Gold: Legends claim this POKéMON flies the world’s skies continuously on its magnificent seven-colored wings.
Silver: A legend says that its body glows in seven colors. A rainbow is said to form behind it when it flies.
Crystal: It will reveal itself before a pure-hearted trainer by shining its bright rainbow-colored wings.
Ruby & Sapphire: HO-OH’s feathers glow in seven colors depending on the angle at which they are struck by light. These feathers are said to bring happiness to the bearers. This POKéMON is said to live at the foot of a rainbow.
Diamond, Pearl & Platinum: Its feathers are in seven colors. It is said that anyone seeing it is promised eternal happiness.
Photodex: People say that if you find a feather from one of Ho-Oh’s seven-colored wings, you’ll be promised eternal happiness. Ho-Oh looked so beautiful, sparkling and shining with each flap of its wings.
BTB: This big, gay bird is your ticket to heaven! Just give people the feathers, Ho-OH!

Hey it's legendary Pokemon time! Wow! Lugia! If your wings have big ol' hands on the end are they just arms? Follow along with the entries below:
Gold: It is said that it quietly spends its time deep at the bottom of the sea because its powers are too strong.
Silver: It is said to be the guardian of the seas. It is rumored to have been seen on the night of a storm.
Crystal: It has an incredible ability to calm raging storms. It is said that LUGIA appears when storms start.
Ruby & Sapphire: LUGIA’s wings pack devastating power - a light fluttering of its wings can blow apart regular houses. As a result, this POKéMON chooses to live out of sight deep under the sea.
Diamond, Pearl & Platinum: It sleeps in a deep-sea trench. If it flaps its wings, it is said to cause a 40-day storm.
Photodex: Lugia is said to be the guardian of the seas. Its power is so overwhelming that it usually stays in its home at the bottom of the sea, where it quietly sleeps.
BTB: It's mighty considerate of Lugia to live at the bottom of the ocean so that its godlike power over storms doesn't consume the Earth.

Noibat has evolved and become the night in the form of the terrifying Noivern! Hope you brought fruit! Also hope you enjoyed the 2003 hit film Daredevil! Follow along with the entries below:
X: They fly around on moonless nights and attack careless prey. Nothing can beat them in a battle in the dark.
Y: The ultrasonic waves it emits from its ears can reduce a large boulder to pebbles. It swoops out of the dark to attack.
Ultra Sun: Although it has a violent disposition, if you give it a nice ripe fruit that it loves, Noivern will suddenly become tame.
Ultra Moon: This hot-blooded Pokémon attacks anything it sees with ultrasonic waves that can crush boulders.
Sword: Aggressive and cruel, this Pokémon will ruthlessly torment enemies that are helpless in the dark.
Shield: Flying through the darkness, it weakens enemies with ultrasonic waves that could crush stone. Its fangs finish the fight.
Scarlet: Ultrasonic waves emitted by a Noivern can pulverize a large boulder. This Pokémon has a cruel disposition.
Violet: In the dark, even Hydreigon are terrified of this Pokémon. But in the light, Noivern is the one that avoids battle.
Photodex: Noivern was flying around the ruins, searching everywhere for Salandit. The ultrasonic waves it emits from its ears are powerful enough to destroy boulders.
BTB: It is the night. Not above torturing its prey to death, be advivsed to carry fruit in the dark at all times to appease it.

Cute bat alert! It's Noibat time which means it's time for us to desperately attempt to understand anything about the the science of sound! How incredible is its control over sound waves? You tell us! Follow along with the entries below:
X: They live in pitch-black caves. Their enormous ears can emit ultrasonic waves of 200,000 hertz.
Y: Even a robust wrestler will become dizzy and unable to stand when exposed to its 200,000-hertz ultrasonic waves.
Ultra Sun: Fruits are its favorite foods. This gourmet carefully picks out just the ripe ones using its sonar.
Ultra Moon: It flies around in search of fruit to eat. It uses ultrasonic waves to detect which fruits are ripe.
Sword: After nightfall, they emerge from the caves they nest in during the day. Using their ultrasonic waves, they go on the hunt for ripened fruit.
Shield: No wavelength of sound is beyond Noibat’s ability to produce. The ultrasonic waves it generates can overcome much larger Pokémon.
Scarlet: This Pokémon emits ultrasonic waves from its large ears to search for fruit to eat. It mistakes Applin for its food.
Violet: Noibat can change the frequency of its sound waves at will, and it generates ultrasonic waves of up to 200,000 hertz.
Photodex: Noibat’s ears emit ultrasonic waves that help it perceive its surroundings and fly safely in total darkness. You might also see it using those same waves on fruit to check if it’s ripe.
BTB: A happy little fruit-finder with the best pitch control in the known universe. It prefers fruit but it may not be averse to eating an Applin.

Due to lack of entries, we're pulling a double-header this episode as we talk about the Tentacool-adjacent Pokemon, Toedscool and Toedscruel! Get ready to meet your new jellyfish overlords and follow along with the entries below:
Toedscool:
Scarlet: Toedscool lives in muggy forests. The flaps that fall from its body are chewy and very delicious.
Violet: Though it looks like Tentacool, Toedscool is a completely different species. Its legs may be thin, but it can run at a speed of 30 mph.
BTB: It drops delicious flap treats while it zooms by at 30 mph, perhaps tempting predators while it escapes them.
Toedscruel:
Scarlet: These Pokémon gather into groups and form colonies deep within forests. They absolutely hate it when strangers approach.
Violet: It coils its 10 tentacles around prey and sucks out their nutrients, causing the prey pain. The folds along the rim of its head are a popular delicacy.
BTB: Toedscruel plots among its kind deep in the woods and will painfully suck out your nutrients if you interrupt their nefarious conspiracies.

Hello, we're back after a brief, unplanned break and it's time to find out how many tentacles Tentacruel has! Follow along with the entries below:
Red & Blue: The tentacles are normally kept short. On hunts, they are extended to ensnare and immobilize prey.
Yellow: Its 80 tentacles can stretch and contract freely. They wrap around prey and weaken it with poison.
Gold: Its 80 tentacles absorb water and stretch almost endlessly to CONSTRICT its prey and enemies.
Silver: In battle, it extends all 80 of its tentacles to entrap its opponent inside a poisonous net.
Crystal: When its 80 feelers absorb water, it stretches to become like a net to entangle its prey.
Ruby: TENTACRUEL has large red orbs on its head. The orbs glow before lashing the vicinity with a harsh ultrasonic blast. This POKéMON’s outburst creates rough waves around it.
Sapphire: TENTACRUEL has tentacles that can be freely elongated and shortened at will. It ensnares prey with its tentacles and weakens the prey by dosing it with a harsh toxin. It can catch up to 80 prey at the same time.
FireRed: It has 80 tentacles that move about freely. They can sting, causing poisoning and sharp, stabbing pain.
Emerald: It lives in complex rock formations on the ocean floor and traps prey using its 80 tentacles. Its red orbs glow when it grows excited or agitated.
Diamond: With 80 tentacles for ensnaring victims, it prevents escape until the prey is weakened by poison.
Pearl: It alerts others to danger by stridently flashing the red orbs on its head.
Platinum: It extends its 80 tentacles to form an encircling poisonous net that is difficult to escape.
Sun: Normally, it has 80 poisonous tentacles. The longer one has been alive, the fewer tentacles it will have.
Moon: Although these Pokémon are rare, when a large outbreak of them occurs, all fish Pokémon disappear from the surrounding sea.
Ultra Sun: It fires off ultrasonic waves from its red orbs to weaken its prey, and then it wraps them up in its 80 tentacles.
Ultra Moon: It communicates with others of its kind by lighting up the red orbs on its head. When the orbs are blinking, it’s a warning sign.
Sword: When the red orbs on Tentacruel’s head glow brightly, watch out. The Pokémon is about to fire off a burst of ultrasonic waves.
Shield: Its 80 tentacles can stretch and shrink freely. Tentacruel ensnares prey in a net of spread-out tentacles, delivering venomous stings to its catch.
Legends Arceus: It has 80 tentacles, each with a venomous tip. These tentacles are also extendible, lengthening when Tentacruel attempts to catch prey. Use caution.
Photodex: Tentacruel use ultrasonic waves to investigate their surroundings and emit light from their heads to signal danger. They seemed to react to the NEO-ONE’s scans—maybe they felt familiar to them!
BTB: The ocean's ultimate gamer, it can wipe out all competition with it's vast repertoire of weakening tools. Use caution!

Our exploration of Pokemon at the beach continues as we cover the Zubat of the sea, Tentacool! Get ready for beams! Follow along with the entries below:
Red & Blue: Drifts in shallow seas. Anglers who hook them by accident are often punished by its stinging acid.
Yellow:It can sometimes be found all dry and shriveled up on a beach. Toss it back into the sea to revive it.
Gold: When the tide goes out, dehydrated TENTACOOL remains can be found washed up on the shore.
Silver: It drifts aimlessly in waves. Very difficult to see in water, it may not be noticed until it stings.
Crystal: As it floats along on the waves, it uses its toxic feelers to stab anything it touches.
Ruby: TENTACOOL’s body is largely composed of water. If it is removed from the sea, it dries up like parchment. If this POKéMON happens to become dehydrated, put it back into the sea.
Sapphire: TENTACOOL absorbs sunlight and refracts it using water inside its body to convert it into beam energy. This POKéMON shoots beams from its crystal-like eyes.
FireRed: Its eyes are as transparent as crystals. From them, it shoots mysterious beams of light.
Emerald: Its body is almost entirely composed of water. It ensnares its foe with its two long tentacles, then stabs with the poison stingers at their tips.
Diamond: Its body is virtually composed of water. It shoots strange beams from its crystal-like eyes.
Pearl: It drifts in sea currents. Countless fishermen are hurt by its poison stingers.
Platinum: Because its body is almost entirely composed of water, it shrivels up if it is washed ashore.
Sun: They can be found lying dehydrated on beaches, but they are often still alive. When soaked in water, they will revive.
Moon: It drifts in shallow seas, such as the areas near beaches. If you get bitten or stabbed by its toxic tentacles, rush to the hospital.
Ultra Sun: It drifts through the sea searching for prey. Its poisonous tentacles break off sometimes, but after a while, they grow back.
Ultra Moon: Its body is 99% water. The remaining 1% contains the organ that makes its poison.
Sword: Tentacool is not a particularly strong swimmer. It drifts across the surface of shallow seas as it searches for prey.
Shield: This Pokémon is mostly made of water. A Tentacool out in the ocean is very hard to spot, because its body blends in with the sea.
Legends Arceus: They fire beams from the glassy, magenta orbs that resemble eyes atop their heads, and they drift in shallow seas. During low tide, they can sometimes be found on beaches, desiccated.
BTB: Utilizing powerful beam energy and poisonous stings, this drifter Pokemon is a real menace to anything that crosses its path. Sports a questionable amount of eyes.

