Anthony Albanese has apologised “unequivocally” for his comments while playing a “shag, marry, date” game on a comedy podcast when he nominated Kylie Minogue for all three categories.
The prime minister issued a statement on Monday morning after receiving criticism at the weekend for his appearance on the Bush Deep podcast with the comedian Nikki Osborne.
Amid a lighthearted interview released late last week, in which topics included Albanese’s dog and gifts he’d received from world leaders, the host asked Albanese in a “rapid fire” question round to place Kylie Minogue, Nicole Kidman and Rhonda Burchmore in a “shag, marry, date” game.

A 10-year-old California boy, James (Jimmy) Safechuck, is hired to appear in a Pepsi commercial alongside Michael Jackson. In Leaving Neverland, Safechuck says that Jackson befriended him and his family after the ad began airing, that the singer was immediately generous to him and allegedly began lavishing him with gifts — including, Safechuck says, his jacket from the "Thriller" video. Safechuck and his family also say that Jackson began flying them for visits and on vacations.
On one such trip to Hawaii, Safechuck alleges, Michael Jackson first asked the boy to sleep with him in his bed.
August 1993: Los Angeles police begin investigating JacksonThe Los Angeles Times reports that the LAPD has begun investigating Jackson based on allegations that he possibly molested four children, including a 13-year-old boy. (The boy is mentioned by name and in photos in Leaving Neverland.)
After having four inches of his manhood removed in a drastic surgery to save his life, Steven Hamill feared he would never fulfil his dream of being a father.
The 33-year-old food industry worker was diagnosed with penile cancer in April 2019, after suffering a raft of distressing symptoms.
Steven first visited his GP in March that year complaining of pain and swelling in his genitals, and was diagnosed with balanitis – inflammation of the head of the penis that can be caused by infection or irritation.
He was sent home with a topical cream.
But after developing worsening, intense pain coupled with an extremely unpleasant odour, Steven was rushed to A&E after fainting and waking in a pool of his own blood.
There, doctors gave him the devastating diagnosis: penile cancer, advanced enough to require a partial amputation.
Steven was terrified. 'Every time I went to bed I would think, 'is this the night I'm going to die? Will I see next week? Should I make plans for next week?',' he said.
Today, however, Steven is cancer-free, and the proud dad of a four-year-old boy. And despite the taboo nature of his cancer, he has taken the brave step to go public – in a bid to raise awareness of the symptoms and encourage men not to delay seeking help.
'I was really lucky that even after I had four inches removed it left me with around four inches,' Steven says. 'So it's still fully functional and working.'
Around 700 men are diagnosed with penile cancer in Britain each year – the disease most commonly occurs in men over the age of 50.
A significant proportion of cases are thought to be preventable. Cancer Research UK estimates more than 60 per cent are linked to known risk factors, including infection with certain strains of human papillomavirus (HPV), smoking, and chronic inflammatory skin conditions such as lichen sclerosus.
The disease is notoriously hard to spot because symptoms can easily be mistaken for less serious problems, which men are often too embarrassed to talk about.
As a result, late diagnosis is increasingly common, with many men ignoring early warning signs – which can, as in Steven's case, result in amputation.
Of men diagnosed early, however, more than 90 per cent survive at least five years after diagnosis.
Major risk factors include smoking, not being circumcised, a weakened immune system and older age.
Symptoms include a growth, lump or sore that does not heal within four weeks, a rash, bleeding, abnormal discharge, as well as unexplained weight loss, extreme fatigue and abdominal pain.

Christopher Ciccone, an artist and interior decorator who worked closely with his older sister, Madonna, during her rise to global superstardom in the ’80s and ’90s, died Friday. He was 63. The cause of death was cancer.
According to a statement from his family, Ciccone died peacefully, surrounded by his loved ones, including his husband, British actor Ray Thacker.

Ten Good Reasons is the debut album by Australian pop star and actor Jason Donovan. It was released on 2 May 1989 by PWL (UK) and Mushroom Records (Australia). It became the biggest selling album in the UK that year, and yielded two solo number-one singles ("Too Many Broken Hearts" and "Sealed with a Kiss") and also features a duet with Kylie Minogue, "Especially for You", which had reached number one in January 1989.
The album entered the UK Albums Chart at number two, and then reached number one, staying there for four weeks. When his cover of Brian Hyland's "Sealed with a Kiss" entered the UK Singles Chart at number one, Donovan became the first Australian male to hold both UK single and UK album chart number-one positions simultaneously. In Australia, the album peaked at number five on its debut on the ARIA albums chart in June 1989, and became the 53rd highest selling album in Australia for 1989.[2]
The album was reissued in 2010 as an expanded deluxe edition featuring B-sides and remixes. In 2016, the first CD of the 2010 reissue was reissued again as part of promotion for Donovan's Ten Good Reasons live shows.
The title of the album is taken from a line in its opening track, "Too Many Broken Hearts": "You give me one good reason to leave me, I'll give you ten good reasons to stay."

Music is the eighth studio album by American singer Madonna, released on 2000 by Maverick Records. Following the success of her previous album Ray of Light (1998), she intended to embark on a tour. However, her record company encouraged her to return to the studio and record new music before going on the road. Her collaboration with producers Mirwais Ahmadzaï and William Orbit resulted a more experimental direction for the album. Music has an overall dance-pop and electronicavibe, with influnces from rock, country and folk. The album was mostly recorded at Sarm West and East Studios in London, England. Elaborating on the country theme for the album, Madonna reinvented her image as a cowgirl.

