I had heard about him, I had seen his deeds, and I had also awarded him the title...what I didn't know was that after meeting him, I would be hoping to have him on the podcast. Stricken with humility, and further being cemented as a model of what we wish to see within the community, Jeremy Bizzle continues to remain a Dodgeball household name. On May 25, 2020, George Floyd was murdered by Minneapolis police officers, adding yet one more unjustified killing to the countless African American Men, Women, and Children that have died unjustly. The incident incited mass protests, fiery debates and division across the nation. It has no doubt reached the Dodgeball community, giving pause for the Dodgeball Podcast to talk to Vince and Leila Marchbanks to not only gain their perspective on what is taking place, but to also help shed some light on matter that are becoming increasingly easier to dismiss.

Back in March of 2018, during the Elite Dodgeball West Round 1 tournament, I was approached by Joseph Colella from Arsenal (San Diego, CA) and pitched what I thought was a great idea: round up some of the older Dodgeball players and recount the good, the bad and all of the in between from our humble Dodgeball beginnings circa 2004 and right up to where we are today. Imagine a tournament that is not only two days, not only spans all three divisions (foam, no-sting and rubber), but every round counts. Every match, every point, every win, every loss all contributing to a final champion. Intense right? Well, it is and its called the Classic Women's Dodgeball Invitational tournament.