Sandygast was really just the warm up as things go off the rails almost immediately with its evolved form Palossand AKA the Beach Nightmare! Follow along with the entries below:
Sun: Possessed people controlled by this Pokémon transformed its sand mound into a castle. As it evolved, its power to curse grew ever stronger.
Moon: Buried beneath the castle are masses of dried-up bones from those whose vitality it has drained.
Ultra Sun: Each of its grains of sand has its own will. Palossand eats small Pokémon and siphons away their vital essence while they’re still alive.
Ultra Moon: Once it has whipped up a sandstorm to halt its opponents in their tracks, this terrifying Pokémon snatches away their vitality.
Sword: Palossand is known as the Beach Nightmare. It pulls its prey down into the sand by controlling the sand itself, and then it sucks out their souls.
Shield: This Pokémon lives on beaches, but it hates water. Palossand can’t maintain its castle-like shape if it gets drenched by a heavy rain.
Scarlet: The terrifying Palossand drags smaller Pokémon into its sandy body. Once its victims are trapped, it drains them of their vitality whenever it pleases.
Violet: From the hollows in its arms, it fires the bones of its victims, which are all dried up after being drained of their vitality.
BTB: The bone cannon is ready. Sucking souls and draining vitality, the Beach Nigthmare seems to delight in terrorizing its victims.

Shucks, it sure seems like the grudge-holding spirits of the deceased in the Pokemon world will inhabit just about anything! This time they've gotten hold of a heap of sand resulting in this episode's focus, Sandygast! Follow along with the entries below:
Sun: Born from a sand mound playfully built by a child, this Pokémon embodies the grudges of the departed.
Moon: It takes control of anyone who puts a hand in its mouth. And so it adds to the accumulation of its sand-mound body.
Ultra Sun: It likes the shovel on its head, so Sandygast will get serious and fight any children who come to take it back.
Ultra Moon: If you build sand mounds when you’re playing, destroy them before you go home, or they may get possessed and become Sandygast.
Sword: Grudges of the dead have possessed a mound of sand and become a Pokémon. Sandygast is fond of the shovel on its head.
Shield: Sandygast mainly inhabits beaches. It takes control of anyone who puts their hand into its mouth, forcing them to make its body bigger.
Scarlet: If it loses its shovel, it will stick something else—like a branch—in its head to make do until it finds another shovel.
Violet: It flings sand into the eyes of its prey and tries to close in on them while they’re blinded, but since Sandygast is so slow, the prey tends to escape.
Photodex: They say that a mound of sand became possessed by the grudges of the departed, giving birth to Sandygast. Think twice about going near any cute-looking shovels you see sticking out of the sand.
BTB: Experiments are ongoing looking for ways to cultivate strong and vibrant Sandygast. Studies suggest an excess of negative vibes and playfulness could yield high-quality results.

We're talking about Cyrogonal this time so get ready to learn about snowflakes! And math! This one's kinda scary actually?? Follow along with the entries below:
Black: When its body temperature goes up, it turns into steam and vanishes. When its temperature lowers, it returns to ice.
White: They are born in snow clouds. They use chains made of ice crystals to capture prey.
Black & White 2: They are composed of ice crystals. They capture prey with chains of ice, freezing the prey at -148° F.
Sword: With its icy chains, Cryogonal freezes those it encounters. It then takes its victims away to somewhere unknown.
Shield: When the weather gets hot, these Pokémon turn into water vapor. Cryogonal are almost never seen during summer.
Scarlet: Cryogonal appear during cold seasons. It is said that people and Pokémon who die on snowy mountains are reborn into these Pokémon.
Violet: Cryogonal uses its chains of ice to constrict its opponents and then flash-freezes them where they stand.
BTB: Cyrogonal forms around a piece of departed soul, like a snowflake forms around a particle of dust. They're doing secret awful things to their flash frozen victims.

Website: Grafaiai is a moody Pokémon with a fastidious disposition. It doesn’t form packs, preferring to roam alone. It’s constantly caught up in territorial struggles with other Pokémon.
Scarlet: The color of the poisonous saliva depends on what the Pokémon eats. Grafaiai covers its fingers in its saliva and draws patterns on trees in forests.
Violet: Each Grafaiai paints its own individual pattern, and it will paint that same pattern over and over again throughout its life.
BTB: This cool loner monkey can actually use its art to stay fed. Please do not touch the display.

Violet: To keep enemies away from its territory, it paints markings around its nest using a poisonous liquid that has an acrid odor.
BTB: This stinky, little super shrew just likes to chill. Let it vibe or face the consquences.

Espurr has evolved into Meowstic and has acquired new Psychic capabilities! And gender! Follow along with the entries below:
X: When in danger, it raises its ears and releases enough psychic power to grind a 10-ton truck into dust.
Y: The eyeball patterns on the interior of its ears emit psychic energy. It keeps the patterns tightly covered because that power is too immense.
Sword (Male): Revealing the eyelike patterns on the insides of its ears will unleash its psychic powers. It normally keeps the patterns hidden, however.
Shield (Male): The defensive instinct of the males is strong. It’s when they’re protecting themselves or their partners that they unleash their full power.
Sword (Female): Females are a bit more selfish and aggressive than males. If they don’t get what they want, they will torment you with their psychic abilities.
Shield (Female): If it doesn’t hold back when it unleashes its psychic power, it can tear apart a tanker. Its unfriendliness is part of its charm.
Serena's Pokedex: When faced with trouble, Meowstic will raise its ears and create enough psychic power to demolish a ten-ton truck. Its appearance varies, depending on gender.
Goh's Rotom Phone: The male Meowstic has defensive talents, and when protecting itself or its partner, can produce power of the highest level.
BTB: Meowstic has really learned to focus its psychic powers more effectively, but can still grind some trucks to nothing under pressure.

There's a weird cat outside and it keeps exploding with Psychic energy! That's right, we're talking about Espurr this time! Apologies for the bad Braden audio. Also: spoiler warning for Frozen! Follow along with entries below:
X: The organ that emits its intense psychic power is sheltered by its ears to keep power from leaking out.
Y: It has enough psychic energy to blast everything within 300 feet of itself, but it has no control over its power.
Sword: Though Espurr’s expression never changes, behind that blank stare is an intense struggle to contain its devastating psychic power.
Shield: There’s enough psychic power in Espurr to send a wrestler flying, but because this power can’t be controlled, Espurr finds it troublesome.
Photodex: If you happened upon a floating boulder in the forest, that was likely the work of Espurr training to get better control over their psychic powers!
Ash's Pokedex: Espurr's Psychic energy can travel hundreds of feet, blasting everything around it.
BTB: Espurr is trying its very best to NOT just start blasting™, but keep your distance lest it decide to Let it Go™. Just like Mob Psycho™.

Shelmet has evolved into Accelgor and is ready to shell out... punishment? Poison? Hard to say, but we can say that listening to this episode is a surefire way to find out more. We also belatedly reveal our Pokemon of the Year for 2023! Follow along with the entries below:
Black: When its body dries out, it weakens. So, to prevent dehydration, it wraps itself in many layers of thin membrane.
White: Having removed its heavy shell, it becomes very light and can fight with ninja-like movements.
Black & White 2: When its body dries out, it weakens. So it wraps a membrane around itself for protection while it spits poison.
Sword: It moves with blinding speed and lobs poison at foes. Featuring Accelgor as a main character is a surefire way to make a movie or comic popular.
Shield: Discarding its shell made it nimble. To keep itself from dehydrating, it wraps its body in bands of membrane.
Ash's Pokedex: Accelgor is much more agile once it evolves and loses its shell, allowing it to move like a ninja when battling.
BTB: The loss of its shell greatly improved its skin-care routine, and made it a super-famous ninja. Spits poison!

Pucker up, 2024! Beyond the Ball is back and we're ready to be perplexed yet again as we talk about Karrablast's natural enemy Shelmet! Follow along with the entries below:
Black: When attacked, it defends itself by closing the lid of its shell. It can spit a sticky, poisonous liquid.
White: It evolves when bathed in an electric-like energy along with Karrablast. The reason is still unknown.
Black & White 2: When it and Karrablast are together, and both receive electrical stimulation, they both evolve.
Sword: When attacked, it tightly shuts the lid of its shell. This reaction fails to protect it from Karrablast, however, because they can still get into the shell.
Shield: It has a strange physiology that responds to electricity. When together with Karrablast, Shelmet evolves for some reason.
Ash's Pokedex: Shelmet can spit a sticky poisonous acid when attacking, and it can defend itself by closing its shell.
BTB: Litte poison-spittin' helmet guy. The helmet does not protect this little punching bag for Karrablast.

With its dark deed completed, Karrablast has evolved into its final stage, Escavalier! This one's got lances for arms and we, uh, don't love it? Follow along with the entries below:
Black: They fly around at high speed, striking with their pointed spears. Even when in trouble, they face opponents bravely.
White: These Pokémon evolve by wearing the shell covering of a Shelmet. The steel armor protects their whole body.
Black & White 2: Wearing the shell covering they stole from Shelmet, they defend themselves and attack with two lances.
Sword: They use shells they’ve stolen from Shelmet to arm and protect themselves. They’re very popular Pokémon in the Galar region.
Shield: It charges its enemies, lances at the ready. An image of one of its duels is captured in a famous painting of Escavalier clashing with Sirfetch’d.
Ash's Pokedex: Escavalier, the Cavalry Pokémon and the evolved form of Karrablast. Escavalier's body is protected by steel armor.
BTB: The mysteriously levitating bug knight may look noble but is actually a thief and a scoundrel. Goofy helmet.