Golden is the fourteenth studio album by Australian singer Kylie Minogue. It was released on 6 April 2018 by BMG Rights Management and Minogue’s company, Darenote. This is Minogue's first work with BMG and her first musical effort since her 2015 holiday album Kylie Christmas. Despite beginning with sessions in London and Los Angeles, Minogue then travelled to Nashville, Tennessee. There, she was inspired by the city's culture as well as musical influences, specifically country music. "Tension" is a song by Australian singer Kylie Minogue, taken from her upcoming sixteenth studio album of the same name (2023). It was released as the album's second single on 31 August 2023 by BMG Rights Management and Minogue's company, Darenote. "Tension" was written by Minogue, Anya Jones, Camille Purcell, Jon Green, Duck Blackwell and longtime collaborator Richard Stannard.
Sure, Madonna was always changing, but with the release of Erotica on Oct. 20, 1992, she fully shed her ebullient ’80s pop skin, donned a leather cat mask, and kicked open a rusty back alley door that previous chart-toppers only dared to scratch at.
You didn’t need to pick up a copy of her celebrity nude-filled coffee table book, Sex, to realize it. You didn’t even need to see Madonna Veronica Louise Ciccone, whip in hand, mugging for the camera in the video for the title track. All you needed to do was press play on the album and let the impossibly thick, libidinous bass line of “Erotica” start vibrating throughout your body. Forty seconds in, the sampled horns of Kool & the Gang’s “Jungle Boogie” flare up, but instead of sounding reassuring and familiar, they seem disembodied and eerie. Then, Madonna’s latest alter ego addresses you, low and firm: “My name is Dita / I’ll be your mistress tonight.”
How do fans cope when an idol faces crisis?
Celine Dion's diagnosis with stiff-person syndrome has brought public attention to the rare neurological disorder, which affects roughly one or two out of every million people.
"While we’re still learning about this rare condition, we now know this is what’s been causing all of the spasms that I’ve been having. Unfortunately, these spasms affect every aspect of my daily life, sometimes causing difficulties when I walk and not allowing me to use my vocal cords to sing the way I’m used to," the singer said in an Instagram video.
People with stiff-person syndrome often experience rigidity in their torso and limbs, as well as severe muscle spasms that can cause them to fall down. The spasms can occur at random or be triggered by certain stimuli, including loud noises, touch and emotional distress.
Dr. Richard Nowak, an assistant neurology professor at the Yale School of Medicine, said the condition "has a range of severity, from quite mild — easily managed with a little bit of medication — to folks that are quite severe that can be, frankly, quite disabled from it."
Stiff-person syndrome overall disrupts the normal pathways of communication between the brain and the muscles.
"There’s a massive firing that’s occurring from the central nervous system, down through the spinal cord, down through the nerves as they plug into the muscles, and it’s causing them to become rigid or go into spasm, which equals the stiffness," Nowak said.
In most but not all cases, people with stiff-person syndrome have elevated levels of antibodies that target a particular protein involved in the process of controlling muscle function. Doctors consider these patients to have an autoimmune condition.

Body Language is the ninth studio album by Australian singer Kylie Minogue. It was released on 10 November 2003 by Parlophone. Following the commercial success of her eighth studio album Fever (2001), Minogue enlisted a diverse group of writers and producers to aid in creating a new album, including Cathy Dennis, Dan Carey, Emiliana Torrini, Johnny Douglas, and Kurtis Mantronik among others. Influenced by the musical works of the 1980s and artists like Prince and Scritti Politti, Body Language musically differs from Minogue's previous albums, which mainly featured disco-oriented dance-pop tracks, and instead explores genres like synth-pop, electroclash, R&B, and hip hop. Lyrically, the album touches upon themes of enjoyment, flirting, and sex.
Following its release, Body Language received generally favourable reviews from music critics, many of whom complimented Minogue for experimenting with new genres and the overall production of the album. Some critics, however, opined that many songs lacked catchy material and were not suitable for dancing. Commercially, Body Language peaked at number two on the albums chart of Australia and was certified double-platinum by the Australian Recording Industry Association (ARIA). In the United Kingdom, the album peaked at number six and was certified platinum by the British Phonographic Industry (BPI).
Three singles were released from Body Language. "Slow" was released as the lead single in November 2003 and was a commercial success, peaking at number one on the singles charts of Australia, Denmark, Spain and the United Kingdom. "Red Blooded Woman" was released as the second single and reached the top five in Australia and the United Kingdom. "Chocolate" was released as the final single and peaked inside the top 10 in the United Kingdom. Gibson announced the release of the album on June 4, 2021. In an interview with Billboard magazine, she stated, "This album very much feels like Electric Youth 2021 in a lot of ways." Gibson also said, "The variety of styles, the way it encapsulates my life right now -- I really wanted to let it hang out on this album. The goal was to make an undeniably special, authentic, well-crafted and yet still raw album. I feel great about the fact we found that. I feel like I've made an undeniable album."[1]
Gibson came up with the album title while writing the songs during the COVID-19 pandemic lockdown. "I was writing both upbeats and ballads, but I was gravitating toward the upbeats just because everybody needs that energy shift now. Pop music does that — it shifts energy. That's where the title comes from — the body remembers all the visceral moments tied to your favorite pop songs."[2] The song "Legendary" was written in memory of Kobe Bryant.[1] Gibson describes "One Step Closer" as a "throwback style of Dua Lipa and Kylie Minogue."[2] "Strings" focuses on "putting self-love above everything."[6]
Among the album's 15 tracks is "Lost in Your Eyes, the Duet" a new recording of Gibson's 1989 hit single with Joey McIntyre. The duo first performed the song together during New Kids on the Block's Mixtape Tour in 2019.[1][2][3][4] The single was released on streaming services on June 4 while the official music video was uploaded on Gibson's YouTube channel on July 1.[7] On July 12, Gibson announced "One Step Closer" as the album's second single.[8] The official track listing was revealed on July 16.

