The daily musings of a mid-level comic in St. Louis, often mixed in with a comic from the local scene.
Impolite Company host, Chris Cyr, meant to talk about multiple subjects, but got carried away talking about how he'd fix the student loan crisis, while also talking about the idiotic notion of fairness that too many people in this country cling to as the support for every argument they have about why they're better than everyone else. This episode is probably sponsored, by Adderall whether they want to or not.
Our theme music is by Lyfestile and Kenautis Smith. Check out their music on Amazon and wherever else to you listen to good stuff.

In this episode of Impolite Company, Chris reacts to completely unsurprising new from the political world this week about Joe Biden. Amazon currently has more than 500 books on SLOT MACHINE STRATEGY available for digital download. Too much information about how slot machines work. Americans don't actually value hard work, they value striking it rich. We've failed the experiment of legal pot and it's evident in how we smell. ACTUAL Ketamine, delivered directly to your home. The Twenty Four hour culture is going extinct, and nowhere is that more evident than the drive through line of your local Taco Bell. Chris offers a solution.

As spring springs, host Chris Cyr is surprised to have to be talking about war. There probably won't be a massive nuclear launch. The Sopranos make for good analogies for talking about global politics. Chris proves he owns the CIA Fact Book for the current year. If there was an attack, who'd be left in America? The GOP would ruin the plot of the movie Red Dawn by throwing a parade for the Russian invaders. Josh Hawley is still terrible and out of touch. Fat rich kids are more confident than you'd think. Do they still make mouse pads? Chris is recording an album on 3/30/2022 at Helium Comedy in St. Louis. We are a culture full of morons who buy exploding Teslas, refuse lifesaving vaccines, think eating a Kit Kat the "wrong way" is a punchable offense, and refuse to zipper merge because someone else might get somewhere 10 seconds before us. Also, Chris bought a new car and reflects on how it is impossible for car dealers to make that transaction simple.

The pandemic continues, but that doesn't stop a significant part of the internet from being outraged by Phoebe Bridgers' appearance on SNL. Impolite host, Chris Cyr, wonders what those people would do if they saw someone bite the head off of a bat? The cowardice of a former president to not show up for a battle he doesn't even have the chance of losing. Should we have had Super Bowl commercials featuring people walking around unmasked? And, why do people only pay it forward in the line of Starbucks and not in more useful places? Have fun with the latest edition of Impolite Company! On today's Impolite Company, in the course of talking about the crazy blonde congresswoman who thinks Pizzagate was real, Chris wonders if there's a way for society to objectively identify people too stupid to be allowed to have opinions, and then allow the state to intercede and make all decisions for that objectively stupid person. You know. Basically fascism. Also, Butch Bowers, attorney at law and muscle car salesman.

Chris Cyr returns for Season 4 of Impolite Company and the first episode lives up to the show's name. On the agenda are American politics and the failed right wing insurrection. He wonders why conservatives of different stripes will hug each other tightly regardless of how much they disagree, whereas liberals and progressives will re-enact the fight scene from Michal Jackson's "Beat It" video over the slightest difference. Hallmark donated $11,000 to Josh Hawley's election campaign. And, people who started relationships and moved in together before the pandemic hit might be the true heroes of 2020.
As always, a million other topics on tens of other tangents. Happy new year, it's Impolite Company.

No cute line from a poem today. The first in a series featuring our new segment, "Who's F@*%ing?" Chris interviews Ellen Doyle, a traveling comic who's sheltering in Pennsylvania. The two discuss everything from dating apps, to the best review Ellen's ever received from an audience member. Also, CSI: Madea. Enjoy this new episode of Impolite Company.
Ellen Doyle is the favorite child of two fifth generation coal miners. She was famously the fourth heterosexual to graduate from her all girls college, but has so far been unable to produce genetic proof of her love for reproductive sex due to black magic. She moved to the west coast to pursue her lifelong dream of creating reality television but has been forced into a life of stand up comedy due to the fact that everyone just watches Netflix now. Ellen has been known to being nice to animals and children (in that order) and dreams of doing comedy for poor kids in no kill shelters.
So far she has had to settle for performing at the SLO Comedy Festival, The World Series of Comedy, The North Carolina Comedy Festival, Sno Jam Comedy Festival, Mutiny Radio Comedy Festival, The Paul Bunyan Comedy Festival and the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in Scotland. She tours the United states in a leased 2018 Kia Sorento that is well over its miles. She has been featured at clubs, breweries, coffee shops and public restrooms across America's heartland. She owns a dog named "Ghost". Ghost was featured on animal planets "Rescue Dog to Super Dog".