It's blasting! It's clamping! That's right, it's Karrablast! Hold on. I'm hearing that it perhaps does not blast OR clamp? Let's get to the bottom of this. Follow along with the entries below:
Black: These mysterious Pokémon evolve when they receive electrical stimulation while they are in the same place as Shelmet.
White: When they feel threatened, they spit an acidic liquid to drive attackers away. This Pokémon targets Shelmet.
Black & White 2: For some reason they evolve when they receive electrical energy while they are attacking Shelmet.
Sword: Its strange physiology reacts to electrical energy in interesting ways. The presence of a Shelmet will cause this Pokémon to evolve.
Shield: It spits a liquid from its mouth to melt through Shelmet’s shell. Karrablast doesn’t eat the shell— it eats only the contents.
Ash's Pokedex: Karrablast live in forests and fields, and often hide in trees or grass when threatened. They can also defend themselves by spitting acid.
BTB: There are rumours of Karrablast's mighty clamping capabilites, but it mostly gets by with just the acid. Evolves weird.

We're on to the biggest gator of the Totodile line and perhaps the most underwhelming. Feraligatr is big, mean and pretty fast I guess? Follow along with the entries below:
Gold: When it bites with its massive and powerful jaws, it shakes its head and savagely tears its victim up.
Silver: It is hard for it to support its own weight out of water, so it gets down on all fours. But it moves fast.
Crystal: Although it has a massive body, its powerful hind legs enable it to move quickly, even on the ground.
Ruby & Sapphire: FERALIGATR intimidates its foes by opening its huge mouth. In battle, it will kick the ground hard with its thick and powerful hind legs to charge at the foe at an incredible speed.
Diamond, Pearl & Platinum: It usually moves slowly, but it goes at blinding speed when it attacks and bites prey.
Dark Feraligatr card: Its powerful muscles allow it to move at a speed that belies its bulk.
Sleep Style Dex: Feraligatr, too, is known to sleep by resting one brain hemisphere at a time. Be warned-it always keeps a vigilant eye on its surroundings and will rush at enemies as soon as it senses their presence.
Photodex: Feraligatr has a heavy body, but when it kicks off the ground with its powerful hind legs, it’s incredibly fast! It surprised us by jumping out of the water at Mightywide River.
BTB: The big gatr. So fast. So sharp. So strong. So powerful. So don't mess with it! A messy eater. Soulful eyes.

Gold: If it loses a fang, a new one grows back in its place. There are always 48 fangs lining its mouth.
Silver: It opens its huge jaws wide when attacking. If it loses any fangs while biting, they grow back in.
Crystal: The tips of its fangs are slanted backward. Once those fangs clamp down, the prey has no hope of escape.
Ruby & Sapphire: Once CROCONAW has clamped its jaws on its foe, it will absolutely not let go. Because the tips of its fangs are forked back like barbed fishhooks, they become impossible to remove when they have sunk in.
Diamond, Pearl & Platinum: Once it bites down, it won’t let go until it loses its fangs. New fangs quickly grow into place.
Dark Croconaw card: It has 49 teeth in its mouth that are constantly replacing themselves. Pull one out, and a new one grows in.
Sleep Style Dex: It's known to rest one brain hemisphere at a time, with the eye on the opposite side closed. Perhaps this method of sleeping with alternating halves of its brain is a defense against enemy attacks.
BTB: An endless supply of vicious teeth line this primal rapscallion's big ol' mouth. Croconaw bites are forever.

Oddish's journey comes to an end as we discuss Bellossom this episode! Put away the gas mask and start ringing the sunshine bells! Follow along with the entries below:
Gold: BELLOSSOM gather at times and appear to dance. They say that the dance is a ritual to summon the sun.
Silver: Plentiful in the tropics. When it dances, its petals rub together and make a pleasant ringing sound.
Crystal: When these dance together, their petals rub against each other, making pretty, relaxing sounds.
Ruby: When BELLOSSOM gets exposed to plenty of sunlight, the leaves ringing its body begin to spin around. This POKéMON’s dancing is renowned in the southern lands.
Sapphire: A BELLOSSOM grows flowers more beautifully if it has evolved from a smelly GLOOM - the stinkier the better. At night, this POKéMON closes its petals and goes to sleep.
Emerald: Its flower petals deepen in color through exposure to sunlight. When cloudy weather persists, it does a dance that is thought to be a ritual for summoning the sun.
Diamond, Pearl, & Platinum: When the heavy rainfall season ends, it is drawn out by warm sunlight to dance in the open.
Photodex: Bellossom usually hide in vegetation, but when something puts them in a happy mood, they come out of hiding to dance with their friends.
BTB: These happy little flower folks seem to enjoy dancing and worship the mighty sun. They probably don't smell bad.

We're on to Vileplume and it's bigger, floppier and perhaps no longer stinky. It's also definitely some combination of toxic, poisonous, and/or allergenic. Also Will says "rapscallion" twice in this episode! Follow along with the entries below:
Red & Blue: The larger its petals, the more toxic pollen it contains. Its big head is heavy and hard to hold up.
Yellow: Flaps its broad flower petals to scatter its poisonous pollen. The flapping sound is very loud.
Gold: It has the world’s largest petals. With every step, the petals shake out heavy clouds of toxic pollen.
Silver: The bud bursts into bloom with a bang. It then starts scattering allergenic, poisonous pollen.
Crystal: By shaking its big petals, it scatters toxic pollen into the air, turning the air yellow.
Ruby: VILEPLUME’s toxic pollen triggers atrocious allergy attacks. That’s why it is advisable never to approach any attractive flowers in a jungle, however pretty they may be.
Sapphire: VILEPLUME has the world’s largest petals. They are used to attract prey that are then doused with toxic spores. Once the prey are immobilized, this POKéMON catches and devours them.
FireRed: Its petals are the largest in the world. It fiendishly scatters allergy-causing pollen from its petals.
Emerald: In seasons when it produces more pollen, the air around a VILEPLUME turns yellow with the powder as it walks. The pollen is highly toxic and causes paralysis.
Diamond, Pearl, & Platinum: Its petals are the largest in the world. As it walks, it scatters extremely allergenic pollen.
BTB: Its record-breaking petals are fiendishly flapping a flood of finely-poisoned pollen so it can eat you. Yikes!

We're back on schedule this week to finally talk about Oddish's evolved form, Gloom! It's time to quantify some stinky! Follow along with the entries below:
Red & Blue: The fluid that oozes from its mouth isn’t drool. It is a nectar that is used to attract prey.
Yellow: Smells incredibly foul! However, around 1 out of 1,000 people enjoy sniffing its nose-bending stink.
Gold: What appears to be drool is actually sweet honey. It is very sticky and clings stubbornly if touched.
Silver: It secretes a sticky, drool-like honey. Although sweet, it smells too repulsive to get very close.
Crystal: The smell from its drool-like syrup and the pollen on its petals is so bad, it may make opponents faint.
Ruby: GLOOM releases a foul fragrance from the pistil of its flower. When faced with danger, the stench worsens. If this POKéMON is feeling calm and secure, it does not release its usual stinky aroma.
Sapphire: From its mouth GLOOM drips honey that smells absolutely horrible. Apparently, it loves the horrid stench. It sniffs the noxious fumes and then drools even more of its honey.
FireRed: Its pistils exude an incredibly foul odor. The horrid stench can cause fainting at a distance of 1.25 miles.
Emerald: A horribly noxious honey drools from its mouth. One whiff of the honey can result in memory loss. Some fans are said to enjoy this overwhelming stink, however.
Diamond, Pearl, & Platinum: The honey it drools from its mouth smells so atrocious, it can curl noses more than a mile away.
BTB: It smells so bad that you can't hold the knowledge of its stink in your mind. Gloom can dig it though.

What if a plant could walk? What if a plant could scream? The answer, of course, is Oddish! Get ready to learn a lot about a little guy. Also Braden's been Pokemon Sleeping and having a surprisingly decent time. Follow along with the entries below:
Red & Blue: During the day, it keeps its face buried in the ground. At night, it wanders around sowing its seeds.
Yellow: It may be mistaken for a clump of weeds. If you try to yank it out of the ground, it shrieks horribly.
Gold: Awakened by moonlight, it roams actively at night. In the day, it stays quietly underground.
Silver: If exposed to moonlight, it starts to move. It roams far and wide at night to scatter its seeds.
Crystal: During the day, it stays in the cold underground to avoid the sun. It grows by bathing in moonlight.
Ruby: During the daytime, ODDISH buries itself in soil to absorb nutrients from the ground using its entire body. The more fertile the soil, the glossier its leaves become.
Sapphire: ODDISH searches for fertile, nutrient-rich soil, then plants itself. During the daytime, while it is planted, this POKéMON’s feet are thought to change shape and become similar to the roots of trees.
FireRed: Its scientific name is “Oddium Wanderus.” At night, it is said to walk nearly 1,000 feet on its two roots.
Emerald: This POKéMON grows by absorbing moonlight. During the daytime, it buries itself in the ground, leaving only its leaves exposed to avoid detection by its enemies.
Diamond, Pearl, & Platinum: It often plants its root feet in the ground during the day and sows seeds as it walks about at night.
BTB: It runs around at night screaming and spewing seeds. Bucks plant convention by hating the sun.

