by God and the one who assumedly takes it for granted. For what we do with what God has given us for His Kingdom, can be used to proclaim the good news to the whole world.
The prophesied promises and law all point to Jesus. While visible to all see the birth of a child in a manger, Jesus' birth holds a mystery about God's Kingdom. It was prophesied that He would come, but it wasn’t in the way the Israelites expected.
Did you lose hope in this year?
When the enemy tells you you have nothing left, God wants to remind you that you still have a voice. Do not let the devil silence your voice or suffocate you. Open your mouth in praise and faith, for your voice has power. Just as Paul and Silas in prison, lift your voice and watch the presence of God respond.
When you contemplate about God's blessing, what comes to mind? In Psalm 145, David proclaims God's goodness and faithfulness to every living thing. God’s blessing will always be there for you. If you want God’s blessing in your life, you need to first, give Him thanks in all circumstances, live in His will, and pray without ceasing.
In a world full of temptations, deceptions, and distractions, it's easy to grow spiritually complacent. With complacency, comes a lethal risk of seduction to sin departing from Christ. The Word of God warns us to practice self-discipline and hold onto the truth of the Gospel. We do this by remaining humble before God in obedience and putting our confidence in Christ alone.
From the beginning of the Old Testament until this moment in Christ's ministry, all of Scripture pointed to the deity of Jesus. But is He is who they say He is? As Christ followers, we all have personally experience His grace everyday in our lives. Yet, far too many people in the world are still lost in the wild, searching after their own desires. In your wilderness, will you rediscover Jesus when face to face with Him?
Peter, the disciple of Jesus who firsthand saw Christ's ministry, rejected following Jesus at his weakest moment. Oftentimes, we see Peter in our actions, fall into the trap of dismissing Christ. Yet, just as Peter is to be like a rock for the church, so too can Jesus take us and spread His Kingdom. A command stands in the way, pick up your cross and follow Him.
All movements of faith in the Kingdom of God began with one thing: A Prayer.
As we close out our series on James, we see that James reminds believers that the lifestyle of the kingdom is marked with a posture of prayer, thanksgiving, and worship. As we live out our faith, the Holy Spirit will meet us and accompany us with power to accomplish God’s Kingdom purposes. And we see that power starts with prayer.
From the start of his letter, James writes about the development and growth of our faith. Through our actions, we are to show our love for God and to people. Yet within our faith and works, what fruit are we producing? Are we manifesting Godliness or worldliness?
A direct reflection into our hearts is seen through the words we speak. Yet James teaches us that, at its core, the tongue is wicked. Just as Jesus redeemed our souls through His saving grace, so also are the words of our heart reclaimed. In order to tame the tongue, an authentic change of heart is required. Only by the transformation of Jesus, can purified speech steer you from death onto life.
In every chapter, James calls the reader to live out their faith. To live a verbal, shallow faith is not what Christ died for. Jesus, on that cross, took up our sin, so that we all may live as one in Him, and to do works for others. To live out your faith is to actively love and serve.
Created in His image, we are all image bearers of our King, Jesus. The walls we build up around ourselves are the very thing Christ tore down on the cross. Only in Jesus, are we all one. In a world full of growing division & hostility towards one another, the church must be the beacon of hope displaying true unity and equality for all.
What factors influence your actions? Anger? Emotion? Strife? In James, we are called to be quiet and hear from others. But that requires intentional listening. We are called as Jesus followers to speak slowly, listen intently, act decisively by while loving Christ and loving people.
Everyday, all around us, 24/7, we see pain, sin, harm, injustice, violence, and damage in this world. Yet, in the midst of suffering, there is joy. As Jesus followers we find joy because suffering produces perseverance; perseverance produces character; and character produces hope. Our hope can never be taken away and never fails. Our hope is to be eternally with the one who died for us, Jesus.
Upon hearing the good news of the Gospel with repentance, God takes you from a life in darkness into His Kingdom of light. To be called by God requires us to be imitators of Him. As imitators of Christ, it may look foolish to society, but it produces authentic discernment to shine through the darkness.