Prisoner (known in the UK and US as Prisoner: Cell Block H) is an Australian television soap opera, created by Reg Watson, which broadcast on Network Ten from February 1979 to December 1986, lasting eight seasons and 692 episodes.
The series was produced by the Grundy Organisation and was filmed at the then Network Ten Melbourne Studios at Nunawading, and on location. Mandatory disease testing doesn’t make sense clinically or ethically, said AMA (NSW) President, Dr Danielle McMullen, who is scheduled to appear at the Law and Justice Committee hearing on Mandatory Disease Testing today.
The hearing is being held as part of the Law and Justice Committee’s Inquiry into the Mandatory Disease Testing Bill, which would enforce mandatory disease testing on individuals whose bodily fluids have come in contact with frontline workers.
“While the risk of transmission is extremely low, we acknowledge the seriousness of blood-borne viruses and the depth of concern that exists among frontline workers about the risk of potential exposure," Dr McMullen said.
"However, there is no clinical rationale for mandatory disease testing."
Clinical evidence shows that the risk of Hepatitis B, Hepatitis C and HIV transmission from a known positive source through blood and saliva to unbroken skin and skin-to-skin contact is zero. There have been no published cases of spitting causing HIV transmission. There have been no published cases of HIV transmission in Australia through spitting or biting.

Allowing conspiracies to circulate can have deadly consequences. Five people, including one police officer, died when insurrectionists attempted the coup on the Capitol.
It’s natural and understandable to feel angry, frustrated, or saddened by these events. Experts urge us to take a step back and consider why people believe conspiracy theories and to examine our own vulnerabilities, particularly during uncertain times.
“When people feel threatened and out of control, it’s natural to want to feel more control and bring order to the randomness by resorting to conspiracy theories,” says John Cook, PhD, founder of the website Skeptical Science and co-author of “The Conspiracy Theory Handbook.”
That doesn’t mean we should enable conspiracy theories to continue or that people who break the law in the name of these theories shouldn’t face consequences.
But experts say that by stepping back and evaluating what makes these theories seem plausible to certain people, we can engage in a more productive dialogue.
We can also protect ourselves from engaging in conversations about conspiracy theories at the expense of our mental health.
The Eurovision Song Contest 2021 is set to be the 65th edition of the Eurovision Song Contest. The contest will be held in Rotterdam, the Netherlands, following the country's victory at the 2019 contest with the song "Arcade" by Duncan Laurence. The Netherlands was due to host the 2020 contest, before it was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. It will be the fifth time that the Netherlands hosts the contest, having previously done so in 1958, 1970, 1976 and 1980.
Organised by the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) and host broadcasters Nederlandse Publieke Omroep (NPO), Nederlandse Omroep Stichting (NOS) and AVROTROS, the contest will be held at Rotterdam Ahoy and will consist of two semi-finals on 18 and 20 May, and the final on 22 May 2021. The EBU discussed carryovers between the 2020 and 2021 contests, and many participating countries allocated the same artists who were due to represent them in 2020. The three live shows will be hosted by Chantal Janzen, Edsilia Rombley, Jan Smit and Nikkie de Jager.
Thirty-nine countries will participate in the contest. Bulgaria and Ukraine will return after their absences from the 2019 contest, while Hungary and Montenegro will not return after their 2019 participation. Armenia and Belarus had originally planned to participate, but Armenia later withdrew due to social and political crises following the 2020 Nagorno-Karabakh war and Belarus was disqualified after their intended entry was found to be in violation of the contest's rules.

The Abbey Road Sessions is an orchestral compilation album by Australian singer Kylie Minogue, released on 24 October 2012 by Parlophone. The album was primarily produced by Steve Anderson and Colin Elliot. The album features 16 tracks, all radically reworked, spanning Minogue's 25 years in the music industry. I'm Breathless: Music from and Inspired by the Film Dick Tracy is an album by American singer and songwriter Madonna,[1] released on May 22, 1990 by Sire Records to accompany the film Dick Tracy. The album contains three songs written by Stephen Sondheim, which were used in the film, in addition to several songs written by Madonna that were inspired by but not included in the film. Madonna starred as Breathless Mahoney alongside her then-boyfriend Warren Beatty who played the title role, Dick Tracy. After filming was complete, Madonna began work on the album, with Sondheim, producer Patrick Leonard and engineer Bill Bottrell. She also worked with producer Shep Pettibone on the album's first single, "Vogue". The album was recorded in three weeks, at Johnny Yuma Recording and Ocean Way Studios, in Los Angeles, California. Despite being Madonna's fifth full-length release of new material, I'm Breathless is not considered a standard studio album.[2][3]
Musically, I'm Breathless consists predominantly of jazz, swing and pop songs. The tracks reflected Madonna's showgirl personality and were influenced by her relationship with Beatty. The singer wanted to create music that would fit the style and production of the film, set in the days of the Untouchables law enforcement, and sang the songs accordingly. In some areas she pitched her vocals and belted the notes when necessary. She smoked cigarettes in order to portray the vocals of her character Breathless. Beatty and singer Mandy Patinkin were featured as duet partners on three of the songs.
In support of both I'm Breathless and her previous album, Like a Prayer, Madonna embarked on the Blond Ambition World Tour where a section was dedicated to the songs from the album. It was critically acclaimed, winning an award at the 1990 Pollstar Concert Industry Awards. However, due to its use of Catholic imagery, Pope John Paul II called for a boycott of the show. After the tour was over, Madonna performed songs from the album at the 1990 MTV Video Music Awards and the 1991 Academy Awards. "Vogue", the first single from I'm Breathless, became one of Madonna's most successful releases, reaching number one in over 30 countries. It was also critically acclaimed and was seen as an influential song, while the video helped to bring vogueing into mainstream popularity. The second and final single, "Hanky Panky", was a top-ten hit in the United States and the United Kingdom.
Music critics applauded the Sondheim numbers, along with Madonna's vocals and versatility. However, some deemed the non-film songs to be of little value. "Sooner or Later", one of the Sondheim tracks, went on to win the Academy Award for Best Original Song. I'm Breathless was commercially successful, peaking at number one on the European Top 100 Albums, as well as the national charts of Australia, Germany, and Japan—in the latter it became the country's best-selling foreign album of the year. It also reached number two on the US Billboard 200 chart and was certified double platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). I'm Breathless has sold more than seven million copies worldwide.

