A. W. Jackson is the author of Madame Voodoo which introduces us to Nkechi, a young voodoo witch, is unsure what to expect. Alone in New York, and still coming to terms with the death of her mother, Nkechi worries that she will struggle to keep her magic hidden, and is afraid that her mortal classmates will reject her quirky personality.
A. W. Jackson says as a child, he loved reading and he has many fond memories of wanting to get a new book each time he went food shopping with his dad. With persuasion, his dad would buy the book, and whether it be Francesca Simon or Roald Dahl, as soon as it was scanned through the register, A. W. Jackson would start reading it. In hindsight, it was probably annoying to both the cashier and his dad, as he probably should’ve helped to pack the bags.
Sadly, his passion for reading fizzled out during high school. A mix of steady bullying and being forced to read certain books for curriculum really made reading feel like a chore. As he went to college and pursued becoming a chef, he started his first novel Madame Voodoo. As a member of the LGBT+ community, he's often felt overlooked and under-represented by characters who purely existed to either check a box or provide comedic relief at their own expense. Once he noticed there were many other minority groups in the same situation, he wanted to create captivating stories with these overlooked and exploited groups at the forefront.

Sally Mills was born and raised in rural North Wales, where she was inspired by her bucolic surroundings leading to a fascination with the natural world. A healthy obsession with wildlife and nature has dominated her life and has continued to do so to this day in rural Somerset.
Swapping Somerset security for tropical tempestuousness. Island to Island por-trays a rare insight into a dynamic and challenging, yet privileged existence living amongst a million seabirds and some of the rarest wildlife in the world. A nature lover’s dream, to manage a tropical island nature reserve in Seychelles, just one mile long by half a mile wide, six nautical miles from the mainland, with no electricity or running water. However, from star-filled skies to merciless mon-soons, deadly pisonia to devastating poaching, turbulent seas to tumultuous staff, existence became dominated by an eclectic mix of emotional turmoil.

Mike Read has been a broadcaster for over 40 years. He spent 5 years presenting the BBC Radio 1 breakfast show from 1981 and has worked for a number of other radio stations.
As a TV presenter, he’s best known for Saturday Superstore and the music game show Pop Quiz. He’s currently the breakfast show presenter for the mainly online station, United DJs, which was launched last April.

Boomy the Bittern is a beautifully illustrated children’s book, designed to engage young readers in wildlife conservation in a fun and interactive way. When nature-lover Pam Earnshaw was searching for a book to assist with teaching the early years about preserving the environment and endangered species, she was shocked by the lack of material available. Determined to address this, she worked with wildlife artist Sally Mills to produce and release Boomy the Bittern.

Tony Auffret is the author of the novels 'The Death of A Smoker' and 'Unsavoury Business.' Tony says: “Growing up in a one parent family on a northern council estate, I was lucky enough to
make it to university, when most kids didn’t, thanks to a full student grant. A joint honours degree in botany and chemistry was followed by a PhD in molecular biology. Professionally, I became a bit of a nomad by dint of fixed term contracts and serial redundancies. Along the way I worked in academia and industry, alongside Nobel laureates, and in companies ranging in size from a two-man business to multinational conglomerates, and co-authored a scientific text book.
“A third formal redundancy persuaded me to start my own consultancy business in the area of freeze drying. As that business began to wind down, and as a carer for my late wife who had a chronic pain issue, I found myself looking for something to do in the mornings. I had always thought that the events that happened during my time with a small biopreservation start-up company would make a good story one day, and I took the opportunity to write my first novel, The Death of a Smoker (Cranthorpe Millner Publishers, 28 June 2022). Unable to find a satisfactory way of dealing with the suspected villain, I allowed him to escape. Unsavoury Business picks up the tale and the trail, four years later.”

Olivia Barker White is the CEO and co-Founder of Kids Club Kampala, a UK charity helping vulnerable kids in the slums of Uganda to survive and thrive. Providing for both their immediate needs and strengthening their futures through educating, feeding, protecting and skilling. Their vision is to see lives transformed, communities empowered and poverty reduced throughout Uganda.
Over the last 12 years they have provided 45 million meals to hungry children and families; free education for 1,000 children; counselling for 3,000 vulnerable young people; vital income generation skills training for 850 individuals; rescued 155 children from abandonment and abuse; reunited 83 children with loving families; and supported over 300,000 people across all their projects so far. They work in partnership with their team in Uganda who passionately lead and implement their projects which are a life line to some of the most vulnerable children in the world. Kampala’s slums are notorious for drug and alcohol abuse, violent crime, overcrowding, poor sanitation, insufficient shelter and food insecurity. Many children have been orphaned, neglected or simply abandoned as a result of abject poverty. They are passionate about protecting and empowering these children, letting them know they are loved and helping them to overcome their situations of poverty. Kike Oniwinde Agoro, is the Founder and CEO of BYP Network, a platform that connects black professionals to each other and corporations. She is a BSc Economics graduate of The University of Nottingham, University of Florida MSc scholar, and an ex-Great Britain javelin thrower.

After battling with mental health problems for many years, GP Dr. Francis DaSilva’s life plunged into despair due to emotional stress and work overload and he piled on more than five stone in weight. He felt like he had finally hit rock bottom when his wife left him.

Married to a NHS doctor with 3 young children, Councillor White moved to Withington in 1997. He was a voluntary youth and community worker with a local charity for many years in Old Moat and joined the Labour Party in 2004.
In that time Councillor Gavin White has helped set up the Friends of Old Moat Park group in 2002, and has been a governor at Old Moat Primary School since 2005. Alongside the Old Moat Labour councillors, he helped the school to get a new building that opened in 2012 with funding agreed in the final days of the last Labour government.
He was elected as a Labour councillor for Old Moat in 2018 and continues to be actively involved in the Old Moat community with many local residents groups.

Coach Paul Easton, founder of Drills & Skills Basketball Training, originally hails from Scotland. He moved to the US in 2005 and was a varsity assistant coach with Bishop O'Connell High School, VA for six seasons. With his mentor Joe Wootten, Coach Paul helped O'Connell win Virginia State Independent Schools Championship in 2005 and 2009.

Denis Onyango is the Programmes Director at Africa Advocacy Foundation (AAF) a registered charity founded in 1996 with the aim of supporting and empowering vulnerable and disadvantaged people. It’s almost a year since the Manchester terror attack killing 22 people at a Ariana Grande concert. The attack brought pain and shock waves across the city but that didn’t stop the great surge in community spirit following the attack. Mancunians rallied to support those caught up in the Manchester Arena attack. Caoturing that spirit of the city was Qubek who according to CNN brought quote “Love, peace and bees to Manchester”.