When Biblical wisdom is applied to our lives, what does it look like? Jesus Christ is the perfect example of Biblical wisdom in human form. The character of Christ reveals that a true fear of the LORD results in complete trust in Him. We are thankful for brother Narcis Popovici for taking the time to teach us on how Jesus is our example of Christian character. We are continuing to pray for him and his family, as they spread the Gospel in the Middle East.
When describing generosity, it often finds itself in the same category as wealth and philanthropy. However, generosity is more than just money and prosperity. Generosity is an extension of Godly love to people. Rather than focusing on earthly riches, Biblical generosity focuses on God's Kingdom.
On the third day after His death, the tomb was found empty. Jesus, the resurrected King, fulfilled all prophecies displaying that His Gospel is the true good news. Yet prior to Christ's ascension, He commanded us all with the same mission: go out and spread this Gospel. Whether you are in your home or overseas, the Gospel message remains the same. We all have sinned, and are in need of a Savior.
As followers of Jesus, we all are seeking after God's divine Wisdom. In today's current health crisis, more of God's wisdom is needed everyday. Yet, man's natural inclination is one of self determination and of fear. In order to know God's direct wisdom, all of our trust and anxieties must be placed on Him.
Everyday, words flow out of our mouths. It is your very own words that reflect your character. Even more so, your words will impact your surroundings. Do your words tear down like the fool, or build up like the wise?
Even in the presence of what seems like defeat, God has it all in His hand. No enemy, danger, threat, or virus can interfere God's control. Although this current global health pandemic may evoke fear and cause social distancing, God is always by our side. Faith over fear, worship over worry, and prayer over panic.
What is your identification to Jesus? _________________ Your friends dictate your principles. Friendships are treasures, which should lead you to the prize which is Jesus. What does your current friendships say about your life? What foundation are you building with your friends?
Where does wisdom come from? _________________ From a fear of the Lord. When God came to King Solomon stating he could have anything he desires, Solomon knew of the invaluable riches that comes from wisdom. Divine wisdom is far greater than simply intellectual knowledge. But what is a fear of the Lord? How does it look like?
What are you waiting for?
Are you ready to go out and proclaim the gospel? You’re never ready. What matters, is in whose Name and authority you are going in. God will give you the right words to say. How can you do this? Draw near to God, cleanse your hands and purify your hearts. Talk to God. He can only speak to you when you are silent and free from distractions Are you “too busy” for God?
What is substance? It is a tangible matter or presence; the essential part or meaning of something. Our Christian life has to be full of substance. He wants to use you no matter how small or insignificant you think you are. Through you He can do great things. Expect good things from God.
What makes you unique and special? Your faith in God.
Christianity is a life of faith in the Promises of God. The Bible states promises of salvation, personal peace, Holy Spirit guidance, and eternal life. Even if they take time to fulfill, doesn’t mean they won’t. What He speaks will come to pass.
Back in December, we were honored to hear the testimony of brother Anthony Burla from Florida. Anthony was involved in a motorcycle crash back in February 2018, that left him with a broken skull, nerve damage, and in a coma for a month. But even if the doctors gave up hope, we know God is still at work today. We pray that God continues to work and bless brother Anthony, and for his testimony to encourage us to continue seeking after God’s work.
Behold, the Prince of peace is born. His peace transcends all of our worries and problems. He is right here trying to give you what you need, just ask Him. He wants to offer you everything. Where do you turn to for your peace? It had to happen. He came to make a way and bring salvation to the world.
Immanuel: God with us Even in your struggles, He fulfills His promises. Stop being blinded by your doubts and disappointments, look at the fulfillment of God's promises as seen in the birth of Jesus. For unto us a child is born, unto us a Son is given... He was sent down from heaven for us. Just because it might take a while, it doesn’t mean it won’t happen. Don’t let the failed expectations you had from anyone or anything lower the expectations you for God to work in your life.
Do you know of God or do you know God Himself? What does God want? He wants to have a relationship with His creation, but we have all turned away from Him. His Kingdom is not of this world and is always growing. It will reign in an unshakable manner that no power of hell can destroy God's everlasting Kingdom. Yet the God who reigns over Heaven and Earth, is the same God who is after you. He wants you to be unshakable for His Kingdom.
A personal testimony shared from our own sister Beatrice Cinpean. She shares how fear tried to take her life. But God was relentless after her and wants to continue His Kingdom here on earth today.