Within the turbulent past several years, the idea that a person can be “canceled” — in other words, culturally blocked from having a prominent public platform or career — has become a polarizing topic of debate. The rise of “cancel culture” and the idea of canceling someone coincides with a familiar pattern: A celebrity or other public figure does or says something offensive. A public backlash, often fueled by politically progressive social media, ensues. Then come the calls to cancel the person — that is, to effectively end their career or revoke their cultural cachet, whether through boycotts of their work or disciplinary action from an employer.
The argument that this phenomenon has spun out of control loomed over the RNC during its first few days of programming. Prior to the first night of speakers, delegates voted for a number of resolutions in meetings that were closed to the press, one of which specifically targeted cancel culture. The resolution described “cancel culture” as having “grown into erasing of history, encouraging lawlessness, muting citizens, and violating free exchange of ideas, thoughts, and speech.”

He began his performing career at Whitney Young Magnet High School, where he was in dance classes with the previous First Lady of the United States, Michelle Obama.[2] After high school, he eventually became a principal dancer in Hubbard Street Dance Chicago.[3]

HIStory: Past, Present and Future, Book I is the ninth studio album by American singer Michael Jackson, released on June 20, 1995. It was the fifth Jackson album released through Epic Records, and the first on his label MJJ Productions. It comprises two discs: HIStory Begins, a greatest hits compilation, and HIStory Continues, comprising new material written and produced by Jackson and collaborators. The album includes appearances by Janet Jackson, Shaquille O'Neal, Slash and the Notorious B.I.G. The genres span R&B, pop, hip hop, elements of hard rock and funk rock. The themes include environmental awareness, isolation, greed, suicide, injustice, and Jackson's conflicts and common-ground with the media.
Starting in the late 1980s, Jackson and the tabloid press had a difficult relationship. In 1993, the relationship between Jackson and the press collapsed when he was accused of child sexual abuse. Although he was not charged, Jackson was subject to intense media scrutiny while the criminal investigation took place. Several of the album's 15 new songs pertain to the child sexual abuse allegations made against him in 1993 and Jackson's perceived mistreatment by the media, mainly the tabloids. Because of this, HIStory has been described as Jackson's most "personal" album.
HIStory debuted at number one on the Billboard 200, among nineteen other countries. Six singles were released, including the protest songs "Earth Song" and "They Don't Care About Us". "Scream", a duet between Jackson and his sister Janet, became the first song to debut in the top five on the Billboard Hot 100, reaching number five. "You Are Not Alone" was the first song in history to debut at number one on the Billboard Hot 100; it was Jackson's final number-one single on that chart. Though the album received generally positive reviews, the lyrics of "They Don't Care About Us" drew accusations of antisemitism, to which Jackson responded that the lines had been misinterpreted and replaced them on later pressings.
Jackson embarked on the HIStory World Tour, which grossed $165 million (equivalent to $268 million in 2019), making it the highest-grossing solo concert tour of the 1990s. It was Jackson's third and final concert tour as a solo artist. The album has sold over 20 million copies worldwide, making it one of the best-selling albums of all time, and the best-selling multi-disc album. In August 2018, it was certified 8× platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). It was nominated for five Grammy Awards at the 1996 Grammy Awards, including Album of the Year, winning Best Music Video – Short Form for "Scream". Hasbro has announced plans to change key features of iconic board game Monopoly to make it better reflect a "new sense of community".
The game, which has been around for the past 85 years, has undergone many changes over the years, including changes to pieces, versions for every country, and even a chocolate version.
The company confirmed the change, tweeting: "Yup, you read that right: THE MONOPOLY GAME is changing, and YOU get to be a part of it. Help us add a little community to the Community Chest by voting for your favourite new cards now!"

