I’m so inspired by the incredible work Steven Puri, Founder and CEO of The Sukha Company, is doing to help millions find their focus, achieve more, and create a healthier work-life blend.
But his story didn’t start there—Steven grounds his wisdom in years of experience from the entertainment industry, where he shares some behind-the-scenes stories (including tackling the age-old question: Is Die Hard a Christmas movie?).
So grab your favorite cup and sip with us—because November is brewing up to be the most exciting month yet for Steven Puri! ☕✨
Steven Puri's Bio
Steven's career started as a newscaster/interviewer for the #1 youth news show in the DC/Baltimore market (on WTTG-TV), and then as a junior software engineer & Thomas J. Watson Scholar at IBM. After attending USC in Los Angeles, he began working in film production and produced computer-generated visual effects for 14 movies, including Independence Day, which won the Academy Award for Visual Effects. Steven’s first tech company was Centropolis Effects produced those CGI effects, and he eventually sold it to the German media conglomerate Das Werk when he was 28. Steven then produced some indie films and eventually went studio-side to develop and produce live-action features as a VP of Development & Production at 20th Century Fox (running the Die Hard and Wolverine franchises) and an EVP at DreamWorks Pictures for Kurtzman-Orci Productions, where he worked on Star Trek, Transformers, and more. After Fox, Steven returned to building tech companies and founded The Sukha Company.

How much do you really know about the companies you support? I'm not talking about who and which organizations they donate to, politicians they support, or even how much money it's making you.
I am talking about how they treat their people. Do they have leaders with morals and integrity who put people first or does greed lead?
Let's sip on why this matters and how to influence a proper people culture where you work and invest your money.

We are living in a collaborative culture. We invite and accept collabs on social media. To get work done, we have to collab with various people in multiple job types and functions. I had the honor to sip with the inspiring TEDx Speaker Robin Nathaniel. Robin has a story of resilience, creativity, and reinvention. Beginning his career as a musician, Robin’s artistic roots laid a unique foundation for his journey. This experience in music, with its emphasis on connection and storytelling, naturally paved the way for his transition into the professional world of social media. Living by the motto "Connect. The first time I made a cup of coffee. It wasn't good. But with practice, learning, I got better. Leadership is no different. It takes trial and error, practice, humility and experience.
First impressions might leave a lasting impression, but when it comes to having a growth mindset, it shouldn't be your lasting impression of a person. Never judge someone now for who they were or weren't earlier in their career, at a moment in time you might've worked with them, or even when they're having a bad day. People grow, change, and it's important to hear their journey before you judge. Let's sip on how we can give people the benefit of another impression.

It is true leadership in action when you exercise your privilege to vote and encourage others to do the same. Not telling others WHO to vote for, but to vote based on their conscience, values, policy, not personality, and not who a celebrity tells you to vote for. Why? Does it even matter? YES! And let's sip on some key things to consider in this November election season.

So many people forget the art of leading themselves when they're on vacation. Some of the saddest examples of this is when people traveling to different countries disrespect other cultures, laws, and heritage sites. The worst offenders believe they're entitled to do whatever they want just because they paid money to board a plane, train, or ship to a far off destination.
Warning: This episode has rants for the worst, but ends with raves for the best ways to be a good global leader when we travel, so we can all be welcomed back