“The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few." A harvest is Gods provision and blessing over His people. He calls us to work in His fields and His kingdom. There is a lot of work to do and not enough laborers. What work is required? We always ask what is our calling. But Christ gave us all one command: To go into all the world and spread the Gospel.
"For whoever has will be given more, and they will have an abundance." "Whoever does not have, even what they have will be taken from them." What are you doing with what you are given? Young people regret doing things and old people regret not doing things. How have you invested into the Kingdom? What is your ministry? We are called to be laborers with Christ.Talents are designed to be shared and spent. He shows us mercy therefore we have to as well. Live out as Christ did and don’t invest into riches here but in the kingdom.
"Go; let it be done for you as you have believed.” There is power in faith. Faith is the main component of being in the Kingdom of God. You acquire faith by hearing; and hearing by the Word of God. With faith the size of a mustard seed, we can move mountains. Just go to Him for and with everything and He will deliver big results.
"When he found one of great value, he went away and sold everything he had and bought it." Jesus was born into our world that we might be born into His kingdom. Nothing in this world compares to the kingdom of heaven. The values of the kingdom should be our lifestyle. The message of the kingdom should be our primary message. The right believing works lead us to right living. Do you value what Jesus values?
Your words have power. Are you going to speak life or death. Thank God for the blessing and gifts He gives you each day. Cultivate joy. Don’t be resentful or bitter towards God if things don’t go your way or according to your time or plans. Don’t hide or try to cover your mistakes/sins but have courage to ask for forgiveness, and own your part. Don’t speak negative think over yourself. Let Him be in control and don’t try to work salvation by your own hand.
"So then you are no longer strangers and aliens." "But you are fellow citizens with the saints and members of the household of God." In a world of darkness, we are called by Jesus to be a light. Jesus lived the life we never could so that we can be citizens of heaven. Your righteousness is exclusively by faith. Leave your burdens behind and just live your new identity He has prepared for you as citizens and saints of the Kingdom.
"Do not be anxious about anything" "But in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your prayers be made known to God." Anxiety is not a new discovery. People have been struggling with it since the beginning of history. Yet anxiety exists behind God's peace. Pray and seek God first, don’t worry first. Don’t let prayer be your last resort to a problem, but make it your first response.
“You are the salt of the earth" “You are the light of the world" We are called to be the flavor and truth of God's Kingdom. If we lose our saltiness we are useless for the kingdom. Salt brings out flavor and taste, but also makes you really thirsty. We are supposed to make people thirst for the living water. After all this they should see something different in us, and that is our light. Let your light shine before men.
“In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth” The kingdom of God is at hand. We are His kingdom; the space where heaven and earth overlap. It’s all under His authority, rule and reign. Because of Jesus’s sacrifice, He did not die just for you to live in a cycle. He died so His kingdom of Heaven can invade Earth. Christ’s Kingdom is wherever we are. In His Kingdom, forgiveness, healing, and power reign forever.
Boldness _____ We are commanded directly from Christ to witness to all nations. We have to take action and take risks. You don’t have to have all the answers, all you have to do is try. You don’t have to go out and witness alone; Jesus always sent the disciples out two by two, so they could help each other. Rely on the Holy Spirit and ask Him to speak through you and for you so we can show the world who Jesus is.
The Holy Spirit _____ We have to walk through, by, and with the Holy Spirit. As believers, we are the sanctuary of the Holy Spirit here on earth. Without the Holy Spirit, all our efforts are in vain. Deny yourself and abide in the Spirit. Our parents had a legacy of oppression and affliction but held fast; this should strengthen us. They gave their everything to God leaving us a legacy to follow.
Faith _____ The substance of the things we hope for; the evidence of the things we cannot see. Faith is the foundation of the Christian journey. One step of faith can change your life. Our faith will lead us into eternity. Faith without works is dead, just as works without faith is. We need to stop saying that we will believe it when we see it, but trust that we will see it when we believe it.
Prayer _____ Prayer is to address God with all adoration, confession, supplication, and thanksgiving. Prayer is our direct line of contact with Jesus. Don’t be afraid to rely on or cry out to God. He is alive and active, and He hears your prayers.