Ellen has no on camera credits. Dog:1 Owner: 0

You can catch Sam at Helium Comedy Club 7/14, and Kate at Kingside After Dark (7/5), New Comic, Who Dis (7/11) and Impolite Company's WAL takeover at Southtown Pub(7.25).
7th Heaven is still perplexing. Netflix is still just putting out whatever the hell they want. And Sam is still talkin bout it. Come to Yours, Mine, and Ours Thursday at The Heavy Anchor, 8PM.
THIS IS NOT A SPORTS SHOW.
Except this week it is. Ron Finger joins Yale in the studio to let go of 96 combined years of angst about the St Louis Blues. We've got exultations, analysis, probing ethical questions and the formula for foolproof barbecue ribs. All this plus a loaded lineup of local comedy shows. As loaded as Brett Hull? Perhaps not, but damn close.
Chris makes the case for moving New Year's Day to the summer. He rants about a lot of stuff. The late night crowd at his show this weekend hated him, which was awesome. One more call for a revolution.
You thought the Blues winning the Stanley Cup was special, but the real miracle will be if Sam acts like an adult and goes to the dentist for his toothache. Tune in for the second part of that lost nonsensical interview with Lucas Hinderliter, complete with a No Limit Records dining experience.
Chris is on the road today, so there's not a regular episode. He did fire up the ol' remote studio (a.k.a. The Samsung Galaxy S 8) and give you his two favorite street jokes in observance of Comedy Contest Season!
Take a trip back in time to 2 months ago, and listen to Sam and fellow comic Lucas Hinderliter discuss their comedy and their youth. See Sam at Westport Plaza tonight as the preliminary rounds of the Funny Bone Comedy Competition continue, and catch him at Southtown Pub for We Are Live's Free Comedy.
As he does each June, Yale shares Tom Junod's humorous, poignant and - yes - useful story "My Father's Fashion Tips" via a quasi-dramatic reading. Bask in its magnificence and let it carry you through the next two weeks, which is our way of saying Yale won't have a show next week. The comedy rundown is also here with plenty of suggestions as to how to spend your idle time in wake of next week's vacancy.
Your Podcast Dad(TM) takes some time out to chat about all the great things going on in St. Louis comedy and explains/atones for the reason why last week's show was scrapped. A new feature makes its magnificent debut and we close with the weekly independent comedy roundup.
Chris gives away three million dollar ideas on today's episode. The best of which is a new children's series featuring the remaining members of the Wu Tang Clan. He recounts his memorial day weekend, and complains about a car that needs to be retired.
Welcome to Impolite Company.

Check her out Wednesday at The Heavy Anchor for Sorry, Please Continue and Thursday at Southtown Pub for We Are Live.
Sam is shellshocked by the ending of Game of Thrones this week, so he's offering you some lighter alternatives in TV Land: including a show about a town of high schoolers who get thrown into their own personal Lord of the Flies, complete with teen pregnancy and homicide.

Podcaster, baking mogul, former/future(?) comedian and LA transplant Megan Rice joins her only (current) St. Louis friend Yale in the studio to chat about her years on the LA comedy scene, her adjustment to full-time residency in St. Louis, savory hand pies and more! She also makes a respectable showing on the "how St. Louis are you" quiz. Yale gets you caught up on all the local comedy action as well as next week's packed lineup of shows.
Back from his trip to New York, Chris catches up with the audience, discusses NYC, Game of Thrones, Avengers, Illinois's recreational marijuana effort, and wants to know "Are we recording?"

Come to Dark Roast Comedy in Edwardsville on April 27. Love a little more.
Comedian, playwright, performance artist and podcaster Mollie Amburgey casually drops by the studio to talk about the 5 C's - Comedy, Coffee Cups and Cincinnati Chili. Suffering the ill effects of hot dog hangover, unconventional biker chick Amber Klear joins Yale for a deep dive into the business of comedy, the ability of toxic people to cause blood clots in the brain, naughty nurses, and more. Yale admits to being a literal slave to fashion. An extended comedy rundown debuts and its anyone's guess where Executive Producer Chris Cyr drops the music.
Editor's Note: We really resisted the urge to drop the intro music into 37 different places. Someone give us points.
Chris is under siege from a pigeon who's nesting on his front porch. Will he survive this aggression? Who knows? Exploding soup cans, weird house selling superstitions, and other topics all get blown off so he can spend more time on the bird.

