Even though forgiveness is always the right choice, it isn’t always easy to do. This week, Pastor Brian teaches on the biblical connection between freedom and forgiveness, and how we cannot experience true freedom until we truly forgive.
God desires us to live a life of freedom, and that transformation can only be accomplished through Him. During week three of the series, Pastor Brian shows the two main systems God has given us to be free.
We are all shaped by our past, good and bad. And generations of families can experience the same challenges if no one chooses to break the cycle. This week, Pastor Brian shares the steps we have to take in order to change negative generational patterns.
In this series, we will take a look at what the Bible has to say about how we can be "Truly Free." During week one, Pastor Brian teaches on the difference between the tree of life, and the tree of knowledge of good and evil.
As we conclude the Summer Voices series, we hear from five people within our church, each delivering a 7-minute message on a specific characteristic of God.
For the fourth week of our Summer Voices series, we are joined by Pastor Darren Scheske of Heartland Church in Fishers, Indiana. Pastor Darren brings a message of how to prepare and posture ourselves in combatting the worries of life.
During week three of our Summer Voices series we are joined by Pastor Gerald Fadayomi of Home Church Roswell in Roswell, Georgia. Pastor Gerald brings a message about how a life with Jesus can transform us into having the mindset and identity of a servant.
This Sunday, we rally together as a church before going out and serving our City. Pastor Heather Cromer leads the morning by reminding us what it means to have the attitude of a servant.
During week two of the Summer Voices series, we are joined by Pastor Brian Taylor of Every Nation Cincinnati Church. He brings a message of growth, showing how Jesus specializes in using ordinary people to do extraordinary things.
During the first week of our Summer Voices series, we are joined by Tiffany Coleman who shares a message about waiting for answers to prayers. She shows us that regardless of how hopeless a situation seems, or how long the wait is, continuing to trust God is always the answer.
As we conclude the series, we see how the final chapter of Ephesians reminds us we are in a fight. Paul says this fight is not against flesh and blood enemies; it is against evil spirits. This week Pastor Brian teaches us how we can be prepared for the attacks of the enemy.
We are saved by grace through faith; not by our good works. And as followers of Jesus, we are brand new people. During week five of our Ephesians series, Pastor Brian show how our new lives should be lived out as a response to the grace we’ve been given.
As we enter into the second half of our series, Pastor Brian shows how Paul transitions from helping us understand the gospel, to helping us understand how to live the Gospel. During week four, we focus on three characteristics we should live out as the Church.
During the Christmas season we get to celebrate the birth of Jesus, spend time with loved ones, exchange gifts, and take in all the lights. There are many reasons to call this time of year “wonderful”, but there are also many people who feel hurt, isolation, or grief around the holidays. Today, Pastor Brian teaches how we can all choose to line up to the truth of Jesus in order to combat any negativity brought on by the enemy.
As we celebrate water baptisms this week, Pastor Brian shares the “what & why” of getting baptized. He also teaches the standard by which Jesus measures success, and why we should measure our success the same way.
This is the tenth and final week of our series looking at the values of our church; the values that make us uniquely us. To finish the series, Pastor Brian shares three practical ways we can live out our value of generosity being a privilege. https://www.queencitypeople.com/onechild
This week we look at a value that can both help us live a life more like Jesus, and that can unlock doors we haven’t been able to open.
When we realize that joy, biblical joy, is more than an emotion, we can start to choose joy regardless of circumstance. During week seven of our series, Lauren Sheppard shows the things we can practice in order to allow us to always choose joy.
Cincinnati is a beautiful city, and a great place to live and enjoy life. Amidst the wonderful culture, arts and cuisine of the Queen City, there is also brokenness. During week seven of this series, Pastor Brian teaches why and how we as a church must take personal responsibility for the brokenness of our city.
During week six of our series teaching from the values of our church, Pastor Brian shows the honoring and inspiring qualities associated with living every part of life on the standard of excellence.
To honor someone is to express the value they bring. During week five of our series, Pastor Brian shares who, why, and how we should honor, both in the church and in our everyday lives.
As we continue our series looking into the values of our church, we hear from our very own Jasmine Miller on the value of passion being our response.
