Last October, the National Primary Healthcare Development Agency began a roll out in phases to include the HPV vaccine into routine immunization for girls.
16 states are part of this phase 1 and Enugu is one of them. This means girls between ages 9 and 14 will receive the HPV preventive vaccine for the first time.
The idea of this is to incorporate the preventive vaccine early and ensure no girl is left behind. The country aims to vaccinate 7.7 million girls, when the campaign began in Enugu state, it met disinformation campaign. Here's how health workers navigated that.

Conversations around mental health in Nigeria is usually fleeting and happens mostly when there's another death by suicide. Despite the importance of our mental health to our well being and productivity in the society the topic still wields stigma. This is why i decided to sound the alarm by sharing how young people are coping with mental illness, caring for their mental health and contributing to mental health awareness.
