Mr. Groff echoes this historical observation. Neither man makes a proscriptive or ethical point regarding women's suffrage. Rather, Mr. Garris and Mr. Groff make the same historical point observed by historians of the American nineteenth and twentieth centuries that with the advent of women's suffrage in the United States of America, political life was no longer organized by voting households, but rather organized by voting individuals.