Finding division can be easy, in all areas of life. But Jesus doesn’t call us to live easy lives. Jesus prayed for all of His followers to have unity with one another, and that is why Queen City Church holds the value: Unity Is Our Pursuit.
This is the second week of our “This Is Us” series, and the day marking four years since the start of Queen City Church! Today Pastor Brian shares our church’s value of people being our priority, and how that influences the way we love and serve those around us.
This week we begin a new message series based on the values of our church. To start the series, we are joined by Pastor Jason Laird who teaches the foundational value of Queen City Church - Jesus is our message.
Proverbs 29:18 says, “If people can’t see what God is going, they stumble all over themselves”. This week Pastor Brian takes a Sunday to share the vision and new things in store for Queen City Church, and the vision God has for you and your life.
This series has focused on why and how the mission of Queen City Church echos The Great Commission given by Jesus. This week, Pastor Brian offers guidance on what can be seen by some as the most challenging step in our mission: “what do I say?”
As Christians, the greatest influence we have on the people around us is not in what we say, but how we live. During week two of our series, Pastor Brian teaches four things we can do in our everyday lives to lead others to a life-changing relationship with Jesus that gets better and better.
When you live your life on mission for Jesus, you are living your life exactly how God designed you. So what does it look like to live life on mission? During the first week of our new series, Pastor Brian teaches why it is so important to live on mission, both as people and as a church.
During the final week of the Summer Voices series, we hear from five members of Queen City Church as each of them finishes the statement, “Jesus is ____” based on their own life experiences and personal encounters with Jesus.
In the Book of Proverbs we read that everything we do, good or bad, starts in our heart. So when we find ourselves stuck in comparison or anxiety, it started in the heart. This week we hear a message from Mayo Sowell about the truth that because Christ is near, you are enough just as you are.
Participating in communion as a church is a symbolic and spiritual event, and its origin comes from the tradition of the passover celebration. As we continue with our Summer Voices series, we hear from Pastor Brad Cooper who offers deeper understanding and teaching on the Lord’s supper.
God knows you, individually, on a personal level. He knows you better than anyone on earth ever has or ever could. Because God sees us the way He does, He is able to have empathy for everything we go through. During week two of the Summer Voices series, we hear from Heather Cromer about how God sees and cares for all His children.
Spiritual Maturity is not something to automatically arrive at later in life, nor something missed out on based on age. Ultimately, this maturity comes from a relationship with the Holy Spirit. During week one of our Summer Voices series, we hear from Crossroads Church Pastor Paco Pancham on the process of spiritual maturity.
This series has showed how God was testing Joseph’s character. These tests were about who God created Joseph to be, long before Joseph accomplished what God had called him to do. During the final week of our series, Nat Miller wraps things up by sharing what Joseph experienced during his purpose test.
To pardon someone (forgive) means to absolve them from the consequences of their fault. This week in our series, Pastor Brian continues Joseph’s story by teaching the importance of forgiveness in forming and strengthening our character.
During this series, we are looking through the character tests Joesph experienced. At this point in his life, Joseph experienced great prosperity followed by great famine. This week, Pastor Brian shows how the choices Joseph made during his seven years of prosperity actually affected the next seven years of famine.
Seeing a dream become reality can often bring with it great power. In order to know God can trust us with that power, He needs to know we’ll steward it responsibly. This week, Pastor Brian continues the series by showing how Joseph went through the power test.
It takes effort in order for dreams to become reality. Sometimes effort means forward-progress, but other times it simply means not giving up. This week we hear a message from Jasmine Miller describing Joseph’s perseverance when he was put to the test.
The Bible instructs us to run from sexual sin in order to overcome temptation. This week we continue the story of Joseph by looking at why we should run from sexual sin, and what we should be running toward.
There are tests we go through while waiting for a dream to become a reality. The purpose of these is to test our character. Along with passing the tests, we also need to live a life of faithfulness in order to advance ourselves closer to our dreams.
God is always working, he He will never give up on you. In week two of the series, Pastor Brian continues with the story of Joseph by showing the reason we find ourselves facing challenges in life, and what our response to that challenge should be.