We all face different types of giants in our lives. Whether it is fear, worry, depression, opposition, or rejection, the biggest giant behind them all is yourself. So deny yourself. Put God first. Let Him be the one fighting for you. Allow Him to slay your giants.
David had deep devotion for the Lord. Devotion is our expression and character to our relationship with God. The Word calls us to pray and even tells us what to pray for. So how do you communicate with God? God wants to be face to face with you; not see you go from face to face. He doesn’t want fancy fabricated formality. He only desires you to be honest and transparent.
He is always listening, just come face to face with God.
David’s heart of repentance is what earned him the title "A Man After God’s Own Heart." Our response to sin matters. Don’t try to cover up the mess. Step towards Jesus and away from sin. Give Him full control over your life; then you won’t be in the wrong places in the wrong time, and learn from a man like David.
Alive To Live:You are made alive to live a life by the power of the Holy Spirit.
You cannot fake a godly character. Where do you need the Spirits help?
Listen to the Spirits conviction, because it will lead to victory. Know what you are doing and where you’re going.
You need to get your eyes off of yourself, your problems, and turn your eyes upon Jesus. We all have issues. But just because you’re down, doesn’t mean you’re out. From start to finish, grace will take you through.
The resurrection anchors everything. If we don't have the resurrection, we have nothing. Christ rose from the dead so that you can be raised from the death of your sins. The power of the resurrection is not only in itself, but in the testimonies of those to which Jesus revealed Himself to. If you have a testimony, you have your own resurrection.
The God we serve is the same yesterday, today and forever. God always makes a way, even when there seems to be no way. In world full of sin and hate, He brought love and salvation. In a world of lies, He brought truth.
Jesus always chose to serve others. Serving is not easy. It requires humility, time, effort, money, and your talents. But serving equals sacrifice. And God does not want a copy, He wants you; your sacrifice. Nobody else can be who God has called you to be even if it requires everything.
Just because you can’t see God, that doesn’t mean He doesn’t see you. Tune out what you see, and listen. Walk in faith, not by sight; Faith without actions equals nothing, so try playing it by ear.
Revival Something we all crave to see come to existence. But it is more than just an event. It begins with an inner transformation. Personal revival leads to public revival. Be the one to make a change.
The Cross. The most polarizing image on earth. But it is more than just a symbol. In a moment of faith you can go from being spiritually out of shape to being cross-fit. When Jesus said it is finished, He really meant it. In the end, because of Him we have a new identity.
In the beginning... None of His words ever return void. Jesus has existed since the beginning and spoke everything into existence.. including you. You are not the center of your life, He is. We are not important, yet Jesus found us important enough to die for. Even before sin entered the world, He was willing to leave heaven and sacrifice Himself because He loves you and wants you.
Love others just as Christ loves the church.
A fundamental relationship is built fully on the foundation of Jesus Christ. There are no “couple goals” or “relationship goals” on this earth that we should follow. The only good and perfect model for us to follow is that of Jesus’s love for His church.
Ask the question, who defines you? Is it God? Is it success? Is it money? As Christians, we are defined as God's children - Christ completed you. He loves you and no one can separate you from His love. Don’t forget God in times of blessings or in time of trouble. Sometimes it takes breaking to get to the blessing, and it takes conflict understand your calling. Don’t look for others approval, just make sure you has His approval. And that makes you special.
Even though the cross is one of the most recognizable symbols in the world, people are oblivious to its meaning. The cross is not simply a symbol or a fashion statement, it is an announcement from eternity that our God wants to have a direct relationship with humanity.
When Jesus said, “It is finished,” He meant it.On our behalf, Jesus defeated the power of sin, shame, self and satan upon that cross.
The sign of God is right in front of us - a baby in a manger. The message of Christmas is first and foremost that God is always with you. Jesus was born in a broken-down barn, surrounded by animals, into a manger used as a feeding trough. He knows exactly what it means to be human. Even when you think He is absent, He is present. Christmas is about Jesus Christ and the sign in right in front of us.
In Scripture, we see this beautiful promise: “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.” (Romans 10:13) However, the writer continues in verse 14 saying, “How can they hear about him unless someone tells them?”
