Just when we thought the NFL Conference Championship games would be the talk of the week, Tom Brady announced his retirement from football. If that wasn't enough, Brian Flores filed a lawsuit against the NFL alleging racism in hiring and firing practices around the league. Despite decades of mediocrity, the Dolphins seem to find a way to find themselves in the headlines.
The NFL Divisional Round proved to be the wildest football weekend of all time. The Miami Heat are top dogs in the Eastern Conference, but you wouldn't know that from watching ESPN.
Brian Flores is no longer the head coach of the Miami Dolphins, and we don't know what to make of the reports and rumors regarding his coaching style and relationship with players/staff. The future of the Dolphins is once again draped in uncertainty.
The Dolphins season came to a disappointing case, as is usually the case. Antonio Brown gave everyone something to talk about. The Miami Heat also brought back a legend on a 10 day contract.
The Miami Dolphins actually made us proud by beating the Baltimore Ravens on Thursday Night Football. The Heat continue their strong start, but can they keep it up all season long? We also discuss the right time to put up and take down a Christmas tree.
The Dolphins finally snap their 7 game losing streak ahead of what is very likely going to be a blowout on Thursday night. The Miami Heat lost their game against the Denver Nuggets, but they definitely would have won the brawl.
The Dolphins continue to suck, but thankfully the NBA is back to alleviate some of our misery. Kyrie Irving remains unvaccinated, and the Ben Simmons drama continues in Philly.
The title says it all. Also on the docket, Kyrie Irving is informed by the Nets that he cannot be a part of the team on a part-time basis, and DeyDey is about to become a big hockey fan.
It appears that the Dolphins suck once again. NBA season can't come soon enough. At least we have the Many Saints of Newark and Squid Games to distract us from our suffering.
Hard Seltzers are basically just fancy Olde English. We are not going to let the Dolphins fool us into thinking they are good. Kyrie Irving and other NBA players are refusing to take the vaccine.
Tailgate season is back, and it was raining pussy at Hard Rock Stadium this past weekend. Should you propose to your girlfriend after losing to Jacksonville State University?
Drake is back again with another banger in "Certified Lover Boy" and it is officially football season.
Jake Paul picked up another W in his fight against Tyron Woodley this past weekend which begs the question: is Jake Paul a legitimate boxer? Onlyfans decided they aren't going anywhere just yet, and former MVP Cam Newton is looking for a new team.
Only fans announces starting October 1st, they will be banning the content that made them big in the first place. The New Wave crew might have to do the milk crate challenge before the trend dies down.

We discuss whether the NBA Play In Tournament is a good or bad idea, as well as our thoughts on how the Heat will fair in the playoffs this year.
We crack open some Cacti and watch the first round of the 2021 NFL Draft. The rest of the league better watch out because Miami is coming.
After Nick Castellanos ejection and subsequent suspension for flexing on Jake Woodford, we discuss whether MLB would be more exciting if more players displayed this type of emotion.
The Miami Heat and Miami Dolphins have both been busy the last week. The Dolphins moved back up to number 6 overall after moving back to number 12, and will look to continue building the team through the draft. The Heat acquired Victor Oladipo and Nemanja Bjelica at the trade deadline, but will be enough to make a deep playoff push?
Drew Brees formally announced his retirement, the Miami Dolphins signed Jacoby Brissett, and the New Orleans Saints signed Taysom Hill to a deal that will make your eyes fall out of your head. In basketball, the Miami Heat have now won 11 of their last 12 and people are talking about Jimmy Butler as a possible MVP candidate.
The Miami Heat are finally back on track as we approach the halfway point of the season. JJ Watt passed up teams like the Cleveland Browns and Pittsburgh Steelers to join the Arizona Cardinals. And somehow we ended up discussing Michael Jordan's drinking habits.
The Tampa Buccaneers are Super Bowl Champions, and Tom Brady now has seven rings. We discuss whether his latest feat puts him above Michael Jordan as the GOAT of all GOATs. We also talk about whether the Heat have reached a turning point, and what they have to do to get back into the playoff picture.
The Miami Heat's early season struggles continue, as they currently sit at number 13 in the Eastern Conference. We also recap the NFL's conference championship games, and look ahead to a Super Bowl that will feature the league's GOAT QB against the possible future GOAT.
Looks like we have another super team in Brooklyn, as James Harden reunites with his old teammate Kevin Durant. We discuss what the blockbuster trade means for all teams and players involved. We also get into the Heat and their covid issues, and recap the NFL Wild Card Weekend.