God has a plan, purpose, and dream for your life, and the best way to discover this dream is by getting to know God through relationship with Him. But even when you learn what that dream is, there will inevitably be a gap before it becomes reality. In this series, we will study the story of Joseph in Genesis to learn what we may experience while waiting for our God-given dream to become a reality.
Jesus was a friend of sinners. He displayed the perfect balance of grace and truth to everyone he encountered, regardless of their past. This week, Pastor Jason Laird brings a message highlighting this principle to show there are things we as Christians should display and stand for.
Happy Easter, from Queen City Church! As we celebrate Resurrection Sunday, Pastor Brian finishes our "Miracles" series by teaching what the resurrection was, and how it still affects us today.
When Jesus performs miracles for people in the Bible, we see Him meeting people at the level of their expectations. During the fourth week of our series, we look at two different miracles Jesus performed, and specifically at the faith of the two people who received the miracle.
Because of Jesus we can have peace, and with Jesus we can have miraculous peace in the midst of a storm. During week three of the series, Pastor Brian shares how all of the challenges in life, big or small, can be changed through the miracle of peace offered to us by Jesus.
Finding freedom from the enemy is part of the vision of our church, and part of the vision God has for your life. This freedom is found through a relationship with Jesus. During our second week of the series, Lauren Sheppard teaches how we have become free from the penalty of sin through Jesus, but that it can be a process to become free from the power of sin.
Jesus performed an uncountable number of miracles during his life, 38 of which are shared in the gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke and John. During this series leading up to Easter, we will be looking at some of these miracles to learn what they teach us about Jesus. For our first week, Pastor Brian starts with one of the most well-known miracles performed by Jesus.
During this series, we have been looking at the different labels God gives us as his children. When Jesus gave his Sermon On The Mount, he referred to us as “salt and light”. As Pastor Brian concludes the series, he looks at this final label to teach us what Jesus meant by it, and what our response should be.
Through Christ’s overwhelming victory over death, each one of us has access to overwhelming victory of our own. The same exact power that rose Jesus from the dead lives inside us! For our fifth week of the series, Pastor Brian talks about this power, and how it gives us the ability to overcome and conquer the things we never thought possible to change.
Jesus has chosen you. And as His child, Jesus will continue to choose you. No matter the size of our mistakes, God’s grace is bigger. During the fourth week of our series, Pastor Brian shares the amazing news that Jesus continues calling out to us, and giving us the invitation to follow Him.
We are saved by God’s grace, not by our works. And when we are saved and made new in Christ Jesus, we begin yielding to God’s control so we can realize the assignment God has placed on our lives. This week, we are joined by Beth Cunningham from Church of the Highlands as she shares the amazing truth that you are God’s masterpiece.
As Christians, we are called to be representatives of the kingdom of Heaven; we are called to be ambassadors, and help others experience reconciliation with God. During week two of the series, Pastor Brian shares why and how we are called to be God’s chosen instrument to represent Him and His mercy.
Life has a way of putting labels on us, whether material, emotional or relational. Labels aren’t always bad, but the order of them is very important. During our new series, Pastor Brian will teach that when you understand who God says you are, it will drastically impact how you live your life, and guide everything you do.
Just because we don’t hear God’s voice doesn’t mean He isn’t speaking. The thing that can stop us from hearing God’s voice is most often our own not-listening. During week four of our series, Pastor Brian uncovers the things affecting our listening, and talks about how we can open our ears and prepare our hearts to hear God’s voice.
God still speak to us, and He wants us to hear His voice. But when we pray, it can be confusing to know whether we are truly hearing from God. Today, Pastor Brian shares three questions to use in determining if the voice we’re hearing is God’s voice.
God will speak to you and your life, regardless of how well you know Him. During week two of our series focusing on how to hear God’s voice, Pastor Brian teaches from the Book of Samuel to show how we can best position ourselves to hear from God.
The God that formed the universe with his mouth is still speaking to us today, and all we have to do is listen. During this new series, we will be looking at the theology which helps us understand how to hear God’s voice loud and clear. This week, Pastor Brian starts by answering the question, “why does God still speak?”