On the heels of the great resignation, quietly quitting is another movement sweeping through the world's workforce. What does this mean exactly and how should we as leaders respond? Join me for some quiet sips of loud leadership tips on this topic to help you and your team get out of a trend and into a more fulfilling life.
Proverbs tells us that “He who walks with wise men will be wise, But the companion of fools will be destroyed." While that may sound dramatic, think about the truth in that statement. You become the people you surround yourself with. So who do you want to be? Based on this, who should be in your circle of trust? And what do you do about everyone else?
From that worker with the big laugh to the person who's concerned about what you're wearing to work, let's talk about how we can identify the things we should address vs. the things that just don't matter in the grand scheme of things. Mama and papa bear leaders, this one's for you.
Hearing a 1998 song in a Starbucks inspired the flavor of this episode's sips. Tune in to find out "...that thing, that thing, that thing..." that leaders must do to educate their people about collaboration.
In a world where we can be constantly connected to everyone we know, and people we don't know, we are losing our own identities. This podcast episode will show you how to disconnect, where to disconnect, and even who to disconnect...so you can reconnect in bigger, badder and uncut ways. And I really hope you read the description for this 80th podcast episode in a movie trailer voice.
Some of the latest coffee trends including the pour over and using a French press, are nothing new and have been around for more than 100 years. With each new generation there is often a renewed sense of appreciation for the vintage, and in the case of coffee making is fun and harmless, but what if we don't recognize when other things are cyclical, and start to repeat past mistakes? Even worse, are we creating new problems because we've run out of new ideas? Let's sip on how we lead through this very thing happening in the world around us.
Doctors take a Hippocratic oath of morals. Sadly, too many workplaces seem to encourage a hypo-critic oath. They say one thing, but their actions and unspoken culture says another. In this episode we explore how leaders can flip that mess of a Macchiato upside down so the sweet stuff becomes our foundation, not just an ingredient floating on the surface.
We're in a bring your authentic self to work kind of society, but what does this actually mean and how is this really playing out? Is it helpful? Harmful? Are we really cultivating a more inclusive environment. Let's discuss without spilling too much tea.
It's time to order the large latte (Hello!) and take small sips towards achieving your big dreams. This episode's sips give you an easy dream-achieving outline to follow, so don't cream your dreams and tune in to get sippin' on your life's purpose.
Likes, Comments, Shares have become the new validation in our society. Tune in to hear how we as leaders need to rise above the critics and encourage others to use their voice, regardless of what the critics online or in the boardroom might say.
This episode is talking 'bout my and all generations and how we lead and thrive together in a multi-gen workforce.
Like a great dandelion tea, everybody needs a detox. I believe the world needs a detox as well. A leadership detox. If we are to change the world for the better, for ours and future generations, haven't we seen enough proof that bad leaders prevail in every corner of the planet? Will you join me in a movement? #LeadershipReset
Throughout history people have fallen for the messages and persuasion of charismatic leaders. Is charisma a necessary leadership trait or all smoke and mirrors? Tune in to dive deeper into the concept of social charisma and where we as leaders should be focusing our efforts to be the change we wish to see in the world.
It's especially hard to be a leader nowadays with world events being an increasing presence in our workplaces for a variety of reasons. As leaders it's important to be understanding as each person reacts differently to various issues, but is there such a thing as too much empathy? Are we losing our will to provide constructive feedback and alternative points of view for fear of offending? Let's sip on it...
It’s so important leaders don't half-heartedly search for a work-love connection when interviewing potential team members just to get someone in the door. WARNING: Unpopular opinions about hiring practices may be shared in this episode. But who said popular means right anyway?
Does slow and steady always win the race? No. But slow and steady always wins the personal growth game. Tune in to find out how a slow roast on the right things can actually lead to a fast brew to activate on the work things.
Hulling a coffee bean is removing its skin during processing, and I believe people need to do the same to traditional hierarchical cultures if they wish to thrive in the future marketplace and survive the great resignation. Think you don't have the influence to help? Think again.
Just as commercial packaging can be misleading for product quality, so can being quick to judge about what a person wears to work. With so many people returning to office environments, will the office clothing norms change? Should they? In this episode, let's brew something authentically you in the world of office wear.
The Great Resignation as the media has dubbed it. People leaving their jobs for a myriad of reasons. What's a leader to do when they are struggling to stabilize a team AND a business? Well it all starts with - you guessed it - leadership.
The word Metaverse has been gaining a lot of media attention lately, but what is it and why should we care? Ready Player One? Tune in for some sips on if we're ready to go full meta or not.
Teachers are leaders, leaders are teachers. Both play critical roles in shaping our future. Tune in for some sips about being teachers from the classroom to the boardroom.