Casey Paulsen's back in the booth with Sam for this week's episode. They talk a lot about Lindsay Lohan and Frankie Muniz. Did you know Frankie Muniz and Hillary Duff were costars in Secret Agent Cody Banks? Did you know Frankie also played Hillary's love interest in an episode of Lizzie McGuire? What would an Andrew Dice Clay-themed Mexican restaurant be called? Who are the previous cohosts of Boondoggle? Listen up!
Comedian, showrunner, weasel wrangler and malamute time-sharer Christian Lawrence is our guest this week. Listen in as he and Yale chat about Bare Knuckle Comedy, History Shmistory and Boob Gun. You'll also learn about how British pubs got their names, get a recap on Yale's fortuitous comedy weekend and, of course, hear the weekly rundown of upcoming comedy shows.
Chris sings most of today's episode. We don't mean that he sings on today's show, we mean he SINGS THE DAMN SHOW. He assures us there were no drugs involved. Most of the show involves, Joe Biden, and how "Biden: The Musical" is not going to be made. He didn't mean for that to happen, but it did. We also briefly discussed new superhero trailers, but somehow made it back to Biden.
The hour went by really fast. That's Impolite Company for you.
We all knew it was coming eventually. And now the end is here. Sam's done with the jokes, tired of the punchlines, and he ain't got time for callbacks! Come see his final shows: Comedy in the Loo-April 12-San Loo; Tax Free Comedy- April 13-Wilbert's in Cleveland; Yours, Mine, and Ours- April 17- The Heavy Anchor; No Mic Stand-April 19-message for info. We shall never hear his laughs again.
Ron Finger joins Yale for this week's Impolite Coffee Break. Ron has things to say about the PG-13 standard and provides a brief history of the 80s sitcom "Webster" before addressing the Indian Missile Crisis and the Better Together proposal for the reunification of St. Louis City and County. Cheese curds are also mentioned.
Do you have a "Go Bag?" What is the weird thing people are going to find when you die, a coffee can full of your fingernail clippings? R.I.P. coffee cans, in this age of plastic. Donald trump has an army of meth heads to protect him if he loses the next election. Sam Elliot.
It's time for Impolite Company!
It's an abbreviated show today since Chris overslept. But, it's a perfect time to let you know about the recent change at Chris's local doughnut shop. The Mueller report is completed, and even though no one's read it, everyone's sure it supports their argument. Chris worries that the secret service will misinterpret his intentions.
Sam's sorry about taking the week off. To make it up to you, this episode has a warning about a Netflix movie you don't want to see. "Us" made $70 Million in its opening weekend. "On My Block" Season 2 drops this weekend. Yours, Mine, and Ours has come home to The Heavy Anchor. Now somebody please plan a float trip for Sam.
Impolite Coffee Break returns to weekly installments from its new home in the Mid Coast Media (not Aviation) studio. Yale, who only recently recovered his voice, laments the loss of "Crashing" and "I'm Dying Up Here." Two local shows near and dear to the Impolite Coffee Break comedy empire are recapped. Yale previews next week's live standup offerings.
Chris Cyr wonders why liberals are starting to eat at ChicFillA again. For that matter, why are they spending money on fish fries at churches across the country? Also, a completely made up survey about the end of the world.
Did you know that public transportation runs late as part of an organized conspiracy to increase the rate of fatal pneumonia in poor people? We did.
Chris Cyr informs you on today's Impolite Company!
Chris describes his experience with a sensory deprivation tank, wonders why his bank doesn't accept cash half the time, Panda Express people are loud, and how did we survive Facebook being down?

It's a new studio. New equipment. Same Chris.
Chris gives a solution for the emerging marijuana dispensary industry, where banks are reluctant to open accounts for the new business. Chris tells you the basics of money laundering. The real purpose of the puzzles boxes from Hellraiser is way dirtier than you thought. Patchouli should go away. And what's up with Blood Alley?
It's a brand new Impolite Company!
Sam recounts a tale as old as time- a boy's first experience being whitesplained at a Kids Jeopardy audition. We find out Wiz Khalifa and Amber Rose's son has a strong love for all things T-Swizzle, and we've got a new sponsor! Welcome King Edward's Chicken and Fish to the Impolite Family. Catch Sam on the Impolite Company showcase March 15 at The Crack Fox, and Yours, Mine and Ours returns March 21 at The Heavy Anchor.

