Persons with disabilities include those who have long-term physical, mental, intellectual, or sensory challenges. Interaction with various barriers may hinder their active participation in society on equal basis. Inclusion should lead to increased involvement in socially expected life roles and activities. Our podcast, Mobility & Inclusion, emphasizes the importance of making sure everybody has the same opportunities to participate in every aspect of life to the best of their abilities and desires.

Had another impactful episode with John MacLaren of Team Eagle One. We discussed brain chemistry and how we actually understand change and evolution. John explained how the human brain sees diversity and inclusion. Ultimately, everything is diverse, there's no escape from it. After active duty, as a business owner, specializing in violence prevention and response, threat assessment, fugitive and trafficked person retrieval, surveillance and counter-surveillance, weapons and tactics instructor, range safety officer, safety diver, and combat swimming instructor, and mentor and instructor in the above subjects.

John was voted one of the top 100 most influential trainers/mentors of the 20th century for my fitness and health industry work. He is the lead mentor/instructor and National Director for the U.S. Navy SEAL Candidate program. Annette was a young, healthy mother with two children, 6 and 12 years old. She exercised daily, ate a healthy diet and had no pre-existing medical conditions. At age 48, she was about to have the first surgery of her life; a hysterectomy. A common surgery that thousands of women undergo every day, and it was performed many times with success. There was nothing to worry about. The hospital staff explained to her husband that the surgery would last approximately two hours, and if everything went as expected, he could bring her home the next day. But things didn't go as expected... Annette's and her family's life was forever changed due to medical negligence. a little-known California law established 45 years ago, in 1975 set a cap on the damages that compensated patients like Annette for all she had lost due to medical negligence at $250,000. That limit for loss of a patient’s quality of life still stands today – exactly as it was written back then. Annette appears on Mobility and Inclusion and talks about how her life was impacted and how she carries on as an amputee today. Take a look here.  Learn more about your ad choices.