Christianity is not just about resting & receiving from God, but it’s also about going & doing for God. In fact, faith that is not put into action is powerless & meaningless.
i believe THEREFORE i speak
As Christians, we are too comfortable. While we stay in our closed, comfortable routines, all around us are people who don't follow Jesus. We cannot afford to live our lives having Christ, and watch the people around us pass without knowing Christ. We have to do whatever we can to reach them. Our mission as a church and as a child of God, is too go out and preach the Gospel.The heart of Jesus loved humanity so such that He dies for all to have the gift of salvation. Jesus' mission is our mission.
When we partake in the Sacraments, we are commemorating and remembering Christ's body and blood that was sacrificed and shed on the cross for us. These acts are more than a tradition. They are a way to symbolize the power found only in Jesus. These ordinances reveal and remind us of the saving power that Jesus continues to do in our lives.
The consecration and purification of the heart and life . We are called, directly by God, to be sanctified. But sanctification requires action. There are no shortcuts, only one way. Jesus earned our right of way and is our example of sanctification. The decision is all yours.
Holy Spirit: The 3rd person in the Trinity and part of God. His work is unlimited. He leads us and helps us understand the truth. We cannot understand the Bible without the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit guides us. He helps us pray according to the will of God. If you want to be victorious, allow the Spirit to intercede for us.
Hope is defined, at times, as a feeling of expectation and desire for certain things to happen. However, as Christians, we know hope to be a divine knowledge that God's plan, which is perfect and based on truth, will come to full fruition. Hope is founded on Jesus Christ.
Supreme - being superior to all others, sovereign, and highest in authority.
Christianity is a grace based system; not a meritocracy. The difference between religions are in the logos and the price. Why would you spend your life chasing after a “god” who isn’t willing to chase after you? All we have to do is believe as God is always chasing after you.
Absolute truth exists. It can be known through the Word of God. You can’t get to where you need to go if you don’t have a starting point. The Word of God was our starting point. The Bible is the unified story of redemption, it is the revelation of God to man, and it all points to salvation, which leads to Jesus.
In what worldview is your perspective set on? What truths do you believe in? From the very beginning of all matter, God existed. The proof right under your very feet.
The characters of Shadrac, Meshiac, and Abendago stood up for God even when everyone else was conforming to culture, even if it meant death. They had faith in God and Him alone. Because they knew they never stood alone. God was standing right beside them leading the way.
Our whole life is centered on “i”. But at the center of it all, the only thing that will remain is just sin. The solution to all these problems isn’t yourself. Sin is an i problem. Jesus did not live a self-centered life. He came to seek and save the lost. His focus was not on himself, but on others. Ask yourself the following question. Is your individual mission more important to you than Gods great commission? If it matters for Christ, it should matter to us.
There's this tension between joy and anxiety battling for our souls. God is not just full of happiness, but of happiness. Your joy can last forever while your happiness can be gone in a second. The way to win and conquer anxiety is by worshipping not worrying, and by trusting not trying. When you allow doubt to enter your life, that’s when anxiety starts to creep in. Let God carry your burdens, and believe in Him, because He has made a way out for you through Jesus.
Being a conqueror is not just another label, but a dedicated lifestyle. What does it mean to be a conqueror? Maybe you are doing all the right things for all the wrong reasons. You can't fake it. Conquering on comes from God. He can change you and help you become a conqueror in your own life.
Verse 6: Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me, All the days of my life; And I will dwell in the house of the LORD Forever.
Verse 5: You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; You anoint my head with oil; My cup runs over.
Verse 4: Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; For You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.
Verses 2-3: He makes me to lie down in green pastures; He leads me beside the still waters.
He restores my soul; He leads me in the paths of righteousness For His Name’s sake.

When seeking after a partner, people often say “follow your heart!” But what does the Bible say about our hearts? The flesh has a tendency to want what is wrong, but a lot of times we allow ourselves to fulfill these desires because we think it is okay because it's in our heart.
Securing yourself in Christ is the most important thing. If you are already in a relationship, then centering your relationship around God is the essential foundation. If you are dying to be in a relationship, then seek first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.
Dating. Many of us at a young age begin to fascinate about it. Some may try to pursue it, others may stay away. But we all still have questions of what it means to date.
The promises of God are still relevant today. If God promises to never leave us or forsake us, He won't. If He promises light amongst the dark, He will be there. But what good are the promises if we don’t accept them? What good are the promises if we are not faithful to them?