Catch Justin at The Monocle this Saturday featuring for Ben Kronberg, and get $5 off tickets when you buy them here with the code "Luke". Enjoy the episode!
Sam takes suggested topics from his Facebook friends to deliver a lot of contested hot takes. Do vampires carry the AIDS virus? Is Amelia Badelia responsible for her actions? Is baseball good? Did Sam spell Amelia Badelia correctly? Challenge him at Helium Comedy Club 2/28 for The Dirty Show and 3/2 for Late Night Dip.
Wind-Down Friday emerges from its chrysalis and takes to the skies as IMPOLITE COFFEE BREAK. Yale is back. Analicia is not - yet - but she will be back. We promise. Get caught up on all that’s been on Yale’s mind since last we met, and, of course, the comedy rundown.
All we're saying is that if you're a dude and your buddy says "Hey, check this out!" you let him send you a pic. Also, who, other than everyone, John Wayne was a racist homophobe? Toilet bowls full of foam. Snowstorms that may or may not come. And of course, a rant about social media.
It's a full menu from Impolite Company!
Doesn't President's Day seem kind of like a ripoff for George Washington? Mrs. Doubtfire had a very obvious way out of her predicament with the birthday dinner. Nickelodeon was tyrants for their "Get Out and Play" campaign. All this and more on The Lyons Den
Yeah, we don't even know where to begin. A recent gig in rural Illinois has Chris concerned about vampires and cannibals. He has tips for both.
It's a weird episode of Impolite Company!
Casey Paulsen joins Sam in the studio for a couple beers and a no-nonsense education on OJ Simpson and The Notebook. Casey knows how to make the masses laugh. But does he know other things? Let's find out!
Chris is certain he's a city kid through and through. He recounts a time his car was broken into and reveals that he's much more efficient at breaking into cars, but doesn't explain how he knows that.
It's a deep dive on today's Impolite Company.
We're not sure if Chris is ranting about Donald Trump and keeps getting distracted by Liam Neeson, or if he's ranting about Liam Neeson and keeps getting distracted by Donald Trump. But, we can all agree that it'd have been a different week if Liam had made his confession to Oprah, instead of to the Independent.
Strap one on for today's Impolite Company!
5 years ago today, a young man got on a stage in Oxford, MS and tried stand-up comedy for the first time. That young man was Sam Lyons. On this, the wooden anniversary, Sam tells the story of how he was inspired to try comedy, and reflects a bit on where he's taken him. He also provides the rundown of his 5 must-watch Nicholas Cage and Arnold Schwarzenegger movies, and at the end of the episode, you can hear his first set in entirety! The Patriots won the Super Bowl, and life will go on.
Enjoy as you step into The Lyons Den
It's been a year! Chris discusses personal and creative growth, and tells a few jokes he wrote in his first year of comedy. The new DCU shows are fun. Also, if you purposefully use the wrong pronoun to address a person, you're an a-hole. That's a pretty non-controversial opinion he pretends is a hot take. Don't be an a-hole.
It's Impolite Company!
The government lives...for now. Black Panther took home 7 nominations. Who's going to watch Game of Thrones for the 6th time now that Sam's going back to work?! Welcome to The Lyons Den.
The government shut down is over and Chris wonders if this is the type of negotiating we can expect from the POTUS when he protects US interests with North Korea. Also, don't use duct tape for sex play, addresses the "why are you politicial?" question, and DON'T DUMP OUT COFFEE!!! For Christ's sake people, it's coffee.
Warning: Today's episode was recorded in the car, on the highway, Tuesday night. We meant to post it late that night, but time, man...time.
Chris cusses too much and apologizes for it. He discusses current events ranging from bratty white kids in red hats to the government shut down. Also, why you're the problem with True Detective season 2.
It's Impolite Company!
A veritable buffet of American exceptionalism was bestowed upon the Clemson Tigers yesterday. Let's talk about it. Also, it snowed in St. Louis. Need learn furniture?
What would you highlight in your teen bible? Sam and Meredith are moving their show to a new venue, so she joins him on air to talk upcoming shows, Groundhog Day, and why you should ignore other people's conversations when getting Chinese food. And we finally have an intro!
DON'T BELIEVE THE HYPE! Conspiracy theories abound on this episode of Wind-Down Friday. How can there be a winter storm warning when the National Weather Service is operating off a laptop in an Oklahoma City Starbucks? How can China put a potato on the dark side of the moon but not in a PF Chang's? Why does Analicia's energy drink taste like lettuce? Why do people believe there's an Arch downtown? All this plus the weekly comedy rundown and more!