Even though the Miami Dolphins missed the playoffs in heartbreaking fashion, we discuss whether the season was a success and what we hope to see from Tua and the Fins next season. The Miami Heat debuted their "Vice Versa" uniforms, and we talk about the different lineups that Erik Spoelstra has put on the floor for the Heat.
The Miami Dolphins took a tough loss against the NFL's best Kansas City Chiefs, and we discuss whether it was a loss Dolphins fans could feel good about. The Miami Heat appear to be a serious contender to land James Harden, but what are they willing to give up to make the blockbuster trade happen?
After a hiatus, we are back with our 100th episode of New Wave Sports Radio. NBA season is just around the corner, the Dolphins are looking like real playoff contenders, and a former NBA player got knocked out by a YouTuber. Needless to say, episode 100 was a fun one.
After a debut that left a lot of people debating whether or not he was ready, Tua stepped up in his second start and led the Dolphins to a big win against the Cardinals. The NBA is officially set to restart December 22nd, and the draft is next week. We also talk about how Adam Gase still has a head coaching job in the NFL (sorry Jets fans).
A new era has begun, and we are not talking about in the White House. Tua Tagovailoa is officially the Dolphins starting QB, and his performance had a lot of people talking this week. There have also been some NBA rumors about a potential start date, and even a potential trade for the Miami Heat. We wrap this episode up by reminiscing on the great toilet paper run of 2020.
This Sunday is officially Tua time, and we discuss our hopes and dreams for the Dolphins rookie QB. We also talk about some other news from around the NFL including AB signing with the Bucs, and Odell Beckham's season ending injury.
It appears to be the end of the Fitzmagic era in Miami, as rookie QB Tua Tagovailoa was named the starter this week. Victor Oladipo seems to be more interested in the Heat than they are in him, and after a crazy season the Dodgers and Rays face off in the World Series.
After an incredible bubble and postseason run, the Miami Heat were defeated by the LA Lakers in the NBA Finals. We discuss the future of the Heat, as well as our thoughts on the Dolphins after they smoked the 49ers this past Sunday.
The Miami Heat are officially back in The Finals and will be facing the Los Angeles Lakers and former Heat player, LeBron James. We discuss the Heat's journey to The Finals, and what we think their chances of winning it all are. We also discuss the Marlins making the playoffs for the first time in 17 years, the Dolphins winning their first game of the season, and the Hurricanes hot start.
Of course we have to recap that wild Game 1 of the ECF which culminated with arguably one of the best blocks of all time by Bam Adebayo. We also discuss expectations for the rest of the NBA playoffs, as well as our thoughts on the Miami Dolphins and when we think Tua should start playing.
If you haven't already, be sure to check out Ep 090 where we interview former University of Miami wide receiver Ahmmon Richards. In this episode, we discuss the Heat's playoff run so far, our expectations for the second round after they took game 1 against the Bucks, and which other matchups we are most looking forward to.
We are joined this week by former Miami Hurricanes standout wide receiver, Ahmmon Richards. Ahmmon talks to us about his time at The University of Miami, life after football, and how he started Lgndary Sports All Pro, a full service sports agency that serves talent and their families. He also shares his thoughts on the upcoming college football season, and how it is being affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.
We start of the episode with some MLB talk about the situation with Fernando Tatis Jr. and baseball's "unwritten rules", as well as different NFL team's plan for having fans in the stadiums this season. Then we get into the NBA Playoffs, as the Heat take care of business and BOTH eight seeds steal game 1. These NBA Playoffs could prove to be wild.
Things are heating up in the bubble and we will have the opportunity to see the first ever play-in game in NBA history. The Miami Marlins remain hot even after coming back from their quarantine. And a Seahawks player tried sneaking a woman into the team hotel by disguising her as another player.
For the first time in almost 5 months, we have some actual sports to talk about. The Miami Heat are doing their thing in the bubble, and the Miami Marlins have one of the best records in the MLB in August. It feels good to talk about some meaningful sporting events.
Basketball is officially back boys and girls, and we discuss what we liked from the Heat's scrimmage against the Kings this Thursday. We also share our thoughts on Dr. Fauci wearing a jersey with the number 19 while throwing out the first pitch of the MLB's opening game.
As the new NBA season draws closer and closer, we discuss some of the guys who have broken the Disney bubble, as well as some of the players' reactions to their accommodations. We also compare the protocols between the different leagues, and we slip in a little UFC talk right at the end.
