The Derby City Classic, organized by the Kentucky Chess Ambassadors is a regional tournament, All chess athletes and teams are urged to come out for this historic event! It takes place at the Broadway Theater, 1836 East Broadway. Contact urbanlouisvillechess@yahoo.com if you are to register or receive a flyer. The entry fee for all sections is ten dollars. This is a cash prize tournament, 3 rounds, G/25. We are blessed to have Chess Expert Rochelle Ballantyne making an appearance! She will do a workshop and play G/3 blitz (five dollars per....the money raised benefits the West Louisville Chess Club).
It takes place March 18, Saturday, 4:45 pm at the California Community Center, 1600 West St. Catherine street, Louisville, KY. No entry fee. Affordable concessions. Raffle tickets for VISA card. All welcome!

Join us February 11 at the Health, Wealth and Wellness Fair, Launch Louisville, 816 East Broadway, 11 am start time to encourage, support and motivate Chess Master D! He is going to compete in the High School Championship, Washington, D.C. on March 31.
Our chess athletes need your financial and material support in making three major tournaments. One is the 18th Annual All Girls National Chess Championship.
How do we expand the chess community's base in Greater Louisville? How do we bring in more low income youth? How do we bring into the chess community more Black and Brown youth? How do we recruit more ESL students for local chess clubs?

I am excited about this camp. It primarily will be conducted by Chess Master P. He is the highest ranked player in the chess club.