Girl is the third studio album by Australian singer Dannii Minogue. It was released by Eternal Records on 8 September 1997 in the United Kingdom. Four singles were released to promote the album including the UK Dance Chart number ones "All I Wanna Do", "Everything I Wanted", "Disremembrance" and the Australian-only single, "Coconut". Kevin Alexander Stea (born October 17, 1969) is an American dancer, choreographer, actor, singer, director and model. He has worked as a dancer and choreographer with a number of high-profile artists, including Madonna, Lady Gaga and Michael Jackson, and has appeared in several movies and television shows.
Stea was an assistant choreographer and dance captain for Madonna's Blond Ambition Tour in 1990, and subsequently appeared in the 1991 documentary film Madonna: Truth or Dare.[1][2][3] In January 1992, along with fellow dancers Oliver Crumes and Gabriel Trupin, Stea filed a lawsuit in the Los Angeles Superior Court against Madonna's production company Boy Toy Inc, Miramax Films and Propaganda Films, alleging fraud and invasion of privacy as a result of the documentary.[4][5][6][7][8] Because of the international notoriety of Madonna, the suit became a pervasive media topic with Stea discussed in the news and appearing on talk shows such as Maury Povich.[9] After more than two years of litigation, the suit was withdrawn in October 1994 and an undisclosed settlement was reached.[10]
While the suit made its way through the courts, Stea went on to lay out a solid foundation for his professional career: appearing in the role of Swifty The Rake in the Disney musical Newsies, touring in the Glorious Revolution tour with Japanese pop-star Seiko Matsuda, and working with Michael Jackson by appearing in the iconic MTV 10th Anniversary live performance of Will You Be There 1991, and then going on to serve as the associate choreographer for the official videos Black or White and Blood on the Dance Floor.

LONDON — Buckingham Palace’s highly anticipated response to Prince Harry and Meghan’s explosive interview with Oprah Winfrey this week has done little to dampen interest in a story still sending shockwaves across the United Kingdom.
Despite the queen’s plea Tuesday night for the couple’s allegations to be “addressed by the family privately,” her 61-word statement has not curbed the insatiable appetite of the British press and members of the public.
British newspapers were on Wednesday still dominated by the public rift, unpacking the meaning behind every line of the palace’s carefully-crafted statement.
Prince Harry told Oprah Winfrey that the UK tabloid media is "bigoted" and creates a "toxic environment" of "control and fear".
He said he thought the Prince of Wales had to "make peace with it".
The Society of Editors said the media is not bigoted and is holding the "rich and powerful to account".
Meghan said social media had made the relationship with the press like "the wild, wild West" and said the Royal Family's press operation failed to defend her and Harry from untrue stories.

The soundtrack of the film The Sound of Music was released in 1965 by RCA Victor and is one of the most successful soundtrack albums in history, having sold more than 20 million copies worldwide.[1][2] The label has also issued the soundtrack in German, Italian, Spanish and French editions.[citation needed]
The soundtrack reached the number one position on the Billboard 200 that year in the United States,[3] remained in the top ten for a record 109 weeks, from May 1, 1965 to July 16, 1967,[4][5] and remained on the Billboard 200 chart for 238 weeks.[3] In 2015, Billboard named the original soundtrack album the second-best charting album of all time.[6][7] It was the best-selling album in the United Kingdom in 1965, 1966 and 1968 and the second best-selling of the decade, spending a total of 70 weeks at number one on the UK Albums Chart.[8] The album also stayed for 73 weeks on the Norwegian charts, and as of December 2017 it is the tenth best-charting album of all time in that country.[9]
The album has been reissued several times, including anniversary editions in 1995, 2000, 2005, 2010, and 2015. These CD editions incorporate musical material from the film that would not fit on the original LP.[10]
Three songs from the original Broadway production, "An Ordinary Couple", "How Can Love Survive?", and "No Way to Stop It" were replaced, in the film, with two new songs, "I Have Confidence" and "Something Good". For the original Broadway show, the music was written by Richard Rodgers with lyrics by Oscar Hammerstein II; both the lyrics and music for the new songs were written by Rodgers, as Hammerstein died in 1960.[11] All songs were arranged and conducted for the soundtrack by Irwin Kostal.[11]
In 2018, it was selected for preservation in the National Recording Registry by the Library of Congress as being "culturally, historically, or artistically significant.

I’ve written about how at an event years ago, Christina Crawford suggested that mommie dearest Joan Crawford killed her last hubby, Pepsi head Alfred Steele, but Christina didn’t get to elaborate as to just what she meant by that.
When I cornered her after her talk to ask for some expansion on the horror she’d hinted at, Christina–signing books at the time–replied, “I’m doing this now.”
Well, last night I saw her show Surviving Mommie Dearest, which includes a documentary with Christina telling stories about Mommie’s manic manipulations and abuses, then coming out to field a few questions from the audience. And she elaborated.
And what she said effectively wiped away what all the apologists have conjectured for years–that mommie merely drove Steele to a heart attack by making him batty and anxious. Oh, no, kids. It’s way worse than that.
In the doc, Tina describes how Steele was found dead at the bottom of the grand stairway in the house.
“I didn’t believe it was an accident,” she asserts, knowingly.
“I know what Mommie was capable of in a state of rage.”
Eek. She was implying Joan was a real-life villainess fresh out of the type of film noir Joan often played the heroine of. Mommie did like to push, after all.
“There was no autopsy,” added Christina, austerely. “He was cremated.”

