What we do and how we carry ourselves matter. We are a lighthouse for the ones around us.
Sometimes we struggle with our faith that we have trouble to take the Lord at his word.
The Lord doesn't just want to quench our thirst, He wants to overflow our cups with his presence and blessings.
Look! I stand at the door and knock. If you hear my voice and open the door, I will come in, and we will share a meal together as friends.
- Revelation 3:20
There are moments in our lives that allow us to take our relationship with the Lord to new depths.
Living a life pleasing to God involves us drawing close to Him and allowing everything to flow from that connection.
Keep the home fires burning in this time of uncertainty. Let your hearts be guided by the Lord and focus on His word.
As we all find ourselves in this moment of waiting, let's not be passive. Allow God to do His work in our lives in this moment.
There is a hope we find in Jesus that should embolden us to live differently and with a purpose.
When the Devil is attacking our church family will you be there to help your neighbor in their time of need?
When we get knocked down, we must not hesitant to ask the Lord and our church family to help us get back up again.
God has a very special plan and purpose for each of our lives, and He works relentlessly to transform us into the image of Christ so we can fulfill that plan.
Throughout our lives we are faced with two roads. The dark road is wide and easy to travel, while the road to eternity is narrow and difficult. Which road will you choose?
We have to be intentional and deliberate about our prayer to enter into his presence. We cannot pray without having our heart in it.
"For God has not given us a spirit of fear and timidity, but of power, love, and self-discipline." - 2 Timothy 1:7
"For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life." - John 3:16
Music intertwines our lives. It can bring back a memory from our past and bring us closer to the Lord as we praise Him.
"Dear brothers and sisters, when troubles come your way, consider it an opportunity for great joy." - James 1:2
How many blessings do we forfeit because we didn't listen? Be willing to follow the Holy Spirit.
We must be willing to call out to the Lord, leave our mat behind, and follow after Him.
Stay true on what is right not only for our own salvation, but also for the salvation of those that follow us.
Everyone is faced with doubts throughout their walk with God. It is how we handle those doubts that defines our relationship with God.
We need to have an attitude of being willing to do what ever it takes to obey the word of God, even if no one else is doing it.
None of us are immune from straying from the path. It can be fatal if we turn our back on the truth and teachings of the Gospel.
When you commit yourself to God, there is a price that may come with it. He may take you down a road you were not prepared to go down, but He will always know how you get out of it and how to help you along the way.
Saying "I Do" is not the finish line. To finish well, we must center our marriage on Christ.
The greatest decision we face, that affects who we are, who we will become, and where we will spend eternity, is what we do with Jesus today.
We must strive to become holy, transforming our lives to match Jesus. We must be willing to go anywhere and do anything for God. We must consecrate to God all areas of our lives.
Prayer is not a duty that we have. It is a relationship that we have with our heavenly father.
We need to not only listen to God's word, but take action on it. Otherwise, we are only fooling ourselves.
When we are unwilling to forgive someone, the only person that we punish is our self. Forgiveness will set you free.
We are influenced by the voices around us. When the voices of the World are at their loudest, focus on God's voice to guide you.
No matter how tall the mountain or low the valley, God will be there. As long as He is there on our journey, we will be okay.
Read your Bible until you are full. Pray until you are hot. Preach it until you are empty.
Do not judge others and let your righteous pride blind you. Keep a humble heart and love each other the way Jesus loves you.
Focus on your prayer. Put your whole self into your time with God, all of your attention, your mind, your will, and your emotions focused on prayer.
God has a plan for us. We may want to reach our destination and get our blessings without any challenges, however, if we received a blessing before we are ready, it is not a blessing at all. We need to trust in the Lord to guide us through our discouragements.
We get so busy and try to do so much that we exhaust ourselves. When we are exhausted, we can no longer honor God in the way we live our lives. Only God can make our cup overflow and give our soul rest.
"So now I am giving you a new commandment: Love each other. Just as I have loved you, you should love each other." - John 13:34
Take inventory of our hearts. Do we love Jesus enough to love everyone? This is the call God has put on our lives.
The call that God puts on your life has no expiration date. Even if you run away from your call, God will be waiting for you to come back to fulfill your call.
It is time to stop running away from the Lord and to start trusting in His plan. Let the Lord light your hearts on fire again.
There are times in all of our lives that help define us and give us direction and purpose.
God's love is unconditional. No matter what we have done He still loves us and cares for us. So much He gave His only Son for us.
He is more than a good person, teacher, prophet , or miracle worker. He is the the truth, the way, and the life.
Living our lives the way we want to is not always the correct way. We need to have a relationship with God and use His word to guide us in our actions. The Bible tells us no one can come to the Father except through Jesus.
When God calls us to do something doesn't mean it is going to be an easy task to complete.
Sometimes we find ourselves asking the question, "Why does God deserve our worship?" At these times, we need to think about all of the things he has given us.
Do not let past failures stop you. Never give up, let God's grace turn your failures into victories.
At some point in our Christian walk, we must leave the shallow end of the water and jump into the deep end and have faith in Christ.
We see people offer excuses for what they do. We see compromise everywhere. We might not compromise our beliefs, but what about our character? How does that affect us spiritually?
And may you have the power to understand, as all God’s people should, how wide, how long, how high, and how deep his love is. - Ephesians 3:18
Every year our congregation submits questions for the pastoral staff to answer.
This sermon addresses some of this year's questions.
There is great need to keep the peace and unity within the church. Division leads to separation and ruin. A divided house cannot stand. It fights and destroys itself.
The Holy Spirit gives us the power and strength to step forward to accomplish things we could not on our own.
Prayer is a privilege purchased by the blood of Jesus Christ. It needs to be the most fundamental part of our life and our church.
The greatest message the world needs to know today is that Christ was sent to save us and crucified for our sins.
We must have patience. It goes against our culture, but convenience will not take us where God wants to take us.
We all have found ourselves in places or situations that we would probably rather not be. We can find encouragement by reading scripture. Today we look at the life of Jeremiah and how he kept believing even through the tough times.
The entitlement mentality that is affecting our society is robbing us of Peace, Joy, and Contentment.
"Be thankful in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you who belong to Christ Jesus."
1 Thessalonians 5:18
The call of God will intrude into your life. It will cause you to sacrifice and to give of yourself.
What do you value...Are the things in your life keeping you from humbling yourself like Jesus?
There are no stopping points. There will be plenty of reasons to stop, but none of them are good. Keep moving Don’t let anything get in the way and have no boundaries.
What does a broken heart produce in our lives?
The LORD is close to the brokenhearted; he rescues those whose spirits are crushed. (Psalm 34:18)
It’s time to stand in power. It’s time to stand in passion. It’s time to stand persistence. It’s time to stand. We must stand on the Rock. That Rock is Jesus.
If God is real to you in your life are you willing to guard your heart from becoming hard…never letting anything get between God and you.
So the question begs to be ask…If God is real to you in your life are you willing to follow…are you willing to listen…Go when He says go and heed when he says to stop.
No matter what you face or what you have to deal with……This joy is based on your relationship with Jesus.
We go through this life and then at that end of it……We are faced with what is on the other side.