We got an extra-long whopper of an episode this week as we discuss Sharpedo. Get ready for absurd destructive capabilities, gross mischaracterizations, unsettling revelations, and more! Also baseball? And more Zelda obviously. Follow along with the entries below:
Ruby: Nicknamed “the bully of the sea,” SHARPEDO is widely feared. Its cruel fangs grow back immediately if they snap off. Just one of these POKéMON can thoroughly tear apart a supertanker.
Sapphire: SHARPEDO can swim at speeds of up to 75 mph by jetting seawater out of its backside. This POKéMON’s drawback is its inability to swim long distances.
FireRed & LeafGreen: The ruffian of the seas, it has fangs that crunch through iron. It swims by jetting water from its rear.
Emerald: The vicious and sly gangster of the sea. Its skin is specially textured to minimize drag in water. Its speed tops out at over 75 miles per hour.
Diamond, Pearl, Platinum: Its fangs rip through sheet iron. It swims at 75 mph and is known as “The Bully of the Sea.”
HeartGold & SoulSilver: It can swim at speeds of 75 mph by jetting seawater through its body. It is the bandit of the sea.
Sun: It pursues its prey at speeds of 75 mph and finishes them off with fangs that can crush iron. It is known as the bully of the sea.
Moon: It has a sad history. In the past, its dorsal fin was a treasured foodstuff, so this Pokémon became a victim of overfishing.
Ultra Sun: People believe that carrying one of its discarded fangs will prevent mishaps at sea, so the fangs are made into accessories.
Ultra Moon: It drinks in seawater and jets it from its rear to propel itself. It’s very sensitive to the scent of blood.
Sword: As soon as it catches the scent of prey, Sharpedo will jet seawater from its backside, hurtling toward the target to attack at 75 mph.
Shield: This Pokémon is known as the Bully of the Sea. Any ship entering the waters Sharpedo calls home will be attacked—no exceptions.
BTB: Known to pleasant individuals as the Cheetah of the Sea, Sharpedo is on a quest to obliterate all shipping lanes.
Mega Sharpedo
Sun: The spines sprouting from its head are transformed fangs. If they’re injured or broken off, the spines will regenerate countless times.
Moon: As a consequence of Mega Evolution, its combative instincts exploded. The yellow marks it bears are scars from a long history of battles.
Ultra Sun: The yellow patterns it bears are old scars. The energy from Mega Evolution runs through them, causing it sharp pain and suffering.
Ultra Moon: The moment it charges into its opponent, sharp spikes pop out of Sharpedo’s head, leaving its opponent with deep wounds.

Ruby: CARVANHA’s strongly developed jaws and its sharply pointed fangs pack the destructive power to rip out boat hulls. Many boats have been attacked and sunk by this POKéMON.
Sapphire: If anything invades CARVANHA’s territory, it will swarm and tear at the intruder with its pointed fangs. On its own, however, this POKéMON turns suddenly timid.
FireRed & LeafGreen: It lives in massive rivers that course through jungles. It swarms prey that enter its territory.
Emerald: CARVANHA attack ships in swarms, making them sink. Although it is said to be a very vicious POKéMON, it timidly flees as soon as it finds itself alone.
Diamond, Pearl, Platinum: They swarm any foe that invades their territory. Their sharp fangs can tear out boat hulls.
HeartGold & SoulSilver: They form packs to attack boats and rip out their hulls to sink them. They live in rivers in the jungle.
Sun: Each school has its own territory. Any intruders are mercilessly attacked with fangs bared.
Moon: If they scent the faintest trace of blood, they rush to attack en masse. When alone, they’re rather cowardly.
Ultra Sun: They’re such cowards that they won’t hunt alone. When five or so of them get together, they suddenly turn ferocious!
Ultra Moon: With its sturdy jaws and fangs, it can easily chomp wooden boats to splinters. It fights with Basculin over food.

Shield: These Pokémon have both calm and ferocious qualities. Their temperamental nature makes them a difficult species to raise.
Scarlet: Normally this Pokémon doesn’t even bark, but once it enters battle, it will relentlessly drive the opponent into a corner.
Violet: These Pokémon have both calm and ferocious qualities. It’s said that this form of Lycanroc is the most troublesome to raise.

Sun: It’s considered to be a good Pokémon for beginners because of its friendliness, but its disposition grows rougher as it grows up.
Moon: This Pokémon has lived with people since times long ago. It can sense when its Trainer is in the dumps and will stick close by its Trainer’s side.
Ultra Sun: As they develop, their disposition grows more violent and aggressive. Many Trainers find them too much to handle and abandon them.
Ultra Moon: When it rubs the rocks on its neck against you, that’s proof of its love for you. However, the rocks are sharp, so the gesture is quite painful!
Sword: This Pokémon can bond very strongly with its Trainer, but it also has a habit of biting. Raising a Rockruff for a long time can be challenging.
Shield: This Pokémon intimidates opponents by striking the ground with the rocks on its neck. The moment an opponent flinches, Rockruff attacks.
Scarlet: This Pokémon is very friendly when it’s young. Its disposition becomes vicious once it matures, but it never forgets the kindness of its master.
Violet: This Pokémon travels in a pack with others until it grows up. When its mood turns sour, it starts striking the ground with the rocks on its neck.
Photodex: Rockruff is really good at making friends, which we saw when it was playing happily with some other Pokémon. But it’s also brave enough to protect its friends if something were to threaten them.

Red & Blue: Always furious and tenacious to boot. It will not abandon chasing its quarry until it is caught.
Yellow: It stops being angry only when nobody else is around. To view this moment is very difficult.
Gold: If approached while asleep, it may awaken and angrily give chase in a groggy state of semi-sleep.
Silver: It becomes wildly furious if it even senses someone looking at it. It chases anyone that meets its glare.
Crystal: It will beat up anyone who makes it mad, even if it has to chase them until the end of the world.
Ruby & Sapphire: When PRIMEAPE becomes furious, its blood circulation is boosted. In turn, its muscles are made even stronger. However, it also becomes much less intelligent at the same time.
FireRed: It is always outrageously furious. If it gives chase, it will tenaciously track the target no matter how far.
Diamond, Pearl & Platinum: It grows angry if you see its eyes and gets angrier if you run. If you beat it, it gets even madder.
Sun: It has been known to become so angry that it dies as a result. Its face looks peaceful in death, however.
Moon: Some researchers theorize that Primeape remains angry even when inside a Poké Ball.
Ultra Sun: It will never forgive opponents who have angered it. Even after it has beaten them down until they can’t move, it never ever forgives.
Ultra Moon: The blood vessels in its brain are sturdier than those of other Pokémon, so it can stay healthy despite its constant raging.
Dark Primeape: Although Primeapes have always been mean, lately they seem to be becoming even more vicious and frenzied.
BTB: If you anger it, and you will, just play dead and take it because if you make it even angrier it might die.

Emerald: When it starts shaking and its nasal breathing turns rough, it’s a sure sign of anger. However, since this happens instantly, there is no time to flee.
FireRed: Light and agile on its feet, and ferocious in temperament. When angered, it flies into an uncontrollable frenzy.
Diamond, Pearl & Platinum: It lives in treetop colonies. If one becomes enraged, the whole colony rampages for no reason.
Sun: It can spontaneously become enraged. Everyone near it clears out as it rampages, and the resulting loneliness makes it angrier still.
Moon: Its raging tires it out and causes it to fall asleep, but the anger resonating in its dreams causes it to wake up—which infuriates it all over again.
Ultra Sun: The smallest of things could cause it to lose its temper. Because it doesn’t hold in its stress, this Pokémon can live a long time.
Ultra Moon: If one gets angry, all the others around it will get angry, so silence is a rare visitor in a troop of Mankey.
BTB: The angriest angry Pokemon in the world. An unstoppable, furry ball of noise and violence.

We'll investigate why it loves to prank so much and just how ethical/necessary such pranks may or may not be. Plus, Braden complains about yet another Pokemon movie! Black:It changes into the forms of others to surprise them. Apparently, it often transforms into a silent child.
White:To protect themselves from danger, they hide their true identities by transforming into people and Pokémon.
Black & White 2:It changes so it looks just like its foe, tricks it, and then uses that opportunity to flee.
Ultra Sun:This Pokémon has a cowardly disposition, so when it’s not around friends, it basically always stays transformed as something else.
Ultra Moon:If a normally talkative child suddenly stops talking, it may have been replaced by Zorua.
Sword:Zorua is a timid Pokémon. This disposition seems to be what led to the development of Zorua’s ability to take on the forms of other creatures.
Shield:Zorua sometimes transforms into a person and goes into cities to search for food. When Zorua does this, it usually takes on the form of a child.
BTB:A cunning little shapeshifter that uses its abilities for fun, safety, and profit. Child kidnapping allegations remain unproven.

Violet: This Pokémon’s leaves can be made into a black tea, the taste of which varies depending on the region of origin. Paldea’s is especially aromatic.

Scarlet: It’s said that Sawsbuck are calm and easy to tame during the season when they take on this form, so it’s the perfect time to make one your partner.
Violet: Though there are many enthusiasts for Sawsbuck as a species, this seasonal form in particular is not very popular.
Photodex: This Pokémon’s appearance changes with the passing of the seasons. Normally, you could never see all four forms of Sawsbuck at the same time, but Elsewhere Forest seems to be the exception!
BTB: There are many Sawsbuck enthusiasts, but they all have bad opinions. Winter form Sawsbuck is super cool. They all have vibes that are incongruous with the season.

It's time to talk about a a little deer! That's right, Deerling is here and we're gonna talk about just how distinct it is from a regular old deer, its seasonal scents, and more! Follow along with the entries below:
Black: The color and scent of their fur changes to match the mountain grass. When they sense hostility, they hide in the grass.
White: The turning of the seasons changes the color and scent of this Pokémon’s fur. People use it to mark the seasons.

Autumn Form
Scarlet: These Pokémon are not shy—they will behave as they please, even in front of people. If you feed one of them, it will quickly take a liking to you.