Chris lists a number of things you could have done last night instead of watching Donald Trump's speech. It's a long list. The plural of "moose" is "moose." Right? The Chrysler Building is for sale.
Chris spends a lot of time talking about flat tires, which somehow still brings up the subjects of donuts. Do people pick up escorts at the front door? Does the government shutdown mean we can act crazy on mass transit now? And it's interesting that Trump didn't try making his little speech during the national championship game last night.
Also, he's not even allowed to commit murder. So, relax.
2018 was a lot of ups and downs for Sam, but he focuses on the ups, and talks about some of his favorite moments. He's also been binging Dexter. Convict R. Kelly.
Yale and Analicia's recap of their New Year's doings gets derailed by a compare-and-contrast deconstruction of the epic works of two deceased lite-rock stars. Yale ran the Joes. Analicia threw axes at the Gatsby mansion of St. Louis. New mics! A Royal Rumble! The comedy roundup! A new-new theme song and more!
Chris discusses the news that the Chinese government launched a lunar rover on the far side of the Earth's moon. Completely ignoring recent achievements by the U.S. space program, Chris angrily screams into the abyss about why we don't have an Auntie Anne's Pretzels at Lagrange 5 to serve colonists on their way to new worlds.
It's a new year, but what does that really mean? How we measure time is a construct created by men who wanted a way to chart their moment by moment progress towards their graves. Also, don't hijack trains.
We swear it all ties together, maybe. Enjoy today's Impolite Company!
Mamalicia, Little Jan-Jan, Mrs. K - whatever you choose to call her - Analocia's mom Janet Kocher is in the studio! We talk about how we spent our Christmases. Analicia discusses her journey to a truck stop in Troy, IL and her VIP tour of the Truckers' Lounge. She also shares a controversial film review. Yale recommends a podcast. Mamalicia recaps her extended birthday bonanza. All this plus the stand up and improv rundown!
Analicia runs late. Yale accidentally leaves his coffee at home. Scheduled guest Meredith Hopping calls in sick. Against all odds the show goes on with final holiday thoughts, a recap of recent comedic exploits, a new twist on Tiny House Hunters and more!
Chris bemoans the fact that it doesn't feel like Christmas, gives advice to long haul drivers tempted to buy imitation amphetamines, makes a suggestion about international nuclear proliferation that may be illegal, and more!
Sam and Brendan are back at it with the movie recaps. They stray off topic, a lot, but it's always interesting.
Sam's never seen the Matrix, and Brendan refers to Vin Diesel exclusively as "that bald guy". Things get heated when Sam questions Brendan's commitment to whipped cream. How are they both still single?
Go see a show this week.
Ron Finger makes a triumphant return. Analicia makes a fashionable arrival. Yale is still not feeling the holidays. Book talk! Podcast chatter! Ron sings the Blues! It's all right here!
Chris gives you advice for your annual performance review, surviving toxic holiday culture in your corporate job, and if you're going to be an axe murderer, choose your victims wisely.
Die Hard is a Christmas Movie.
Sam and fellow comic/new roomie/apparent boat captain, Brendan Olson, watched a gawd awful movie so you wouldn’t have to. But their review was almost as long as the run-time, so who are the real losers? Stop using aerosol cans. #OceansRising #RatingsFalling #ClimateChangeIsReal
Analicia runs late. Yale's not quite feeling the holidays...yet. The two share harrowing tales from the stage. Winter treats are rated and reviewed. Analicia gets a bit too attached to a borrowed vase. All this and more, including the independent comedy rundown!
Chris can't handle the Salvation Army bell ringers who block the ingress to every retail establishment he wants to go to this time of year. He spends a good part of the episode airing his grievances.
George H.W. Bush died this week. The general feeling ranges from "SAD" to "MEH". Chris points out that no president gets into heaven, and the Prince always had more power than the sitting president.
It's national cookie day. Eff cookies.
This week, Sam sat down with local comic Joe Murray to discuss his new showcases. Later on, he joins Pat Ryan for his one Christmas tradition, and they get off topic. A lot.
#HolidaySeason
Yale has had it with the volume of complaints about "premature" holiday music. Analicia confesses her jelly donut addiction. The pair rehash their post-Turkey Day exploits. Yale presents a mini-editorial for no valid reason, just so he can make a stupid punch line. The two talk Route 66 and its role in Analicia's
family history. All this plus the weekly comedy rundown!