Just two days after Joey Chestnut set the World Record for most hot dogs eaten in 10 minutes, Patrick Mahomes received a record breaking contract extension worth up to $503 million over 10 years. With the NBA and MLB scheduled to start back up this month, we wonder what the NFL's plans are for their upcoming season.
As much as it pains us to say it... the New England Patriots are officially back. After signing Cam Newton to a one year deal the Pats have once again become the team to beat in the AFC East. In better news, we are excited to be getting the NBA and MLB back this month, though we wonder whether these seasons should have an asterisk next to them in the record books.
On this episode we share our thoughts on all that has been going on in the world, both sports related and beyond, including the global protests that have been taking place. We also discuss some of the statements made by the biggest names in sports, including Roger Goodell, Michael Jordan, and Drew Brees, whose football career may end as abruptly as this episode did.
So it turns out Jordan lied, although that should not surprise anyone. While D-Wade is living his best life in retirement, LeBron and James Harden are looking like they need basketball ASAP (so do we).
DeVante Parker and Michael Thomas got into some internet beef, The Last Dance documentary had its Last Episode, and we can finally get haircuts again.
We are back after a couple weeks off, and we discuss Tua's new number, MJ's gambling addiction, and Dennis Rodman's 48 hours in Las Vegas.
As yet another week without sports passes us by, we desperately try to figure out when we might actually be able to watch sports again. In the meantime, we will have to settle for a bunch of Patriots fans catching giant tuna.
Week 2 in Quarantine, and we finally got good audio/visual on this episode thanks to Zoom. We talk NFL Draft, favorite types of wine, and what shows we have been binge watching to get through this crisis. Sports or no sports, we will keep the episodes coming.
For the first time ever we are recording a remote episode. We talk Brady, NFL free agency, The Draft, and when we expect things will get back to normal. Trying our best to stay home and practice social distancing while continuing to produce content. Please excuse some of the sound quality issues as we continue to figure out the best way to do this. Stay healthy and stay wavy.
Despite the cancellation of all sports due to the coronavirus, NFL free agency has given us plenty to discuss. Bill O'Brien is still making head scratching moves for the Texans, and the Dolphins are not wasting any time spending that cap money. It looks like this coronavirus situation is going to go on longer than expected, and we may soon be dedicating our episodes solely to marble racing.
Before we were aware of the NBA season being suspended, we discussed what games with no fans would look like, and what kind of impact the coronavirus would have on the NBA in general. Looks like we are going to have to find something else to talk about for the foreseeable future...
The Miami Heat are back on a roll after beating the Bucks (and now the Magic) and being the only team to beat Milwaukee twice this season. We reevaluate our expectations of them as the playoffs approach, and we discuss which teams are the biggest threat in the East. We also discuss the situation involving Spike Lee at Madison Square Garden, and break down the "he said, he said" between him and James Dolan.
Before getting into Wade's retirement, we briefly discuss the Tyson Fury vs. Deontay Wilder fight, and whether we are buying Wilder's excuses. We show some love to D-Wade before debating whether or not a 3 day retirement ceremony is "too much". We wrap up the episode by discussing the awful NBA officiating that took place over the weekend.
All-Star Weekend was a huge success, and it gave us one of the best All-Star games we have seen in a while. Bam Adebayo and Derrick Jones Jr. showed out on Saturday night and brought some hardware back to Miami, and Airplane Mode was most definitely the best dunker in the dunk contest. XFL continues its early success, and is off to a much better start than the AAF was last year.
With the XFL's successful debut this past weekend, football may have just become a year round sport. We discuss our opinions on some of the more significant rule changes, and whether we think this league has what it takes to survive long-term. We also discuss the moves made before and after the NBA trade deadline, and how we expect players will fit in with their new teams.
This week we recap Super Bowl LIV, and discuss why Patrick Mahomes did not deserve to be named Super Bowl MVP. We also get excited about the moves the Heat made before the trade deadline, and surprisingly spend a lot of time looking forward to the upcoming XFL season.
On this episode we mourn the tragic death of Kobe Bryant and his daughter Gianna, along with John, Keri, and Alyssa Altobelli, Sarah and Payton Chester, Christina Mauser, and Ara Zobayan. We recall what it was like growing up watching Kobe Bryant in the NBA, and what his legacy on and off the court means to people around the world.
We recap the games from NFL's Championship Weekend, including Raheem Mostert's historic performance that helped get the 49ers to the Super Bowl. We also talk about the Miami Heat and the rest of the NBA as we approach the All-Star break, and we even discuss whether using technology to steal signs and relay incoming pitches to batters is a worse form of cheating than steroids.