Kylie Minogue is the fifth studio album to be recorded by Australian singer Kylie Minogue. It was released in the United Kingdom on 19 September 1994 by Deconstruction, and in Australia by Mushroom Records. After leaving Pete Waterman Entertainment, Minogue wanted to establish credibility for herself and signed with independent label Deconstruction in early 1993. Minogue became involved with a diverse group of collaborators in order to experiment with different sounds. After unsuccessful sessions with Saint Etienne and The Rapino Brothers, Minogue went on to collaborate with new producers including Brothers in Rhythm, M People, Farley & Heller, and Jimmy Harry.
Musically, Kylie Minogue is a dance-pop album that contains elements of electronic dance, R&B and adult contemporary music. Minogue showcases her voice range in the midtempo tracks, with lyrics about love, seduction, womanhood, and enjoyment of life. Music critics praised the production and Minogue's vocals, deeming it the start of a new phase of her career. It experienced moderate success worldwide, peaked in the top 5 in the United Kingdom and Australia, and was certified gold in both countries. The album also attaining top 40 positions in Sweden, Switzerland, and Scotland. Emotions is the second studio album by American singer-songwriter and producer Mariah Carey. It was released on September 17, 1991, by Columbia Records. The album deviated from the formula of Carey's 1990 self-titled debut album, as she had more creative control over the material she produced and recorded. Additionally, Emotions features influences from a range of genres such as gospel, R&B, soul and 1950s, 1960s and 1970s balladry infusion. On the record, Carey worked with a variety of producers and writers, including Walter Afanasieff, the only holdover from her previous effort. Additionally, Carey wrote and produced the album's material with Robert Clivillés and David Cole from C+C Music Factory and Carole King, with whom she wrote one song.
Upon its release, Emotions received generally mixed reviews from contemporary music critics. The album debuted at number four on the Billboard 200, surprising many critics following the success of Carey's debut, which spent eleven weeks atop the chart. While selling far less than Mariah Carey, Emotions was eventually certified 4× Platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA), denoting shipments of four million copies throughout the country, with estimated sales standing at 3,595,000 copies. Emotions achieved moderate success outside the United States, peaking within the top ten in Australia, Canada, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway and the United Kingdom. Three commercial singles were released from the album. On the night of November 14, 1991, 500 million people scattered across 27 nations simultaneously watched Michael Jackson grab his crotch 17 times. No one ever had more juice than Jackson did at the time, and it’s difficult to imagine that anyone ever will again.

Let's Get to It is the fourth studio album by Australian recording artist Kylie Minogue. It was the final studio album required to fulfill her contract with Pete Waterman Limited (PWL), being released by the record label in the United Kingdom on 14 October 1991. Mushroom Records distributed the album in Australia on 25 November 1991. After Matt Aitken left the trio Stock Aitken Waterman (SAW) in early 1991, the remaining producers wanted to make another album with Minogue, although it was not a contractual obligation for her. Mike Stock and Pete Waterman agreed to share their songwriting credits with Minogue for the first time on six tracks. They spent months recording at PWL Studios, more time than any of her previous studio albums.
Musically, Let's Get to It varies in sound, with it including hip hop, new jack swing, house and dance-pop genres. Music critics provided mixed reviews, recognising Minogue's creative control, and her provocative image despite them being ambivalent towards the production. The album is one of Minogue's least successful studio albums to date, missing the top 10 in both her native Australia and the UK. Nonetheless, it has since been certified gold in Australia by the Australian Recording Industry Association (ARIA).
Four singles were released from Let's Get to It, including UK top 10 entries "If You Were with Me Now" and "Give Me Just a Little More Time". The other singles, "Word Is Out" and "Finer Feelings", attained top 20 positions in the UK. Minogue further promoted the album with her Let's Get to It Tour, which traveled throughout Europe in October and November of 1991. It was re-issued in the UK for the first time in 2015.