Spring Form
Scarlet: Deerling have different scents depending on the season. In early spring, these Pokémon give off a delicate, sweet, and calming scent.
Violet: Despite Deerling’s adorable appearance, farmers consider it a nuisance since it loves plant shoots and will eat them all up.
Summer Form
Scarlet: To prevent Deerling from entering their fields, many farmers will have several Lycanroc stand guard, as they are the natural enemy of Deerling.
Violet: Deerling have different scents depending on the season. When a distinct grassy smell starts to waft from one, you know that summer has begun.
Winter Form
Scarlet: Deerling’s scent changes with the seasons, but when the Pokémon is in its Winter Form, it has hardly any scent at all.
Violet: This Pokémon will playfully headbutt those it gets along well with. It has antlers hidden under its flower, so the headbutts are a little painful.

HeartGold & SoulSilver: It brandishes its gaping mouth in a display of fearsome strength. It raises vast quantities of sand while attacking.
Sword: Stones can get stuck in the ports on their bodies. Dwebble help dislodge such stones, so Hippowdon look after these Pokémon.
Shield: When roused to violence by its rage, it spews out the quantities of sand it has swallowed and whips up a sandstorm.
Legends: Arceus: Short-tempered and easily moved to violence. It whips up whirlwinds of sand to crush its foes’ spirits, then goes in for the attack.

Shield: This Pokémon is active during the day and passes the cold desert nights burrowed snugly into the sand.
Legends: Arceus: Though large and languid, Hippopotas is difficult to detect due to its tendency to burrow into and lurk beneath the soil. When agitated or excited, it expels sand from its nostrils.
BTB: It loves sand because it gets everywhere and keeps it safe from germs (the bad ones). The hole on its back is a third nostril.

Sword: It forms a water bubble at the rear of its body and then covers its head with it. Meeting another Dewpider means comparing water-bubble sizes.
Shield: Dewpider normally lives underwater. When it comes onto land in search of food, it takes water with it in the form of a bubble on its head.

Shield: Clawitzer’s right arm is a cannon that launches projectiles made of seawater. Shots from a Clawitzer’s cannon arm can sink a tanker.
Scarlet: Clawitzer can move through the water at a speed of 60 knots by using gas inside its body to expel water from the back of its claw.
Violet: The cannonballs of seawater that Clawitzer launches from its claw are powerful enough to punch through tanker hulls.
BTB: An enormous cannon/jetpack attached to a redundant shrimp. It farts around at 69 MPH.
Photodex: Clawitzer are very territorial, and they are known to fight fiercely among each other. The cannonballs of water that they launch from their claws can break through walls and shatter big boulders.
Super Smash Bros. for Wii U Trophy info (NA): Clawitzer's right claw is so massive, we wouldn't be surprised if you thought it was this Pokémon's actual body. The name Howitzer Pokémon is no accident - it can pierce the hull of a ship with the watery cannonballs it fires. Unless you've got a water gun that can match that, we'd suggest skipping the water fight with this one.

Eevee: It has three different forms: a Normal-type, an Ice-type, and a Human-type. No one is sure how it changes form, but it is certain that it can change.
This Pokemon can adapt to any environment. Because it is common in every environment, it must be the guardian of every home. However, in battle, it gets easily frightened.
Gigantamax Eevee: This Pokemon's body is entirely integrated with seven separate Eevee cells. As a result, it gains an Eevee's eight different abilities.
Vaporeon: This Water-type Pokemon is agressive and can spray a powerful jet of water. It can even consume nearly 1,000 gallons of water in one gulp.
Vaporeon likes to fight on the ground. In fact, this Water - type likes to roll in the mud and play in it, too. It also adores water of any kind, and will suck up water from rivers and fountains.
Jolteon: This Pokemon can charge its batteries up to produce a powerful thunderous reaction. It can also slow down the passage of time for its enemies.
The Jolteon is a dual-type Pokémon that uses electric-type moves. It is covered with electric-looking spikes. Jolteon evolves into Flareon at level 22. The Pokedex entry for Jolteon is 51955. A
Flareon: This Pokemon can set anything on fire from a distance with its fiery breath. It is highly courageous, but also very arrogant.
Feisty, passionate, independent and fierce. Flareon's greatest asset is its ability to guide and inspire others through compassion and friendship.

Umbreon, the Fossil Pokemon. Umbreon evolved from Eevee about a week ago. As a result of its evolution Umbreon now has a much stronger hatred for any type of stone.
Leafeon: This Pokemon is affiliated with the chlorophyll-producing plants. It has the ability to take any form based on the chlorophyll-producing plants that are most abundant in the area.
Leafeon comes from the word "leaf". It loves plants and can tell by the color of the leaves at any given moment. This Pokemon receives so much sunlight that its body can fluoresce.
Glaceon: This Pokemon has incredible flexibility. It can freely control the degree to which it is composed of solid ice.
An Ice - type Pokémon that can produce spikes of ice in its body. Because of this, it is very fragile. It will freeze if something hot is placed on its body for too long.
Sylveon: This Pokemon generates its own light, making it a living shadow. It uses its shadow-generating ability to immobilize and defeat its prey, mainly Pokemon, which it lures with its song.
The Sylveon that appears in this Pokedex would appear friendly until you try to approach it, at which point it becomes aggressive. You must walk away and shut your lights off.

Y: Using its roots as a nervous system, it controls the trees in the forest. It’s kind to the Pokémon that reside in its body.
Sun: This Pokémon is said to devour anyone daring to ravage the forest. To the creatures dwelling in the forest, it offers great kindness.
Moon: Through its roots, it exerts control over other trees. A deadly curse falls upon anyone cutting down trees in forests where Trevenant dwell.
Ultra Sun: It’s feared as a ghost of the forest. Lumberjacks bring along Fire types, which Trevenant hates, when they enter the forest.
Ultra Moon: This Pokémon controls trees via roots stretching from its feet, and it will attack anyone that dares to ravage the forest.
Sword: People fear it due to a belief that it devours any who try to cut down trees in its forest, but to the Pokémon it shares its woods with, it’s kind.
Shield: Small roots that extend from the tips of this Pokémon’s feet can tie into the trees of the forest and give Trevenant control over them.
Photodex: It’s said that if anyone tries to harm the forest, Trevenant will trap them inside a thick fog. But it’s kind to forest-dwelling Pokémon and others that it trusts.
BTB: It's a big scary ghost tree dad that protects the forest from ravagers with its arbokinesis. It loves and protects its community.

Sun: These Pokémon are stumps possessed by the spirits of children who died in the forest. Their cries sound like eerie screams.
Moon: According to legend, medicine to cure any illness can be made by plucking the green leaves on its head, brewing them, and boiling down the liquid.
Ultra Sun: By imitating the voice of a child, it causes people to get hopelessly lost deep in the forest. It’s trying to make friends with them.
Ultra Moon: An unknown spirit came to lodge in a tree stump, creating this Pokémon. A cure-all can be made from an infusion of its green leaves.

Cottonee has evolved into Whimsicott and is ready to play some pranks wherever the wind may take it. Make sure you close your windows tight on windy nights and arm yourself with knowledge from Beyond the Ball to protect yourself from a cottony fate! Follow along with the entries below:
Black: Like the wind, it can slip through any gap, no matter how small. It leaves balls of white fluff behind.
White: Riding whirlwinds, they appear. These Pokémon sneak through gaps into houses and cause all sorts of mischief.
Black & White 2: They appear along with whirlwinds. They pull pranks, such as moving furniture and leaving balls of cotton in homes.
Sun: It rides on the wind and slips into people’s homes. After it has turned a room into a cotton-filled mess, it giggles to itself and takes off.
Moon: This Pokémon appears, riding upon the wind. But if the wind gusts up, it’ll blow the cotton on this Pokémon’s head clean off.
Ultra Sun: This nuisance sneaks into people’s homes, where it hides important things and scatters cotton all over the place.
Ultra Moon: Whimsicott doesn’t live in a fixed location. It floats around on whirling winds, appearing all over the place to perform its mischief.
Sword: It scatters cotton all over the place as a prank. If it gets wet, it’ll become too heavy to move and have no choice but to answer for its mischief.
Shield: As long as this Pokémon bathes in sunlight, its cotton keeps growing. If too much cotton fluff builds up, Whimsicott tears it off and scatters it.
BTB: This little jerk will break into your house and mess up all your stuff with cotton. This pleases it, but you can make it feel bad by confronting it.

In this episode we're covering Sam Rami's hit 2002 film Spider-Man! I mean Cottonee! The Cotton Puff Pokemon! Don't worry we're totally not tired and distracted at all. Follow along with the entries below:
Black: When attacked, it escapes by shooting cotton from its body. The cotton serves as a decoy to distract the attacker.
White: They go wherever the wind takes them. On rainy days, their bodies are heavier, so they take shelter beneath big trees.
Black & White 2: Perhaps because they feel more at ease in a group, they stick to others they find. They end up looking like a cloud.
Sun: When it finds others of its kind, they all stick together. When enough of them have collected, the mass resembles a cumulonimbus cloud.
Moon: Pillows and beds stuffed with cotton exhaled by Cottonee are soft and puffy, light and airy— altogether top quality.
Ultra Sun: To protect itself, it shoots cotton from its body. When it gets wet in the rain, its cotton grows moist and heavy, and it can’t move as well.
Ultra Moon: When attacked, it expels cotton from its body to create a diversion. The cotton it loses grows back in quickly.
Sword: It shoots cotton from its body to protect itself. If it gets caught up in hurricane-strength winds, it can get sent to the other side of the Earth.
Shield: Weaving together the cotton of both Cottonee and Eldegoss produces exquisite cloth that’s highly prized by many luxury brands.
BTB: A world-traveling little puffball that generates cotton in perhaps a variety of fashions. That cotton is the real good stuff.

Beyond the Ball is 4 years old and still going strong as we talk about Mienfoo's much more impressive evolved form, Mienshao! Follow along with the entries below:
Black: It wields the fur on its arms like a whip. Its arm attacks come with such rapidity that they cannot even be seen.
White: They use the long fur on their arms as a whip to strike their opponents.
Black & White 2: Using the long fur on its arms like whips, it launches into combo attacks that, once started, no one can stop.
Ultra Sun: It overwhelms its opponents with continuous attacks and then slowly stores up power before delivering the finishing blow.
Ultra Moon: When Mienshao lets out a bizarre wail, you’re in danger. A flurry of kicks and chops too fast to see is about to be unleashed!
Sword: When Mienshao comes across a truly challenging opponent, it will lighten itself by biting off the fur on its arms.
Shield: Delivered at blinding speeds, kicks from this Pokémon can shatter massive boulders into tiny pieces.