Chris gives a different take on Christmas classics like Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer, Frosty the Snowman, and How The Grinch Stole Christmas. He also made the mistake of listening to Christmas music on the way into the studio this morning.
Chris knows he needs a commercial, but isn't sure about what format to use. He makes sure you know how to celebrate the first Wednesday after Thanksgiving, more commonly known as Broke Wednesday. Chris also worries that he may get food poisoning.
Chris discusses the unavoidable problem of pie, the lessons of Creed 2, Christmas Trees, and kids.
Get back into the swing of things with today's Impolite Company.
Janet “Mamalicia” Kocher joins daughter Analicia in the studio for a rollicking, Yale-free show. Revel in tales of Thanksgiving in the casino, accounts of working the mic in the principal’s office of a Jefferson County educational institution, a heartstrings-pulling Comedy Rundown and so much Manilow.
Exclusively for the internet, Chris hides in a bathroom and record and records a special episode for the Thanksgiving holiday. Don't play Hallelujah on bar jukeboxes. What are you thankful for? Pie! And a lost tribe knows how to handle Jehovah's Witnesses.
Wind-Down Friday welcomes a new sponsor just in time for the holiday ice cream and coffee season. Our co-hosts explain how the wondrous Thanksgivings of their youth have transitioned over the years into a holiday spent in a casino and/or a drunken stupor. Yale agrees to lend his Black Friday seat to Analicia’s mom. Analicia makes a horrifying revelation with a happy ending. All this plus the independent comedy rundown!
Cold weather usually means that cuffing season is upon us. For Sam and guest Justin Luke, it's the official start of Sad Neighbor Season, and you can't survive these next few months without some emotional bangerz on your playlist. They also talk the success of the second annual Flyover Comedy Festival, and weather Cam'ron violated when he played a Puerto Rican in 'Paid In Full'. Book Justin on your shows, or give him a job.
Comedian and Christmas aficionado (Christmianado) Angela Smith joins Analicia and Yale to discuss her carefully strategized and curated holiday rituals, the magic of Hallmark Christmas movies, her random, purely contrarian distaste for soccer and her part in the kickoff to this year's Flyover Comedy Festival. Yale finds a literary avenue to plugging a sponsor. Analicia finds a gardening tool to be disturbingly hilarious All this plus the announcement of two holiday comedy spectaculars and, of course, the Flyover and Independent Comedy Rundown.
Cold bubbly water poured into your crotch will wake you up quite well. Chris shares this and other secrets. He also wants to know, what the hell is wrong with you, Missouri?
Sam kills Chris again, and takes over the show. Yolanda MizzUnderstood Brown (yes, say the whole thing) joins him to talk Walking Dead, Game of Thrones, and cuffing season. Catch her being sued by her son on Judge Mathis Thursday at 3pm on ABC.
Chris has election advice for Missouri voters. Mostly, that advice is to not let Josh Hawley make it to the U.S. Senate. Seriously, Josh Hawley looks like he'd fuck cancer victims, in every sense of the word. Don't vote for him.
It's all we talk about today. Go vote. Unless you're going to vote for Josh Hawley. In that case, wait until tomorrow.
Seriously. Don't fucking vote for that guy.
Also, demons. We talk about demons, and rituals, and food, maybe? It got a little hazy at one point. Chris mispronounced Gillespie and Peyton cracked up.
Hawley can text in an opposing opinion if he wants. We dare him.
On this special Monday/Black Friday edition of Impolite Company's Wind-Down Friday, Yale defends holiday music in November, embraces his role as The Woke Curmudgeon and gives us a preview of the first night of the Flyover Comedy Festival's stand-up and sketch offerings. Analicia vigorously but cheerfully urges restraint on pre-Thanksgiving holiday tunes, and challenges Yale to a game of Shakespeare trivia. Meanwhile, Lyons Den host Sam Lyons texts in to furtively defend the honor of his time slot.
One night in August, Chris went to a party. The party kept going until it night became morning. The show doesn't stop just because of whiskey.
This is a cautionary tale. If you consume too much of the devil's party water, you're going to say some questionable things. Especially concerning the series finale of MAS*H.
So anyway, here's the episode that was "lost" to the general public.
It's time to Wind Down in The Lyons Den as Sam fills in for Yale today.
Join us for an hour of sound effects, childhood tales and awkward flirts between Wind Down Friday co-host Analica Kocher and The Lyons Den host Sam Lyons. Don't forget to vote!
