Madden
Jorge Madden is a true artist and music connoisseur. He grew up practicing watersports and creating music in the Canary Islands (Spain), exposed to a rich melting pot of rhythms from salsa to UK garage, happy hardcore, trance, 80s and 90s pop, and eurohouse.
While pursuing a career as a professional athlete and dancer, he grew his reputation producing radio jingles, music for fitness competitions, and mixing music sessions for world-renowned presenters like Carmen Diaz.
His talent and uniqueness mixing records earned him residencies at legendary clubs in Spain like Catedral (Sevilla), Shoko (Barcelona), and Pacha (Barcelona and Ibiza). He is also well-known among the Burningman community for spinning exquisite 10+ hour-long marathon storytelling sets.
Madden is a prolific music producer with over 20 releases of diverse genres from tech house to melodic techno. His personal style is melodic, groovy, with a head-turning element of surprise. He also curates content for the Todobien record label.

Reflecting on the themes of contentment, satisfaction, purchase of happiness, and trying to figure out if we can ever feel complete in a moment by ourselves, or we're always chasing something better. So many spiritual masters and traditions encourage us to meditate and find peace and solace in the instant, just being, but for some reason - maybe societal programming, maybe evolution, maybe because it's our deepest rooted survival instinct - even knowing what the almighty TAO represents and having had glimpses of the Universal puzzle, we fail to accept reality as it is and attach to an unattainable love that will most likely hurt us and bring such deep deception to confirm what we knew from the beginning. But then, are we better off living in painful acceptance, not taking risks and surrendering to a boring journey through a purgatory of simple things? Why do we feel like we are made to touch the stars but only equipped with wings made of wax? The answer is usually already in the question... maybe we need to figure out better wings for what our heart screams is our purpose.
Recorded with very limited resources onboard "BLUE" in Antigua. This is to show that when music wants a way out, she gets it. I'm so inspired and feeling so connected with the beauty of the world, after so much struggle and deception, everything shall pass, but today I smile and create with a full heart.

I recorded this mix at my parent's home in Tenerife, right after moving back to Europe for a new season of my life's adventures. After 10 years based in the USA I have decided to come back to this side of the ocean to reconnect with my roots and find the calm and reset my soul craves, while I wait for life to deliver it's next crazy challenge. I have been feeling a bit low energy for the last couple of weeks after returning to the USA and facing "real life". Darkness has kidnapped my system a bit and I'm struggling to focus on the positive and dial down the negative. I'm also a bit "homeless" and couchsurfing at a friend's apartment while I figure my shit out, which has been a blessing but tough nonetheless. I have not found the energy to record a new set, but instead I want to share with you one from November 2009, a time that feels like eons ago but realistically isn't. When listening to the music I used to play back then I can remember a glimpse of optimism and joy, the uncomplicated life, when I lived an inexpensive life in Barcelona as a younger version of myself. My wonderful friends and I just pulled out an amazing love, laughter, nature, foodie, music, and dance couple of days, and yes we put a ton of work into it, but OH BOY was it worth it!
During Art Basel past November, we enjoyed hosting our friends at our new place in Miami. We had the best time, and in between laughs and dances, Lizzie and Alika had a vision: We want to have you all (and more) at our new home state (MONTANA) for a “micro-wellness-and-music-festival”. They rented an awesome ranch in the middle of the Bozeman mountain range, where we could set up and be loud, which is all that a musical crew could ever dream of.
Crazy travel plans were arranged (getting to Montana is “on purpose” hard according to our hostess), and once we arrived it didn’t disappoint. Beautiful outdoors, gorgeous property, sound healing, and breathwork EVERY DAY, made us both find the connection with ourselves and the energy to keep going for days and nights of dancing and fun.
This set is the one I played on Saturday for Kristin’s Big Birthday Bash. We had learned our lesson from the previous night when our “main stage” had been violently closed at 3 am by the owners of the property that had decided it was a good idea to stay in the house next to our DiscoBarn. I’m sorry for them, when we said we’d be bringing sound equipment they were probably thinking of a couple of guitars, maybe a ukelele… Little did they know that the largest mobile club in the state was coming to town! That inconvenience made us figure out ways to escape the craziness and we ended up setting up in our meditation room, which ended up being the best.
As "revenge" for the overbearing landlords, we started plotting a plan to take over the property. Part of the machination was to raise a fringe flag on the property to claim the land as ours. The flag shall come up to the sound of An Anthem of Unknown Origin.
We had not really worked out DJ slots, but again when a GREAT group gets together, the energy just dictates the times. Our host and AMAZING DJ Lizzie (aka DJ Plot-twist) gave a recital of energy, smooth transitions, and pure magic. After more than 2 hours behind the decks with the perfect warm-up, she asked for relief and I jumped in ready to deliver a peak time session.
This time I wanted to overdeliver for my wife’s birthday. The pressure was on, the set went on for a little over 2.5 hours and I WORKED for it. It was one of the “hard” sets when I’m deep in technique and selection to make the ultimate sound experience come through.
When I was done playing, Chad had an enormous grin on his face. I had seen that expression before, he approved. After going over the tracklist history I realized the uniqueness of the selection. I decided to re-record the set just as I had played it, carefully following the "recipe" to try to recreate the moment as faithfully as possible.
This is the live recording of my warm-up set for PEW PEW x IMPORT/EXPORT x CLUB RAPTURE in Miami, recorded on 30th April 2022.
There is always something special about posting a live recording, but having this particular one is extra for me. The PEW PEW House in Miami was a magical experience that I'm proud and happy to be part of. I'm looking forward to more unicorn parades and hopefully bringing the soundtrack to them for the PEW fam!