In this episode, we talk about Pokemon's very own Kung Fu Weasel, Mienfoo! But first we cover some current events including the latest trailer for Pokemon Scarlet and Violet (just game mechanics, no new Pokemon spoilers).
Black: In fights, they dominate with onslaughts of flowing, continuous attacks. With their sharp claws, they cut enemies.
White: They have mastered elegant combos. As they concentrate, their battle moves become swifter and more precise.
Black & White 2: It takes pride in the speed at which it can use moves. What it loses in power, it makes up for in quantity.
Ultra Sun: They can often be seen in packs in the morning, slowly moving their bodies through a series of poses.
Ultra Moon: They seclude themselves in the mountains and devote themselves to training. The form of their kicks and chops differs from pack to pack.
Sword: In one minute, a well-trained Mienfoo can chop with its arms more than 100 times.
Shield: Though small, Mienfoo’s temperament is fierce. Any creature that approaches Mienfoo carelessly will be greeted with a flurry of graceful attacks.
BTB: This Tai Chi Kung Fu Master Weasel is very devoted to its art and will kick and chop you in a variety of elegant flowing never-ending combos.

After fixing our omission of Seel's scales last episode, we talk about its evolved form Dewgong! Join us as we learn just how fast it swims, how pumped it gets by cold temperatures, and where it stores its elusive thermal energy! Follow along with the entries below:
Red & Blue: Stores thermal energy in its body. Swims at a steady 8 knots even in intensely cold waters.
Yellow: Its entire body is a snowy-white. Unharmed by even intense cold, it swims powerfully in icy waters.

Silver: It loves frigid seas with ice floes. It uses its long tail to change swimming direction quickly.
Crystal: It sleeps under shallow ocean waters during the day, then looks for food at night when it’s cold
Ruby & Sapphire: DEWGONG loves to snooze on bitterly cold ice. The sight of this POKéMON sleeping on a glacier was mistakenly thought to be a mermaid by a mariner long ago.
FireRed: Its body is covered with a pure white fur. The colder the weather, the more active it becomes.
Diamond Pearl & Platinum: In snow, the pure white coat covering its body obscures it from predators.
Black & White 2: Its streamlined body has low resistance, and it swims around cold oceans at a speed of eight knots.
Ultra Sun: It swims through the ocean at a speed of eight knots, searching for Pokémon that will become its prey. It’s especially fond of Wishiwashi.
Ultra Moon: It sunbathes on the beach after meals. The rise in its body temperature helps its digestion.
BTB: Dewgong thrives on the cold and relaxes to the maxes in the sun. It eats other Pokemon.

Who's got two tusks, one tongue and an unquenchable desire for cold temperatures despite not being an ICE type Pokemon? That's right, it's Seel! Join us as we uncover just how cold Seel likes it and what that thing on its head is really made of! Follow along with the entries below:
Red & Blue: The protruding horn on its head is very hard. It is used for bashing through thick ice.
Yellow: Loves freezing cold conditions. Relishes swimming in a frigid climate of around 14F degrees.
Gold: Although it can’t walk well on land, it is a graceful swimmer. It especially loves being in frigid seas.
Silver: In daytime, it is often found asleep on the seabed in shallow waters. Its nostrils close while it swims.
Crystal: The light blue fur that covers it keeps it protected against the cold. It loves iceberg-filled oceans.
Ruby & Sapphire: SEEL hunts for prey in the frigid sea underneath sheets of ice. When it needs to breathe, it punches a hole through the ice with the sharply protruding section of its head.
FireRed: Covered with light blue fur, its hide is thick and tough. It is active in bitter cold of minus 40 degrees Fahrenheit.
Diamond Pearl & Platinum: A Pokémon that lives on icebergs. It swims in the sea using the point on its head to break up ice.
Black & White 2: The colder it gets, the better it feels. It joyfully swims around oceans so cold that they are filled with floating ice.
Ultra Sun: It has always been supposed that Seel live only in cold seas. Their having shown up in Alola is a mystery.
Ultra Moon: Thanks to its thick fat, cold seas don’t bother it at all, but it gets tired pretty easily in warm waters.
BTB: No one loves the cold like this cute water puppy. Watch out for its pointy unhorned head.

Sun: This immensely dangerous Pokémon possesses overwhelming physical strength. Its habitat is generally off-limits.
Moon: This Pokémon has the habit of hugging its companions. Many Trainers have left this world after their spines were squashed by its hug.
Ultra Sun: It waves its hands wildly in intimidation and warning. Life is over for anyone who doesn’t run away as fast as possible.
Ultra Moon: It boasts tremendous physical strength. Many people call it the most dangerous Pokémon in the Alola region.
Sword: Once it accepts you as a friend, it tries to show its affection with a hug. Letting it do that is dangerous—it could easily shatter your bones.
Shield: The moves it uses to take down its prey would make a martial artist jealous. It tucks subdued prey under its arms to carry them to its nest.
Photodex: This Pokémon has a habit of hugging just about anything. In Lental, Bewear tend to hibernate during the seasons when food is scarce.
BTB: You could train it to nonlethally hug you, but couldn't be me. It's the apex predator of Alola.

Ultra Sun: It boasts power enough to split large trees in half. The organ on its rear releases an odor that it uses to communicate with others of its kind.
Ultra Moon: Stufful hates to be hugged or touched in any way. It will squirm, thrash, and resist with amazing power.
Sword: Its fluffy fur is a delight to pet, but carelessly reaching out to touch this Pokémon could result in painful retaliation.
Shield: The way it protects itself by flailing its arms may be an adorable sight, but stay well away. This is flailing that can snap thick tree trunks.
BTB: If the fact that it hates being touched isn't enough to discourage you from petting it, you should also know that it can and will break every bone in your puny body.

We're on to bigger and better vines this episode as we discuss Tangela's evolved form, Tangrowth! More vines, more growing and less mystery! We also reminisce about Tang and take a quick dip into the Anime Corner to be reminded that Team Rocket is indeed still the best part of that show. Follow along with the entries below:
Diamond & Pearl: It ensnares prey by extending arms made of vines. Losing arms to predators does not trouble it.
Platinum: Its arms are made of plants that bind themselves to things. They grow back right away if cut.
HeartGold: When it remains still, it appears to be a large shrub. Unsuspecting prey that wander near get ensnared by its vines.
SoulSilver: Its vines grow so profusely that, in the warm season, you can’t even see its eyes.
Black & White 2: Even if one of its arms is eaten, it’s fine. The Pokémon regenerates quickly and will go right back to normal.
Sword: Tangrowth has two arms that it can extend as it pleases. Recent research has shown that these arms are, in fact, bundles of vines.
Shield: Vine growth is accelerated for Tangrowth living in warm climates. If the vines grow long, Tangrowth shortens them by tearing parts of them off.
Legends: Arceus: Draped with long vines, it resembles a shrub in appearance. It swings bundles of vines as though they were arms, wrapping them around prey to ensnare them.
Photodex: Tangrowth uses its vine arms to nimbly pluck fruit that’s just out of reach. It can also extend its arms even farther to carry itself across long distances.
BTB: It's got neverending strechy arm vine snacks. A formidable predator and prey Pokemon. No one's worried about what's in there anymore.

We'reIt's a very unnerving tickle monster but at least you can eat it. It's true identity is Tangela.s With Shoes Pokemon, Tangela! Join us as we answer the big question on everyone's mind: Who is Tangela? Follow along with the entries below:
Red & Blue: The whole body is swathed with wide vines that are similar to seaweed. Its vines shake as it walks.
Yellow: Its identity is obscured by masses of thick, blue vines. The vines are said to never stop growing.
Gold: The vines that cloak its entire body are always jiggling. They effectively unnerve its foes.
Silver: It tangles any moving thing with its vines. Their subtle shaking is ticklish if you get ensnared.
Crystal: During battle, it constantly moves the vines that cover its body in order to annoy its opponent.
Ruby & Sapphire: TANGELA’s vines snap off easily if they are grabbed. This happens without pain, allowing it to make a quick getaway. The lost vines are replaced by newly grown vines the very next day.
FireRed: Blue plant vines cloak the POKéMON’s identity in a tangled mass. It entangles anything that gets close.
Diamond & Pearl: It is shrouded by blue vines. No one has seen the face hidden behind this growth of vines.
Platinum: The blue vines shrouding its body are covered in a growth of fine hair. It is known to be ticklish.
Black & White 2: Many writhing vines cover it, so its true identity remains unknown. The blue vines grow its whole life long.
Sword: Hidden beneath a tangle of vines that grows nonstop even if the vines are torn off, this Pokémon’s true appearance remains a mystery.
Shield: The vines of a Tangela have a distinct scent. In some parts of Galar, Tangela vines are used as herbs.
Legends: Arceus: It is cloaked entirely in blue vines, preventing any glimpse of its true identity. The vines impart a refreshing sensation when chewed—they’re useful as a spice.