From Genesis to Revelation, the Lord has scattered His promises on every page. It is necessary for us to know what they are and to have faith in them.
How often do we go to a church and leave without paying attention to what was said? How often do we walk into a service, say hello to a few brothers or sisters and walk out?
What should we do then when we're sick of the cycle? Where do we get started? Holiness comes from within. The heart behind the things we do matters. If we are to ‘serve’ or looking to serve the Lord with bitterness and darkness inside, does it count? Instead of looking at others and seeing what they're doing wrong, let us first look at ourselves and judge our hearts first and foremost.
Homosexuality is not the “big sin” among other sins. It does not weigh more in God’s eyes than other sins. But yet, as all sin, it will bring death.
Treating others for their highlighted sin, that they think is ok, in a wrong way makes us no better than them. Love for all people, including those that are practicing sin openly means we are there to guide and direct them to the One who has power to change their hearts and lives.
There is no good in us to save people from darkness or sin, but God alone is powerful and merciful enough to love and save everyone, no matter the darkness or sin they are living in.
The question of fame is interesting. Many of us don't understand it or see it, but we are addicted to it. Social media has made us love it.
The concept of fame is not a sin, but the heart behind it, is. If we are seeking something other than Jesus, what is the reason behind it? Where will it bring us? Fame revolving around us highlights a large issue in us; pride.
To give everything up to God including our fame, pride, and self image is very very difficult, but completely worth it when all the vanity fades.
Purpose is constantly being searched for: Christian, or non-Christian. Whoever you are, we all want something, or be apart of something in life. Whether that's around people or not, what is the point of life if we don't find a point in ourselves?
Your purpose makes a difference. You are purpose. What you place as your purpose will influence every action you make. Purpose matters.
The story of Israel is like a surprisingly like a story we observe today. A story many of us face every day. Israel walked through something that only God’s hand was making possible. If they had looked around them or behind them, the story may have changed. How is this story relevant to us today? Well how often do we catch ourselves in the midst of God’s hand yet want to look around and behind us? To keep our eyes on what matters may be the hardest thing to do, but in the end is the only thing we need to do.
The ending chapters of Genesis all point to the one thing, God always keeps His promises. From the beginning, where Adam and Eve were destined for good but repentance and new human nature came to be, to Abraham who tries to see a future held by great offspring, all repeat that God is faithful.
So what happened at the end of it all? Well the promise God made to Joseph came to life. As all the previous ones did. Even though there was hiccups in Joseph's journey, it didn't matter as God is still good in all that He does.
Joseph soon found himself stuck on God's timing.
We don't understand why certain events happen in life today, whether it's in our personal lives or in the world we live in. God's purpose doesn't shout at us when a sickness takes someone's life or a natural disaster wipes out a city.
A sequence of events had to happen in Joseph's life in order for God's glory to rise among all the nations.
Reputation
Many of us live by it, some want to forget it, and others are still trying to make it. But what if it didn't matter? Genesis highlights a lot of reputations but does not glorify them as the character of the men and women are being molded by God.
Joseph found himself without an ounce of positive reputation. He was left only with his own character.
Dream big.
Many times we think dreams mean something, or are stories for the future. Fortunately God is not someone to cause confusion.
Joseph was placed in a bad situation by his brothers because of his dream. Although Jacobs dream scared his family, everything happened for a reason. God's plan for Joseph still worked even though man tried to interrupt. If we have dreams in life, no matter how big they are, if they are benefiting the kingdom of the Lord, with His help He will allow us to accomplish these dreams. But it’s up to us take that first step, and dream.
Jacob found himself in a position many of us find ourselves in, somewhere fighting for what we believe in even if it's not right. Jacob saw what he needed to pursue, yet his flesh wanted something else.
We as Christians today tend to know what God has set out for us, yet we still follow the wickedness of our hearts as it seems like the “better choice”, but we must pursue Christ no matter what our flesh wants. In the end, the so called better choice, if it is from ourselves usually never comes close in comparison to the what Lord marks out for us.
Jacob found himself so desperate where nothing on earth could fulfill what he was looking for. Why didn't he just ask for God's help in the first place? Because in order for him to realize what he was doing wrong Jacob had to get the point of total desperation.