Jesus teaches that prayer and fasting should be part of the normal rhythm of our lives, in order to keep aligned with God’s will for us. This week, Nat Miller shares a message looking at the purpose, importance, and approach to prayer and fasting, in preparation for our upcoming series, “How To Hear God’s Voice”.
The next year of your life can be the best year of your life, if it is the best year of your life spiritually. This Sunday, Pastor Brain shares tangible ways we can make 2022 the best year of our lives by modeling Jesus’ growth in the Bible.
Merry Christmas! This time of year is filled with activities, commitments, and time with others, but are you leaving room for Jesus? Are you making room for Jesus? In chapter 2 of the book of Luke, we read about the Christmas story, and see that it all started with people not having enough room for Jesus. Whether you never have before, or you have in the past, what would it look like for you to make room for Jesus?
What could happen to our lives if we made room for Jesus? If we open up our entire lives and make room for Jesus, we also make room for everything He brings: peace, joy, strength, rest, freedom, and miracles, to name a few. During the second part of our “Make Room” series, Pastor Jason Laird shares what we can do, and expect, as we wait and make room for miracles.
Christmas season is busy. With parties, shopping, gifts, school, and jobs, there’s rarely room for anything else. As we try to make room for everything this season, it’s easy to not leave room for what we really need. Pastor Jason Laird joins us for two weeks to share the necessity of making room for Jesus this Christmas, and what Jesus brings to our lives when we invite Him in.
Giving has very little to do with our money, and everything to do with our heart. For the final week of our Beyond Blessed series, Pastor Brian shares a messages that outlines this truth in the first offering ever given to God.
The Bible teaches us, “Good planning and hard work lead to prosperity, but hasty shortcuts lead to poverty.” (Proverbs 21:5). “Stewardship” is the term for doing this well. During week three of the Beyond Blessed series, Pastor Brian continues by teaching the principle of stewardship, and the things to watch out for that can sabotage our stewarding calling.
The message of the Bible is that God is the owner. So if He is the owner, what exactly belongs to God? During week two of our Beyond Blessed series, Pastor Brian shares a life-changing biblical principle that can shift our perspective and priority.
The word “blessed” means to have God’s power working for you. God wants us to have a life full of blessing so we can use it and be a blessing to others. This week, we are starting a new series and focusing on what the Bible teaches about steps of obedience to help us live a blessed life.
God cares about you deeply, and cares about your assignment deeply. So much so, that before we were even created, God had prepared a plan for each of our lives. This week we have a special message from Heather Cromer inspiring us to see our part, and realize our part is just as valuable as those around us.
The topic of race is an ongoing discussion at school, at work, among friends and family, and at church. But how are those conversations forming and affecting our beliefs on the subject? For the final week of our series, Pastor Chuck Mingo from Crossroads Church shares a message to point people on both sides of the table toward seeing how Jesus sees, so we can love how Jesus loves.
If you have influence, you have leadership, and as a leader, you will leave a legacy that lasts beyond yourself. What do you want said about your role as a leader? This week, Pastor Brian uses a phrase from a parable in the Book of Matthew to illustrate how we can live our lives more like Jesus, and in turn become a better leader.
Jesus calls us to be kind and compassionate to one another, even forgiving each other, just as He forgave us. That’s easy to do with the people we like, but how should we treat the difficult people in our lives? During week four of our series, Pastor Brian uses Paul’s writing in the Book of Ephesians to give clear, biblical guidance on how to deal with difficult people.
Why do bad things happen? Specifically, why do bad things happen to good people? During the third week of our series, Pastor Brian gives some biblical answers to this challenging question, and reminds us of the truth that Jesus went through the worst tragedy in history so we could experience the greatest victory.
Life is stressful. And there is nothing we can do to eliminate stress from happening. But there are ways we can manage it by relying on others, and learning what the Bible teaches about stress. During the second week of our series, Pastor Brian shows how with God, even when we have stress in our lives, we will have peace in our hearts.
God has plans for your life that He has already laid out and set in motion. When we realize what that plan is, we can start living our best life possible! But it isn’t always easy to see that plan and have confidence in what the right next step is. In the first week of our new series, Pastor Brian teaches from both a theological and practical standpoint of how to know God’s will for your life.