Staravia: Combining flock intelligence with rocket power, it is capable of propelling itself at incredible speeds. If it flies overhead, it is harder to think straight.
Staraptor: Combining flight and ferociousness, this Pokemon is not to be messed with. It is capable of flying at incredible speeds with perfect balance.
Sewaddle: It constantly excretes a sticky substance that can instantly soothe injuries. It mostly uses this ability to coat its feelers for protection.
Swadloon: It builds webs to snare its prey. It is completely silent while moving about no matter how much you might try to Listen.
Leavanny: It uses a variety of different Venoms from mild to severe. It can also spray a powerful toxin from a distance of up to 90 feet with perfect accuracy.
Carnivine: It is a typical predator that actively hunts. It captures its prey by chasing it and cutting it up with its sharp teeth.
Squirtle: This turtle Pokemon is very elusive and rarely ever comes out of hiding. It spouts water out of its shell to shower its foes with needles.
Wartortle: This water Pokemon is not just a pretty face. It can shoot out a jet of water at its enemies. It uses the scraps of stones and metal that collect in its mouth as a weapon.
Blastoise: This turtle Pokemon is incredibly strong, possibly stronger than some legendaries. It can completely destroy concrete with its bare hands.
Mega Blastoise: This Pokemon has the strength of an SUV and the speed of a MiG. It can fire a blast of water with enough force to destroy an entire building.
Gigantamax Blastoise: This Pokemon has the strength of a person combined with the height of a skyscraper. It loves water, but does not tolerate disgusting things such as dirt or different water quality.

Mega Pinsir: It can focus all of its energy in one powerful strike. It can also rapidly release thousands of punches in quick succession. It is the perfect counter to mega evolution. It stops them in their tracks. It renders them unable to fight. It is the ultimate justice.
Slugma: It is a highly intelligent fire elemental. If it sets its sights on a foe, it will never stop lighting it up until that foe is out.
Magcargo: It eats rocks and soil. The more it eats, the more explosive its body becomes. It flicks its tongue to ignite the ground and rocks around it.
Buizel: It has the ability to create small tornadoes with its punches. It can also inflame the water around it into a boiling cauldron.
Floatzel: It inhabitates the water, only coming out to attack its foe in the air. It attacks by firing a jet of water with incredible pressure behind it.
Unown: It is a being of pure energy, birthplace of the Unown Language. It can read an opponent's mind and Predict their next move.
Hoppip: It has a full arsenal of attacks at its disposal. It shoots out roots that grow and ram, it uses its leafy branches as a shield and it shoots out flower petals to confuse its foe.
Skiploom: This lovable pokemon has the ability to use several types of leaves as weapons. It uses its leaves as daggers, spears, whips and even to blind its foes.
Jumpluff: It has the ability to move through trees, and other objects, as if they were air. It can also create a Protective Cloud around itself.
Farfetch'd: It is a very cunning bird. It always has a plan, and it will use any means to fulfill that plan. If a foe dares to come near, it will peck them relentlessly until they retreat.
Galarian Farfetch'd: When it flaps its wings, they are strong enough to propel it through the air. When it runs, it can cover incredible distances. It uses this ability to set up devastating strikes.
Sirfetch'd: It is a very intelligent and strong pokemon. It hangs from the ceiling in exclusive cabins on trains and uses its powerful beak to rip the flesh from its foes.
Porygon: It can Centralize the memories and thoughts of a human being to operate super-intelligence robots. It can also Sharply Increase its brain's computing capabilities as required.
Porygon2: It can perfectly recall anything it has experienced, even things that took place in another location. It perfectly remembers the past, the present and the future.
Porygon-Z: It can perfectly access any memory or knowledge, even those that have been deeply hidden from the owner. It can also perfectly accelerate, stop and manipulate physical laws.

Sword: A Dedenne’s whiskers pick up electrical waves other Dedenne send out. These Pokémon share locations of food or electricity with one another.
Shield: Since Dedenne can’t generate much electricity on its own, it steals electricity from outlets or other electric Pokémon.
Photodex: Dedenne love electricity, so they tend to live near humans. One often comes to my lab to feed on the electricity. Speaking of which, I was pretty shocked when it erased some of my data!
Smash Bros for Wii U/3DS: This Electric- and Fairy-type Pokémon's round shape and antennae-like whiskers make it very distinctive. It has a habit of sticking its tail into sockets to absorb electricity that it fires from its whiskers. Its Discharge attack shoots off in four directions, passing through obstacles and stunning any fighters it hits along the way.
BTB: It is a scamp and it will steal your electricity for seemingly no reason. It probably uses Morse code via radio waves. Or that'd be cool I guess.

Legends: Arceus: Its sturdy, curved claws are ideal for traversing precipitous cliffs. From the tips of these claws drips a venom that infiltrates the nerves of any prey caught in Sneasel’s grasp.
BTB: It's a nasty little weasel that just can't stop oozing poison.
Sneasler
Legends: Arceus: Because of Sneasler’s virulent poison and daunting physical prowess, no other species could hope to best it on the frozen highlands. Preferring solitude, this species does not form packs.
BTB: Sneasler should be president. She's the mean girl king of Frozen High. You will be ruined.

Sneasel has evolved and grown in all sorts of ways as Weavile provides us with some delightfully detailed Pokedex entries! Beyond the Ball is eating well today! Follow along with entries below:
Diamond: They live in cold regions, forming groups of four or five that hunt prey with impressive coordination.
Pearl: It sends signals to others by carving odd patterns in frost-covered trees and ice.
Platinum: Evolution made it even more devious. It communicates by clawing signs in boulders.
HeartGold & SoulSilver: It lives in snowy regions. It carves patterns in trees with its claws as a signal to others.
Black & White 2: They communicate by clawing signs in boulders and work together to surround enemies.
Sun: They travel in groups of four or five, leaving signs for one another on trees and rocks. They bring down their prey with coordinated attacks.
Moon: They dwell in cold places. This Pokémon’s main food source in Alola is Vulpix and Sandshrew, which they carefully divide among their group.
Ultra Sun: One Weavile will trip a Sandshrew and flip it over, and then another Weavile will deal the finishing blow with its sharp claws.
Ultra Moon: Thanks to its increased intelligence, scrapping over food is a thing of the past. A scratch from its claws will give you a case of frostbite!
Sword: They attack their quarry in packs. Prey as large as Mamoswine easily fall to the teamwork of a group of Weavile.
Shield: With its claws, it leaves behind signs for its friends to find. The number of distinct signs is said to be over 500.
Legends: Arceus: This species corners prey as a pack, under the guidance of a leader. Weavile displays increased cunning, leading me to speculate that its evolution caused further brain development.
The Photodex: You probably noticed marks scratched into the tree trunks in the snowfields. Those are actually messages that Weavile leave for each other.
BTB: Weavile is wicked smaht. Its pack tactics ensure its survival in the harsh, frozen wild. Watch out, cuties!

It's time to talk about one of Braden's faves and a real cool customer, Sneasel! Join us as we discuss the Sharp Claw Pokemon, the problematic representation of Dark type Pokemon, Taggerung and more! Follow along with the entries below:
Gold: Its paws conceal sharp claws. If attacked, it suddenly extends the claws and startles its enemy.
Silver: Vicious in nature, it drives PIDGEY from their nests and feasts on the eggs that are left behind.
Crystal: This cunning POKéMON hides under the cover of darkness, waiting to attack its prey.
Ruby & Sapphire: SNEASEL scales trees by punching its hooked claws into the bark. This POKéMON seeks out unguarded nests and steals eggs for food while the parents are away.
Diamond: It feeds on eggs stolen from nests. Its sharply hooked claws rip vulnerable spots on prey.
Pearl: It is extremely vicious and will not stop attacking until its foe is incapable of moving.
Platinum: A smart and sneaky Pokémon. A pair may work together to steal eggs by having one lure the parents away.
Black & White 2: A smart and sneaky Pokémon, it makes its opponents flinch by suddenly showing the claws hidden in its paws.
Sun: It has a cunning yet savage disposition. It waits for parents to leave their nests, and then it sneaks in to steal their eggs.
Moon: It uses its claws to poke holes in eggs so it can slurp out the insides. Breeders consider it a scourge and will drive it away or eradicate it.
Ultra Sun: They will cooperate to steal eggs from the nests of bird Pokémon, but fights break out to determine which one gets to eat the eggs.
Ultra Moon: It blends into the dark of night to ambush its prey. Sneasel will attack Sandshrew, but its hard skin can cause Sneasel’s claws to snap off.
Legends: Arceus: This Pokémon shares roots with the Sneasel of Hisui, but unlike that species, this one is spiteful in personality. I hypothesize that water and earth can affect Sneasel’s mind and body.
BTB: It loves to eat eggs and it's trying its best to get them, and it could do without the judgment thank you very much.

Ash's Pokédex: Pignite, the Fire Pig Pokémon and the evolved form of Tepig. Pignite's food converts into fuel for the flame that burns in its stomach, and when fuel burns in its stomach, its speed increases.
Ash's Pokédex: Pignite, the Fire Pig Pokémon. Pignite moves faster when its internal flame becomes more intense. This also occurs when it gets angry.

Black: It can deftly dodge its foe’s attacks while shooting fireballs from its nose. It roasts berries before it eats them.
White: It blows fire through its nose. When it catches a cold, the fire becomes pitch-black smoke instead.

Photodex: Tepig can use the flames it creates inside its body to shoot fireballs out of its nose! It also has a keen sense of smell, and it’s skilled at tracking scents to search for food.
Ash's Pokédex: Tepig, the Fire Pig Pokémon. Normally, fire shoots out of Tepig's snout, but it shoots out smoke instead when it is feeling ill.
BTB: It's a precious little oinker and aspiring chef. Its tail holds a great mystery.

FireRed: A POKéMON of South America that was thought to have been extinct. It is very intelligent and learns any move.
Diamond, Pearl, Platinum: Because it can use all kinds of moves, many scientists believe MEW to be the ancestor of Pokémon.
Sword: It’s very intelligent and can use an incredible variety of moves. Many believe that all other Pokémon are descendants of this one.
Shield: This mythical Pokémon is said to be extinct, but sightings of it are still being reported to this day.
BTB: The OLD Species Pokemon, more like! It can do anything! Probably! Including being a real cutie.