Multiple textures coexist in a melodic buildup towards a sweet melodic break with some tribal vibe, to drop into a fat bass section that evoques a state of trance and getting lost in the dancefloor. The main melody takes over again with a longer break and the textures continue entangling themselves for the rest of the trip.
'Stupid Fights' starts with weird and mysterious sounds over a solid 4x4 techno beat. Things keep getting weird, dark and energetic until the main melody takes over for a sweet cinematic break.

Belmont Hotel is a groovy minimal/tech house track with an interesting ambient and glitchy buildup to a fat round bass line section that works perfectly as DJ tool, first hour track or bridge in your set. Check out my new set. Very melodic with some interesting experimental transitions. My headphones died on me after 2/3 into it and I got so frustrated!! I was really feeling this mix and loving the tracks and transitions so far... and I still had a ton of new music that I wanted to play! I managed to find a pair of shitty in-ear headphones to finish the mix before the track finished... and somehow adapted my ears to be able to mix and go a little longer.

Sometimes I run into little gems of the past, like this live 5.5 hour set from December 2006 recorded in the epic Catedral Club in Sevilla. I cherish a lot of great memories. That moment in time Gianni and I were about 1.5 years deep into DJing back to back. There are some EPIC moments on this set. A lot of crazy tracks that will make your Shazam go into critical fail mode. Super eclectic set, lots of energy, melodies and good times. Yes to throwbacks!!!!

Burningman is a special place. With it's beauty and it's challenges it brings the best of us, and sometimes also the worst! One of the most beautiful gifts I received this year was the invitation to play 17 Virgins' Speakeasy for their Wednesday Day Rip. 3 hours flew by and felt like a minute, watching you beautiful people dance, smile and share your joy with me. I'm very lucky to have found you and stay in touch. I love you! This is the set, let's go back )'(ome for a little while...

Music is my passion. Being able to fill in to DJ at sunrise for The Kazbah's crew, was for sure the highlight of my Burn. I met many of you dancers through the week, and I would like to connect and continue sharing music and experiences with you.
I must THANK YOU my dear friend Ian for making it happen (as always, I'm nothing without your manager skills) and THANK YOU SO MUCH to Firas and Ali, who were the boothkeepers at Kazbah that morning and opened the gates so I could perform.
I can tell Ian didn't enjoy my set's opening. The first text message I received when I turned off airplane mode on Monday was "Dude play normal shit. Not techno.". I want to share the story of this set. I hope it evoques your own feelings, but this is what I tried to do:
I was at the Kazbah for over an hour before I started playing. I soaked the vibe. I felt the crowd. I feel this is very important on a camp like this, where most of the people commit to dance all night long and well into the morning. The DJ playing right before me had been playing beautiful deep melodies and creating a loving atmosphere on a pretty steady tone. When it was my turn to play I decided it was time to "stir the pot" with the big spoon. I believe it worked! Open eyes, groovy dance moves, fists in the air. A new party had just begun, morning coffee is strong today. I followed with heavy basslines, psychodelic synths, hints of electro, progressive and tribal percussion to lift the dancers into the deep groove of "Real Love". You followed, so I got a little deeper with darker synths to finally throw you a rope out with dreamy steel pan melodies as the sky turned red and orange. The SUN decided to join the party and it was time for "I need your loving... like the sunshine". I saw hugs, kisses and melancholic gazes to the horizon... followed with pure joy and more dancing. My job was done, and you had made me the happiest person in the Playa. I started slowly paving the way for the next artist with Peggy Gou's hit "Han Jan", followed by Jimpster's "Becoming Cyclonic" dreamy guitars and deep beat.

I finished and started the year with fitness in mind. I decided to make a mixtape at 125bpm with some of my favourite tunes for the gym, running, biking... whatever it is you do. When any of this pops up on my headphones I just have to keep pushing, I hope it has the same effect on you and it helps with the new year's fitness resolutions :)

I'm thinking of something special to celebrate 10 years of DJ Madden online sessions. To start, here it comes, the very first set uploaded in August 2005 for your re-enjoyment. This is how it all started! Thanks for your support through time, since the times when not everybody was a DJ, not everybody was a producer and the market wasn't so overpopulated with copies of the copies of the copies like it is today.

Burning Man has been a blast and the Lemonade Stand has been a great stop for all burners walking, biking or riding by. We offered the best leaded and unleaded lemonade in the desert, there's no doubt about it, and I was djing every day and enjoying your dancing.