Chris is doped up on cold medicine and can't be held responsible for how tired he sounds, or for anything he says. He's taken so much cold medicine, that he can't remember what he talked about as he writes this description two days late. He thinks he said, "I don't know, man. I don't have any answers." a lot.
Yeah. He knows he recorded the outro twice and messed up the outro music. Did you miss the part where he took Nyquil instead of Dayquil? He wasn't in the studio where Peyton could do things better.
It's Halloween! Draw your pentagrams, like your black candles, put on your robes, and place an Almond Joy in the center of the summoning circle for our Dark Lord to snack on after he appears. Chris has thoughts on this day. Let's see if he survives this episode of Impolite Company!
Chris discusses why drunk people shouldn't talk to the musician on stage. There's a discussion about weddings, why the government won't let you have a pokemon, and other topics. It's a fun ride on today's Impolite Company.
Happy Monday? We guess? It will be once you step into The Lyons Den
Sam spends the top of the hour alone with his thoughts, always an interesting journey. Richy James stops by to promote his new open mic. Catch it every first Friday at Artist Art. Doors at 7:30, show 8:15, $5 entry. Performers enter free with advance notice. Don’t forget to vote November 6.
Yale impatiently awaits Analicia's arrival by taking on a beloved American sandwich institution. Once reunited, the pair talk improv, the storytelling show that brought them together and the mystery of Norbert and Anne. Halloween is debated, comedy and improv schedules are revealed, important questions are left unanswered!
Yesterday, a bunch of suspicious packages were mailed to the offices of various people and institutions referred to as "enemies of the people" and other insults by the President of the United States. That was bad.
Today one of those packages was received by Robert De Niro. Chris lets these terrorists, whoever they are, Al Queda or Al Smith, know that they've gone too far.
Chris did not win the big ass lottery drawing last night. He didn't even buy a ticket. But he has a plan to get rich anyway.
Unrelated fact: Did you know that it's practically impossible to prosecute 100 people for the same murder?
Other unrelated fact: Do you know that $1.7 billion divided by 100 is still a really big number?
Just kidding...
Chris talks about horror movies and relates them to the real world. The kind of people who live in Newtown, would definitely build their homes on a cursed cemetery. Possessed children just need to be punched in the face. Send Seal Team 6 after Michael Meyers. There a smorgasbord of information.
SLPS candidate Adam Layne joins Sam in The Lyons Den. They talk public education, college prep, and candy corn. Find the candidates here, review their platforms, and go vote on November 6! It's what Diddy would do
Analicia tells a harrowing tale of a recent condiment crisis and also bolsters her street cred as a magnet for armed robbery. Yale launches another Quixotic pursuit of a major league sports team for Our Town and somehow winds up riffing on animal entrails as a soothsaying device. Boob Guns, Coffee Talk, Cremated deer - it's all here!
On today's Impolite Company, Chris discusses his disappointment in finding a seed in a Clementine this morning. He also thinks your kids would learn more from watching The Devil's Rejects than they'll learn from Chronicles of Narnia. Did your kid go Eli Roth on a bully? Then this episode is for you.
Proud To Be An American is a terrible song. It's even worse when sung by drunk white people at a karaoke bar. Lee Greenwood is a chump.
It's impolite Company with Chris Cyr.
Local talent Meredith Hopping joins Sam in the Lyons Den to promote their monthly and weekly shows. They dive into the flaws of a recent Supreme Court of Canada decision and whether racial profiling kept a resident out of his own home. Also, it's picture day!
Catch Sam and Meredith this Thursday at Gezellig for Yours Mine and Ours, and Saturday at the Improv Shop for Late Night Live!
Meredith tries to imitate a lion.
Friday's the brightest day of the week in the Impolite bunker. Chris stays in bed while Yale Hollander and Analicia Kocher get you ready for a weekend that doesn't include constantly considering your mortality.
Today, Yale comes in full support of St. Louis getting a Major League Soccer Team, he and Analicia talk sandwiches and cheese fries, and Ron Finger breaks a story about possible fraud in the karate industry that makes you forget about questionable sushi. All the while, the three of them give you a rundown of what to expect in St. Louis Comedy.
It's Wind Down Friday!
Chris doesn't think Branson needs state money to promote tourism. The governor needs to up his grammar game. Are we done with problematic material in general? Free speech is boring.
Today's guest on Impolite Company is St. Louis comic, Lance Cane. Chris and Lance talk about comedy, playing in a band, and other topics. Lance has seen a ghost.
