The BAY is a podcast by Belinda, Amanda, and Yaxin - three friends, college students, and Bay Area natives. We started this podcast to reflect on the world around us, our backgrounds growing up in the Bay Area, and our thoughts on the future. This is a passion project and we're so grateful for this podcast for bringing us together :)
Wow, we really did make it to episode 13! In this episode, we discuss starting school virtually (or in the case of Xin Xin, being a real adult!), awkward Zoom moments (featuring Belinda's shaky wifi), our classes, and how we're feeling heading into this fall. With so much happening in the world, we really enjoyed having this space and time to slow down and reflect :')
Hi everyone! In this episode we dive into ~self care~. Self-care can be a trendy word these days, but in this episode we talk candidly about how we've been keeping mentally and physically afloat in these turbulent times. From our struggles with coming home to journaling and exercising, there are a lot of different ways to check in with ourselves. We hope that everyone is taking care of themselves out there as well. ♥
Hi everyone! In this episode, we talk all things career, from finding out the right path for us, the pressure to pursue certain fields, and everything in between. We hope that some of this can be helpful or at least entertaining as we speak about how we've found our way in today's job market.
In Episode 10, we test how well we know each other with some juicy questions. Listen to get to know each of us a little bit better, some of the answers might surprise you! We cover everything from who's changed the most since high school to how we want to be proposed to! Maybe you'll be inspired to see just how well your own friends know you!
On Episode 9, we brought on another one of our friends, Natalie! From her personal hobbies to academic interests, she's all about caring for the environment. Listen as she shares her green thumb, tomato-growing tips and educates us on the advances and challenges facing climate change policy.
Welcome to episode 8! In this episode, we have a very special guest. Vanessa is one of our high school friends and we've invited her onto this episode to talk about all things quarantine, summer, internship, and random things we've done to pass the time. Listen in to hear us expose ourselves, struggle with technical difficulties, and embrace our candid awkwardness :')
Welcome to episode 7! In this episode, we build off of last week's discussion on social media. We dive into how we use social media during quarantine, positive trends we've seen, and how we envision social media changing in the future.
PS: enjoy one of our favorite photos of Amanda the vlogger :')
Welcome to episode 6! In this episode, we discuss how social media has impacted our lives in the last few months and our thoughts on social movements, hate speech, and privacy.
Welcome to episode 3! In this episode, we dive into the social life of college - friendships and how they make the college experience so special :)
Welcome to episode 5! In this episode, we explore our personality test results from the Meyers Briggs and Enneagram tests. Some of results changed (multiple times) and some of ours stayed the same. We reflect on how accurate personality tests are, what they show about ourselves, and what we can learn from them!
Welcome to episode 4! How time flies :) In this episode, we dive into all things classes - how we manage our time, our favorite classes, majors, and more. Do majors matter? Does GPA matter? What are some of our biggest regrets? Listen to find out more.
Hey everyone! Welcome to episode 2 of the BAY. In this episode, we dive into what it was like growing up in the Bay Area and reflect on life in San Ramon vs. our experiences in college.
Welcome to the BAY! The BAY stands for Belinda, Amanda, and Yaxin and we're three friends who grew up in - wait for it - the Bay Area. We started this podcast out of quarantine boredom to reflect on things going on around us, our upbringing, and what's on our minds! We're really grateful for this podcast for reconnecting us and opening up so many interesting, reflective conversations. Enjoy :)