The kingdom of God is about making room. It is an open invitation to everyone, and all of us have a role to play in welcoming others and expanding the kingdom. As Queen City Church celebrates our third birthday today, we hear a special message from Church of the Highlands’ Pastor Dino Rizzo about what we can, and are called to do as a church: make room.
This week is vision Sunday. It is a day that is set aside for Pastor Brian to clearly share what God is doing in our church, and the new things that are soon to come. There are three major announcements this week, including small groups, the dream team, and the brand new "Queen City HQ".
Over the past year and a half, during the Covid-19 pandemic, it’s likely we’ve all felt stuck at some point. This series has showed us God’s plan for how we can get unstuck: by getting on mission. During our final week, Pastor Brian shows us one more way we can practically get on mission, serve others, worship God, and become unstuck.
The greatest way to get unstuck is to get on mission. As Christians, we have a specific mission to reach people who are far from God, and lead them to a relationship with Him. During the third week of our series, Pastor Brian teaches us that it’s easier than we think to share our faith, and how it’s one of the greatest experiences we can have as a Christian.
We all have a God-given mission to make an eternal difference in the lives of other people, and leaning into that mission is the best way to free yourself when you feel stuck. During this series, we will be talking about practical ways that we can get on-mission. This week, Pastor Brian tells us why one of the greatest ways to get unstuck is by serving.
Everyone gets stuck from time to time, but if you’re still breathing, there is still hope. God has the power, wisdom, and vision to help you get unstuck. In the first week of our new “Unstuck” series, Pastor Brian outlines the topic we’ll be discussing over the next several weeks.
God loves you. And no matter what you do, or how far you wander away, nothing can separate you from God’s love. During our final week of the Summer Voices series, we are joined by Pastor Josh Turner as he shares an encouraging message of how much God loves us, through the story of the prodigal son.
The book of Proverbs says wisdom is more precious than gold. Wisdom is not just intellectual knowledge, it is the body of knowledge gained through experience. Since everyone has been through different experiences, everyone has their own wisdom to share. This week, we will be hearing from five different people serving on the leadership team within our church, and their answers to the question: What is the best wisdom you’ve received?
Prayer - talking to God - is a privilege and a blessing that we have the ability to communicate with the creator of the universe. And while the act of praying is simple, the obedience associated with praying is a more complicated task. This week, we are joined by Pastor Brandon Woodward to learn more about a fundamental principle of Christianity - how we should pray.
Detours disrupt our plans, distract us, and delay us from getting to our destination. But detours can turn out for our good, even though for the moment, they may feel bad. This week we are joined by Pastor Quovadis Mashall of Hope City Church in Iowa. Pastor Q shows us why we experience detours in life, and what to do when we find ourselves on one.
Being called out is usually an uncomfortable situation, but when Jesus calls us out, it is always done out of love. Jesus never calls us out to tell us what we’ve done wrong. During our first week of the Summer Voices series, Neville “Paco” Pancham of Crossroads Church shows us that when Jesus calls us out, it is to reveal something for us, and in us, that we can’t get from anyone but Him.
When the unexpected happens, it can leave us feeling broken and discouraged. But discouragement is not where we have to stay, and not what God calls for our lives. This week, we are joined by Pastor Steve Blair of Church of the Highlands to learn how to respond when the unexpected happens.
God created everyone in a unique way, which means everyone has a unique way they need to be loved. Knowing someone's love language is key to having the best possible relationship with them, and according to author Gary Chapman, there are five different love languages. In our fifth and final week of the 1 John series, Pastor Brian explores the idea of God’s own love language, and what it would be. QCC Bible Resources https://www.queencitypeople.com/bible
Love is at the very foundation of Christianity. It’s not just part of the teaching; it IS the teaching. As Pastor Brian continues from the book of 1 John, we hear John continue to talk about love, but in a new way. John tells us to look closer at what love is, and more importantly, who love is.
Jesus was the perfect example of what real love is: something that isn’t just said, but shown. During our third week of the series, Pastor Brian teaches about the type of love God has for us - agape love - and what it takes for us to love people the way Jesus does.