Minogue started to become more involved in the writing and production of the album. Recording sessions took place in London and Los Angeles during early-to-mid 1990. Minogue was credited as co-writer for the first time while Stock Aitken Waterman (SAW) were the primary producers along with new producers and collaborations, including Keith Cohen, Stephen Bray and Michael Jay.
Rhythm of Love is a musical departure from Minogue's earlier bubblegum pop records, and has a more sexually liberated image and dance-influenced sound. It received generally positive reviews from music critics, being complimented as her best work with SAW. The album was not as commercially successful as Minogue's previous albums, becoming her first studio album not to reach number one in the UK, reaching number nine on the UK Albums Chart. Enjoy Yourself is the second studio album by Australian recording artist Kylie Minogue, released on 9 October 1989 by Pete Waterman Entertainment (PWE) and Mushroom Records. In the United States, it was released in 1990 by Geffen Records. Following the success of her self-titled debut album, Minogue reunited with the producers Stock Aitken Waterman, who produced and wrote nine of the album's ten tracks, in London in February 1989. The recording sessions took place there from February until July, coinciding with Minogue filming her first feature film The Delinquents.
Enjoy Yourself is a bubblegum pop, dance-pop, and disco album that discusses mainly romantic relationships. It received mixed reviews from music critics, who criticised its similarity with her debut release. In the United Kingdom, it debuted at number one with pre-sales of over 600,000 copies and became the sixth best-selling album of 1989. The album was certified four times platinum by the British Phonographic Industry (BPI) in January 1990. It also peaked in the top ten in Ireland, Germany, Switzerland, Norway, Australia and New Zealand. It failed to find an audience in the United States, and Minogue was dropped as an act by Geffen Records.
Four singles were released from the album, including UK chart-toppers "Hand on Your Heart" and "Tears on My Pillow". Two other singles, "Wouldn't Change a Thing" and "Never Too Late" peaked in the top five. All four peaked in the top twenty in Australia and Ireland. The album was promoted further through Minogue's first and second concert tours, Disco in Dream (1989) and the Enjoy Yourself Tour (1990), which traveled to Australia, Britain and Asia. Future Nostalgia is the second studio album by English singer Dua Lipa, released on 27 March 2020 by Warner Records. Lipa enlisted writers and producers such as Jeff Bhasker, Ian Kirkpatrick, Stuart Price, The Monsters & Strangerz, and Koz in order to create a "nostalgic" pop and disco record with influences from dance-pop and electronic music, inspired by the music that Lipa enjoyed during her childhood.
The album spawned five singles, along with the title track, which was released as a promotional single. "Don't Start Now" was released on 31 October 2019, as the album's lead single, attaining both critical and commercial success. Janet Jackson's Rhythm Nation 1814 (commonly referred to as Rhythm Nation 1814 or simply Rhythm Nation) is the fourth studio album by American singer Janet Jackson, released on September 19, 1989, by A&M Records. Although label executives wanted material similar to her previous album, Control (1986), Jackson insisted on creating a concept album addressing social issues. Collaborating with songwriters and record producers Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis, she drew inspiration from various tragedies reported through news media, exploring racism, poverty, and substance abuse, in addition to themes of romance.
Noted for its use of sample loop and utilizing swing note and synthesized percussion throughout its production, Rhythm Nation encompasses a variety of musical styles, such as new jack swing, hard rock, pop, dance and industrial music. What's Your Pleasure? is the fourth studio album by English singer-songwriter Jessie Ware. Featuring twelve tracks that focus mostly in various electronic and dance music genres, such as disco, hi-NRG, and house, Ware described the album as a "two-year labour of love" upon her release announcement in February 2020, further citing the album as her visions of "escapism [and] groove", wanting to move away from her usual "melancholy" sound in her previous releases.
With Ware and fellow English musician James Ford co-writing (the latter whom also co-producing) all twelve tracks, the duo eventually enlisted writers and producers such as Benji B, Joseph Mount, Kindness, Morgan Geist, Matthew Tavares, and Midland to pay homage to what the duo called "wedding jams", along with the soul of late American singer-songwriter Minnie Riperton, and "weirdo New York City boogie/underground disco".[6] Originally scheduled to be released on 5 June 2020, the album was instead released on 26 June 2020 by PMR Records, Interscope and Virgin EMI, making it her first major release in nearly three years since Glasshouse (2017), and subsequently her first release after giving birth to her second child.
Upon its release, What's Your Pleasure? received critical acclaim; Ware was praised for "going back to where she started" and the album's "disco-inspired" sound also received praise, with critics further citing the album as her "finest" work and Ware sounding "bolder, looser" comparing to her previous releases. It was also a commercial success for the singer in her native country, earning Ware her first top-three entry and to date, her highest peak position on both the UK Albums Chart and Scottish Albums Chart. Five singles have been released to promote the album, with Ware promoted the songs heavily through at-home performances and aired by several television programs due to the COVID-19 pandemic. International air travellers will in future need to prove they have been vaccinated against Covid-19 in order to board Qantas flights, the airline says.
The Australian flag carrier's boss, Alan Joyce, said the move would be "a necessity" when vaccines are available.
"I think that's going to be a common thing talking to my colleagues in other airlines around the globe," he said.
Australia shut down its international borders early in the pandemic and required those returning to quarantine.
The country has more recently relied on lockdowns, widespread testing and aggressive contact tracing to push daily infections nationwide close to zero.
In an interview with Australia's Nine Network on Monday, Mr Joyce said Qantas was looking at ways of changing its terms and conditions for international travellers as the industry, which has been hit hard by travel restrictions, looks at ways of moving forward.
"We will ask people to have a vaccination before they can get on the aircraft... for international visitors coming out and people leaving the country we think that's a necessity," he told the broadcaster.

It was also a worldwide success, reaching number one in New Zealand, and the top ten in Australia and several countries in Europe.
In late 2013, a 25th Anniversary 3-CD remastered and expanded edition of Push was released on the Cherry Pop record label, a subsidiary of Cherry Red Records. The song "Silent Night", originally released as a double A-side single with "Cat Among the Pigeons", was included on the expanded edition, as well as B-sides and remixes from the five singles that were released from the album.

American Life is the ninth studio album by American singer and songwriter Madonna. It was released on April 21, 2003, by Maverick Records and Warner Bros. Records. The album, produced by Madonna and Mirwais Ahmadzaï, features references to many parts of American culture. The album is a concept album, with themes of the American Dream and materialism. These themes reject the reputation Madonna held in the 1980s, earned by songs such as her worldwide hit "Material Girl" (1985). The album is a folk and folktronica album; as well, it is influenced by acoustic music.
American Life initially received mixed reviews; critics found the record confusing and "about Madonna". The album peaked at number one in fourteen countries. The Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) and British Phonographic Industry (BPI) both certified it platinum in recognition of one million shipments in the United States, and 300,000 shipments in the United Kingdom, respectively. The album became the 32nd-best-selling album of 2003 and has sold five million copies to date. American Life garnered two nominations at the 46th Grammy Awards in 2004.
Four singles were released from the album. The title track was released as the album's lead single to a generally negative critical reception, with Blender naming it the ninth worst song of all time. It charted at number 37 in the US while it entered the top ten in most countries, peaking at number two in the United Kingdom. A controversial music video was pulled after scenes of war and violence were criticized which led to an edited version being released. Its following single, "Hollywood", became her first single not to chart on the Billboard Hot 100 since 1983. "Nothing Fails" and "Love Profusion", the third and fourth singles respectively, featured a lack of promotion resulting in poor commercial performances. Despite this, all singles peaked at number one on Billboard's Dance Club Songs chart.
Madonna promoted the album during a small promotional tour in April and May 2003. At the 2003 MTV Video Music Awards, she performed alongside Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera and Missy Elliott a medley of "Like a Virgin" and "Hollywood" and engaged in open-mouth kissing with Aguilera and Spears gaining great controversy and publicity. American Life was supported by Madonna's sixth concert tour, the Re-Invention World Tour, which was the highest grossing tour of 2004 earning $125 million. MDNA is the twelfth studio album by American singer Madonna, released on March 23, 2012, by Interscope Records. The album was conceived while the singer was busy throughout 2011 with filming her directorial venture, W.E. Madonna started the recording in July 2011 and collaborated with a variety of producers such as Alle Benassi, Benny Benassi, Demolition Crew, Free School, Michael Malih, Indiigo, William Orbit, and Martin Solveig, the last two serving as primary producers of the record.
The recording process was smooth although Madonna found difficulty working with Benny Benassi who did not speak fluent English and had to use his cousin Alle Benassi as interpreter. A dance-pop, electropop, electro house, Eurodance, EDM and Euro house record, MDNA consists of upbeat songs which lyrically explore themes of partying, love for music, infatuation, as well as heartbreak, revenge and separation. The album's title is a triple entendre and its allusion to MDMA drew negative reception from anti-drug groups.
MDNA was Madonna's first release under the 360 deal she had signed with Live Nation in 2007 and the three-album deal with Interscope in 2012. The record received promotion from Madonna's performance at Super Bowl XLVI halftime show as well as The MDNA Tour, the latter becoming one of the highest-grossing tours of all time. Four singles were released—"Give Me All Your Luvin'", "Girl Gone Wild", "Masterpiece" and "Turn Up the Radio". Its first single reached number ten on the Billboard Hot 100, thereby extending Madonna's record as the artist with the most top-ten singles in that chart's history.