It's time to take our voyage through the Pokemon world into the deep sea as we explore Finneon's evolved form, Lumineon! In this episode we learn a surprising amount about Lumineon's behaviors and place in the food chain so buckle up for some actual facts I guess? HeartGold & SoulSilver: LUMINEON swimming in the darkness of the deep sea look like stars shining in the night sky.
Sun: With its shining light, it lures its prey close. However, the light also happens to attract ferocious fish Pokémon—its natural predators.
Moon: This deep-sea Pokémon lives at the bottom of the sea. Its fins haul it over the seabed in search of its favorite food—Starmie.
Ultra Sun: Deep down at the bottom of the ocean, prey is scarce. Lumineon get into fierce disputes with Lanturn over food.
Ultra Moon: They traverse the deep waters as if crawling over the seafloor. The fantastic lights of its fins shine like stars in the night sky.
Legends: Arceus: Uses its gleaming fins to hunt its prey. The view of Lumineon schooling near the surface of the sea at night is breathtaking— it’s as though there were shining stars right there.
Photodex: Lumineon uses the fins on its chest to drag itself along the ocean floor, shuffling and sweeping sand away to reveal hiding Starmie.
BTB: This big fish just loves to eat Starmie. It crawls around on the sea floor all day looking for them.

The future of BTB is looking bright this week as we discuss our first piscine Pokemon, Finneon! Follow along with the entries below!
Diamond: After long exposure to sunlight, the patterns on its tail fins shine vividly when darkness arrives.
Pearl: The way its two tail fins flutter while it swims has earned it the nickname “BEAUTIFLY of the Sea.”
Platinum: The line running down its side can store sunlight. It shines vividly at night.
HeartGold & SoulSilver: Swimming and fluttering its two tail fins, it looks like a BEAUTIFLY. At night, the patterns on its tail fins softly shine.
Sun: It absorbs sunlight with the pink areas of its skin, which then shine. This appears to be a form of camouflage.
Moon: Its double tail fins propel its energetic jumps. When it breaks the surface of the sea, Wingull swoop down to grab it on the fly.
Ultra Sun: When night falls, their pink patterns begin to shine. They’re popular with divers, so there are resorts that feed them to keep them close.
Ultra Moon: It lures in prey with its shining tail fins. It stays near the surface during the day and moves to the depths when night falls.
Legends: Arceus: What a gorgeous sight this Pokémon is as it swims with its long, pink-painted caudal fins fluttering behind it. Finneon’s beautiful appearance has led to its nickname: “finery fish.”
Photodex: If you see the pink patterns on Finneon’s tail fins shining at night, that means it stored up plenty of sunlight during the day. Isn’t Finneon beautiful when it flutters its fins like a pair of delicate wings?
BTB: Finneon's a regular glow-in-the-dark nightlight fish. The glowing pink markings have many purposes, including camoflage and prey attraction and human charming.

FireRed and LeafGreen: It appears to have been born from clay dolls made by ancient people. It uses telekinesis to float and move.
Emerald: A CLAYDOL sleeps while hovering in midair. Its arms are separate from its body. They are kept floating by the POKéMON’s manipulation of psychic power.
Diamond, Pearl and Platinum: An ancient clay figurine that came to life as a Pokémon from exposure to a mysterious ray of light.
HeartGold and SoulSilver: It is said that it originates from clay dolls made by an ancient civilization.
Black and White 2: This mysterious Pokémon started life as an ancient clay figurine made over 20,000 years ago.
Ultra Sun: If it gets wet, its body melts. When rain starts to fall, it wraps its whole body up with its psychic powers to protect itself.
Ultra Moon: The ancient people who made it apparently modeled it after something that descended from the sky. It fires beams from both arms.
BTB: A Pokemon created from a doll which was modeled upon something. It came to life when something happened to it.

Long ago it lived in mines, but once the minerals that make up its diet became scarcer, Klefki began appearing in human settlements.

This Pokémon is constantly collecting keys. Entrust a Klefki with important keys, and the Pokémon will protect them no matter what.
Shield:
Klefki sucks in metal ions with the horn topping its head. It seems this Pokémon loves keys so much that its head needed to look like one, too.
BTB:
This metal sucking little goblin has formed an almost religious fascination with human-made keys. Give it keys because it will just steal them anyway.

In order to support its flower, which has grown larger due to Mega Evolution, its back and legs have become stronger.
Sword (Gigantamax Venusaur):
In battle, this Pokémon swings around two thick vines. If these vines slammed into a 10-story building, they could easily topple it.
Shield (Gigantamax Venusaur):
Huge amounts of pollen burst from it with the force of a volcanic eruption. Breathing in too much of the pollen can cause fainting.

We got a round birb to on our hands this episode. Or should I say heads? That's right folks, we're talking about Swablu. The true-blue, cotton-winged, bird Pokemon that just loves bein' a hat. This one's a little long as we put a lot of work in trying to make sense of some of these entries. You're welcome! Follow along with the entries below:
Ruby: SWABLU has light and fluffy wings that are like cottony clouds. This POKéMON is not frightened of people. It lands on the heads of people and sits there like a cotton-fluff hat.
Sapphire: SWABLU loves to make things clean. If it spots something dirty, it will wipe and polish it with its cottony wings. If its wings become dirty, this POKéMON finds a stream and showers itself.
FireRed and LeafGreen: It constantly grooms its cotton-like wings. It takes a shower to clean itself if it becomes dirty.
Emerald: A POKéMON that has wings like cottony clouds. After enduring winter, in which little food is available, SWABLU flocks move closer to towns in the spring.
Diamond and Pearl: Its wings are like cotton tufts. If it perches on someone’s head, it looks like a cotton hat.
Platinum: It can’t relax if it or its surroundings are not clean. It wipes off dirt with its wings.
HeartGold and SoulSilver: Its wings bring cottony clouds to mind. It grooms with springwater and loves to sit on heads.
Black and White 2: For some reason, it likes to land on people’s heads softly and act like it’s a hat.
Sword: Its cottony wings are full of air, making them light and fluffy to the touch. Swablu takes diligent care of its wings.
Shield: Since Swablu looks like a cumulus cloud, foes can have a hard time finding it. Apparently its wings turned white over many generations.

Pokemon Legends: Arceus has been out for barely a week and we just couldn't resist talking about it instead of our normal episode. This is the most fun we've had with a Pokemon game in years AND it frequently raises many of the discussion points that we regularly get into here on the show. The blue eye on the sword’s handguard is the true body of Honedge. With its old cloth, it drains people’s lives away.

There's a rather spooky tale behind this Pokémon's origins: apparently, it's an ancient sword possessed by a departed spirit. Honedge won't let anyone grip its hilt. If they try, it will attack them or wrap its sash around their arm and drain the life energy from their body! Yikes!

They adorn themselves beautifully with bones. This is supposedly an effort to attract males, but no male Mandibuzz have ever been found.

It circles in the sky, keeping a keen eye out for Pokémon in a weakened state. Its choicest food is Cubone.
Ultra Sun
It skillfully arranges the bones of its prey to construct its nest. Most of the bones are Cubone.
Ultra Moon
It’s always searching for food for Vullaby. When it finds a weak Pokémon, Mandibuzz swoops it right off to its nest.
Sword
Although it’s a bit of a ruffian, this Pokémon will take lost Vullaby under its wing and care for them till they’re ready to leave the nest.
Shield
They adorn themselves with bones. There seem to be fashion trends among them, as different bones come into and fall out of popularity.
Photodex
Those Mandibuzz in the desert aren’t just going for a leisurely flight—they’re also looking for food. Other Pokémon are always on alert so that Mandibuzz won’t steal their meals!
BTB
The smuggest Pokemon in the world, it hunts the saddest and uses its bones for fashion, nests, etc. It sucks.

The ones that gross us out quite a bit. Yes, today we are talking about the one and only depraved sicko bird baby Vullaby. Don't worry friends, it just butt armor! We also take some weird sidetracks that only we will understand and delve a little into Will's nightmares. Enjoy!

White
They tend to guard their posteriors with suitable bones they have found. They pursue weak Pokémon.

Their wings are too tiny to allow them to fly. They guard their posteriors with bones that were gathered by Mandibuzz.
Sun
It protects its plump posterior with the bones of prey it has consumed. As it grows, it replaces the bones.
Moon
It can’t fly yet and must wait until its wings have developed more. Since it’s still at a playful age, it hops around friskily.
Ultra Sun
Mandibuzz gives it the bones it wears. Vullaby’s wings are short, so it can’t fly yet, but it jumps around, dreaming of wide open skies.
Ultra Moon
Its healthy appetite leads to visible growth spurts. It often has to replace the bones it wears as its size increases.
Sword
It wears a bone to protect its rear. It often squabbles with others of its kind over particularly comfy bones.
Shield
Vullaby grow quickly. Bones that have gotten too small for older Vullaby to wear often get passed down to younger ones in the nest.
BTB
This bird lives for skull-based fashion. But really it's a dang diaper.

In the water, it tucks in its limbs to become more compact, then it wiggles its shell to swim fast.
Silver
With sharp claws, this ferocious, ancient POKéMON rips apart prey and sucks their body fluids.
Crystal
It was able to swim quickly through the water by compactly folding up its razor-sharp sickles.
Ruby and Sapphire
KABUTOPS swam underwater to hunt for its prey in ancient times. The POKéMON was apparently evolving from being a water-dweller to living on land as evident from the beginnings of change in its gills and legs.
FireRed
It swims freely through water. It catches prey with its scythe-like arms and drains the victim’s fluids.
LeafGreen
Its sleek shape is perfect for swimming. It slashes prey with its claws and drains their fluids.
Emerald
KABUTOPS once swam underwater to hunt for prey. It was apparently evolving from being a water dweller to living on land as evident from changes in its gills and legs.
Diamond, Pearl, and Platinum
It is thought that this Pokémon came onto land because its prey adapted to life on land.
Ultra Sun
Its body had begun to change so it could function on land. But it didn’t adapt in time and went extinct.
Ultra Moon
It swims at speeds of roughly 29 knots, quickly closing in on its prey and slashing into them with its scythes to finish them off.
Sword
Kabutops slices its prey apart and sucks out the fluids. The discarded body parts become food for other Pokémon.
Shield
The cause behind the extinction of this species is unknown. Kabutops were aggressive Pokémon that inhabited warm seas.
BTB
Loves those fluids. Gets them with its sword hands, but slow on the evolution uptake.