Life is beautiful, and every day is an absolute gift from God with so much to be grateful for. But there are some things of the world we need to be conscious of, and not waste love on. During week two of our series on the book of 1 John, Queen City Church’s own Nat Miller shares on this topic, and shows how we can avoid wasting our love.
We are starting a new series focusing on the book of 1 John. During week one, Pastor Brian takes a closer look at what John has to say on the topic of sin, and the steps we must take in order to find healing and forgiveness for our sins.
To all the Moms, biological or not, happy Mother’s Day from Queen City Church! This week, Pastor Brian and his wife Heather invite us into a conversation around how biblical motherhood looks - gleaning from Heather’s experience. From pre-motherhood to pouring into husbands and kids, Moms are a gift from God, and we celebrate you!
Jesus said we can prove to the world that we are His disciples by the way we love others. And Jesus was the ultimate example of using the ‘Stand Firm Love Well’ principle to build bridges, not walls. During our final week of the series, Pastor Brian shares the story of Zacchaeus the tax collector, and the things Jesus did to love him well.
When we stand up and stand firm against world opinion, Jesus will stand up for us to His father in heaven. In week 3 of the series, Pastor Brian uses the story of Shadrach Meshach and Abednego to show what it takes to stand firm, and how it will impact your influence on others.
If we refuse to acknowledge and correct pride, it will take control of our lives. But God has shown us in the Bible how to humble ourselves, overcome pride, and avoid a difficult lesson. As we continue this series focusing on the Book of Daniel, we see how pride can stop progress, and cause us to learn the hard way.
We live in a culture that believes you have to choose between standing firm and loving well. In this series, we will discover that God calls us to do both. During week one, Pastor Brian shows how we can stand firm, while loving well, in “The Uncomfortable Middle”.
Jesus died so that we could have life, eternal and abundant life, with Him. This Easter Sunday, Pastor Brian shares the great news of the Gospel, and how through Jesus’ resurrection, it is impossible for anything to keep its hold on you.
The Bible tells us that loving God includes loving people. Regardless of how unequipped you may feel, God wants to, and will, use you in order to make a difference and eternal impact in the lives of others. This week, Pastor Brian shares the parable of The Good Samaritan to show why we need to live under the belief that the other side is no longer an option.
Jesus is clear in His teachings that forgiveness is absolutely necessary. But forgiveness can seem nearly impossible when you don’t fully understand what it means. Visiting this week from Gateway Church, guest speaker Jelani Lewis uses one of Jesus’ parables to show what forgiveness is, why forgiveness matters, and how we forgive.
When we pray persistently, without losing hope, we put our trust in God. During week two of our series, Lauren Sheppard teaches on a parable where God tells us that the purpose of prayer is simply to always pray, and never give up.
The Bible says Jesus never spoke to crowds without using parables. A parable is a story, told alongside a truth, to help you understand that truth. During this new series leading up to Easter Sunday, Pastor Brian will be looking deeper into some of the parables to show us what Jesus was saying and teaching as he told these stories.
When expectations don’t meet reality, it creates distance between two people. Whether our response to this distance is positive or negative, there’s still a gap of unmet expectations. In the final week of our relationship series, Pastor Brian shows us how to “close the cap” in all of our relationships through one important principle.
Whether you are married, dating, or single, the strong temptations of sexual sin exist. Because of how destructive it can be, God commands us not to fight, but to sprint from it. During week three of our series, Pastor Brian shows what to run from, and what to run to, in order to avoid sexual sin.
God has a plan for each one of our relationships, and a specific plan for the relationship we have with our significant other. In week two of the series, Pastor Brian shows how to succeed in your relationships by understanding what the Bible says about the greatest need of the opposite sex.
Our relationships determine the quality and the direction of our lives, and The Bible has a lot to say about those relationships. Throughout this series, Pastor Brian will be teaching us what God’s word says about the best practices for relationships with others by having a personal relationship with Jesus as the foundation.
The purpose of this series is centered around the idea that sin never stays small. But if we can stop things in their infancy, they will never reach maturity. In the final week of our series, we hear from Jasmine Miller as she discusses how the Baby Monster of Greed affected Judas’ life, and how it can affect each of our’s too.
