In this episode we speak to HanBin Lee, the CEO of Seoul Robotics, a South-Korean based 3D perception company with a speciality in developing LiDAR perception software.
Seoul Robotics were founded in 2017 after HanBin and the other co-founders met whilst studying AI, Computer Vision & Deep Learning together online.
Following their entry into the 2017 Didi-Udacity Self-Driving Car Challenge, where they placed 10th out of 2000 entries, they decided to found Seoul Robotics which is now considered one of Korea's most promising start-ups that has offices across the world including Germany & the US and collaborates with some of the world's leading OEM & Tier 1 suppliers as well as other organisations outside of the automotive domain.
Their 3D perception technology, SENSR, which is compatible with almost all LiDAR sensors uses machine learning to make sense of raw data provided by sensors to support a range of functions from basic tracking and monitoring to autonomous mobility.
Listen today to hear us discuss the following;
In this episode we are joined by Stephen Lambright, the highly experienced Chief Marketing Officer at AEye, Inc., a Silicon Valley based LiDAR organisation founded in 2013 that develop the iDAR™ (Intelligent Detection And Ranging) System; which utilises deterministic artificial intelligence (AI) to create an intelligent, active imaging system that mimics the human visual cortex.
Listen today as we discuss;
This is a great episode, with Stephen being one of the most engaging and funny guests of the series.
Disclaimer: If you live anywhere near I10 (Interstate 10) in America, Stephen and I apologise in advance!
In this episode we speak to Dr. Tianyue Yu, the Chief Development Officer and Co-Founder at Quanergy, a Silicon Valley based LiDAR organisation that were founded in 2012 and have developed a true, 100% solid state CMOS LiDAR sensor built on optical phased array (OPA) technology.
This smart LiDAR solution is considered the "holy grail" of LiDAR as it will enable low-cost, highly reliable and more importantly mass producible LiDAR sensors for a wide range of application verticals.
Listen today as we discuss;
Today I was joined by Angus Pacala, the CEO of Ouster, a LiDAR company that is certain that LiDAR sensor technology will become ubiquitous in society in the coming years and are developing digital high-resolution LiDAR used by hundreds of their customer's worldwide to give 3D vision to robots, smart infrastructure, industrial machines, vehicles and more.
In this episode we discuss
Extremely passionate about LiDAR technology, this episode with Angus will give you a great insight into the differing use cases of LiDAR technology, how and why it will be so beneficial to society as well as giving you an overview of the foundations of Silicon Valley and the developments in the Semiconductor domain.
In this episode we speak to Dr. Florian Petit the Founder of Blickfeld - a Munich based LiDAR startup developing cutting-edge MEMS-based LiDAR technology for autonomous mobility and IoT applications and have designed their product with one aim in mind; mass production which can be an issue when developing such highly-complex technology.
Florian tells us more about the technical design decisions behind their configurable LiDARs as we delve into Autonomous Driving and people counting, as well as an extremely novel use of LiDAR technology by one of their customer's!
In this episode we speak to Omer Keilaf, the Founder and CEO of Innoviz Technologies - an Israel based LiDAR startup that focus on LiDAR for autonomous driving applications.
In this episode I am joined by Anand Gopalan, the CEO of Velodyne LiDAR - one of the oldest and most successful LiDAR manufacturers which focus on developing LiDAR for various applications: automotive, last-mile delivery, smart cities amongst others.