Although blessing and a future was set out for Jacob, sin got in the way. Jacob saw that staying united with God is necessary, and the same goes for today, God is always reaching out to us. We just have to be desperate for Him.
Some of us are trained to think a blessing is destroyed if we fall or mess up somewhere. Sometimes even the will of God is “messed up” if we take a different route. God's will is always done, because we all have shortcomings including Isaac.
Isaac found himself in a false reality where a lie pretended to be truth. Yet, God's will for Isaac still followed, even though his path was unclean.
Gods faithfulness does not compare to the faithfulness of man. In Genesis 24, we again see that God does not hold back on displaying how faithful He is. From the beginning where the original promise was made, to the end of the chapter where Isaac and Rebekah were joined together, God is faithful to His promises.
This week, two special guests from God Will Provide Life Change Center give an account of there life changing testimonies. From living in sin at years at a time, to serving God full time gives us an insight that lives still can be transformed today if true repentance is done.
When Abraham is asked to make a sacrifice with his one and only promised son, What would Abraham do? His first instinct was trust. All Abraham could do was to trust.
With the journey Abraham and Sarah are going through the destination seems to be so distant and unreal that only their current walk seems to matter. With the promised child and the countless blessings, the two have seen enough to realize they are under the grace of God and only that will get them to their destination.
The reason behind a perfect grace is based around something that contrasts it. It would not be highlighted so dramatically if the opposing side was small. We see that the unrighteous people of Sodom witness the Lord's wrath and were killed along with their city. Grace was upon the people of God, even though wrath was present. The grace of God can only be in effect if we are living a righteous and honorable life towards the Father.
A promise is only promise if it is fully fulfilled. Whether the person accepts the promise or not, if it is fulfilled, it is still a promise. God grants promises even when we don't believe it is possible like He did with the story of Abraham's son,
The act of trusting in God and believing in any promise rewinds back to the first and most important act - knowing God. Faith in His promises and other acts come from our obedience in Him.
We see God spoke to Abraham and made a covenant with him, yet after years and years passing through, the promise was still not fulfilled. Many times we might hear the voice of God in our life, yet time passes and doubt begins to fill our minds because promises that were once made seem to be so far away. God had a purpose for Abraham and his wife to have a child, and He had purpose to grant this child to them at age they never expected. God has a purpose behind all his promises, and also a purpose for the timing behind it.
Abram, a man granted with promises that seemed impossible to perspective. A man promised to be a generation starter at the age of 100. In all the impossible promises from God to Abram, one thing is clear, God's promises never fail, they are just interrupted.
God promised Abram such great things that even Abram himself couldn’t believe it would be possible. The beauty in the story is highlighted in the simple subject - God granting man trust. Trust in man isn’t logical as the first two man and women fell at the temptation of the evil one. Even though God knows man is unworthy of glory, God blesses Abram with theses promises.
Abram had a job from God. This job had very beneficial payoffs and a high success rate. Blessings upon blessing from above were promised. Yet even though God placed a large amount of trust a human to do this job.
Trust in man has no good outcome, but trust in God is guaranteed to fulfill.
Covenant: " A usually formal, solemn, and binding agreement." Merriam Webster
It is a sort of bond a man or woman makes, that has a promise of fulfillment. The Lord created covenants with Adam, Noah, and Abraham. He made these to display what it means to have a sort of relationship between human and God.
There were many covenants that are made in Bible and some of them that are still meaningful to us today, but others may be understood in a different way, what makes a difference is noticing why covenants are purposed for us. How God is still reaching out to us today.
Through deception, and eventually the action of sin during and after the deed was done, Adam and Eve had something to hide. A fall.
The fall of man was not consistent until the day it happened in the Garden of Eden. It was actually so unfamiliar that the first beings on earth, didn't even know what the fall was. They didn't have a doubt in mind that sin was even a thing - that is was even possible.
Many times we as man and women try to hide from the fall, yet we don't give in to idea that man and women chose sin in the beginning. We tend to forget that if we don't let the life inside of us light up, we will keep falling.
