The success of a film often depends on its ending. Imagine if The Shawshank Redemption didn't end with Andy Dufresne escaping Shawshank Prison and sailing away with Red. Or imagine if the original Planet of the Apes movie didn't end in such a shocking fashion with Charton Heston discovering he's actually been on earth all along.
For the first time in a year, I talked film with someone else on the podcast. My guest today is Jacob Meeks, one of my oldest friends and fellow movie lover, and we discussed an impossible topic: our five favorite movie endings of all time.
Our lists contain films from some of the most talented filmmakers of all time - Christopher Nolan, Alfred Hitchcock, David Fincher, John Carpenter, and so many more.

2017 was a great year for film and here's hoping 2018 is even better! You can probably tell but I was a bit sick while recording this episode, so my apologies for how annoying my voice sounds.

Wonder is a beautiful film with a big heart. It reminds us of something familiar; something we've all been taught, yet does so in a newly profound way: choose kind. I loved the movie and 100% recommend it.

Justice League is far from perfect, but still a fun film and overall solid CBM. It's a step in the right direction for DC and Warner Bros and has me excited for Aquaman and the coming DC lineup. A Ghost Story is one of the best films I've seen all year. It's a poetic, unforgettable tale that explores time, love, and grief. I can't recommend it enough.

Dunkirk is the latest from Christopher Nolan and one of the best war films ever made - an absolute masterpiece. I loved every second of it and will definitely be seeing it again in theaters.

The Planet of the Apes trilogy is one of the best trilogies of all time - an absolute triumph in cinema. I love this series and War for the Planet of the Apes was a must for me to review.