The second best Dolphins QB of all time did it again this past weekend, and we are wondering if the Titans can punch their ticket to Miami. The Miami Heat dropped 2 straight for the first time this season, but bounced back with a W against the Spurs.
Wild Card Weekend did not disappoint, and gave us a lot to discuss to kick off the new year. Tua finally declared for the NFL draft, and we debate what the Dolphins should be willing to do to draft him. The Miami Heat are still rolling, and if you are not on board at this point you are either stupid or a hater.
One last episode before we enter the New Decade. The Dolphins and Heat gave us a lot to talk about in the last weekend of 2019. See you all in 2020.
The Miami Heat remain undefeated at home, and the team is seemingly getting help from every guy on the roster night in and night out. The Dolphins almost beat the Jets without scoring a TD, but honestly we are glad they lost. The NFL playoff race is heating up, and we have some thoughts on how the Patriots season is going to play out.
In the aftermath of Myles Garret's assault of Mason Rudolph, we discuss whether or not his suspension was deserved. We also talk about Colin Kaepernick's weekend workout, as well as where Lamar Jackson is in the MVP race. On the basketball side of things, we talk about Melo making his season debut for the Trailblazers, Deyshaun gives a hot take on who he thinks the Miami Heat should make a move for, and we try to determine if Michael Jordan's liver is failing.
Less than 24 hours after the battle for QB1 between Tua Tagovailoa and Joe Burrow, the Miami Dolphins won... again. Dion Waiters managed to be the most talked about Heat player this past week, despite not playing a game yet this season.
The Dolphins finally got their first win, and we're not sure how we feel about. We are also unsure about whether they should focus on drafting a QB or possibly trading for one or going after one in free agency. One thing we are sure about, the Heat are legit, and this road trip will be a nice early test for the young team.
Minkah Fitzpatrick got his revenge game against his former team, Drew Brees and Aaron Rodgers reminded the league that they are the best in the business, and Jets fans are starting to realize they are in worse shape than the Miami Dolphins. In the NBA, the Miami Heat look like they could be contenders in the East, and Tyler Herro and Kendrick Nunn are playing like they were top 3 picks.
The Dolphins actually looked like an NFL team this past weekend, but of course still lost to the Bills 31-21. As usual, we discuss the interesting games from around the NFL, and somehow manage to compare Patrick Mahomes to Ryan Tannehill. With the start of the NBA season tomorrow, we lay out our expectations for the Miami Heat and the rest of the teams in the league. Baseball even makes a rare appearance, as we discuss who we are rooting for in the World Series.
We had some technical difficulties with this episode, so the audio for the first hour or so is not-so-great quality. The not-so-great Miami Dolphins almost got their first win of the season against the Washington Deadskins, and we discuss the mix of emotions felt as the fins failed to convert the 2PA that would have won them the game. Some of the NFL power teams looked not so great, as the Chiefs lost their second straight game and the Cowboys and Rams both lost their third straight. We wrap up the episode by debating whether we would include Tyler Herro in a trade for Bradley Beal.
The Dolphins managed to not lose by 30 points last week, as they had a bye. We discuss their upcoming matchup against the Washington Deadskins, and whether or not we actually want them to win. Baker and the Browns look like they may have a rough season after winning the offseason, and somehow Jacoby Brissett game managed his way to a victory in Arrowhead. NBA preseason is also underway, and the Miami Heat finally look good enough to compete in the Eastern Conference.
The Dolphins continue to suck a little bit less, losing by only 20 to the Chargers this week. Gardner Minshew is proving to be the quarterback Baker Mayfield aspires to be, and we can't figure out if the Bills are good.
With the NBA season kicking off this month, we also talk about the Miami Heat's media day. We pray that the Heat can bring some semblance of happiness to the South Florida sports scene.
The Dolphins stunk this past weekend, but they stunk a little bit less than the week before. With 5 winless teams remaining, who will be left standing when we conclude #TankSZN? Don't worry, we also talk about the good and interesting teams in the league.
You know basketball season is close when we start predicting how deep into the playoffs the Heat will go, and we debate which Ball brother is the best (Lonzo, LiAngelo, or LaMelo).
We try to stay optimistic and look for the silver lining in the Dolphins 43-0 loss to the Patriots before recapping the NFL drama from this past weekend, including the big QB injuries, the Minkah Fitzpatrick trade, and Antonio Brown farting in his doctor's face.