God had direct intends for Adam and Eve. He precisely has Adam name all the animals and livestock of the world. He gives Eve the job to be the man's helper. Although there is a trip in the walk of these two, God still has mercy and grace over them. The mistakes of these two will forever be known to us today, but that doesn't give us a excuse to mess up and sin. As many of us know, sin is very present today. Purity and living a good and faithful life is also very known today too. Even though we may not see it, living the good and pure life will always be the better option. As the ending of Genesis 2 mentions, “And the man and his wife were both naked and were not ashamed.” They were not ashamed because no sin or guilt was present.
Without God, all that is left is darkness. The earth was without form and void, and darkness was over the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters.”
Why did God create the heavens and earth first? Do we ever consider the fact that God had a plan for these two to hold billions of people? The creator of the HEAVENS and the EARTH created you and I. The creator of the HEAVENS and EARTH made every plant or piece of land you set your eyes on. The Creator, gave you place to live on, and also a place to hope for. The Creator, is a Genesis God. A God, with a purpose behind creating a “home” for us first, and also creating a “home” for us in the future.
Being content with what we have is difficult in today's society which embraces the more the merrier. Just as a child is never is full until he is offered more of something he truly wants, the same rings true for humanity. But regardless, the child knows what is to come whether he claims to be “full” or not. The child has a want, although he claims otherwise before. Paul reveals that in Jesus, does true satisfaction and a desire to abound in every situation exists.
If you are an active church member in your house, you will be an active church member outside of your house.
Church, to many of us today, is located in 4 walls that we attend to every Sunday. Matthew 18:20 disagrees, “For where two or three are gathered in my name, there am I among them." We as a church must understand what God is, who God is, and begin to rebuild what God has for us. Church starts in our homes, between our families. In the first church they were not afraid to preach from house to house. To attend a building every Sunday for church is one thing, but to spread that love and glory of Jesus Christ between your household every other day, is what we are called to do.
Church. More than a building. More than an event.
Matthew 16:13-18 is the first time that Jesus even mentioned the word church. He was accessing all of His disciples that His church will be built upon a rock. A solid foundation. So what is the purpose of the church? To preach the gospel. Church is not limited to a building, it happens where you are.
We encounter different types of people everyday. Whether it's in school, work, at the store or anywhere else, we constantly are in contact with other people. Yet every single person speaks a different vocabulary. Some are pleasant, others rude, some in-between. But, regardless of their vocabulary, their heart will always be reflected in their speech. It is the words we speak that define what is within us. Whatever you have deep inside is bound to come out. There's a solution to this; Colossians 4:6, “Let your speech always be gracious, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how you ought to answer each person.” Bad friendships will destroy good habits. Because Jesus sent His spirit for us, our hearts can be cleansed and we are then able to have those graceful but seasoned conversations. It is ultimately up to us whether we allow Him to guide us and our words.
The Name Jesus has become repetitious of us. To some it is just another Name, to others it is the entire foundation. What power does a name hold? Why are some willing to give up everything for this name?
Prayer, Anxiety, and petition. A odd trio, but it's something we do, something we struggle with.
The question that arises is why do we still struggle with all those things? From Paul in the New Testament all the way to us in the present day, anxiety is a reality. All throughout history, we see prayers sometimes don't get answered; and petition is just another word that has been forgotten about throughout the years. What if we spoke to God, like we spoke to our dads at home, or our friends at school and church? Instead of saying fancy prayers with big words or unfamiliar language, try having a conversation with God. Submit a petition to Him. Don't be anxious to open up to Him. It’s really just up to us whether we take that step towards Him or not.
Prayer today seems like a natural thing if you grew up in Christian family, A prayer could be a call for help from God, or maybe a simple thank you - regardless of what the prayer is about, is it effective? Is it heard by God? Is it even meaningful? Does it even have a point?
Just because a prayer is loud or ‘powerful’, does not mean it is effective or actually powerful. We as people like to be in control of our lives, and sometimes that inner control we live by begins to take over our spiritual life which results in failure. The more times we try to control a situation that is in God's hands, the more times we fail and begin to grow numb and tired spiritually. To be confident in Christ everyday equals being confident in yourself. The only moment when we realize we are asleep is when we wake up in Christ. A purposeful and powerful prayer may be your answer, but pursuing God persistently will give God the chance to work.