It's Friday, that means it's time for Yale Hollander to check in with the St. Louis Independent Comedy Scene!
Analicia returns from New York and settles right into her new role as co-host. Matt Martin of Compass Improv Festival joins in the fun and talks about St. Louis's upcoming celebration of all things improv. A good time is had by all.
We're moving the Wind Down's feed into the Impolite Company main stream. So, Monday through Friday's episodes will all be in one place for you
Enough about bagels. Chris helps you choose the right donut order and tells you what your donut choices say about you. The jackbooted thugs of the New World Order make an appearance.
Enjoy today's Impolite Company!
It's Monday morning, so it's time to enter the Lyons Den with Sam Lyons. Sam breaks down the Columbus situation and is joined in the second half by St. Louis comic, John Green.
Put us in your ear!
Chris sits down with Susan Bennet, the photographer entrusted with making him look damned good in all of his headshots. They discuss selfies, photography as an art, why you are NOT a photographer regardless of your IG followers, and other topics.
Check out Ooh St. Lou Studios on the web!
Website: http://oohstloustudios.com/
The science of selfies: http://oohstloustudios.com/the-science-of-the-selfie-no-you-dont-really-look-like-that
It's October! Chris is going to talk about horror movies. Today, he talks more about the time he was convinced he was the anti-Christ after his dad let him watch The Omen. Brett Kavanaugh is a (our legal department demands we add the word "probably" here) a rapist. Chris emceed an Oktoberfest even and recaps his weekend at The Funny Bone in St. Louis.
He also outlines the perfect dozen bagels to order for your office food day!
He's not dead.
Season 2 of Impolite Company kicks off with a programming change.
Every Monday, Sam Lyons will welcome you to a new week, with The Lyons Den. Today, he introduces himself, tells you about Demi Lovato, and gives you a rundown of what you can expect from him in the future. He's also apparently qualified to track down serial killers. Who knew?
Chris is not dead.
It's the final night of his vacation and instead of finishing his packing, Chris is recording an episode for you. That's how much he loves you. Don't you ever question it.
Chris addresses concerns people express over the dangerous nature of Mexico, the complications of packing in the era of tiny underwear, TSA Prepass, vacations in general, Verizon (again), and John McCain.
He's back in the studio tomorrow. Dig in!
Still on the roof of his AirBnB in San Miguel de Allende, Chris dispatches another episode from his Mexican adventure. He talks about PETA's approach to Animal Crackers, Verizon's culpability in the deaths of people during emergencies, Olive Garden, Starbucks, and a chicken dinner. It's weird.
Chris is sitting on the roof of his Air BnB in San Miguel de Allende recording today's episode. He' obsessed with the Jacuzzi tub on this roof, and wonders if that's enough to keep him from returning to St. Louis. He thinks back on some of the characters that made up the local flavor of South St. Louis City when he was a child. He discusses the proper way to help animals. And, he has advice for a group of brewery employees in town for training, and who he's been told have invaded one of his favorite bars.
Don't miss Chris at LouFest this year.
Chris checks in from vacation, now that he isn't at the mercy of Verizon's data plan for uploading content. He talks about Anthony Bourdain, the need for most Americans to get out of their comfort zone, food poisoning, what might possibly be credit fraud (disclaimer: Chris is not a lawyer, and he drinks a lot. Please don't follow his advice on most things.), a wonders if his tattoos count as cultural appropriation.
Saturday morning, Chris woke up with a craving for French toast sticks. So clearly, the only solution was to call up Bare Knuckle Comedy writer, Jamie Krock and Susan Bennet of Ooh St. Lou Studios, pile in the car, and drive three hours to Henderson, Kentucky, the town that houses the Shoney's nearest St. Louis.
Get a plate of food, sit back, and listen to a fun breakfast table conversation.
Chris wonders why the woman at McDonald's quit mid-order. Listeners give some of their worst work experiences.
For a lot of kids, school's out for the summer. Chris remembers the last day of school, getting your yearbook signed, fighting in the streets, swimming pools...
It's your basic summer vacation themed coming of age film. Also, disease vectors.
Today's guest is Shannon Yarbrough. Shannon is a regular at the Funny Bone and Hey Guys Comedy. He's a funny comic and hosts a new monthly show in St. Charles, but what's really important is that he is the author of Dickenstein, a novel that mashes up the life of poet Emily Dickenson with the story of Frankenstein.tent from my channel!
