No news, no Stooge's Corner (eek), no post credit. It's just the Fighting Turtles crew having an impromptu chat about stuff that's been happening lately. With comiket92 going on at the time of recording, we touched a bit onto the grey area within the doujin field itself, reminiscent about the effect it brings to certain fandom, and once more lament on the anime industry as a whole.

The "delay" of the second season of Shingeki no Kyojin (Attack on Titan) was a big topic back when it was announced. With the second season wrapping up the crew discuss the hurdles faced when planning a previously unplanned sequel. Also we review the second season as well.

With another season comes to an end, we sit down and get the entire crew to talk about their overall thoughts on the 2017 Winter season as a whole. Coming off the news of the false alarm, the crew dives into talking about the way the western anime community gather their resources outside of watching anime itself. We talked about the proper channels to obtain news, the pitfalls of relying MAL, and of the exploitation on the wider casual community from the likes of Youtube. Turned out kind of like a ranty episode, but there's still some good information within this discussion.

In any case, this week we tackled sports with a focus on Ping Pong: The Animation. We discuss and compare other sports shows to it (pretty unfair I know) and just wrap our heads around what makes a sports show 'good'. Before we got into that however, we talked about what's going on this season (i.e. I whine about Kuzu no Honkai).

...well, I kinda have to, otherwise there'd be no description. Anyhoo, in this episode we talk anime adaptations of video games! We're excluding Visual Novels aside from a brief mention at the start since otherwise we'd be there for a good three hours. The discussion encompasses how the anime incorporate game elements (or not), how to handle silent or not-so-silent protagonists, and just what we felt were good and bad about the adaptations we had seen. If a character is pretty much unbeatable/all-powerful/etc, where's the narrative tension?
This week, we explore this topic through some of the examples which exist in mostly action oriented anime (though we discuss non-action overpowered characters as well). What constitutes an overpowered character? How do they affect the story? How do they grow? Do they grow? All this in an hour-ish long podcast.