Martin Lynes is known for his work as Dr. Luke Forlano on All Saints, an Australian hospital drama. On the series he tried many times to become the Chief medical officer but failed. He was primarily a surgeon but spent time helping in ward 17. He has also played Rick Gallager in Sea Patrol. Lynes currently plays Coach Simmo who runs the surf academy Solar Blue for budding pro surfers in Blue Water High, shown on ABC Australia. Lynes has also had roles in the now defunct McLeod's Daughters and as the head of an advertising company in the popular TV drama Packed to the Rafters.
Lynes joined the cast of Home and Away in 2012 as villain Adam Sharpe.[2]
In August 2017 he was found guilty of sexual assault. He received a custodial sentence.

Like a Virgin is the second studio album by American singer and songwriter Madonna, released on November 12, 1984, by Sire Records. Following the success of her self-titled debut album, Madonna wanted to become the record producer of her next album. However, her label was not ready to give her the artistic freedom and she chose Nile Rodgers instead to produce the album due to his work with David Bowie. Madonna wrote six songs on the record, five of which feature Steve Bray as a co-writer. The album was recorded at Power Station Studio in New York at a quick pace. Rodgers enlisted the help of his former Chic bandmates Bernard Edwards, who was the bassist, and Tony Thompson, who played drums. Jason Corsaro, the record's audio engineer, persuaded Rodgers to use digital recording, a new technique introduced at that time.
The album's photographs were shot by Steven Meisel. Madonna wanted the album title and the cover image to make a provocative link between her own religious name Madonna, as the Roman Catholic title for Jesus' mother Mary, and the Christian concept of the virgin birth. WOW! is the fourth album by Bananarama, released in September 1987. The album was entirely produced and co-written with the Stock Aitken Waterman production trio and is the last album by the girl group to generate significant chart hits. Tensions between group member Siobhan Fahey and Stock, Aitken and Waterman regarding songwriting input and lyrical content (particularly with the track "Strike it Rich"[citation needed]) prompted Fahey's departure from Bananarama five months after its release. By the time the album's fourth single, "I Want You Back", was released in March 1988, Fahey had been replaced with Jacquie O'Sullivan, who re-recorded the vocals for the single version of the song. Fahey would resurface later in 1988 with her new band, Shakespears Sister.
While the album was a moderate success in both the UK and the US, it was a particularly big hit in Australia, where it topped the charts.[3] The album was certified gold in the UK.[1]

Madonna (retitled Madonna: The First Album for the 1985 re-release) is the debut studio album by American singer-songwriter Madonna, released on July 27, 1983 by Sire Records. After having established herself as a singer in downtown New York City, Madonna was signed by Sire president Seymour Stein, due to the success of her debut single, "Everybody" (1982). She became the sole writer for most of the album's tracks, and chose Reggie Lucas as its primary producer. Unhappy with Lucas's production outputs, she invited John "Jellybean" Benitez to complete the album, who remixed three tracks and produced "Holiday".
Madonna has an upbeat synthetic disco sound, using new technology of the time, including the Linn drum machine, Moog bass and Oberheim OB-X synthesizer. She sang in a bright, girlish timbre, with lyrics about love and relationships. To promote the album, Madonna performed one-off gigs in clubs and on television in the United States and United Kingdom throughout 1983 and 1984, followed by The Virgin Tour in 1985. Confessions on a Dance Floor is the tenth studio album by American singer and songwriter Madonna. It was released on November 15, 2005, by Warner Bros. Records. A complete departure from her previous studio album American Life (2003), the album includes influences of 1970s and 1980s disco, as well as modern-day club music. Initially, she began working with Mirwais Ahmadzaï for the album but later felt that their collaboration was not going in the direction she desired. Madonna took her collaboration with Stuart Price who was overviewing her documentary I'm Going to Tell You a Secret. The album was mainly recorded at Price's home-studio where Madonna spent most of her time during the recordings.

Zoe Buhler, 28, was yesterday charged with inciting a protest against COVID-19 restrictions in Ballarat’s CBD.
The video on her Facebook page had already been viewed more than 1.4 million times in the space of four hours by Wednesday night, climbing to 4.6 million views early this morning.
Ms Buhler has since been banned from posting on Facebook as one of her bail conditions but has been doing the rounds on media this morning.
Speaking to reporters outside her home this morning, Ms Buhler claimed she “didn’t realise” the protest wasn’t allowed.
