The Word of God helps us rightly discern the difference:“For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.”— Hebrews 4:12 (KJV)He also references Galatians 5:16-21, showing that the lusts of the flesh are in constant opposition to the Spirit. Without the Spirit leading, the flesh pulls us away from God’s will and into sin:"Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh..."Pastor Crump reminds us that there are no fruits or gifts of the soul—only of the Spirit. To live a life that pleases God, every part of us—body, soul, and spirit—must be fully surrendered to Him.