If you’ve ever found yourself feeling stuck or plateaued in your relationship with Jesus, you could be fighting the Baby Monster of “complacency”. During week three of the series, Pastor Brian discusses how we can slip into complacency, the dangers of it, and most importantly - how to avoid ever getting there.
When we live by standards that are lower than those set by God, we are allowing an unhealthy compromise, which is the quickest way to find yourself off the course of your God-given calling. In week two of this series, Pastor Brian uses the Biblical story of Sampson to show how even the strongest can fall because of compromises that are given room to grow. We can also see the steps to take in order to not let compromise take control of our lives.
Small things grow into big things. In the same way, minor challenges in life can become consuming if left unchecked. In week one of our new series, Pastor Brian shows how and why we should tame the monster of comparison.
Our God is good, strong, and always present, but we can still go through experiences where that doesn’t always feel true. This week, we are joined by Pastor Dan Lian, who leads us through a story in the Bible where Jesus went silent in the middle of a storm. Pastor Dan reminds us that we have the word of God and the Spirit of God to guide us when it feels like He has gone quiet.
Merry Christmas, Queen City Church! We are so happy to be celebrating with you! This season can be a lot of different things – great, stressful, expensive, overrated – And Christmas has a tendency to magnify those things. Today, Pastor Brian challenges us to not LET things be magnified, but to CHOOSE what is magnified. If we choose to magnify Jesus this Christmas, what would we see?
This is the third and final week of a series we are calling “Legacy”. Today also marks our once-a-year Legacy Sunday, where we receive a special offering, and give 100% of it away to individuals, organizations, local families, pastors, churches, and so much more. As Pastor Brian reminds us, we do this because we are blessed to be a blessing, representing the Father, everywhere we go.
What are you motivated by? Are you living for your time here on earth, or in eternity? The choise is yours! During week two of our Legacy series, Pastor Brian shares the proper way to store and invest your treasures.
'Legacy' means living in a way where your life outlives you. Jesus calls each of us to leave a legacy, and our response to that call will be revealed in the most important test we’re ever going to take - “The Two Question Test”.
We are joined this week by one of Queen City Church’s overseers, Jason Laird of Sozo Church in San Francisco, California! He poses this question - wouldn’t it be nice if we could reach out and ask God, “What is your will for my life?” Pastor Jason teaches how the Bible answers this question with a special message on the topic of God’s will, and God’s plan for our lives.
We have spent the past three weeks learning about the Holy Spirit, and the importance of not only knowing, but having a real relationship with Him. That relationship will provide us with amazing gifts that allow us to experience the best possible life we can. In the final week of our series, Pastor Brian teaches how we can fully access all of those benefits through “The Baptism in The Holy Spirit”.
God created us with specific abilities and desires; these are gifts from God given to each of us. But the full expression of these gifts is found through a relationship with the Holy Spirit. In week three of our series, pastor Brian walks us through this complex gift from God - “The Gifts of The Holy Spirit”.
The Holy Spirit has the power to change you, and life is so much better when the Holy Spirit is a part of our every day life. But it’s important to realize that even with Him, real change doesn’t happen overnight - it happens over time. In week two of the series, Pastor Brian continues teaching the benefits to having a relationship with the Holy Spirit as he shows us “The Fruit of The Holy Spirit”.
We are starting a new series all about the Holy Spirit, based off the book “The God I Never Knew” by Pastor Robert Morris. The Holy Spirit is many things, but altogether, He is a helper. This week, Pastor Brian teaches on “The Person of the Holy Spirit”. The God I Never Kew (Amazon) https://www.amazon.com/God-Never-Knew-Friendship-Spirit/dp/0307729729
In the Bible, we see that Jesus really liked people who were nothing like Him; and people who were nothing like Him really liked Jesus. Depression. It is real, and unfortunately, so is the stigma attached to it. If you are in a dark place, we want you to know that you are accepted, and it is ok to not be ok. However, it’s not ok to stay that way. Reach out to a friend, family member, or professional and tell them what you’re going through. This week, Pastor Brian revisits a message from the “Silent Killers” series to share what the Bible teaches about the silent killer of depression, and what we can do if we find ourselves experiencing it.
